The heels of her boots clicked across the sidewalk as dark eyes continued to glance down at the frilly skirt surrounding her waist. She'd twirl once in a while, just to watch the trim fly around, but for the most part she was still getting used to the fact that she, Beatrice Kellye, was magical.

Her - magical!

She'd have much preferred if she'd been turned into a vampire or a werewolf or even a swamp monster, but as far as the assignments went, being a magical girl still beat being ordinary.

At the moment, her senses had been tingling with the weird aura thing that Lesath had told her about. She'd been taught that there were others out there, good and bad, that gave off energy signatures. Finding out where these people lurked was far more difficult than just sensing their magical vibe-whatever, but Lovejoy was up for the challenge.

If there were other magical people around, she would find them!

Cupping her gloves over her mouth, she let out a shrill cry:

"Olly olly oxen free!"

Arachne paused half way in the motion of dropping himself off a roof when he heard a voice. Looking down he saw a senshi, a chaos senshi. One who he was going to guess was really new at this since she was yelling rather than actually looking for him.

Shaking his head he stepped off the roof, dropping down onto the sidewalk a bit in front of her with a slight flourish. "I must say. That's a new one. Can't say I've heard someone using playground language like that before."

He didn't think he'd ever hear it again but it was funny.

I must say.

He'd appeared from practically nowhere. Just sailing down onto the ground with a grand entrance worthy of some of the most stellar of black and white monster movies Bea had ever seen. Fabric rippled behind him as he straightened himself out and Lovejoy felt her eyes grow wide in awe.

The grin spreading across her face was unmistakable. "It got you out in the open, didn't it?"

Boots wasted no time in approaching the powerful figure, clearly the one responsible for emitting the aura in the distance. His dark and broody attire was nothing short of fascinating for the teenager, whose hands moved up to gently tug down on her own wild ponytails. As she drew near, she saw the lace, the webbing, the spider brooch. Paired with his elegant gloves, and those piercing red eyes, Lovejoy could only draw one reasonable conclusion.

Her voice lowered itself, almost to the point of being a whisper. "I didn't know vampires could be senshi."

The tug on her pigtails grew harder as she stared up at him with stars in her eyes. Was this what falling in love felt like?

"Who are you?"

Oh she was precious.

Not the first time someone had compared him to a vampire, and likely not the last, but one of the better reactions. So far the reactions of late had been either boring or the usual 'arachnophobia' response.

"Now wouldn't it be unfair if they couldn't be? Just because someone got bit by someone with a neck fetish doesn't mean they shouldn't get their magical powers." Given that look on her face he probably shouldn't have encouraged her but ...

How could he not?

White eyebrows furrowed as she thought seriously about his reasoning. He had a valid point - it would be racial discrimination for vampires to be excluded from the role. Wait, race discrimination? Would it be species-related discrimination? Was there a difference?

Shaking her head, she dismissed the confusing train of thought.

"You are absolutely right, I'm sorry if I offended you, sir."

Rocking back and forth on the heels of her shoes, she contemplated what in the world she was going to do now that she had a real live vampire in front of her. She'd daydreamed for years about her first vampiric encounter and now that she was finally there, she was finding her words a struggle to come out.

"Are you out looking for blood tonight, sir? Or an assistant? I'd be happy to volunteer, if you need some energy or blood or whatever it is that you're looking for!"

Was it a social faux pas to ask a vampire about his eating?

Why had no one written etiquette books for supernatural encounters?!

Wow. She really did think he was a vampire.

Arachne was used to the jokes and people poking fun at his appearance but no one had ever thought he was actually a vampire before. It was kinda funny considering how far away from the whole 'gothy victorian vampire' thing he was in his regular life.

Oh well, no reason to ruin her night since she was being precious.

"No my dear. I ate last night so I will be fine for a few days at least." He straightened his lapels before loosely crossing his arms. "I am just out enjoying the night."

Her shoulders sagged slightly, the hopeful expression on her face faltering for a brief, glimpse of a moment before the smile returned.

It would be okay. She would simply work her way into the good graces of this Count or whatever Americanized term he'd adopted for himself and he would soon see, in time, that she was definitely a worthy asset to consider transforming. If she became a vampire within the next few years, she could remain youthful and pretty and not have to worry about sagging boobs or wrinkles or whatever it was that most of the superficial women thought about when they turned into vampires in the novels she read.

"Okay." Her head bobbed, accepting his answer as fingers slowly let go of her pigtails, letting them bounce back up into place. Clasping her fingers together, she sidled up alongside the taller man and stared up at him, still completely entranced. "So if you're a senshi, sir, may I ask what kind you are? I would imagine being a vampire would have its own powers, instead of messing around with other magics?"

Of all the times not to have brought a pen and paper with her. She'd have to do her best to remember his answers for when she got home and could jot them down.

