Kawa is a passionate and poetic soul that spills his emotions in the form of writing, when words simply cannot do the trick. He cherishes the other works of fellow authors, and is an avid intellect, a man open-minded enough to accept all ideas, and truly learn from them. At times, he can be too forgiving, and will sometimes be taken advantage of unless someone directly tells him that he's being taken advantage of. At that moment, his attitude reverts into something more cold and calculating, using every word and letter to not make you physically hurt--- but emotionally and mentally damaged.

In recent years, it has been discovered that Mages have a second "Container" for their Magic power that is largely unused called the Second Origin. Using the Arc of Time it is possible to unlock the said Magic Container, granting the Mage in question a large boost in Magic Power. During the "unlocking" process, markings appear on the Mage's body. The process involved in unlocking one's Second Origin, however, is excruciatingly painful. When one's Second Origin, however, is unlocked, they are able to reach new heights with their respective Magic or perform spells and activate abilities that they would otherwise have trouble with, with ease. Once a person has released their Second Origin, they can either choose to use it at all times, to greatly power up their abilities, or save it for later, using it as a trump card for later in a battle.

The user can fast forward an object's "time" into the future, making it decay rapidly or rush to attack an opponent.

By placing a mark on a person in a ritualistic method, this technique will activate as timed even if the person is tortured or put under a trance. This is meant to catch an enemy when their guard is down. This can be used to make sure an attack is used at a precise moment, despite the circumstances.
-Ethernano Draining Seal| A Rank
The user places a person on a seal that will drain the latter's ethernano, so that the user can use it himself through another seal that they imprint on themselves. If they wish for someone's ethernano to be transferred to a partner, they do the same, but write the other seal on their partner instead.
-Dark Écriture: Teleportation| C Rank
The user seems to be able to teleport by turning themselves into many runes. These runes float in the air freely and go to the place where they unite to form the user's body again.

After writing a series of runes on their target, the user will slowly force the opponent to lose courage, breaking their will to fight and causing them uncontrollable fear of death.

Writing runes on their target, the user amplifies the already-present pain, inflicting even harsher pain unto the victim.

The user writes runes on their opponent, which will inflict immense pain on them without actually dealing any damage to their body. This spell can also be cast from a longer range. By creating runes, the user summons several magical beams that are directed to attack their enemy. Alternatively, this spell can be cast differently by swinging the caster's weapon repeatedly, releasing a volley of beams.

After writing runes on themselves, the caster gains dark purple magical wings that allow them to fly.
-Dark Écriture: Darkness| S Rank
By writing runes on themselves, the user turns into a dark-colored, demonic creature, with horns coming out of their head and their right eye covered with scales. This spell increases the user's strength and allows them to use Darkness Magic.
-Dark Écriture: Absolute Shadow| S Rank
By writing runes on themselves, the user turns into a dark-colored armored knight. This spell appears to increase the user's power. While in this form, the user is capable of moving at his opponents in great speed, to the extend that Rustyrose wasn't able to avoid Freed's strike. In such a state, the user is shown to be capable of producing a large, electric orb from their right hand, which they employ in melee, rushing towards the target and striking them at close range.

By writing runes in thin air, the user can reflect an incoming projectile.

The user wields their sword and quickly slashes at the target, causing damage to both the target and the ground below them.

The biggest difference however, is that this spell is more physical than mental. The seal seeps into the victim's flesh, and covers every single one of their blood sells. Blood cells begin to literally explode within the victim, causing intense and unbearable pain.

The user writes the kanji word for 'Enslavement' onto an object, which causes said object to become a "puppet" for their master, the user. The user controls the object to their will.
-Curse Seal: Ecstasy| A Rank
The user writes the kanji word for "Ecstasy" on their victim, or through a slash or beam, dragging them into a illusion that highlights there very own desires; this is done by actually tapping into the victim's memories in order to pull out memories that appeal to them. These illusions are almost life-like, and can be used on multiple people. The victim is broken out of the spell in five posts.
-Curse Seal: Link| A Rank
The user writes the kanji word for "Soul Link" on their arm, and sends forth either a beam, a slash, or writes on their victim, the same word. Whatever the user feels, the victim will feel, but it is not vice-versa.
-Curse Seal: Nightmare| S Rank
The user writes the kanji word for "Nightmare" on their victim, or through a slash or beam. This drags them into an illusion that highlights their victim's greatest fears, or worst memories. These memories are pulled from their minds, and replayed to appear almost life-like. They can be used on multiple people. The victim is broken out of the spell in six posts.
-Curse Seal: Darkness| B Rank
The user writes the kanji word for "Darkness," in the air, which causes the area to become void of absolute darkness, the darkest form of 'darkness' there is. No common light can break through the darkness, as it actually requires for the user to be knocked-out, or the rune to vanish after five posts, for the spell to be broken.
-Curse Seal: Unlink [Temporary]| Ultimate
The user writes the kanji word for "Unlink" on their victim, or through a slash or beam. Whoever is struck by this spell, loses the ability to manipulate magic for a total of five posts. However, they are fully capable of manipulating other non-magic abilities, as well as using enchanted weaponry that does not need to be summoned via reequip magic.
-Curse Seal: Implode| C-S Rank
The user writes the kanji word for 'implode' on an object, which does as the name suggests, causes an object to shrink within itself, imploding into nothingness. Regardless of the size of an object, the user is causing most inanimate objects to vanish. However, the larger the object, the longer it takes for it to implode.
-Etherious Blood: Puncture| S Rank
With their sharp claw, the user is capable of piercing through their victim's chest, literally causing their chest to explode open. Only a single touch is needed for this ability, but the effects are deadly.
-Etherious Blood: Slither | S Rank
The user writes the kanji word for 'Death' in the air, which causes a blood-red katana to materialize in front of them. This katana is powerful enough to sever an unarmored body in half with just one swipe.

