The Sun had yet to rise in the great fire land of Yǒnghéng Zhī Huǒ, the capital of the Flame country. A dark shadow had been making his paces on the flats of the land, where their ruler permitted them to be. Not that Ajax listened as he scaled uneven treks in places the Fire Lord forbid. It was a reasonable risk in the now fully grown Ajax. He was training. His strong and raw paws had gotten use to the even grassy plains. So, it only made sense for him to challenge his steps in more grueling and rocky terrain. Which where mostly out of reach the fire tribe's boarder, and Shen's rule as well as demand. He had to become stronger, and that was more important then silly boarder rules. Dinging obsidian claws in the earth, Ajax's muscles worked to keep the quick strenuous pace. He had heard that Crucible had use to do the same, it made her strong. She wasn't woven strong, though being a cub when he first met her-it seemed like it-she still had to train. So he had to as well. He had to be strong. War was coming...

Ajax had to be ready. When the time came he needed to be ready to defend his clan's honor. The Naraan Clan was a strong and proud clan, one that had been faithful to the Yǒnghéng Zhī Huǒ, one that had also lost a lot being faithful to the tribe. Ajax's thoughts quickly flashed back to the terrible day he had lost an aunt that he had never had a chance to know. His jaw tightened and his ridge started to flare and raise as a anger started to flow though his body. His muscles tightened and a deep growl left from inside him. The sound reverberated though his though and rattled his chest. The loss didn't cause the pain and anger, but rather the fight that ensued between his clan; because of it.

Sir Warden....

His older cousin. When he had learned of their clan's loss, he had lost himself to anger and wanted revenge on the fire Lord they all served. Sir Warden had become so blinded by his anger that he had attacked his own Uncle, who had tried to stop from making a foolish decision. A decision that would have gotten him killed, and brought a certain kind of exposure upon their clan. They all would have been destroyed. It had been a violent day, and it was also the day he had also the day he first clashed horns with another that wasn't just in spare-or in training. That day he gave out his first scar; It was a good memento for his foolish cousin. Though it had been a memorable moment, and one that would live with them forever. It was a teachable moment, and there was no bad blood between his cousin, Sir Warden-he has since then redeemed himself to the clan. However what Ajax took from that moment, was learning his own strength and knew himself to be better then his kin. Even if at the time he was just a cub, and now being full grown, his size couldn't be the only thing that would prove his thoughts-he had to train. He had to become stronger. Stronger then his father, and certainly stronger then his cousin, Sir Warden.

As Ajax's paws slammed on the rough ground, letting the memories of the past faded away with the dust that was kicked up by his raced steps. His strong steps carried him up a steep incline, as his paw steps slowed, his shoulders pushed harder to keep his rapid pace. Claws dug into the earth, his chest heaved himself forward making a strong effort as his body worked to keep his pace. Faster. He could not-would not be slowed by the change in terrine. Crucible wouldn't have been hindered. Ajax's legs burned and ached in protest.

Just a little further....

Ajax's paws skidded to a halt, claws dug into the earth to stop him suddenly. Chest heaved rapidly filled and felled with excretion as he stopped at the end of his path, he had no where else to go. Ajax stood at the edge of a cliff that over looked the great mountain that sat in the middle of a vast and lush green volcanic valley. Dark eyes looked over the capital of the fire tribe, his home-one he was proud of. One he trained to protect even if it was against a rule that he did not respect. Shen....

The name brought anger, and disgust.

Taking in a slow breath, Ajax filled his burning lungs. Dark eyes closed as the fresh breath burned and seared his heated lungs. A small smile curled at the corner of his maw. Satisfaction of a good work out flowed over his body.

Good Ajax. Each work out brought him closer to being stronger. He need to be the strongest to protect his tribe and clan. He had to make Naraaan proud, just like he was of his father, Adonis. Adonis was a good Tah. That is what drove him, his family and the honor of his clan. He would make them all proud.

Thoughts shifted to a dream of at lest knowing a glimpse of what he had heard his father speak about. Peace. A time when they had a proper leader, a magus. One that was chosen by the paw of the Grand Weaver. Not by one that just took the leadership by his own paw. admittedly a part of Ajax admired such tenacity....but at the same time, such boldness-seemed just...wrong. It was out of place, the dark b'alam understood why Shen did it-even as a cub he knew why. It was bold and brave-as a cub, it was something to look up to. Take what you want, give nothing back. Lead when no one else would! Be the one that b'alam would follow!

It was admirable

However...as an adult, Ajax's dark eyes could see the situation a bit clearer. As a Adult following his father's example as well as teachings, he Learned and understood that patience and timing was important too.

As Ajax over looked the valley, a dark shadow caught his eye and pulled him from his thoughts. His ebony eyes narrowed at the figure as it moved across the lush grasses below. The Nahtlil's pink mohawk mane gave herself away vary quickly, he knew it well. It was his teacher, Crucible. A smile slipped across the grown Tah's maw.

Perfect. No doubt she had already saw him, she had to-that was something she would do. His teacher was by far too skilled of a huntress to give her position away so willing. Unless she was teasing or coxing him out for a duel to test his own skill. It was always like this between them. And It had been a while since their last bout. Well, there was no time to loose. Tilting his head down, Ajax looked past the strands of him frumpy mane and at the ending terrain before him. It was steep and rocky. Pawing would not be good, he could use his claws and be able to scale down it quickly. However, the noise and dust it would kick up would give away his position to her. That and it was rash. Crucible knew this, and would be expecting something better of him being from the clan of Naraan. That and he was no longer a impulsive cub. Impulse shows a lack of control, and with a lack of control mistakes are made. In their culture and with war, mistakes were too expensive and costly to be made. There clan had already lost blood...

Dark tail whipped behind the young Tah as a heavy breath passed his maw, he had to take it slow...he hated it-but it was what his teacher would advise and was forcing. Shaking his head, Ajax mentally grumbled to himself as he picked up his paws and turned his body around. He did so in a huff knowing his teacher was doing this on purpose. The morning sun was warm on his back as he moved down the small mountain he had worked to climb. The beeds of sweat where warm
