"Mom, I'm going to be late! I have to go!" Oliver said, his body outside of the house and his head in the doorway where his mother was yelling at him about not putting a dish away. He knew if he didn't solve what was going on right now that his a** would be getting chewed and grounded when he got home from school. School seemed to be the only escape lately, he didn't have any friends at school, just acquaintances that never bothered to text him and ask to hang out or even reply to his texts he would send them. Obviously they only spoke to him because he was a straight A student and knew if he helped them out or even cheat off his homework they wouldn't have to worry about getting any answers wrong.

Grabbing his backpack from the passenger seat, Oliver slammed the door of his mothers car, locked the door with the remote and started running down the sidewalk of the student parking lot. He was late to class so he had to park all the way out towards the baseball fields which was on the other end of the schools property. Running down the hallway, he ran into his first class of the day. "I'm sorry I'm late my m-" He started, breathless but was inturupted by his science teacher, Mr. Olson. "Do you have a signed excuse?" "No." Oliver answered, truthfully, the boy couldn't lie, it was always too obvious. "Detention at 2:30, Mr. Wolf." "B-but!" "No buts! Sit down before I mark you absent instead of tardy." Mr. Olson said, his loud and strong voice making Oliver's sensitive ears ring, he nodded and walked to his assigned seat and sat down without another word.

After school was out, Oliver clicked his cracked old, iPhone 4 back on, it was almost dead even though he hadn't used it today. He's had the phone since he was a freshman, his mother refused to buy him a new phone. Oliver didn't want to buy a new phone that was around four hundred dollars. Sending a quick text to his mom that he was going to be staying after school to do some studying in the library, he headed into the detention room while shutting his phone off and stuffing it into his backpack. "No phones," The teacher said as he walked into the room, "I was putting it away." He told her, "Hand it over trouble maker, you'll get it afterwards." She said, putting her hand out, waiting for him. He let out a quiet, annoyed sigh and pulled the phone back out of his backpack and set it into the ladies hand. Walking over to the desks, there was only one seat left so Oliver went straight to it and sat down. He planned on reading his book for the hour of detention, opening his backpack, he shuffled around for his book. Of course, he left it in his locker during lunch.

It's been a rough day, and its just getting worse by the minute. Letting out an annoyed sigh, he pulled his science text book out and crossed his arms across his chest. He was ready to get this day over with and go to sleep.

Sending off one last text, the young man then shoved his phone into the back pocket of his jeans as he made his way into the room where detention was being held. The teacher glanced up from her desk and merely rolled her eyes when she saw that it was Ethan Holloway, once again. "Third detention this week, Mister Holloway," she mentioned aloud, although no one in the room dared to make a sound. This was Ethan - an outgoing body full of muscle that was prominently known as one of the schools most popular jocks. The ladies loved him, practically swooned at even the slightest of smiles, although he wasn't all that favoured amongst the teachers of the school. Not that he cared. Ethan was a senior who would be ditching the high school scene come next spring.

"What can I say, Miss. I enjoy my sleep." The brunet just smiled towards the elderly woman, crossing the room to sit occupy the only empty seat left. Which was conveniently stationed behind a boy he recognized as Oliver Wolf - who was in three out of four of his classes - English, Biology and World History. He always thought he was pretty cute, and his friends would always nudge him whenever they caught him staring at the other. Nearly everyone knew of Ethan's sexuality - he had been open about it for quite a bit of time now, and no one had a problem with it as far as he was concerned. Those who did, well, they knew better than to open their mouthes.

Setting his bag on the floor, Ethan slumped down into his chair and leaned back, allowing himself to get comfortable. Everyone in the room seemed to be either working on school work, or day-dreaming waiting for three o'clock to come around. His gaze soon fell on the boy seated opposite of him, and he smirked. "Oliver Wolf in detention," he spoke, keeping his deep voice low as to not disturb the teacher. "Guess there really is a first for everything."
He leaned forward against the desk and folded his big arms across its wooden surface. Not once had Ethan ever seen Oliver in detention, which was saying something because he was in there practically every week.

Ignoring the teacher, whose name he didn't even want to learn because she seemed like a cranky old hag who needed to retire already. She looked decently ancient and was about to hit the grave. He didn't bother to look over at the male that she antagonized, although, his voice did sound very familiar. The last name Holloway wasn't the last name of anyone he had spoken to before. Maybe Oliver's mind was just playing games with him, hopefully this whole day was just a hallucination. It's been a bad day, his first ever detention, along with getting his phone taken away for the first time since seventh grade in english class because he forgot to turn the ringer off and his grandmother called him.

Going back to his biology homework, Oliver continued to fill in the long answer questions in the packet of homework Mr. Olson assigned for tonight and was due tomorrow morning, the second you walked into his class room. He didn't have time for cheaters to copy down his own homework in his class while teaching the next section of work they'd have to do tonight and wouldn't know a single answer. He had a photographic memory so it took a bit for him to forget something he learned earlier today, although he rarely had to look in the text book for part of an answer he couldn't come up with.

