- Put [enter] and [exit] when your character is first posting in an area, and then again when they decide to leave. Often times, members will glance at a post and mention your character in it, so if it's unclear whether or not your role play character is actually present, sometimes you could be mistakenly mentioned; it could cause a lot of confusion in the guild.
You can give your Pokémon personalities as well! It'll make them more realistic (remember how stubborn Ash's Charizard was?) and you can do tons of mini-arcs. Pokémon are dynamic creatures.
Just because you can't purchase status healing items right off the bat doesn't mean your Pokémon needs to suffer from status ailments. There are plenty of berries scattered all around the region, so be sure to stock up on them -- they can be incredibly helpful when your trainer is just starting out. Berry Pouches can be bought for cheap from any Pokémart.
Battle tons of wild Pokémon! It'll give both your trainer and your Pokémon experience, and you need that in order to evolve your Pokémon. If you're feeling up to it, you can even take on multiple Pokémon at the same time! ...just be sure not to bite off more than you can chew.
Don't forget that trainer battles don't have to be other members on Gaia - even if it's an NPC that you made up on your own, your Pokémon will receive trainer battle experience from the skirmish.
Be sure to check what TMs are in the Poké Marts in each town. Each Mart has different items, and sometimes what's in one Mart may be exceptionally helpful to your trainer.
Always make sure to check what jobs there are when you reach a new area! They're great for raising Pokémon quickly, and you'll make some good money to boot!
Do your research! You should always look into what kind of moves your Pokémon can use, as well as what it can learn in the future. Serebii and Bulbapedia are both great tools for this.
Make sure to challenge the gyms asap! All kinds of stuff is unlocked with gym badges, such as Pokémart items and even new areas, so getting some badges under your belt should be everyone's first priority. Don't wait until there's a line to make your challenge!
Do you want to type that annoying little accent over the e in Pokémon? Here's how you can do it!
- If you're on a PC....
- Press and hold alt, then type 0233 on the right-hand keypad.
If you're on a Mac.....
- Press option, then press the e key twice
- If you're lazy like Arthur....
- You can just copy and paste it from the guild name which is at the top of every page in the guild. We won't judge you.
