Sitting daintily on the grass, Orcus gazed around her with a faint expression of fondness. This had been the spot where she'd first met Remarque and been challenged to become something more. It seemed fitting that this spot should also be where she bade Remarque goodbye. Of the two dark mirror royals, he was the one she most trusted. And after his show of faith in her, it was only right that she talk to him before she changed her life again.
With that thought in mind, she pulled out her compact and whispered a message into it.
"Hello, teacher mine. If it's not too much trouble, perhaps we could spar a little and you can teach me a new move or two? Also, I kind of need to talk to you."
She trusted in the compact to deliver her message. So, until Remarque showed up, she might as well relax.

It wasn’t that they had a specific meeting place, but when Remarque was meeting up with Orcus he always thought of here. So, when she called him, naturally that’s where he went. It took a mirror and a two minute walk for him to reach her. He didn’t bother replying; he was a man of action more than words. His energy signature appeared nearby and he assumed she would know that it was him. He traveled straight for her, in the form of an Eternal Senshi so as not to draw too much attention.
When he was near enough, he raised a hand in greeting and called her name. “You know sparring is never too much trouble,” he added when he was just a few feet away. “What is trouble is sending a vague message about needing to talk and not telling me what’s on your mind. You all right?”

A look of mingled sadness and relief flickered across her face before Orcus moved her hands to pull her hair back out of her face in preparation for sparring. That was the nice thing about Remarque, she thought. He could be sneaky, but when it counted, he was as forthright as anyone could wish.
"I'm not sure if I am or not. Can we spar a little first, please?"
All perfectly truthful. She wasn't sure if she was okay or would ever be okay again. But she thought the sparring might help her figure out how best to broach the subject she wanted to discuss.
"Please? This is important to me."

Though Remarque had a look of undeniable curiosity, he did not pry further. “If it’s important to you, it’s important to me,” he decided. “We can spar for a bit. What have you been practicing?” he asked.
He rolled his shoulders and seemed to easily slip into a fighting stance. It had been a while since he had been boxing, but it seemed like his default sparring position was not so different from what he might have taken up in the ring. He raised both of his arms in front of him, hands curled into fists and shifted position on his feet. “—What do you want to work on? Magic, defense, everything?” He wasn’t particular, he just wanted to make sure she was getting the best out of this session. Not wanting to waste her time, he added, “Go ahead, when you’re ready.”

"Thank you," she said softly before grinning faintly. She thought of the sparring match she'd had with Kobayashi and nodded to herself. "Mostly I've been practicing different kicks. Even enhanced, I'm afraid my upper body strength isn't up for serious punching."
Which was why she'd spent so much of her life prior to becoming a senshi simply learning where to hit to cause maximum damage. It was easier to beat someone up if she knew the danger points and not have to rely on brute force.
Watching Remarque, she found herself mirroring his movements almost unconsciously.
"Defense would be perfect," she said, face and voice quite serious. "I strongly suspect I'm going to need it to keep myself alive one of these nights."
It was all she could bear to say at the moment. It was just too bad that there wasn't an easier way to bring up everything that had been going on recently in her life. Still, her leader was inviting her to get things rolling, so it would be polite to do so. Narrowing her eyes, Orcus decided that throwing a couple simple punches would work well enough. It was just a pity that Remarque was so much taller. She had to aim her punches for his torso rather than his face.

Dealing with punches seemed to be a comfort zone for Remarque; he weaved around what he could and blocked the rest. After a few hits he nodded; he didn’t ask her to stop but didn’t see the harm in giving her feedback while he was on the receiving end of her blows. “Your upper body strength isn’t bad. You’d do fine in a pinch. But if you’re good with your kicks, don’t be afraid to stick to them. I’m going to start throwing punches,” he warned.
“If someone’s throwing a punch, watch their eyes. Hits need to be coordinated and the eyes are just as much—if not more so—a giveaway than posture or predicting. Especially in novice fighters, they always look where they’re going to hit before they actually do it. For example,” for a split second his he drifted to her shoulder and then back to her face; he drew his arm back and aimed a weak punch towards her shoulder.
If she wanted to spar, wanted to work on her defense, he’d do what he could to try and give her any tips that might help keep her in one piece.

For a moment, Orcus looked as if she wanted the argue, her mouth even opened briefly before snapping shut. She'd always watched the hands or body on the whole. But watching the eyes... Yes, she thought, that would make things a little easier for her. At least while people were trying to punch her.
She let Remarque's punch hit, she'd been too lost in her own thoughts to properly dodge. Shaking herself, she forced her mind back to the present and bowed her head briefly in apology.
"Can the same principle be applied to weapons," she asked. They'd barely even begun and she was already tired. The effects of sleepless nights and worry, she figured. Well, and fretting over the real reason she'd wanted to see Remaque. Asking to fight was simply a decent cover story.

“Don’t apologize to me,” Remarque said simply; he drew back for a moment to allow her to readjust while he answered her question. “It depends on the weapon. Unless you know how the weapon operates it can be hard to predict where it’s going to go. Your opponent is always going to know their weapon better than you. Bodies might come in all shapes and sizes, but they all share the same basic anatomy. If I’m going to punch, you’ve got a pretty good idea of what it’s going to look like. With weapons,” he shrugged. “A sword moves differently than an axe and an axe moves differently than a flail and that moves differently than the hundred other weapons you might see. I’d recommend doing some research on weapons. Youtube some people showing off their skills, try to find clues they drop before they attack.”
There was really only so much you could do; even a weapons’ expert could predict or know how to defend against everything.
“Most of the weapons you’re up against won’t be lethal so you’ve got a little room to relax at least, yeah?” he suggested. His hands were raised to attack again but he was already raising a brow again. “…Are you okay? You look like you’re a little too tired to be out here fighting. You shouldn’t be pushing yourself if you’re not taking care of yourself. You know you can call me any time for a spar.”
