For the week following the wraith incident, it was how he'd taken to referring the incident of last week, Xi-wang had continued to go to work and go out at night to gather energy. He had sort of avoided Acubens, though not actively, he also hadn't gone looking for her. Last night though he'd happen upon her and the two of them had talked at length, both of them opening their own personal wounds and letting them air.
This morning he'd had to stop off at the hotel, as he'd crashed at Acubens place, so he could wash up and dress for work. It was a casual attire job so he'd pulled a hoodie on over a shirt and dress pants along with casual black shoes. It was perhaps an odd combination but somehow he managed to make it work...somehow. It was still cool out and the idea of not wearing something like a hoodie or a sweater wasn't one he was entertaining just yet. His sweaters though, like almost all his hoodies barring this one, had sleeves that were too long to be considered casual work attire. The sleeves, like the majority of his hoodies, were overly long as they went to mid thigh and the sleeves only left his finger tips visible. This one he had a longer version of but he also had this better fitting version, he'd only been able to purchase this one at the time and had gotten the longer one at a later date from the website.
Xi-wang had hoped Jett wouldn't say anything about his clothing choice for the day, hoping the other wouldn't find it too casual, and when nothing was said upon his arrival earlier in the morning he'd started working. While a few people had wandered the shop in the morning, with him keeping to the back room, it was now afternoon and no one else was in the shop aside from himself and Jett.
Stepping out of the backroom, dark eyes first taking note of the ginger cat wandering around in an almost lazy manner, he soon spied the other. "I talked to Rhona..." Not sure if the other knew who Acubens was as a civilian he touched his cheek, where the claw marks from here were nearly healed, to indicate who he meant.

Jett was sitting behind the counter, a desk lamp shining on some strange, ancient looking metal trinket. He was sitting on the stool behind the counter, one leg propped on a shelf below the counter. He had the internet open next to him and a book balanced on his raised knee. His hair was tied back in a short ponytail and he was wearing his glasses even as he used the magnifying glass to examine something.
His eyes flicked up when Xi-wang spoke and he removed the glasses from his face so he could focus on the man in front of him.
He didn’t need clarification as to who Rhona was; he knew Acubens. “Yeah?” he prompted. “About what?”

Taking a moment to observe the other, glasses, internet open for assistance and a book in the lap Jett looked rather...geeky or nerdy if he were to be honest. It was rather nice in a way. He didn't look like he had some special night life or like the sort most in the city would call a terrorist, if they knew the truth.
Moving to find himself a seat he tugged gently at the bottom of his hoodie. "It was the wraiths...she didn't mean to attack me. We talked last night....talked about what I heard...about why she joined the court. That it's family to her...more than her own blood family. I want that also." Jett knew enough to know his own family wasn't family, wasn't good for him. He wanted to make the court his family, he knew that for sure.
"Since the incident I've been doing more...gathering energy. I want to help more. She said you like to explore mirror space....I'm not much of a fighter but I'd like to help.....could I help with that?" Asking this he looked up at the other, watching to see however the other may react. Xi-wang wanted to know if it was ok, if he wasn't being too forward or presuming too much. He was worried about overstepping anywhere.
"I a-also have two two offers to move in with people...one is temporary and one permanent. I just...I don't know about them. I don't want to seem like I'm rejecting the help you gave me. It's not like I'll quit here!" He rushed to add in the last bit, he wasn't going to leave the job the other had provided. But he worried what Jett would think about him moving out of the hotel room the other had gotten for him. He was worried it might be taken as some sort of rejection or something else, and he didn't want to upset or anger the other - or anything. He wanted, like he'd said, to make this his family and that meant working hard and pleasing others around him...fitting in.
"I-I mean you did a lot for me and I don't want to seem ungrateful and just..." Trailing off, unsure what else to say, how to word himself. He just hoped the other wasn't upset and understood what he was trying to convey.