"Arachne, Senshi of spiders." He smirked slightly, looking over at her. With her this close he couldn't exactly do his usual bow when he introduced himself but she at least seemed like she was impressed even without it. In all honesty she looked like she was writing stories in her head about his past.

Which was kinda creepy but it could be worse.

"And you would be surprised how many powers books give vampires that just aren't true. They work great for stories but real world application? Vampires would have been driven to extinction long ago." It was tempting to show off his magic but he didn't want to waste it on showing off. Not without a youma to dust in the process.

"And who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"

She curtsied at his request for her name, trying to appear much older than she clearly was.

"Sailor Lovejoy, sir, at your service."

Ponytails bobbed with the dip and she released her frilly skirt, her mind already justifying the other senshi's sphere. Of course he was in charge of spiders - aside from bats, what other creepy crawly monster-like beast would he be controlling? Duh!

"You don't...." She hesitated with her question, fearing either ridicule or angering the dark master she'd just met. ".... y-you don't sparkle, do you?"

Hands clenched down at her sides as she bit her bottom lip nervously. She'd always hoped that the stupid books had gotten that part wrong, but Arachne did just say that not all the powers were true, so....

The comment about sparkly vampires got a snort out of him before he laughed. "No, god know." He shook his head before tucking his hair behind his ears so it wouldn't get in his face. "That was some girls fantasy that involved too much body glitter. I don't even know where she got that idea."

He'd never read the book, never intended to, but everyone knew the jokes. That lady had to be on some good stuff to come up with that one.

"Though, I do have a sparkling personality." That was one of his better traits as far as he was concerned.

The sigh of relief that she exhaled was long and audible.

Thank goodness.

It was one thing to be a dark lord, brooding and evil in whatever castle he lurked in, drinking blood and all that gothic, gory and glorious stuff. Sparkles, though? Sparkles had no place in the lives of the damned, as far as Lovejoy (and her civilian counterpart) was concerned.

"That's so good to hear, sir." She nodded obediently, reassuring him that she had absolutely no hang-up with the fact the only thing that sparkled were his eyes and his personality. She approved of both.

One boot scuffed against the sidewalk as she looked around nervously. What did one say to such an incredible being? Where did even one begin?

"You wouldn't perhaps....be open to an interview at some point, would you?"

Hands flew up to wave around defensively, "No pictures or anything like that, no reflective glass, I know better. But I'd love to get some answers to several questions I've had about your magnificent species, if that's okay?"

"Didn't think your name was Daniel Molloy." He smirked, leaning on one hip and crossing his arms over his chest. If she was as into vampires as she seemed to be she'd get the reference. If not? Sad for her.

He did chuckle at the mention of cameras though. "To put that one to rest too. We have reflections. At least now unless you've got an antique mirror around. Most aren't made with silver anymore, which was the problem. Same goes for cameras since most of that is digital now." That was one myth he'd never really understood completely. "I mean come on, do you know any creature as vain as a vampire? The selfie culture was practically made for us."

He at least knew enough about that one to fake it pretty well. Given half his life involved instagram and overly vain people.

She was practically drinking him up where he stood.

His Vampire Chronicles reference did not go unnoticed, the young girl even more over the moon at the fact that clearly, this master of darkness had done his own research on the media's take on his species.

How prepared!

She, on the other hand, was far from prepared.

"I'll... I'll... How will I know to find you, when I find the stuff I need for the interview?" Mentally checking off her list of things to acquire, she added cell phone to the task because if he could get pictures taken, maybe she could muster up the courage to take a selfie with lowly little underling her, right???

"I'm not that hard to find. You just have to be in the right place at the right time and I tend to just .. know where I need to be." That was a complete lie but there really wasn't a way to let her know how to find him. Even if there was it wouldn't be a good idea to let someone from the other side know how to find him. He barely let other Senshi find him since they usually just got in his way.

She was sweet though and it was fun to pretend to be the vampire she wanted him to be. So he wasn't going to complain if she found him again.

"You found me once and you should know we're quite territorial creatures." That was at least as good of a hint as he could make that he liked the area they were currently in.

"O-Oh yes, yes, of course, sir."

She nodded her head again, as though she understood (when in truth, she absolutely had no idea but she didn't want to sound stupid and inadequate in front of His Greatness). Maybe she'd just return to this initial meeting place and wait it out for a few days. Maybe she'd make a vampire-inspired blog post in hopes of him catching it - after all, he was fairly savvy in the ways of vampire culture, right?

"Until next time then, sir."

She curtsied again, paying what respect she could before the teenager turned on her heels and dashed down the sidewalk excitedly - there was no point in lingering around and embarrassing herself further, at least, not without the proper equipment to do a proper interview!