The user brings their right arm in front of themselves with the palm of the left hand behind the elbow, and then brings their arms to the other side of their body. The user then incants the word "Storm", and subsequently a tornado is produced that can damage the opponent.

The user writes the word "Oil" in the air, producing extensive amounts of sticky black oil out of the word. This spell can be used to immobilize an opponent as large as an ordinary room.

By writing the word "air" midair, the user creates a bubble from which air manifests itself, allowing those deprived of it to breathe with ease.

Kawa was born in the outskirts of Chainan, to a young librarian, who taught her son how to read from a young age; since then, young Kawa has had a deep love for the written word, even if he cannot remember why. He grew to become a curious and intelligent child, who would ask as many questions as possible, mostly pertaining to his missing father. According to his mother's answers, Kawa's father was a bad man, for reasons that he was never told. He was pained with all the questions he wanted to ask about his father, especially as to why he was a bad man. Unfortunately, whenever Kawa would ask, his mother would beg for him to stop, which he would do since he was a mama's boy, and didn't wish to hurt his mother in any way.

Kawa was content with his quality of life as a child, even if he didn't have any friends. He was always an outcast among his peers for being a book worm, which he couldn't blame them for. However, Kawa came across his first friend at age ten: An older gentleman that he would encounter during his walks home from school. The man had long white hair, and a mysteriously familiar aura about him that Kawa could not comprehend. The man grew to become a father figure to young Kawa, going as far as to bring him books to read in his leisure time. Kawa would tell stories of this friend, to his mother, who immediately told the young boy to never talk to this man ever again.

She was apprehensive and abrasive whenever Kawa mentioned this man, just from the description alone. However, Kawa wasn't willing to get rid of his first friend, and he continued to see the man. Eventually, the man began to teach Kawa magic: A special magic that could control time and space itself. Wishing to flaunt his new magic to his peers, Kawa was eager to learn; but, the man instructed Kawa to never reveal this magic, not even to his mother. Kawa began to keep to himself, growing distant from his mother, and from the one other thing he loved more than anything in this world: Reading.

Kawa's relationship with his mother began to have a heavy strain, which lead to arguments every day. And every day, Kawa would run away from home, to train with the man. On Kawa's 13th birthday, he was given the gift of a father, but it would grow to be the worst gift in the world. Over-joyed that the man had told him who he really was, Kawa urged him to visit his mother, who would finally put her apprehension to rest once she saw the father of her child. Maybe Kawa could have a normal family again, maybe things would turn out for the better.

What Kawa got instead: Was fire. All he could remember, was hearing the screams of his mother, but he was unable to move, as he could not see anything. Pain surged through the young man's body as he struggled to find his mother, one eye completely impaled with a dagger, courtesy of his father. Kawa was used to exact his father's revenge on his mother, for leaving him to become a librarian. Kawa's father had planned on taking everything away from his ex-lover: Including her son. Kawa's father had assumed that the dagger to the face would kill Kawa, however, he was mistaken. The screams, the pain, and the guilt that Kawa was feeling, had caused something malevolent to awaken in him.

Kawa's body began to disfigure into what appeared to be a monster with inky-black feathers, and horn piercing through his flesh. This surprised his father: Kawa was half etherious. Kawa attacked his father with his sharp talons, but had instead struck his mother, permanently disabling her from the waist down. This caused Kawa to go hysterical, and attack his father with everything he had. Instead, Kawa's father had delivered a painful blow to the young man's chest, nearly killing him.

Kawa woke up in a streaming river, unsure of why he was here, and who he was. Every single thing that had led to this strange occurrence, Kawa could not remember. He assumed that his name was the Japanese word for river, as he found himself floating in one: Kawa. He was unsure why his eye are scarred, or why a scar branded his chest. He wasn't sure where he was from, nor was he sure who his family was. The only thing he did know: Was that he loved to read. Kawa began to travel through the continent of Chainan, trying to figure out who he was, all while collecting valuable books along the way. He came across exotic and peculiar people of all walks of life, who had instilled their knowledge onto him.

At age 15, Kawa became a scholar's apprentice, who would travel from country to country. For two years, Kawa would collect valuable texts from countries such as Alvarez, Gapta Empire, Chainan, and so forth. Soon, he and his mentor had landed in Fiore: A mystical and beautiful country with a lot of history to it; it was here that his mentor decided to retire. Kawa was given the opportunity to go back to Chainan if he desired, but the young man declined the request, and decided to stay with his mentor, who had opened a library in Fiore, using books that he and Kawa had collected while on their travels.

Kawa was something of a super star in the town he was in, Balsam Village. Many women and a few men, would come to the library just to be around 'River Senpai,' and attempt to court with him. One comment in particular from a fan boy, would change Kawa's life forever. The boy had asked if Kawa was a Blue Pegasus member, since he was so beautiful. Humble as ever, Kawa had asked what Blue Pegasus was--- and the rest went from there. Kawa joined Blue Pegasus, and never regretted his decision. At age 20, Kawa was given the library by his mentor, who was in the age of retirement, and wished to settle down in peace.

At times, Kawa gets nightmares that consist of betrayal, heartbreak, and utter depression. These dreams sometimes causes him to cry at night, as they feel too real and painful. He keeps these feelings to himself, and if always willing to help others rather than himself. Sure, sometimes he wouldn't mind knowing what his childhood was like, or how he lost his eye. But maybe it's better to not know...
