Arseno tapped his fire pick on the ground a bit as he waited for the lieutenant who had wanted to spar meet up with him. Although he would have chosen somewhere inside of Destiny City, he had figured that it would be better to spar in one of the training areas in the Negaverse itself. That way they were less likely to be interrupted by someone from the White Moon. Arseno had wanted this to be a training session only, as he had to admit to himself that he still didn't have the skills necessary to really be effective when physically fighting with someone else.

He usually relied on his poker as a crutch and hadn't yet been able to bring himself to hurt someone too badly, even if his own life was in danger. So, doing this all in the Negaverse, he felt as though it would give him some confidence and one thing less to worry about. The lieutenant, Uvarovite if he was remembering the name correctly, had been wanting to find someone to spar with, and since Arseno still wasn't confident in his skills as a captain, he figured he would at least be a good sparring partner for a lieutenant.

He was running a little late for his appointment but hopefully the Captain wouldn't be too perturbed. The Rift was still a strange place to him and he was prone to getting lost. Thankfully someone else had pointed him in the right direction and he spotted the Captain waiting for him.

"Forgive my tardiness. I am afraid this place still doesn't quite make sense to me yet." He tipped his head in a slight bow before pushing his hat up just a tad straighter so he could see the other man.

Arseno nodded his head in acknowledgement. "It's quite all right. I understand, I still have trouble myself down here sometimes." He replied, looking at the other. He held out his hand. "I know we've talked already, but my name is Arsenopyrite." It was always better to get formal introductions done anyway. It was easier for him to remember the other's name then.

He mulled over what he was going to say next for a bit. "I know we came here to spar for a bit, but is there anything specific that you would like to practice during our spar?"

"Uvarovite." He shook the other agents hand. So far everyone he'd met was rather friendly which wasn't exactly what he was expecting. It was much better than the alternative though.

The question made him chuckle though. "I am an old man who is out of practice with hand to hand. And until I acquire something better than this," He pulled a gold pocket watch out of his coat, holding it up. "That is what I am stuck with."

Arseno nodded once again, though he was feeling a bit nervous. This lieutenant seemed older than he was, surely the man would have had more experience than he did? Well, perhaps he could learn something from Uvarovite then.

"Yes, I'm not sure why they give lieutenants such things. It's like they don't trust them with weapons or something. They probably think that we're going to poke our eyes out or something if we have anything sharper than a butter knife." Or perhaps it was just so that they could learn to rely more on hand-to-hand combat rather than their weapons.

"All right, let's get started then." He replied, uncrossing his arms and waiting for the other to get in position. "If you want, you can throw the first punch, and then we'll go from there."

"Given the ages of some of the people who are recruited? I believe thinking they might poke their eyes out is a good assessment." He laughed, taking a step back so he could look the other man over. It was hard to tell given the man's uniform but he was going to guess he wasn't going to be a weakling.

He swing his watch around, letting the chain wrap around his hand. It was still the best used he'd found for the thing even if it meant he was forced to get up close and personal.

"As you wish." His grin shifted toward a smirk as he closed the distance between them again, aiming a fist at the other man's gut.

Arseno tried to be as ready as possible for anything the lieutenant might throw at him. Just because he was a captain, that didn't meant that he somehow automatically had more fighting skills than someone below his rank. No, it would only be more embarrassing for the other to find out how bad he was. After all, why would anyone be promoted if they couldn't fight?

He noticed that the other decided to use the watch almost like a brass knuckle. Arseno would have to be careful of that. Even if lieutenant weapons were supposed to be a joke, embedded glass wasn't something he wanted in his skin.

Quickly, the other shot out a fist at him, and Arseno used his left hand to push the extended arm away from it's source and pushing the other so that Arseno could get behind him.

Someone had been taking self defense training.

Uvarovite smirked as grabbed the other man's arm with his other hand, using the momentum to keep himself facing the Captain. He'd expected retaliation from the weapon he carried not what he'd received. The move left him slightly open but he'd rather have bruised ribs than a bruised spine.

"Come now Captain. You're supposed to fight me. Not push me around."

Arseno grunted a bit as his arm was caught. He had to admit he did tend to be easy on lieutenants, just in case they had been like he was, with absolutely no fighting skills whatsoever. But Uvarovite was okay with more, and so that's what Arseno would do.

"All right then. I'll step it up a level." He replied, before pulling on the arm that the other was holding and using his other arm to swing a fist at the other's chest. It probably was what the other was expecting, but he would go for it anyway.

He grunted as the Captain's fist came in contact with his chest, not able to get out of the way fast enough. He could hold his own in a fight but he still wasn't as the others who were often much younger than him. Something he'd still have to work on obviously.

Snarling slightly he hooked a foot around Arseno's ankle before yanking. At least getting the captain on the ground would give him a chance to take a few steps back and catch his breath.

Although he was glad that his fist had connected, he knew that the lieutenant would retaliate.

Arseno suddenly felt his leg being thrown off balance and he himself falling towards the ground. There were two things he could do at this point. He could either let himself fall, or he could teleport just behind the lieutenant. Both of them had their problems though. The first was possibly hitting his head or back and getting seriously hurt, though hopefully not as much as he would be without the magical healing powers he gained while being powered.

The second was a drain on his energy, which would leave him tired and probably not able to dodge as much as he should.

However, before he was able to think too much on it, he had found himself teleported behind the lieutenant, after thinking about doing it for a bit and considering his options. He felt the sudden energy drain, though it wasn't too much. Just enough to notice for right now.

He wasn't sure if he wanted to let the lieutenant be able to get himself turned around or if he should try the leg sweep again. He sighed. "I apologize, I have a bit of an advantage being able to teleport, but unfortunately your enemies won't be so nice to you on the field." And with that, he swept his leg at the Uvarovite, though he made a silent promise that he wouldn't teleport again.

Please tell me if you think I'm making Arseno too OP.

When the Captain disappeared for a moment he cursed. He knew they could do that but hadn't figured the Captain would want to draw on his energy like that. Tourmaline generally only did it when she had to and had remarked before when moving both of them it wasn't easy to do. It was something their enemies couldn't do though so why use it?

Other than the unfair advantage.

And it was an advantage. With the Captain behind he couldn't exactly stop his legs from being knocked out from under him. What he could do was catch himself so he at least didn't land oddly. Twisting quickly so he ended up on his knees he snarled before launching himself at the Captain's legs.

Unless he wanted to teleport again there wasn't much room for the other man to get away and he intended to drag Arsenopyrite down to the ground with him.

SSBrosB
He does have some advantages, Uv knows how to bar-brawl though

Arseno watched as the lieutenant fell... straight onto his knees. The captain was quite surprised that Uvarovite didn't grunt out in pain or something. The knees were generally not something one wanted to land on.

Suddenly he felt his legs being grabbed and could tell that the lieutenant was trying to wrestle him to the ground. Arseno tried his best to kick back, but unfortunately was pulled to the ground. Though when he was, he launched a fist at Uvarovite, hoping he would make enough of an impact to let go.

Funny, this reminded him of another fight he had with a different lieutenant...

The Captains' fist connected with his shoulder enough to drag a hiss of pain out of him. He didn't want to let go of the other or give up the fight but that was the arm he'd injured previously and the Captain's punch was enough to awaken the pain of that injury as well.

Knowing they were not in a real fight he let go and sat back, holding a hand up. "I yield, before you do any permanent damage to me."

There was still a smirk on his lips but he knew his limits. He obviously needed to work a bit more on his fighting skills but he wasn't willing to injure himself to do so. He couldn't be effective ind dealing with the Order if he let someone else from the Negaverse hurt him.
