 What happened before the war of old? Interesting questions to be asked for sure! It was a strange time and the races of the lands all hustled and bustled on their own agenda most of the time. Humans and Were beings tended to converse and gather together in their shared magic and natural fields. So it was only natural as well friendships could be forged and alliances made.
Just such a city stood in those days of old. Kragadansha. The city that floated upon the seas. Famed for its multilayered cityscapes and magic infused pillars that secured it to float along massive bodies of water, it accumulated all ranges of life from those wishing to establish trading routes, diving expeditions into the unknown as the city moved along the sea, or even mages looking to expand their knowledge of the world with the vast collection of tomes and libraries that were located in the city. If you mamaged to find the city while it voyaged across the ocean, you would find all this and more.
Most notably was a small group of individuals from all walks of life, happening to meet as the city was anchoring in the mages homeland for some regularly scheduled provision and trade runs. Within the city, a rather shy and nervous woman swims and darts through the waterways, eagerly clutching a bag along her back to ensure it remained dry as she approached one if the many libraries. What will happen next as strange tales from the Badlands continue to sprout up of the Faye and their bizzare magical ways...

I am designed to protect this land...
Navande was swift as she bolted and swam through the small channels that divided the massive floating city, her pace in the water with her half shifted body exceptionally faster than the people who walked along the paths. A watertight sealed pack on her back and panic on her face only to further strengthen the assessment she was late as usual. Tasked with bringing some extensive books and tomes of magic from the library for the store she worked at she was swift in her errand. Shame it was behind by several minutes since she got so caught up in talking with the help.
With each dash and curve of her tail through the water she picked up her pace, eager to ensure she's cut her delayed arrival as short as she possibly could. Just as she was arriving at the store near the northeast end of town she spotted the customers who had placed the request, her movement quick as she dove down suddenly to fly up from the water, managing to catch a good bit of air to clear a transit boat before stumbling and clumsily rolling to a landing, her finned torso shifting to legs as she skidded to a stop. She inhaled deeply and placed her face against the ground before them, apologizing profusely for her delay.
She rattled off plenty of excuses and mentioning of boats being in the way. As a whole she was being truthful but if she didn't lollygag at first well..."I'm so very sorry! B-but I managed to bring the books as requested!" she scrambled as she quickly lifted herself up and swung the watertight pack around, nervously unlatching it to present it to the two before her. "A-again I apologize! I hope you do not look unfavorably on our establishment!" she said almost in a routine like manner before giving a nervous smile, her hair naturally falling into her face from the water as she dripped slightly as well. The rather mousey assistant Navande continued to present the pack, hopeing she wouldn't be reported to the owner.

 Lava was standing in front of the store with her arms crossed, she seemed to yawn as she was standing there much like she was waiting for something, she had her typical attire on, her kimono that was cut halfway to be her upper half and her lower half being stockings of kinds. she wore her wooden sandals as well which she seemed to always have with the current outfit. as she was waiting she would soon eye the water as movement was being used inside of it, only to see something or rather someone flying from the water and landing on the ground doing a small roll as she would arrive on land. A mermaid was now at her feet bowing to her which made Lava actually chuckle. which mad lava uncross her arms and walk forward grabbing one of the books from the watertight pack when she opened it. "it would seem you did bring them...but are they the right ones?" she asked with a smirk before grabbing another and tossing it to her companion "see if that one is about the theory of blood magic please" she stated before opening the one she had "this one seems to be correct" she smirked before reaching her hand down to the bowing Mermaid, as to help her get up to stand "No need to keep apologizing, I don't care for time, as most of us have a long section of it thanks to magic" she told her "whats your name, Delivery girl" she asked seeing as the term delivery girl was going to be problematic for addressing her. " and don't worry about losing our favor to the establishment, this place is the best place to get such books"

☽Water Mage☾ Not far from the red head women in a kimono stood another figure, one with white hair. She wore a long white shirt with two straps on her right arm and her lower half of her body was only covered by bikini bottoms. She was leaning against a wall with her arms crossed just under her bosom. She was waiting for something, just like the red head. Just then a figure broke from the water, rolled a bit before landing on the ground. It was quite a display that got her companion chuckling. Aqua uncrossed her arms and grabbed the book as it was tossed to her. She flipped the book open and had a look of what laid inside. This one is also correct Came a soft voice from under the collar of her shirt. She closed the book before looking towards the Mermaid.
There is no need for apologizes like my companion said, time is of no meaning to us Miss.

...I messed up again...
Navande felt a surge of panic race through her as the one woman seemed to chuckle and inquire if she had indeed grabbed the books as requested. 'W-what? B-but I went and...i grabbed the right ones didn't I..? Oh no I probably didn't!' she thought as a nervous tap of her fingers against her hips started, eyes quickly scanning each tome as it flew to the one mages companion while she scanned the others. Navande was already writing it off as a failure before a hand extended to her. She paused before reaching out to grasp it, lifting herself to her feet with a small wobble of her freshly turned legs.
The statement of the books being correct and the confirmation of her companion caused a wave of relief to hit Navande, her head hanging for a moment before she straightened herself and smiled to the two. "Ah. My name is Navande." she said to the two mages before her with a small bow of acknowledgement. "I'm glad you are able to rely on our establishment. It can be difficult to have business with the city constantly moving." she said with a small smile as her right hand lifted to brush her hair aside from her face, water still dripping from her as she cleared her throat.
"May I be so bold as to ask your names? Do you wish to step inside? We may be able to ask about the city for more books if you like. " she said as her hand extended towards the large shop, her body already shifting to begin ushering them inside. The day was close to noon and the bustling city was easing into it's lunch hour, Navande already scanning through her mind to think of what she could manage for lunch since she had delayed this delivery so much. "I'm sure you're already aware but we do offer offices to study up on material and even cater to meals if you wish. " she pointed out clearly showing how new and eager she was to assist the two before her as much as possible. Business was business after all.