Jett immediately forgot about the item he was appraising and gave the younger man his full attention. For a few seconds he just stared at him—and then a smile appeared on his face. He laughed and shook his head.
“Please don’t tell me you were getting yourself worked up about finding a place to live? Xi,” he shook his head. “You don’t need my permission or approval to move out. I said I’d pay for a place for you to live for as long as you needed it—if you’ve got a better place, go on. Do what’s best for you. If it doesn’t pan out or you need somewhere to stay, you just remember that the offer’s always there, all right? You need any help packing and moving things?”
He seemed like he was in a good mood; it was clear that he didn’t take the moving out as any sort of rejection. Hell, if he’d been in Xi-wang’s position and gotten a better offer, he’d have taken it.
“You just let me know, you’ve got my number. Text me when you want to move in and I’ll let the hotel owner know when your last day is.”
That was the easy part, at least. As for Mirrorspace…
He leaned back in his chair just slightly. “You want to explore Mirrorspace, though? That can get dangerous. But,” he shrugged and cracked another grin. “As long as you stay with me, you should be fine. Pick some time that’s good for you, I’ll take you with me. We can go explore some, and we’ll see what we can do about making sure you’ve got a better family here than you had with them. I hope the people you’re considering moving in with might be people you’d consider? –Are they Dark Mirror Senshi?”

"I can pack and move, I have a feeling Rhona will help. She's letting me move in for a short while. I - I have another offer but it feels too soon..." Biting his bottom lip he ducked his head as he spoke softly, hiding the fact his cheeks were taking on a light bit of a color even.
Nodding his head to the others words he lifted his head to smile softly. "I will. I have to tell Rhona. But it's an inbetween...time to be around someone else in our court." To get more comfortable with it and bond with yet another member of their court. Also it would let him have time before deciding if he was moving in with Caleb and when ,it did seem a bit fast for him...but he cared about the other. But enough to move in so soon? He hadn't had much freedom till now and was he looking to dive into something else so soon? Friends weren't as restraining in feel, as far as he could figure it, so moving in with Rhona shouldn't be either.
"Rhona is Acubens...so yeah, she's got the wings on her." And hurt him but they had talked and he understood it now. "We can go some night. I have my homework done early so any night I can be free." He'd make sure of it. He wanted to help and do something but fighting wasn't his thing, at least not yet. Maybe it would be one day...but today was not that day - it simply wasn't.
"Jett....how soon is too soon to move in with someone you're dating? I'-I've never dated till recently and it's good but it feels...I don't know...fast maybe. I just...I don't know and I don't want to upset them and ask...I don't want them to doubt me or to bring up something when I don't know." Back to fiddling with his clothing and looking anywhere but at the other male. He didn't want to bring it up to Caleb if it might turn out to be nothing, if he was thinking too much about things, if he was wrong somehow. He just...just didn't want to hurt the other by accident, because he was stupid.

Jett couldn’t help but laugh lightly. “Yeah, I know who Rhona is.” He might not have been the one to bring her into the court, but she had stayed with him and Raven for a while. He knew Rhona well enough to figure it was probably safe; at the very least she wasn’t going to betray the Court any time soon and might be able to help him adjust to the Court.
He nodded when Xi-wang listed his availability; his own schedule was flexible so he wasn’t concerned about figuring out when they were going to meet up—especially when Xi-wang asked about dating.
He cocked his head to the side just slightly, trying to read what he could about the younger man’s expression. “There’s not really any right answer to that,” he said after a few seconds of thought. “Every relationship is unique. You’re young though, so you’re supposed to experience those things, find out what works and what’s a mistake. Open communication is important in any relationship.”
He shrugged again. “I know people who have moved in with each other in a month, and some who are engaged and still living apart. It’s all up to you, and whoever you’re dating. On one hand, that’s the fastest way to determine compatibility. On the other hand, new relationships can be a little awkward as you’re developing and opening up to each other.”
It might not have been a perfect answer, but it was the only one Jett had to offer. “You have to do what feels right. If something feels off, talk about it. You’ve got all the freedom in the world right now, take advantage of it. Try new things and trust your gut.”

