Sailor Thisbe hadn't spent much time powered as of late. She honestly couldn't recall the last time she had roamed the streets of Destiny City. Life had picked up, throwing her head first into classes and recitals and she'd been doing her best to keep up with all of that, nevermind her 'other duties'. It wasn't as though she had a partner to patrol with, or a team who insisted she come out to join them. Whatever brief glimpses of memory she'd gleaned from time spent on her home world hadn't been enough to push her to continue following Corvus around and she couldn't recall the last time she'd actually seen Arachne... She was alone as she strolled the empty streets of the abandoned warehouse district; alone and asking for trouble, as many would likely say. She hadn't felt any other auras in the immediate area-- no youma, no officers.... Nothing. The night was dull, just as she'd figured it had always been. "Maybe you're just not looking in the right places." Maybe you should just give up your stupid pen.

Thanks to Tourmaline's affinity for the warehouses and all their dark corners he had spent a considerable amount of time there as well. It wasn't one of his favorite places to hunt but it was a rather good place if you were hunting senshi. For some reason the pests did like the area as well. Probably because they knew the Negaverse did. His point was proven as he felt an order signature not far from where he was. Whoever the signature belonged to was outside the buildings so he made his way down off the second floor where he'd been and strolled out in time to see a blond senshi talking to herself. "You little one are looking in the very wrong places."

Generally when she felt another aura creeping in closer, good or bad, she drew up her hood. While a number of things about her abilities were still a mystery-- ha, mystery, she'd been a senshi for five years now-- she knew that they were more effective if she drew her hood down after her sphere had been activated. His aura had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, though, and as a result she was caught off guard. Off guard. Out of practice. She shouldn't have missed him, but she had and he was right. She had been looking in the wrong places. Thisbe crossed her arms over her chest, eyes narrowing as she looked to the Negaverse agent. He was taller than she was by a decent bit; long of limb and older, she was guessing. That could either be an advantage for her, or a disadvantage.... Despite his age she didn't feel a power spike, though. He wasn't a higher ranked officer. That was good, at least. Weapon, weapon... She didn't see one of those anywhere on him, however. No reason to get arrogant, though. That didn't mean he didn't have one or that he wasn't capable of taking her down. "I'm sure you know a thing or two about being in the wrong place. Has anyone ever told you that the Negaverse was one of those wrong places?"

"You know, I believe you would be the first to say that." He smirked as he paused in the doorway to take in the senshi. She wasn't one of the younger ones he'd run into but she also wasn't any higher rank than he was. She didn't feel stronger so he might have an advantage if she was either new at the whole thing or if she was out of practice. He was going to hope for the latter given everything. He summoned his pocket watch, wrapping it around his fist with a simple swing. "Perhaps you'd like a tour? I know a few people who'd love to see how pretty your starseed is."

"Might be one of the first to say it, but I assure you, I'm not wrong." She snorted, shaking her head as she uncrossed her arms while taking a step back. Her eyes had lingered on his face for a moment, but they slowly drifted down to his hand, watching the way he wound the chain around his knuckles. Great. Her last encounter had been against someone who was stab happy and now she'd found a brawler? Just great. "Thanks, but no thanks. My starseed is just fine where it is; safe and snug in whatever place in my chest it resides in. Imagine, though, how lovely yours could be if it wasn't tainted by that trash you and your kind accept into yourselves." Thisbe clicked her tongue as she brought her hands together, interlocking her fingers as she flexed her arms in front of her before tugging off one of her lace gloves as though she didn't want to get them dirty if they were going to fight. "But if you're going to insist on trying, I suppose I'll just have to stop you anyways."

"Ahh but you see, mine is lovely just how it is." He smirked, watching the Senshi as she tugged her gloves off. How dainty. He almost laughed at the move but he didn't, knowing that even a momentary distraction could end in bruises and broken bones. He wasn't going to risk that when he had work in the morning. He tipped his head slightly for a moment with a smirk though. "Either way you should just be blaming yourself if you think we're, what wrong? We wouldn't even be here if you creatures hadn't shown up." The smirk on his lips shifted to a slight snarl as he shifted his stance. He sized her up again knowing she was smaller and therefor would be harder to get a hold of, before charging. He kept his arms close only pulling one back to aim a fist at her gut at the last moment.

