The calm after the battle was almost serene in its quietness, Kallichore noticed.

The side of Order had won the day, beating back the horde of youma that had erupted to the surface at the behest of one of the Negaverse’s powerful Generals. Many were injured - herself and Nephthys included - and would need to seek medical aid. How many of them would pour into the nearby clinics and hospitals for treatment? What cover story could they come up with to explain this?

Ultimately, Kallichore decided, it didn’t matter. What mattered most was that Nephthys, the senshi she had dedicated herself to protecting and guiding, was in need of medical attention. Leaning gently on the super senshi, Kallichore concentrated enough to transfer from the excess energy from her moon into Nephthys. It wouldn’t heal any wounds, but would grant the dark-haired young woman some extra energy and ease some of her pain. “...I think our battle is done here, Nephthys. Let’s get to a hospital and have these wounds treated.” We can’t protect the city if we’re too injured to move.

Covered in bruises and cuts and scrapes from being blasted around by the Greater Youma, Kallichore herself wasn’t anywhere near one-hundred-percent. However, as the more tenured of the two, she took it upon herself to shoulder some of Nephthys’ body weight and start walking in the direction of the more densely-populated city streets. Surely someone there could point them in the direction of the hospital. Ah, they should power down as well, once prying eyes were otherwise occupied.

Leaning into the other, trying to not put her full weight into the others side, the senshi of vampires nodded her head lazily. "Mmm, both of us need it." They were both injured and she make sure the other was seen also, Kallichore wouldn't get away with being treated last or not at all - same time. They could have beds next to each other if need be, to assure they both got looked after.

The boost in energy was appreciated and met with a content sigh from the dark haired senshi. "Think we did well?" She questioned gently, not wanting to raise her voice too loud. She didn't want to be heard and she was just sore and beaten up, raising her voice took too much effort and energy.

"The one with you...is he ok?" Where was he and how close was he to Kallichore? Shouldn't they find him as well? Someone had him but who and where? She didn't pry further, didn't ask more questions, as that also took more energy than she possessed at the moment. As she glanced about she waited until it seemed they were well covered so she could power down, hoping the other would do the same. She really didn't think wandering about as they were was a good idea, she could not out run an angry person or cops if it came to it.

No worries! Sorry about the wait on the start!

Kallichore powered down as soon as the coast was clear, doing her best to help the two of them walk the distance they needed to in order to find help. How would they explain this to Genevieve's parents? Why would the girls be near the power plant so late at night? Well... these injuries didn't have to have anything to do with the power plant... perhaps they were out and about and were assaulted... With a sigh, Christa decided they would cross that bridge when they came to it.

"We did very well, all things considered." said she, exhausted, but thankful they both made it out alive. "The youma is gone, which I think was the greatest threat. Even more so than the General. Greater Youma like that are incredibly rare, but also incredibly threatening. Leaving one alive, you risk entire districts of the city... I've only ever seen one other..." Which is what gave birth to the monstrosity, Tanzanite... But that was well into the past.

Genevieve's question about Themisto made her stomach churn just slightly. Exhausted as she was, fumbling down the street and just keeping upright was difficult. She did recall yelling to that boy to take Themisto to a hospital. "...I think so. The with me, that was Themisto. He's my younger brother. He recognized the senshi from the distress signal and ran off before I could talk some sense into him... He's a good kid, despite his obvious lack of common sense..."

With a chuckle, the girls stumbled into a well-populated area, where a taxi driver offered them either a phone, or a ride to the hospital. Not wanting to risk any extra medical expenses, Christa opted for the ride since both of them were still conscious, and they wouldn't have to wait for the ambulance and police to arrive. "...is that alright with you, Genevieve?"

"That was....I didn't expect a youma so big - or so many." But the bigger surprise had been the massive youma. Not only was it big and it's aura immense and dark but the power it had displayed. The fact they'd managed to kill it was still a surprise to her, she had thought they hadn't enough numbers to do it. It hadn't just been the lacking numbers but how injured people were becoming as the fight had continued on. She had been sure they wouldn't be able to finish the fight - but they had.