Knowing Jett knew Rhona was good, though he'd figured that. Rhona had implied that the court was small - like really small. So he assumed, and maybe rightly so, that everyone at least knew of each other. So if he mentioned a name they'd know who the other was.
Listening to the others advice, even though he continued to toy with the sleeves of his hoodie, his dark eyes didn't leave the others figure. It wasn't a perfect answer, something that was black and white as he wished it would be but it was good - it would do. "I-I just worry that it's fast...that the rush, on my part, is a need for affection due to a lack of...and I don't know how to tell. I - I don't want to hurt him or myself..." He wasn't even sure which would be worse, hurting himself or Caleb. But he didn't want to jump into something and find out he was wrong somehow.
"Am I just second guessing because it's new?" Biting down on his bottom lip he blinked his eyes a few times as he ducked his head. He felt like he shouldn't have this problem, that it wasn't such a normal issue to have, and that he may not be worth it when he couldn't even figure himself out.
"He asked me to move in...and I just can't - not till I know." So he didn't hurt either of them, so he wasn't a waste of the others time and effort - of his feelings. How do you talk to someone about something like this though? To sit down and explain that you felt like a waste and not worth it. He felt like he was using the other also, since he spent a lot of his time at the others apartment and took up a lot of Caleb's personal time.

Jett nodded slightly, pensive expression on his face still. “That’s fair. May what you said is true—maybe you’re rushing into things because you need the attention. I don’t blame you, you’ve sort of been starved from it from what I can tell.”
It clearly wasn’t an insult; he didn’t think poorly of Xi-wang but knew he came from a unique circumstance. “There’s nothing wrong with taking it slow, and there’s nothing wrong with moving on a fast track. It depends on you, it depends on, you know, him,” Jet shrugged. Truthfully, so far he’d been imagining some pretty blond girl with bright blue eyes, but—yeah, sure. Guys, girls, whatever floated his boat. “You’re still young, though, you don’t have to analyze everything. You have to do what feels right. It’s okay to be uncertain or to want to get to know each other a little better. It’s okay to take it slow or to jump right into things. I’m sorry that there isn’t an easy answer, but just follow your heart and your gut, all right? If you don’t feel like moving in just yet, go ahead and stay with Rhona for a while—if you change your mind, you can always just let him know, right? Or, if you want to move in with him and things get weird, you’ve got a place with Rhona—or, if that falls through, I’ll set you up with something.”
Jett didn’t seem particularly stressed. “Just live a little, while you’ve got the chance to do so. Experience new things, have fun. Live it up.”

Listening to the other, glad to hear his words, he nodded his head. He was glad the other was offering such words. He did wish there was a single, black and white, answer but he was ok with there not being. The words were caring and helpful, the offer to help him if he found himself in need of a home was appreciated, Jett really was helpful and willing to help him. It was nice to feel welcome amongst a group of people, and understood - accepted.
"Thank you. As much as I'd love a simple, easy, answer I appreciate the words and your answer - the offer." The offer meant so much to him, a safety net in case he made some mistake. Knowing he had a safety net was...relieving and made him feel safe, for obvious reasons. He was allowed to make a mistake, or a few, and he had something to fall back on - a few things even.
"I'll try to remember that...and I'm glad you understand - I don't take offence...you're right. I am starved for certain things." It's why he questioned himself, his own feelings, and he just hoped they weren't wrong and that they weren't influenced or at least not heavily by his past. "Can you tell me what you've learned so far about mirror space? What you've discovered?"

Jett pursed his lips thoughtfully and shrugged. “The things I could tell you about Mirrorspace are sort of a mixed bag. On one hand, I don’t know much for certain. I know that it’s only the Common Room and the Throne Room that never seem to change. Anything else is only temporary. And there’s not really any telling what you might find. I’ve see hallways turn into dead ends before my eyes, I’ve seen rooms as tall as a building, just full of mirrors, but no way to reach most of them. I’ve seen wraiths of all shapes and sizes, and things in the mirror that I can’t explain. So,” he shrugged. “There’s a lot about Mirrorspace that can tell you.”
He looked at the man for a moment and flashed a faint smile. “But you’re gonna have to ask the questions, or come with me so I can show you.”