"Wrong again." He didn't seem like he'd believe her anyways, even if she pointed out that Senshi were never awoken without a reason-- That the Guardians wouldn't have taken the time to bring out the spark in their starseeds to allow them to call upon forgotten powers if it hadn't been for the Negaverse. They could have all been perfectly normal. Absolutely average. As he charged Thisbe stood her ground, eyes cold and narrow as she braced herself as best she could against the blow. Her bare hand caught his wrist and while she couldn't add on to the effect by drawing her hood down she did speak the words to release her power. "Veil of Woe!" Grymoire Attack #1 - Veil of Woe! - Woe lands a successful touch attack after removing one of her gloves, lowering her hood to gaze at her opponent. Effects: For a brief moment Woe's opponent (singular) views her as someone close to them in grievous distress, be it a situation from one of their memories or the situation they are currently in (about to be attacked). This is meant to be a disorienting attack. It can also work without her hood, but the effect always seems more powerful when they don't see her face first. Duration: Instantaneous; wearing off after one post. Avoidable: If her touch is avoided, yes. If her touch lands, no. Downside: Woe must get close to her enemy to use this attack, leaving herself wide open to being hurt if she can't move quickly enough to daze them.

Uvarovite hadn't expected the senshi to just grab him but it was to late to do anything about it once she did. He really did need to start remembering that the senshi's magic wasn't always a direct attack. He didn't have much time to think about it as he yanked his hand back and the scene in front of him shifted. For a moment it wasn't the senshi standing in front of him but instead Tourmaline. The General's hands stretched out toward him, gloves glowing red hot from the Senshi who'd burned her not long ago. Shaking his head he tried to get rid of the image knowing Tourmaline wasn't there. She was at home where she belonged. -------------------------------------------------------- Arachne would have normally ignored the park, not wanting to run into Mag Mell again, but he'd registered another familiar signal close to a Chaos one. The senshi he knew before had been scarce so feeling one meant he had to go check. The senshi expected to see a fight of some sort, there was no way that someone he knew would be hanging around with a Chaos officer like they were friends (that tended to be him after all). Sailor Thisbe wasn't who he expected to see though. He figured she would have attached herself to Corvus after he disappeared and that she would have taken up patrolling in the areas Corvus frequented. That wasn't this end of the park. But, maybe, if she'd noticed the Chaos signature she'd come over to deal with it herself. Not the best option without back up ... "Thisbe, taking one on by yourself?" He caught up to the other senshi just as the officer yanked himself out of her grasp. Somehow he didn't think Thisbe needed his help against an old man but better safe than sorry. He didn't want to get blamed for Thisbe getting hurt in the event that she was still running around with Corvus.

With a groan she straightened herself out once the Lieutenant had yanked away from her, one arm lightly guarding her stomach in the event he decided to take another swing at her. He'd hit her hard enough that she was likely to find bruising once the powered down-- no crop tops until it healed. Damnit. "Well, well... Look what the spiders dragged in." Her lips quirked into a light smirk as she cast a quick glance in the direction of the Senshi of Spiders. "Didn't know you were back in town... Looking for damsels in distress to rescue? This guy could probably use some of your help, if that's the case." Banter was just going to get her in trouble and if she kept it up she was going to find herself in a world of pain when the Lieutenant decided to retaliate for whatever it was her magic had done.