"I wonder how long till they get power back on." Though they had gotten off lucky, hadn't they? The damage could have been worse - a lot worse judging by the size of that youma. There was also the issue of the General, as Christa brought up, and what had happened with them...

"Your brother...I hope he's ok." That was a shock, a big one. The other had a brother who was also a senshi and he'd been pretty badly beaten in the fighting tonight. She hoped he was ok, that they could find him and make sure he was ok. She could understand what he'd done though, running off without much thought when a friend was in danger, she just hoped he'd be ok. Maybe they should call the local hospitals and look for him?

"It's fine, we need it after tonight." She answered leaning on the other, while also supporting Christa's weight. Oh, what a sight they must make right now. But she was ok - they would be ok. This came with being a senshi and was something to get used to - to accept.

Sorry about the wait!

Senshi business would have to wait while the two women were in the taxi. Christa briefly explained their reasoning - ambulances were extremely expensive and a taxi would be paid immediately. It was more discrete, quieter. Besides, there were others in the area more injured than the girls were, and those people needed the ambulance more than they did. The taxi driver seemed to accept this story at least superficially, and sped off to the nearest hospital at their request.

The driver, a gruff, older-looking man of African descent, had immediately asked why the girls were in this part of town, and what had happened. Christa had already formulated a cover story for the two of them - Christa was researching terrorist activity for an article she intended to write for the Destiny City University paper and had heard commotion in the area. Genevieve was a good friend who was assisting, and was worried about the “terrorist threat”. The gray-haired woman was used to being under pressure, and handling it was something she was adept at. Warmer, more compassionate topics went to Genevieve, whose friendly demeanor made things so much easier.

With that story in mind, the taxi driver pulled into the hospital parking lot and let the girls out, offering to have them lean against him for support. Christa declined. She was much more concerned with Genevieve and Zachary’s conditions. This being the closest hospital to the power plant, it was highly likely Zach would be here. “I’m sure there are others out there who might need your help, sir. Thank you.” Pushing the forty dollars Christa had into the man’s hands, she turned towards the hospital.

“...for what it’s worth, Genevieve, I’m proud of you. Facing threats like that is terrifying, but so much a part of what we do to keep people safe… You’re very brave, not running away when you had the chance to.”

Genevieve had spoken up, every so often, during the cab ride. Adding in that she had been there to make sure her friend would be safe. They hadn't seen what had happened to cause the power to go out, and she had lost her little container of mace in the darkness. She had fluffed up the story Christa gave as she sought to explain away why she was there as well.

The story though was an amazing cover and one she wouldn't' have thought of, she'd have flailed about for what to say and where to start. Christa however seemed a natural at it and so she had jumped in to help just a bit.

When the man did arrive at the hospital and offered to help them, let them lean on him, she had jumped in again and shaken her head. "No! We're good. With this blackout there are likely to be more people in need and accidents happening. You should head home and be safe.." With power out and the traffic lights out he should head home and stay in if at all possible - for his own safety. She would rather see him headed home in order to keep safe, they would get themselves inside.

It was once he had left, with forty dollars from Christa, that Genieve smiled over to the other. "I may not be a fighter and I may be new. But I don't run from friends especially friends in need." She was, if nothing else, loyal to her friends and to those she wanted to help. Christa was a friend...right now her closest, as none of her other friends knew about her being a senshi. "I can't run from everything...if I do I can't help people...and I don't want to let those I care about down." Now if only she could gain a bit more courage and return to her creepy a** planet, or was it a star? She'd honestly never thought to look into that. She just thought of it as a planet since it had homes and had once had people living on it...

"I hope your brother is here and alright." Moving to wrap an arm about the other and help them both inside the hospital. "Do we tell them we got caught in the mess at the power plant and don't know what we saw...just a lot of chaos?" She asked softly, in a whisper. "Blame it on the terrorism in the city."

I hope this is okay, I'm just makin' stuff up as I go, haha~

The woman with charcoal hair gave a deep sigh before walking with Genevieve through the automated hospital doors. "...I hope he's here too, Genevieve. But... yes, blame it on the terrorism... It's probably for the best."