Hearing his name being said by the person that sat behind him, Oliver's first reaction was to roll his eyes and go on with ignoring everyone in the detention room. But when he continued, he shifted in the uncomfortable, plastic chair and turn his head to see who was talking about him. He knew it was the "mister Holloway' boy, he looked fairly familiar, although Oliver couldn't make out where he knew him from. Shrugging his thin shoulders, "Guess so," He answered quietly to the stranger, although he quickly looked away to the front of the class room when the teacher shushed him and announced, "No talking!" He let out another annoyed sigh and looked back down at his homework.

When the clock struck three o' clock, most of the students that sat in the classroom jumped up as fast as they could and left the classroom and dispersed down the hallway. Oliver on the other hand, had lost track of time, after finishing the rest of his homework for the day, he began to read the book he was in the middle of, it was a real cliffhanger. Each time he started reading it, he'd get sucked into it and wouldn't realize all the time he's wasted until something distracts him.

Setting his bookmark in between the page he stopped on, he leaned over to set the book into his organized backpack, every thing had a certain place it needed to be. Zipping the backpack, he pulled it over bother shoulders and headed out of the detention room. Oliver pulled the keys to his mother's car out of his back pocket and headed down the hallway that was towards the student parking lot. Hearing his name be called out, he turned around to see the boy who taunted him for being in detention. Unsure how this guy knew his name and Oliver had no idea who he was, he was hesitant to answer his question. "Not anywhere special, just h-" He began, but was interrupted by the male who invited him to Julie Baker's pool party. Oliver knew who Julie Baker was, she was one of the most popular students at the school, captain of most of the girls sports too.

"Are you sure you're talking to the correct Oliver?" He asked, maybe there was another Oliver Wolf in this school, anyone who knew of him knew that he wasn't anywhere close to being popular enough to be invited to a party. Parties weren't his thing anyways, he'd always been too afraid to ask his mother if he could go to one. She was a strict mom and didn't let him do very much, half of the time he lied about where he was going. Also, he didn't really feel like going to his first party with some random guy. It might make him look gay, he is gay but, he isn't ready to come out of the closet yet. His mother and father would kill him and most likely throw him out and disown him, his parents hated gays. They were catholic and the church they went to is very anti-gay, no homosexuals are welcomed. Which is why Oliver stopped after three months of attending, his parents stopped forcing him to come.

Continuing to walk down the hall way when this boy caught up to him, "Forgive me for not knowing your name since you know mine, have we spoken before?" He asked, needing to know if they have, he was the one to always remember the names of other students he's spoken to.

The boys response left him partially dumbfounded - of course he was talking to the correct Oliver. "Sure," he replied with a soft chuckle, as if the answer was obvious. As far as Ethan was concerned, the Oliver he was currently talking to was the only one in the school. If there was another, well, they probably didn't matter very much. He knew a little bit of everyone in the school - minus the freshmen. To him, they were just annoying little shits that crowded the hallways and traveled in herds. Ethan gripped onto the straps of his bag as they strolled down the hallway, his phone going off in his back pocket as they did so. Though he chose to ignore the constant buzzing for now. He figured it was just his friends trying to get ahold of him wondering if he was on his way over.

The kids next question most definitely caught him off guard, and he furrowed his brows in both surprise and astonishment. "Wow..." He whispered to himself, laughing a little as he scratched the back of his head. Ethan honestly felt a tinge of embarrassment and that didn't happen often. "No, but we have been sharing the same classes since sixth grade. It's Ethan. Ethan Holloway. Captain of the varsity White Oaks High basketball team. Ring any bells?" He stated proudly, lips jaunting into a smirk. For a moment the kid appeared flustered, which Ethan admittedly found quite cute. He just smiled ahead as they made their way through the double doors which lead out to the front of the school.

He fished out his pack of cigarettes from his pocket and dangled one from his lips while they walked. Once he lit up, he inhaled deeply before releasing a cloud of smoke from his parted lips. "So," he started questioningly, peering over at the boy. "Now that we know one another. What do you say?"

After Ethan explained how he knew Oliver, he still had no idea who this kid was. Did they really share classes with each other since sixth grade or was he just bull shitting him? Either way, Oliver felt bad that he had no idea who he was so he decided to play along with it. "Oh yeah, of course. Silly me." He said with a fake chuckle and walked out of the doors to the front of the school. His mother's car was towards the end of the long parking lot in front of them, it would take him a couple of minutes just to get to it.

Turning towards Ethan, he waved his hand in front of him to push the cigarette smoke away from him. Oliver hated cigarettes, his alcoholic uncle who used to babysit him would burn his arms with them when he did anything bad. He's hated cigarettes ever since, the smell, the thought of them, even seeing the outline in someones back pockets. Oliver still had a few burn marks on his arms to prove it. Scratching the back of his head, Oliver was unsure about what his mom would say about him having her car for a few more hours. "I'm sure I can lie to my mom about going to a friends, but, I'll probably have to take my car back to her. So it's a no." He sighed, kind of wanting to go to this party Ethan spoke about.

It would probably be the only time he'd ever be invited to go to a high school party. Senior year was almost over and the opportunity was going to be ruined by his bitchy mother. "Sorry, it was nice of you to invite me though." Oliver thanked him with a warm smile and headed towards the car. Fishing his hand into the left front pocket of his jeans, he grabbed a few cashews and popped them into his mouth. Grabbing his car keys from his other front pocket, he pressed the unlock button on the remote.

Hearing his name being called out behind him, Oliver turned around to see Ethan rushing towards him, "Yes?"
