Life begins with a simple overcast as it rains sunshine amongst the world.
Stepping from your basket is a new experience breathing in the scents and sounds only muffled before. So much to learn as your tiny hooves step within that soft grass sliding upward tickling your underbelly. Yet, discouragement never was an option till morning when odd things fell from the sky sending chills down one's spine. Finding a large willow tree thick with shelter a young filly stood shivering trying to avoid the distraction as it cascaded downward from the huge sky. Dutifully noting the now bleak appearance to a once bright blue ocean overhead.
"You won't get me here rain. No matter how much to try" she murmured with a nod toward the pitter patter of droplets as they leapt off of the grass downward like small dancers. Her small bay saturated coat in areas caused her shiver again making her ponder why this rain had to ruin her morning. Looking out in the distance a figure caught her attention blurry at first then she realized it was Brisi walking out in the rain.
"Hurry up it will make your coat all soggy!" she called out with a distinctive pitch neither annoying or too low even if it squeaked outward when she tried to yell. Brisi was a caretaker to her much like her older brother Takoda whom was very tall when he stood solidly next to her. A strong bloodline he told her in reference to their parents. Watching him "dance" as he called it his passion though she loved watching Brisi join him. They were amazing together with the dark and light color as they moved in circles around each other. Thinking a moment the young filly looked awkwardly down at her small legs ending in tiny hooves, "Will I be a "dancer" as well?" she asked herself usure. Being a few days from her basket she had a lot to learn from both her brother and Brisi. Perhaps someday they'd have fillies of their own she'd intern teach her special talent to.
Suddenly, she squeaked as a creature zig zagged itself straight toward her causing her now drying backside to get spattered with the chill of rain again. "Paloma!" she scolded as her hooves carried her back to the safety of the tick overhanging foliage tree. That little creature she learned was called a goat which were unpredictable and overambitious. Rightfully so since she tended to run into things such as now. Seemed she wasn't fond of the rain either causing the young filly to giggle in spite of herself. Noting Paloma had run into the base of the tree caused the young foal to shake her head, "You'll lose your marbles that way" she scolded still feeling dampness in her rump.
"Did you have to scare me like that though? Now my butt is all wet thanks to you" she spoke looking up to see Brisi now before her, "You know you're getting wet right?" she asked in a confused head tilt as the once Palomino mare now looked drenched like the grasses and leaves around her.

As the rain trickles downward you can't help but smile for sunshine comes in many shapes and forms.
Morning woke with crying eyes as the day which was once blue with the sun's warmth now seemed bleak and depressing. While others ran for cover a single mare stood quietly letting each drop ping off her golden pale coat feeling the cool kiss of nature soak inward. While yes it sent shivers she refused to run and hide letting the sunshine in the form of rain smile upon her. Tossing her head she felt her hair stick to her neck but there was no irritation from it. Here the land was open and free with rain pure as one's beating heart. Until a downpour reared its head like a cobra she was fine to admire nature regenerating itself.
Today though was her time with Arlana whom was fresh to the world among the others. Four fillies to be exact ranging in colors from both Ardia and Sheridan; Takoda's parents. She felt genuine love from them all as her welcoming acceptance was warm and overly enjoyed the day Takoda brought her home to his parents. Both were like Celendria carrying the prestige of elders yet their energy was still untamed like the ice mare. Elder years meant taking a step forward yet being oneself as if they were still as young as the herd. Arlana though seemed very calm like her mother a deep bay beauty brushed in white along her chest and hindquarters. Much deeper than Takoda who carried a distinctive paint pattern along his coat. Such a beautiful family of naturals she'd someday contribute to with her own bloodline running strongly with his.
As the rain picked up she moved a little faster though her walk seemed slow and subdued letting her senses take in the freshness of the world around her. A sudden higher pitched noise though caught her attention as it emanated from the willow tree. Leaving her admiration of nature behind she moved a little faster toward the small charge she was watching over today while her mate was out gathering forage for the three of them.
"Arlana" she mused as she made her way under the giant tree, "Are you afraid of the rainfall? I bet you don't know what happens after the rain soaks into the ground do you? It brings the world to life as the flowers begin to grow."
Moving in closer they both were fully soaked while Arlana's fluffy coat was drying the fastest. She would indeed grow into a fine mare Brisi nodded worthy of a mare as admiring as Takoda.
When Paloma came crashing in under the tree with them in her comical entrance the Irish mare couldn't help but laugh. Not only had they both been spooked but Arlana's rump became saturated as she spooked herself out into the heavy downpour now. It seemed nearly yesterday she finally accepted Takoda into her heart giving her insight to love which she once guarded preciously.
"Paloma" she mused, "How nice of you to join us". Brisi was sweet tempered leaving her to answer with softness in her replies. It was a rarity anything ever irritated or gave her a bad complex.
"Goats will be goats" she laughed then turned to Arlana, "So what would you like to do today?" A definite Girls day out for them if the rain would let up that is. Till then Brisi found contentment listening to her small charge grumble about the rain as it poured downward making the world green again.