The senshi in the chef's outfit that took Themisto away, Christa had placed her hopes on his ability to keep her brother safe. Knowing he had to have powered down, she theorized she could give his name and her relation to him to a nurse to find out if he was even here. Before she could do so, however, the girls were approached by two concerned orderlies - a man and a woman. The girls weren't in the best of shape, quite obviously, and were pulled (figuratively) further into the hospital for assessment.

Lacerations, swelling, possible bruised ribs, bruising...

When asked what had caused these injuries, Christa refused to be separated from Genevieve. Not only to keep their story straight, but to give herself the peace of mind that the raven-haired girl was being cared for properly. Terrorism seemed to have answered most of the assessor's questions, with one man shaking his head and ranting about how the youth of the city were involved in something worse than drugs. Somehow, drugs were better than domestic terrorism and running around in short shirts, proclaiming to be fighting in the name of a planet. According to the assessor, not only were the youth of Destiny City involved in terrorism, but mental illness must have played a factor.

Christa shot Genevieve a quizzical look.

All in all, both women were told they should at least stay overnight for observation and should consider making police statements. Christa, however, was only concerned about whether Genevieve was alright, and whether her brother was in this hospital. It was confirmed that indeed, Zach was being kept for treatment, though that information was withheld until Christa could present her ID as proof of relation. With a relieved sigh, the girls were brought to a shared room to spend the night.

At least they were safe now. "Genevieve, are you alright? I know it will take some time to... unpack everything that happened. Themisto is alright, though. He's safe here."

"Easy to believe in this city. Though it makes the problem seem worse." Though it wasn't good either but it did make the issue plaguing this city seem worse than it was, added more injured people to the growing tally. They weren't innocent people caught in the crossfire...though they had been injured by terrorists and during. It was just easier to give the half truth that this was.

The fact the doctor assessing them thought drugs were better than terrorism almost made her laugh. and she really wasn't sure why. But it was amusing to her, maybe because this didn't seem so bad to her? Drugs were worse in her mind as they took more of a mental and physical toll on a person than this war did...most of the time anyway. Tonight was just one of those special times when the war really hit you...and hard.

It seemed bruises, lacerations, deep bone bruises and maybe a minor concussion were the injuries for tonight. At least nothing was broken, she was happy about that and she didn't need stitches. The story they told was easy enough, and seemed to answer everything - as she figured it would. In this city it always seemed to b an answer for injuries, you could likely use it to answer why you were late for school, work, other meetings...it was an easy excuse for everything including living.

She hadn't wanted to stay the night but seeing as Christa's brother would be kept for the night, and knowing she wasn't prying the other away, she relented and let herself be led to another room with the dark grey haired female. Once they were safely inside and settled into beds she looked over to the other and nodded her head. "I'm fine. I don't get involved often, and nothing like this, but I'm ok. I know what I got myself into so long ago...and I can accept it." She could accept it a whole lot easier now, she had a friend in this...she wasn't alone.

"I'm glad your brother is safe. I should send a text to my parents to let them know." And she did move to do that, assuring them as much as she could over a text that they were indeed fine, just observation, and they'd be home by noon in all likelihood. No, they didn't need to come down or take the day off. They were both fine. Sitting there typing away to them, assuring them as much as she could, she flashed the other a smile. "I'm glad I met you...that I'm not alone in this. It makes it all easier."

Second one~

Exhaustion was weighing down her eyelids. Christa realized she’d nearly fell asleep during Genevieve’s conversation and chuckled to keep herself awake. Being kept overnight for observation wouldn’t hurt them, but Christa couldn’t help the feeling that perhaps it was an overreaction on the doctor’s part. With such heavy exhaustion, she thought, perhaps it wasn’t such an overreaction after all.

Watching Genevieve typing away on her phone so quickly, Christa was impressed. “Are they alright? Your parents, I mean. Your thumbs are so nimble on that tiny device…” She was never the most technologically-savvy person, senshi or otherwise. She preferred phone calls over text, and handwritten letters over emails. Technology was much less personal, much colder than paper and ink.