"So things can change even while inside...that has to be a problem. Even you can't control it or decide where you want to arrive?" He questioned lightly. That really did sound like an issue, now he understood a bit better why him living in there wouldn't have been a good idea. "Has anyone ever gotten lost in there or found themselves in trouble? I mean more than...that." That wraith incident. Could mirror space make some sort of serious danger for them? Like turn a corner and fall down a hole? Could people get lost? i mean if everything changed couldn't it keep someone from walking from one mirror to another?
"It sounds like something you'd expect in those paintings...the ones of stairs that are upside down and archways and all sorts of things." If the other understood what he meant. It sounded like a maze of sorts or better yet a labyrinth where people could really get lost. "Does it have a mind of it's own or is it random? No sentience to the movements..." Like mirror space didn't have a personality, couldn't decide to lose a person or target someone or anything.
Nodding his head at the last bit he smiled softly. "Yeah...I'd like that. I want to see what is there." But thinking over how he might get lost there, especially if it seemed ever changing, he didn't think he was up for going alone - not yet anyway. He didn't think he'd ever really want to go alone to be honest.

Jett shook his head. “No, we always wind up in the same common area, right outside the throne room. If you Mirrorwalk and wind up anywhere else, chances are, something’s wrong. You should probably get out as soon as possible. Even when you start in the common area, you can still get lost. I’ve gotten lost before—but as long as there’s a mirror, you can get to somewhere safe back in Destiny City. I’ve wound up in trouble. Nothing I couldn’t handle, but.”
He shrugged nonchalantly. “Doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t still be careful. So far as I know, Mirrorspace has to at least have some mind of its own. I always figured that’s why when we need something, it’s there. I mean—sure, we’re summoning it, but it has to come from somewhere, right? One day we’ll figure out where. We can go one night, you and I, just hit me up when you’re free and I’ll make time.”

That was a good thing to know, really good, he thought as he committed that part to memory. If he ever entered into mirror space and wasn't in front of those doors than something was up, and he would upon leaving tell Remarque about it. It wasn't something that he'd have known, at this point, as he hadn't gone to mirror space on his own before. he'd only been there...three times - yeah three times. So he had no way to know that it was expected he'd wind up there. Now he knew though, and he was glad for it.
"So then I guess we can get this mind, if it is such, angry as it perhaps has a personality of some sort?" There was no way to tell for sure though - right? It had a mind but did that come with emotions and the ability to be offended or upset? Not something he thought they should test, unless they were looking to please this mind it had.
"If it does...that's a bit scary." The dark haired male spoke softly.
"We can go...." Thinking for a moment, over how much homework he had and if he had anything else going on. "Two nights from now?" Hoping that would work for the other.

Jett shrugged. “Don’t know for sure. A personality is a bit much, but I suppose we don’t know. I mean, there are plenty of things that have some semblance of free will or the ability to think but doesn’t have a true personality. AIs, bacteria,” he shrugged. “Mirrorspace is something special, that’s all I can really say about it. But, stick with me and I’ll keep you safe. Two nights from now sounds good to me. You going to have your schoolwork done by then?”
It wasn’t that Jett intended to be a nag, but being older that some of the newer Senshi joining, he couldn’t help but want to make sure that they were taken care of. Xi-wang, especially, given that he didn’t have parents to nag him.

"Could it be something like that? Like bacteria?" He asked wondering. It was a better way of describing what he'd been trying to say and had been thinking about, had been questioning. It was certainly a bit scary if you thought about it. It meant that whether it had a true personality, like a person, it still had something of a personality and thus could and would act upon it.
When his school work was brought up he nodded his head. "I'm sure I'll have it done. I'm good at getting my work done quickly." And doing it well when he did do it, he was efficient when it came to his school work.
"I mean if nothing comes up by surprise, school wise or otherwise, I should be fine and get my homework done." While some people might not like being questioned about their homework, being typical teenagers, but Xi-Wang didn't mind in all honesty. He actually liked it - someone cared. Someone not only cared but their caring was genuine, it wasn't them caring like his mother had...where it wasn't sincere and it was only said, and acted out, in order to appear normal and in order to gain things from him. This was someone who cared and he appreciated it so much. It was why he asked the other for help and advice.
He trusted the other.