When the magic finally wore off he looked up at the Senshi in front of him, lips curling into a snarl as he realized a second had appeared. The second one would be trouble, stronger than the girl and from the looks of him perhaps more dangerous. He'd noticed the more elaborate their outfits the more trouble they tended to be. Vain idiots. If he could knock the girl out though then perhaps the man who'd appeared would either not be trouble or would end up being more concerned about her than chasing after him. If he was lucky it wouldn't be too hard either given that she was no longer paying attention to him. Adjusting his grip on his watch he straightened up and lunged at her again going for the same spot he'd already injured. ----------------------------------------------------- "What can I say? I like to surprise." He grinned, glad Thisbe hadn't lost her touch while he was gone. It was good to see some things hadn't changed given everything else that had gone wrong since he'd come back. "I do appreciate a good damsel but we all know that isn't you. Not unless your rescuer wants a fist to the jaw and I rather like my face." He was teasing, mostly, which meant he took his eyes off the officer. Dumb move as the lieutenant leveled another attack at Thisbe. Old man wasn't out of practice it seemed. "s**t..." He took a step back as he called up a orb of his magic. He didn't have time to get one of the good ones out but his basic attack would at least work to get the officer away from Thisbe until he could get between them. Sure she didn't need rescuing but if the officer was a brawler then he wasn't likely to give up either and Arachne really didn't have the time for that. Quote: Attack #1 - Arachne's Venom![Arachne cups his hands over each other and a ball of violent green energy starts to grow between his palms. Once enough energy is collected the orb is throw at an enemy. Once struck the enemy takes the effect of the harsh acid burning into their skin and clothing ((Note: The balls can only get about the size of a baseball. They work on the same basis of an Orb of Acid spell in dnd and strikes that connect burn so long as the acid is still on skin or clothing. The acid can burn through clothing/fabrics and cause 1st degree burns if it contacts skin.))] Duration: Instantaneous, the orbs must be thrown within one post or Arachne risks burning himself. Avoidable: Yes. Arachne must throw the balls himself so they're only as good as his aim. Downside: If Arachne can't throw the ball within a post of it's creation the acid orb will begin to burn his own hands

Sailor Thisbe was ready for the lunge this time, though. She caught the movement out of the corner of her eye and managed to step aside just as he closed in, dropping down to add a sweeping kick at the Lieutenant's feet to the attack being thrown by Sailor Arachne. If they were able to take the Negaverse officer down they should probably get out of dodge before whatever noise they were making drew the attention of the night watch that sometimes drove past this end of the industrial park.

Uvarovite had hoped that whatever magic she used would have knocked the senshi out of sorts for a moment but luck wasn't on his side for the evening. As the female senshi ducked his attack he felt the other's magic hit him square in the arm. He might have been able to ignore it if the magic, the acid, didn't also get on his hand. The sharp stinging pain was enough of a distraction to not see the leg the female senshi aimed at his. He huffed out a grunt as he hit the ground, snarling a curse as he tried to push himself back up. His arm complained, the acid now burning through his sleeves with no way to get it off. ------------------------------------------------------------- Arachne was glad that Thisbe wasn't completely out of practice and that his attack managed to strike the officer. He was getting better at making sure the weaker ones hit and at this range it would have been hard to miss anyway. Usually the orbs were shrugged off by more powerful opponents but it seemed like this officer hadn't been entirely prepared for it. Bonus points for getting a semi-newbie. The officer at least wasn't one of the ones who'd lost their minds completely. The combination of his magic and Thisbe's kick sent him to the ground and it looked like he was having trouble getting back up. "Thisbe ... I think it's time we take our leave." He caught her arm, motioning at the appearance of some flashlights in the near distance. Whoever that was probably heard the commotion and the last thing they needed was to get caught by some snooping good samaritans. They could leave the office to do whatever he wanted to get out of the trouble. "We can leave our new friend here to make up excuses, hm?"

Thisbe resisted the urge to kick the Lieutenant while he was down, instead following the direction Arachne had pointed her to look in. She nodded, flashing him a grin before taking off down the alley, vaulting up onto a fire escape to take to the rooftops from there. If Arachne didn't follow she was certain she'd find him somewhere later. Knowing he was back changed some things, at least. She'd definitely have to start powering up some more...
