Okay class, it's time to vote on your class name. Each weyrling gets one vote towards their favourite name. The name needs to be majority rule, so over half the class have to be at least okay with it. If there's a tie in the first vote we'll have a second with the two that are in the lead. In the event of a 4 to 4 dead split with no let up, Sh'shi gets the final vote. ICly this name would have been picked likely within a sevenday of impression. Feel free to get in character with this (Weyrlings voting against the suggestion of their rival and such) and your character can change their vote, but once the name's finalised it's staying.

Current suggestions:
Dragon's Hope Class suggested by Moluli
The Bleeding Edge Class suggested by V'
Bastion Class suggested by V'
Wherry Hens Class suggested by C'ai (Yes, she heard you)
Unexpected Heroes Class suggested by D'vika
Green Queens Class suggested by D'vika (Sh'shi questions whether this is a wise choice)
The Crazy 8's Class suggested by D'vika
Tradition Smashers Class suggested by D'vika (Same with this one)
High Stakes Class suggested by D'vika
Hen House Class suggested by D'vika
Fort's Folly Class suggested by D'vika

Magna and Shark, Moluli and Zeeana need to decide what their elided names are. It's expected in Fort for all riders to elide their names. They can choose not to, but it would be considered disrespectful in Fort, as well as to the riders of some other Weyrs.

Zee'na thinks that Bastion is a great class name.

M'li likes the other choices, but still votes for Dragon's Hope.

If she can't vote for her own then Bastion is her second choice.

E'dal is torn between Dragon's Hope and Bastion. So odds Dragon's Hope, evens Bastion.

*tosses the die and 11 so... His vote is for Dragon's Hope.

Wanjouth wants to know if she gets a vote because she likes Green Queens. It makes her dizzy happy.

V's vote is for Bastion, or crazy 8s if she can't vote for her own!

The dragon's can vote if they want to and characters can vote for names they suggested.

Bastion: 2 (Zee'na, V')
Dragon's Hope: 2 (M'li, E'dal)
Green Queens: 1 (Wanjouth)

I'sko is not sure how much hope they have so he prefer Bastion. Plus he likes how the name sounds.

Deldowth actually disagrees with I'sko on this matter. He feels that they can succeed. He's not optimistic about it but he thinks there is a chance. His vote is for the Bleed Edge Class. He feels if they are going to make a difference, they need to sound like they mean it.

I'sko thinks Deldowth is sun struck.

J'in is unsure but perhaps Bastion? He does not have another suggestion.

Bastion: 4 (Zee'na, V', I'sko, J'in)
Dragon's Hope: 2 (M'li, E'dal)
Green Queens: 1 (Wanjouth)
Bleeding Edge: 1 (Deldowth)

Okay guys, we're going with Bastion Class as that's the one that has the most votes so far.

In June the Weyrlings are in months 4 and 5, so the time has come to state any lessons you want played out this month. Same rule as before, so long as at least two people want to play it, I'll run it.

Quote:
Month 4
Dragons are between approximately 35 and 60 percent of their adult size
All greens and blues have reached half their adult size
Large dragons sleep 18 hours a day and eat 4 times a day
Small dragons sleep 13 hours a day and eat 2 times a day

The focus on this month is getting a firm starting grasp on formations. The afternoon lessons focus on weyrlings learning different formations and their uses. In the morning lessons, they are quizzed on what is the best formation to deal with a specific threat and then to muster their classmates into that formation and lead them in a lap as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible. Dragons are approaching an age where many can carry their rider on their back on the ground for short periods. When practicing formations, the group will carry out the formation with riders either on their dragon’s back or walking beside them. The group is rotated frequently to test different pairs in different wing positions, including leadership roles.

Month 5
Dragons are between approximately 40 and 70 percent of their adult size
Most browns have reached half their adult size
Large dragons sleep 17 hours a day and eat 4 times a day
Small dragons sleep 12 hours a day and eat once a day

Dragons are now strong enough to carry themselves in flight. This begins with gliding under the supervision of the Weyrlingmaster and working up to powered flight. Dragons at this stage are not allowed to carry a rider in flight or to fly unsupervised. During flight lessons the dragons will carry increasingly heavier weights to prepare them for carrying a rider and pairs are encouraged to practice on the ground. Smaller dragons often take to flying easier as they are nearer their adult size and have, usually, better coordination at this age. This month features a Weyr favourite of the Weyrling Rodeo. In this event the dragon tries their best to dislodge their rider while they are strapped into their harness, whilst remaining on the ground, to test both harness safety and a rider’s ability to move with their dragon. A strong focus is on proper strap maintenance and recognising signs or strain, wear or poor manufacturing.

Months 6 and 7 are a-go! Pick lessons if you want them.

Quote:
Month 6
Dragons are between approximately 45 and 75 percent of their adult size
Most bronzes and all browns have reached half their adult size
Large dragons sleep 16 hours a day and eat 3 times a day
Small dragons sleep 12 hours a day and eat once a day

Once a dragon can comfortably carry a weight equal to that and a half of their rider, the pair will be cleared to fly together. At this point many dragons will be confident fliers, however they are encouraged not to try out complex manoeuvres until the dragon has reached full size. This is because at this age the dragons are still growing rapidly and are more likely to damage their harness and their rider may not have the skill yet to move correctly during fast motions. The class will begin working on simple formations in the air. Dragons are allowed to fly unsupervised without a rider at this age, but must still remain within the Weyr Bowl. Paired flights are allowed as long as the pair are within sight of the Weyrling Barracks, so that the Weyrlingmaster’s dragon can supervise them. Dragons are now old enough to hunt for themselves and will be taught by the Weyrlingmaster’s dragon how to hunt. They are encouraged to take smaller food items, or to share with each other to prevent wasting food.

Month 7
Dragons are between approximately 50 and 85 percent of their adult size
All bronzes and golds have reached half their adult size
Large dragons sleep 15 hours a day and eat 3 times a day
Small dragons sleep 11 hours a day and eat once every two days

This month dragons are given firestone for the first time. Prior to their first flaming, a weyrling pair must be able to properly grade and assess how much firestone the dragon should be consuming and show appropriate safety and handling of the explosive substance. They will begin flaming on the ground, focusing on learning to control their flame intensity and spread. It will be several months before they are allowed to flame in flight or to flame as a formation. Much of this month is getting dragons and riders used to the dangerous substance they are handling and making sure that a dragon can confidently aim and control their flame, as well as assessing what their potential role in a wing would be based on flaming ability. Whilst in the interval a dragons flaming ability has less of an effect on where in a wing they will be placed, with the approaching of the pass this will be covered in extensive detail.

Question: Since greens will not be introduced to fire stone and flaming, what other lessons might they have or be involved in during that time?