Raining Sunshine that's the namesake she bestowed to this day...
Still befuddled that Brisi didn't mind the cold pelting droplets Arland looked at Paloma, "You like the rain too?" she asked with a shake of her head. Paloma being a goat was both amusing and perplexing all in the same. Curious creatures goats were to such a small filly. Turning her head she looked up at Brisi because now she was put on the spot, "Do today? It's raining so we can't do much of anything". Her voice mellowed from its curious manner to a spoiled sadness being stuck under the tree. Pawing at the ground with her tiny hoof she gave a side glance to the the now falling rain that covered everything in a mist. "Brisi? Why do you call it raining sunshine? The sun is warm and rain is really cold. How is it sunshine that is happy when rain is really sad?"
Shaking her little head she frowned again then looked upward into kindness that mirrored gentle eyes. Her big brother had chose a lovely mate for her compassion knew no bounds. Not even the rain's sadness could destroy the simplicity of an Irish mare's laughter. If the rain would just cease then sure she would go galloping awkwardly into unknown letting the puddles of water splash around her. Those were the best times she could remember but then again getting dancing lessons from her brother and Brisi were the best of all. "Um maybe if the rain goes away then we can dance again?" she mused trying to stay positive not revealing she was highly disappointed the rain would be so mean.
Perhaps it would sense her thoughts and dry up its tears because it sure didn't look like sunshine no matter how she looked cross-eyed positively at it.

Little minds create entirely new thoughts but they always brought out the laughter if you listened carefully...
Brisi knew in a foal's mind that there would always be clouds instead of sunshine. The rain especially made the little anxious filly downtrodden waiting out the disliked rain. Brisi simply smiled for she too was a filly ages ago staring out at the rain in disappointment. It was the kind old mare named Ceridwen that taught her about the necessity for rain. Brisi accepted the idea faithfully learning as she aged that rain is what kept the world alive with life. Much like the warmth of the sun both rain and sky had a purpose. An impish thought quickly crossed her mind though Takoda would scold them both if they followed through. Seeing that the downpour was now decreasing toward a trickle she smiled at Arlana, "We most certainly can and even jump in the muddy puddles. The thought brought laughter to Brisi being full grown jumping in puddles to splash about upon one another. Sure, she had grown into an elegant gentle mare filled with compassion but she too was a kid at heart.
"Look there Arlana" she called out joyfully, "See the storm is recessing so we'll be able to have a fun day after all. Smiling with a mirthful laughter she stepped out into the drizzle and kicked up her heels. Sure she'd be reprimanded for such coltish behavior but her heart was full of effervescence. Taking careful note she found the deeper holes filled with a muddy texture and trotted through them laughing. Muddy water splashed against her perfect palomino coat leaving a splattered pinto look of deep brown over her. "Ha ha come on Arlana!" she called out to the young filly. The only way to accept life was to live it leaving the gentle sweet mare to begin dancing as she stepped hard into the puddles splashing it over her. Sure she'd be a muddy caked mess but her happiness would overtake the guilt. Besides, another storm was setting in leaving her coat to soak in the coolness summer was bringing before the heat took over.

Raining Sunshine still brought rain but spirits prevailed over sadder thoughts...
Arlana scrunched her face stretching her little neck towards the outer limits of the treeline. Tiny delicate sprinkles pattered upon her muzzle causing a snort in disgust. Frowning she looked confused toward Brisi as she trotted out into the cold rain radiating not a care within the world. Though she was presumably a foal her breeding brought hope of the intelligence swirling within both her mother and father. This being the edge she needed to step bravely within the lingering shower. A small smile pursed upon her velvety muzzle watching the Palomino mate of her brother Takoda. She was very gentle in nature yet the rain made her coltish the way she kicked up her heels. Stepping forward Arlana shook her head in a silent fight between desire and placidness. Flicking her agile little tail she closed her eyes feeling that surge flow through her then bolted out in the rain hoping she wasn't regretting her final decision. At first it was cold as the pattering of rain melted into her baby fine fur giving her the notion returning to safety. Soon though she was squealing as her tiny hooves kicked up mud all around her while following Brisi. The rain was not a pure hindrance nor was it melting her into a puddle.
Laughter filled her heart as her little hooves kicked up behind her an offset whinny escaping from her throat, "Hee this is fun!" she exclaimed tossing her little head. Not even once complaining she chased after Brisi who in turn trotted a few steps ahead leading the filly toward something better than hiding beneath trees. Even as the rain picked up Arlana paid no mind following Brisi in a laughter that stayed firmly hidden before.

Laughter is a journey even when it's clearly lying within radiating such happiness to others...
Brisi being spattered in mud didn't mind the reprimand she faced from an adoring mate. Her goal completed lead a filly in disappointment to a joyous child toward laughter in the rain. While the droplets were a bit cool they seeped inward delivering a well round of back remedies older soquili sometimes faced in their adult years. Paying it no mind she trotted downward toward the stream within a few canters in arrival time. She noted Paloma had been following them in her own accord sometimes mocking the two in her joyous silliness. The thought amused Brisi of her mate an established passionate dancer being accompanied by an over effervescent goat. Still she nodded in agreement it was the little things in life that brought much needed smiles to all of us. Turning her head glancing backwards she smiled, "See Arlana? It's raining sunshine bringing happiness to everyone. Even Paloma is showing you". Brisi couldn't help herself in laughter when Paloma decided to go headfirst into the ground slipping on some wet summer leaves. Such a rambunctious little creature she was leaving Brisi thankful she got to witness such silly natures.
Moving to the North she trotted carefully showing Arlana where the safe routes lied. Her amusement swirled in surprise though came when Arlana started throwing out her hooves lifting her legs. Smiling she noted that Arlana was much like her father and brother carrying the desire and passion of the bloodline. Musing at the filly she slowed down starting her own dance to time along with Arlana. The rain had picked up once more but, her heart lied within the dance much like Takoda on that fateful moonlit night.
