[PRP] Too Close for Comfort (Rigel Trinity x Thierry)

Rigel scowled at his sister. She was currently explaining something and he was trying to tune her out. The idea of exploring the woods away from the place they called home was his. He rolled a small stone under his hoof and then launched it towards Thierry. "Enough sis. We should be exploring not talking. We don't have time to stop and look at plants. There is more exciting things out there."

He was scowling. Getting away from the protective eyes of their parents had been tough. In the end though it had been a small fib told by himself that allowed him and Thierry to go "looking for herbs." That was the lie ... in truth he and Thierry were itching for adventure.

Aella had warned them to stay close but Rigel wanted to go further away than planned. He wanted to find treasure. Or a monster and send it running. He needed something to do.

Thierry was glad to be out from under the observant eyes of her other siblings, they were far too protective for her own liking. After all, Rigel and her had been raised in the Swamp just as they had, it wasn't like they were inept or anything.

They'd used the excuse of herbs, and it'd been long enough since the last time they'd gotten into trouble to merit and new chance. But trouble wasn't anything they ever really looked for, it just kind of....found them.

Finally. He had managed to tear Thierry away by calling her a scaredy cat. That had gotten him an angry sister chasing after him. Flicking his tail in her general direction Rigel pulled a face and resumed playing keep away. The colt paused after a moment to catch his breath. He braced himself for any potential payback before scanning the area. There were hidden lakes around here that they had been told to avoid and yet the allure to explore them was just too great. "'Ree ... let's go check out the lakes?"

He never called Thierry by her true name. It was something that he'd come up with. It was his special name for her. He wasn't sure if she'd ever call him by a special name or not but he wasn't sure if it would be a flattering one if she found one.

Thierry was distinctly irritated with her brother at the moment, not that it mattered much. He did love to irritate her on purpose, but she kind of liked it. He was hers, her brother, a part of the other half of her. Maybe he was irritating at sometime, but she believed in basket to casket, birth to death. She would always depend on him no matter how annoyingly annoying he was.

She couldn't help but stick out her tongue at her brother as they moved through the glades and because of that she wasn't exactly watching where she put her feet.

For one chaotic moment, Thierry thought she was flying as she sailed down through the air. But then she realized, she was falling as she impacted painfully on the ground as she continued to tumble headlong into the swollen banks of a river.

Water seared her lungs fiercely, and she fought to find which way was top.

Her heart thundered in her ears and then something ominious and dark seemed to be moving beneath the water. Something truly terrifying unless she'd hit her head and was imagining things.

But air. She needed air!

He was looking right at Thierry when she turned around and stuck her tongue out at him. He closed his eyes and shook his head momentarily. When he opened his eyes he glanced around in shock. Where had Thierry gone? It was the sound of a loud splash that drew the colt to the edge of the hill. The swollen river below churned at the bank and it was in those waters that a flash of red. It was almost as if he was frozen. The shock would return but right now Thierry needed him.

Charging down towards the river Rigel jumped into the raging waters. Almost immediately did he realize his mistake. There was no purchase for his hooves and the current was dragging him further away from the shore. He swallowed a mouthful of water and sputtered in fear. He needed to save Thierry. But now he was in trouble too. "THIERRY!"

This was bad ... really really bad.

Through the swollen waters she swam freely, her body battered slighly by floating debris. But she was larger than any of the debris by far, so it was not concerning. She was looking for a few things that her mate had needed her to find at the river floor when she saw a dazzling sparkle of azure flailing in the water.

Interested, Nessie moved sleekly through the water and saw the foal floundering like a fish on dry land. Apparently, he'd decided to swim without knowing how. She let out a little sigh and moved toward the little foal and attempted to clamp onto his dark black hair to haul him to the surface.

Yeah, this was going to go well since most first reactions with her involved MONSTER. But not ever with L'inglesou.

L'inglesou was humming lowly following the dark shadow of his mate as she slid through the waters of the river. Her tail flicked, making a large slapping sound to get his attention.

Stopping his humming, he paid attention to the waters more closely. There bobbed up a little red hair with a body of splotches of dark blue and tan.

"Oui, mon chere," he whispered as an acknowledgment to Nessie though he knew she would not hear him. His soft hearted beauty was going for another bobbing blob of blue.

Wading into the water, he used his powerful tail to propel himself out to the red bobbing foal who was flailing wildly. His braids were drenched within moments and then he was there to the little panicking foal.



"Don't worry 'chile, I have you now.." He grabbed the back of her hair as one would a kitten and dragged her with him to the shore as she kicked and screamed obsceneties at him about how he did not have her and never would. And what we he doing, she had it under control and what had she done with his brother.

Without ceremony, he dumped her on the riverbank and moved back from the thrashing hooves of the little wildcat.

"You are not a very gracious 'chile," he smiled solemenly shaking out his hair.

He couldn't see. Where was Thierry? Rigel flailed helplessly in the water as it carried him further downstream and out of reach of both banks. Now he was certain that he was going to perish. Without him to help Thierry would almost certainly drown too. Their parents would be heartbroken at the realization that their foals weren't coming home.

Inhaling and swallowing a good amount of river water Rigel's legs kicked out once more in a futile attempt to find his way to the surface. It was at the point were he was going to give up that he registered that something was swimming really close to him. His imagination immediately conjured the worst scenario. |When his hair was caught in something and yanked towards the surface he closed his eyes in fright. was this the end of him?

Nessie pulled the struggling boy as close the shore as she could and rose up using her hooves to dig into the bank and deposit the foal by what appeared to be his spitfire little sister.

"You're brother is here," her voice was gravelly as she spoke and eased her way back into the water. She could feel the smile come into her eyes when she saw L'inglesou.

"Are you both okay now?"

Thierry flew to her brother, "ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" She threw herself onto him. They were going to get into SO much trouble, but he did seem to be breathing and well she was. And the monsters didn't seem to actually want to eat them....

Was he actually feeling the bottom of river against his hooves once more? Was whatever that grabbed him towing him towards shore? He was still too exhausted to attempt to pull away and he let his limbs relax a bit. It was when his head broke the surface that he began to flail once more. He'd not go without a fight. Rigel moaned as he was dragged out of the water before the sensation of being released registered in his brain. What was going on? Was he being saved as some sort of snack for later?

It was then that he noticed a larger stallion standing near a smaller form that had familiar red hair. There was no chance to react as Thierry threw herself at him. Rigel coughed up a little excess river water that was still stuck before turning to thank his rescuer. That idea lasted all of a minute as he took in his savior's appearance. All of a sudden the idea of a thank you fled from him. He was going to be eaten. Murmuring softly to his sister Rigel didn't take his gaze off the stranger monster. "Thierry, we need to get out of here."