Lava would hand her book to Aqua as she would confirm it was also correct "perfect...that means we got all the books we need for this months magic" she confessed before looking to the mermaid "Navande...what an interesting name i'll admit that" she smiled as she would soon look to her companion smirking before looking back to the mermaid "Well this lack of clothing person here is my Servant and companion Aqua, And My name is Lava Codex of the Codex Clan of Magic" she told her "but simply Lava and Aqua will do" Lava seemed to do her own introductions of the two of them, though of course if Aqua wanted to add onto the introduction she wouldn't stop her but of course if she tried to add a detail that wasn't important she'd just invite ignoring "And um...sure why not...we did travel here and only spent an hour in the city...so i think we will take you up on the offer of coming inside...with catering which would be nice, to have some food of the city" she stated chuckling "lead the way then Miss. Navande" she stated crossing her arms.

☽Water Mage☾ Aqua would take the book that was handed to her before flipping through its content. She only rose her eyes when Lava spoke about her clothing. What can I say, I find this most comfortable She stated, sighing a bit. She would close the book. before glancing at Navande. Lava had already introduced the two to her so Aqua really had little else to add. So she thought to joke a little. Im actually her lover but she does not like to admit that She said in a half jokingly manner. You will see no disagreement on that offer, do lead the way, Miss.

Navande felt a small exhale leave her lips as they confirmed the books were legitimate and what they desired. She felt her shoulders sag a little with a content smile forming before Lava commented on her name. "I-is it? I don't really notice since the city is such a cluster of names and history.." she spoke with her left hand gently curling some of her strands of hair from her face. When Lava introduced herself and her companion Aqua Navande gave a warming smile and bowed her head respectfully. "Its an honor to meet you both. I don't see an issue with the attire if you are at ease. " she mentioned before looking back between the two.
When Aqua spoke up on the two of them Navande blinked and looked between the two before simply smiling and nodding. "An interesting looking couple indeed. But not in a bad sense. " she commented before they mentioned taking her offer and their wait in the city. "Ah. Did you arrive before the city departed or via teleport?" she inquired with a spark of interest showing before she motioned for them to follow her. It only took a minute for them to arrive at the location, a massive and multilayered building that extended both skyward and seaward. It was famous for being one of the oldest buildings in the city to still remain functional with the expansions.
Upon arrival a very irritated humanoid began shouting behind their desk towards Navande, a string of apologizing and next times sounding off before they finally let her go, noticing the return patrons and giving Lava and Aqua and smile and respectful bow. Once inside Navande motioned for them to take the stairway down, descending into a massive corridor lit with all array of plantlife and crystal like formations that eminated faint magic while also lighting the path. Bellow opened up a grand library teaming with books, littered with a few patrons here and there as some poured over volumes while others curled up on window like seats to overlooked the passing ocean.
Navande smiled widely before turning around to usher Aqua and Lava towards the alcoves designed for patrons wishing to dine and research, similar to the alcove from before but outfitted with all sorts of reading aids and curtains to keep prying eyes away. As some sea life swam by Navande presented the location, stepping back to grasp a quill and parchment that rested on a pillar beside the table along with a lone cord that disapered into the ceiling. "Ringing this will call for any sort of aid or need you might have. If you need a book just fill out a slip and leave it after ringing the cord. Now. " she explained before looking towards the two. "Would you care for any meal or drink of any kind? I know the specialty today is Étouffée if you'd care for a meal. Otherwise I can fetch anything else you need at the moment." she spoke with a smile, showing herself more like an all around help for the entire building rather than an errand runner.
...please don't notice...

"of course it is, Every name is interesting in their own way, some more than others, which to me yours is" she told her before Aqua spoke up "Swear to god.... Aqua for the last time we are not Lovers, You are my servant...stop making these jokes to confuse people" she told her with a glare before looking back at Navade "Just disregard her comments for now...if you wouldn't mind" she told her sighing. the mermaid would soon ask the about their means of transport "Oh normlly I use a type of teleporting but for this journey we arrived before it departed, but no worries on our returning" she added as she would soon follow the girl as she wanted them to follow her. when they arrived they found themselves now in front of a giant building, one that looked like it could house many and much. when they arrived inside a humanoid figure was shouting at her, which was strange maybe she was late or something from well, doing the request. following her again Lava would find herself going down some stairs and now be placed in a corridor with plant life and formations. now they would arrive at the library which was teaming with books which was a nice thing to see. She would find herself now in the area that they were being guided to, upon arrival she would sit down and looked at Navande "thank you...um sure I think we'll get the Specialty and As for liquid, I'll take some spiced Wine...if thats possible"

☽Water Mage☾ It is true, every name is interesting as my companion said. I without a doubt think your name is pretty lovely. She smiled softly at the mermaid before sticking her tongue out playfully at Navade and Lava's comments. Sorry... can't help it Lava hehe She stood back and listened as Lava explained their means of travel to this great city. Without saying anything more on the topics at hand, Aqua would follow right behind Navande and Lava. Her eyes surveyed the surrounds of the path they took before they arrived at a giant building. They would enter the building where a human would shout at Navande for some reason Aqua did not seem to care about.
She would continue to follow down the stairs, through a corridor before arriving in a library that housed many books. Her eyes would scan around the room as they group made their way towards an alcove where they could research as well as dine. Thank you and I'll take some mead if you have any
