Physical Description:
Slim, broad shouldered C'yx stands out from a crowd. Standing at about 6'2, he is built much as one might think an archer would be, with strong arms, lithe fingers, and powerful shoulders. He has an almost triangular shape, shoulders tapering in to a slim waist, and steady hips and long legs. From his face stare two slightly angled copper eyes, now milky with thick threadscoring around the eyes themselves. His skin is a warm olive, with a slight darker tint that comes from the days in the sun. Hair is a soft yellow, cut close to his head in waves that can sometimes be close curls depending on how long it has gotten. On top of the scars across his eyes, he has tattoos in an almost glittering blue that mark his lower back and hips, done to mimick waves, that are usually hidden by his clothing. He likes wearing bright sapphire, usually some kind of long tunic and brown pants. He is always wearing sapphire blue with silver trim.
Personality:
Perhaps it is typical for Harpers, but oh is it difficult to say no to C'yx when he's actually trying. Sweet natured normally, with an ease in finding words, the rider has never had an issue getting what he needs from someone. When he wants, he can sing like a siren. This comes with everyone, even the people he dislikes. C'yx is always the sort to have on a smile and a well-turned phrase, even when it seems like he might otherwise fall to pieces. He has a knack for understanding the mood of the room that only lends further to this charming, persuasive man. He tries charm people to do what he wants with whispered words in the ear. Sweet nothings roll off his tongue like honeyed sweets, sticky and warm. He knows how to gently pry and prod, while making it seem the most natural of things. Despite it, he's a sweet little thing. He likes to cuddle with those he cares for, lay his head in their lap, and receive scratches.
It almost seems like it is impossible to upset the man, his eyes bright, and his heart light. No matter the situation, he handles it with a poise that is nearly unnatural, never getting angry or unsettled, handling it rather better than most would expect. C'yx seems to understand how to take a breath and step back, to watch the situation from a distance before jumping in, and how to help instill this virtue in others. He practices the calm, and tries to pass it on to everyone so that they might find the same peace and happiness that he has found in the eye of the storm. He can handle even the most direct confrontation with a steady hand and a grin on his face, making him seem perhaps like someone who might indeed have gone far. He is a light to others as well. He knows well what his duties as a Weyrsinger entail, and he keeps himself smiling and content on the surface. He is always singing out, always seeming absolutely happy for himself and others. Every step is light and easy, and in the most sad moments, he tries to infuse a little bit of happiness in to every twist and turn of their life so that they can all feel what he supposedly feels.
One of his biggest issues, he will tell you, is that he may be bright, but one might insinuate that he might be too bright. He is able to take what he knows of people and push what he wants from them. It is simple....Use that bright smile and charming words to turn their head, and then use his wiles in order to ensure cooperation. It seems to have gotten more intense after he got blinded by thread, the boy occasionally wheedling people to assist him with things that he might not once have needed help with. He never finds himself without having to watch his back, founded or unfounded.
He's terribly frightened of most occurrences. The man is careful on who he uses his charms, always fretting over what might happen next. There are risks he takes daily now that he is blind, and he knows well that he has to ensure that the right things are done at the right time. He hesitates when approaching new situations, taking a moment to figure out what is happening before he decides to undertake it. He is also not in the habit of easily letting things go. C'yx has a hard time feeling anything but irritation and bitterness for other people who seem to have a rather better quality of life than he does. This has endured his whole life and comes more prominently as of being blinded.

History:
Ceyx was born to a rider mother and father, a Weyrbrat from the early stages of life. He was raised around other people, taught a measure of socialization that he believes most people don't get. He enjoyed playing with the other children, occasionally getting to spend time with his Mother and her Dragon, when she wasn't busy. It was around age 5 that he began to sing, doing it to soothe some of the younger children in the weybrat group of Western, taking to caring for them with a gentle hand, to help as he could. One of the other Weyrsingers heard this, and began to teach him the Harpercraft as best he could.
Ceyx took to it well, learning both violin, and flute, to go with a soft voice that was lowering to Tenor. He was apprenticed to a visiting harper when he was searched by one of the dragons in the weyr and became a candidate at 13 turns old. He missed Harper training far too much during his candidacy, singing along as he worked, or playing when he felt lonely. The boy took a lot of comfort in being near his fellows. Four turns would go by, and a chance or two to impress...Nothing. He began to worry quietly that something was wrong with him. He could not help the self-doubt that thrummed in his chest.
It wasn't until his sixth turn as a candidate, age 19, that he found himself Standing again....and had a grumpy little ball of beautiful blue barrel in to him. The yellow-eyed hatchling was so terribly distressed and began wailing at him about how everything was going all wrong. It took seconds for him to calm the dragonet...and another minute for the reality to sink in. He had Impressed. Iriseth and he were bonded. The two were proud riders, capable and devoted well to Western Weyr.
With C'yx's talent for music and lifting spirits, it was almost natural he fell in with the Weyrsingers, finding his place after his Weyrling training had completed. It brought him such joy to help others. When the thread fell again for the first time, the two of them took up to fight, eager and ready to do what they could to help, but one wrong banking meant that something terrible happened. A turn to the wrong direction had thread thrashing against C'yx's eyes, leaving the Rider screaming in pain as his Blue carried him swiftly back to the Weyr.
He has not yet managed to fully come to terms with it, only barely recovered from the wounds, the scars still an ugly red...Being grounded is his nightmare...and it devours him.

DRAGON
Name: Iriseth
Age: 8 turns
Color: Blue
Size: 26'
Physical Description:
Iriseth is a beautiful blue, built small, but still powerfully, well muscled. His neck is longer, lithe, and his wingspan is wider still. Eyes seem to constantly swirl a yellow green, his nose scratched slightly from threadscore. His hide itself is mostly in tact, with only a slight scarring here and there. The color is a beautiful pale blue, threadded with tones of lighter blue and darker, seeming almost like the sea below. Iriseth's takes pride in his hide, so it is always well cared for, despite the two now being Grounded. His body is built for stamina and agility, the dragon able to last for longer bouts than he might otherwise be able.
Personality:
It's not that Iriseth complains for the sake of complaining. He just can't understand why everyone else seems to live in silly dragon happy land. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that Iriseth might have been tragically born without a funny bone. Everything is serious for him, and he can't stand other dragons making light of things. Jokes? Forget about it, he doesn't even understand the concept. When his rider is in a bad mood, he's even worse. He'll retreat into a dark corner of his weyr and grow irritable, lashing out at anyone except His that dares come near.
But it isn't all gloom and doom with the dragon. He'll undoubtedly have something of a reputation for being a downer, but when his rider asks him to do something, he's there in a heart beat. His rider will never need to worry about his dragon's bitterness turning onto him. He rarely talks to other dragons except when needed, so his attention is always focused on His. He loves his rider relentlessly, and is always in their corner.
Ask Iriseth to do something, and he'll do it, no questions or debate. Iriseth is remarkably stable in a crisis- he just doesn't spook. This is the dragon you want on your side when things start going wrong. He never needs anything to be sugar coated for him. He's ready to do the hard jobs other dragons might flinch at, and his rider will need to be very careful not to ask too much of him.
He'll work herself into collapsing if he's allowed to.