“I’m… blessed to have met you, Genevieve.”

The admission came quietly from the older of the two, and while it hung in the air, Christa closed her eyes to analyse it. More than anything, Genevieve was accepting and patient, willing to learn as much as Christa was willing to teach. All in all, the raven-haired girl had taught the teacher so much that sometimes Christa thought perhaps she wasn’t needed after all. Genevieve had been much more active in the war than she had, and filled in all the historical gaps. Spending so much time on the moon imparted a kind of wisdom, but it meant nothing if it could not be disseminate among willing listeners.

She wondered then what station the Nephthys of the past had held, and what their civilization was like. It would be something to explore in the future.

“I think I’d like to visit my brother tomorrow morning. You’re welcome to join, Genevieve. You deserve to know who we were with during the battle, though I don’t know who the man in red was. I don’t think I’ve seen him before…” A friend of Themisto’s, perhaps?

"They are fine, they just worry about us." She answered and held up a hand to cover up a yawn, she too was tired. She could feel it slowly the rest of her down. Her fingers were still quick, thankfully, as they moved over the little on screen keys which she tapped out forming words and then sentences as she sent things to her parents. "I've got practice texting." Genevieve added laughing softly, dark blue eyes bright, though tired, as they looked over to the other.

"I'm also blessed. You've helped me a lot and given me a friend in this whole thing - something I didn't have before. It's one reason I did so little." She had done more since meeting the other than she had since becoming a senshi, she was sure of it. "I think, no - I know. I know I could handle returning to my creepy planet with you." Last time it had creeped her out too much and she hadn't been back since. She knew she could return now, with the other at her side. She could do a lot now.

"It's a rather...dark and gothic feeling place...I didn't look outside though." But it had an air to it that most vampire movies seemed to have..a dark sort of gothic home with an older sort of rich feel but there was that darkness right there in the background but only just so. And the emptiness of the place had only made it so much creepier to her.

her thoughts were pulled away from that place as the other mentioned her brother and she found herself nodding her head and smiling as she put her phone down. "That sounds good to me, I'd like that."

We can either wind it down here or we can tack on the girls visiting Zach's room. It's up to you, whichever you would prefer!

"We'll have to go home soon, so as not to worry them. I know your parents are usually very busy, but... it's comforting to know they worry about you nonetheless." It humanized the rather wealthy couple, proving they cared more about their child than the acquisition of money. Keeping them from the hospital would be difficult, but if anyone achieve such a thing, Genevieve could. Christa trusted that Genevieve could buy them the time to devise a story to give to her parents.

The thought of visiting Nephthys made a smile creep across Christa's face. It was a testament to Genevieve's willingness to confront the things she feared most. Focusing on improvement rather than wallowing in their injuries was something the older senshi could really commend. "I'd like to see it. It sounds... interesting. It's always a pleasure to see how different each senshi world is. No two are alike. We'll rest and care for our injuries, then we can plan to take a visit."

Another yawn struck her and Christa shook her head. "...I'm not sure how much longer I can keep my eyes open... It might be time to sleep..." A third yawn and Christa settled into the bed, wrapping the thick blankets around her. She didn't realize how cold she had the luxury of multiple blankets.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 26, 2017 9:01 pm

"We have till tomorrow by non. We can stay here till then." She said with a nod of her head. Long dark brown hair falling about her in silken strands. A few of those strands fell about her face, a bit into her eyes even. "I'm glad they care so much - it makes this hard though."It always would. Lying to them and knowing she was making them worry and then having to soothe things over. But she wouldn't turn her back on being a senshi - not any time soon anyway.

"No two are alike...I wonder...with so many potentially out there." She whispered before shaking her head a bit, a mistake as she had vertigo from that. The room spun and she stilled herself till it stopped, she really didn't like head injuries. She was sure of that now.

"I agree." Nodding her head slowly she shifted and moved further down her bed and pulled up her blankets. Settling into sleep as well. Tomorrow they would check in on Christa's brother and they would go home tomorrow. Now though - now they would sleep.
