Uzumati was enjoying the warmer weather. With the shifting of the seasons it seemed that the trees of Tale shined even more in the sunlight and that the smaller creatures were truly beginning to stir. The wildman had spent some time hunting in the morning and after a nice meal was simply relaxing in a field under the sunlight. Almost like a giant beast the young man stretched out his arms above his head before crouching low so that he could turn in a circle before settling down on some softer ground in a meadow just outside of his woodland home.
Even the clouds were perfect for him to get a good nap. Smiling to himself Uzumati grunted happily before twisting once more and closing his eyes. Just a few moments of rest...surely that was okay, right?

Cassia breathed in, eyes closed and head held up to soak in the sun. This was the one day of the week that she took off to do absolutely nothing. She'd found a nice little meadow and was just relaxing in it, knowing that she wasn't too far from safety and that she would be okay here. Nothing could see her, nothing could get her. Or at least that's what she liked to think. Slowly she was exploring a bit more outside of the village. The safe pockets she knew she could go and relax just a little more than she usually did.
Now though, Cassia was getting hungry and she needed to go back and get something to eat. Getting up, Cassia clasped her hands behind her back and closed her eyes, walking in the direction she knew would return her home. There was no one else here and she did not expect to trip on something, falling on someone and yelling in the process. Once she realized it was a someone and not a something, she moved off of him quickly. He was a leaf man, older a little bit than her. He wasn't a scary beast but he certainly looked like one.
"I am so sorry!" Cassia looked away to the side, voice quieting. "I wasn't watching where I was going."

So much for peace and quiet.
Uzumati groaned as something suddenly connected with his side. Thankfully for the girl the man was still somewhat dazed even as she rolled off of his body. At first his instinct would have been to snap at whatever creature had pounced him but now that they had backed off Uzumati just found himself blinking in confusion instead. What in the world had just happened?
Narrowing his gaze against the sunlight the man seemingly glowered towards the other leaf earthling, "Ah." He grunted with a nod before raising up from the ground himself. With a frown Uzumati began to brush off his clothing before glancing towards the stranger with a sniff. She wasn't someone he had seen around here before. What was up with all these strangers just coming into his territory lately?

Ah? What kind of reply was that? Cassia got up slowly herself, turning her side to him so that he wouldn't notice her scars. She brushed herself off a bit before glancing once at him and then the surrounding area. She didn't know anyone else to be out here, well she'd never ran into someone before much less stepped on them while she was in the same area. Perhaps he lived out here? Cassia wondered how he possibly could live out here on his own, with all the things that could eat him or just attack to kill for pleasure.
"I'm uhm..." what to say to his reply? "I'm really sorry." Maybe he was really mad at her, like so mad he couldn't even bother to utter words. Which meant more apologizing was in order. "I didn't think anyone was out here." She rearranged her strap to her bag.

Uzumati just raised a brow at her apology before nodding once more. Of course she hadn't expected anyone out here since the area was normally isolated and wild - that was why he lived here. The man just continued to brush off his clothing before her bag caught his attention. Had she been out here to collect things? He had ran into someone before who had taken a few plants from around his woods. Curiously he pointed to her bag with a small frown, "Collecting... things?" His voice was gruff and it was obvious that he didn't speak much since his words had a rather interesting accent - almost feral like a beast was speaking - to them.

Cassia glanced down at her bag she was clenching tightly and she nodded. “Yes, sort of? I’m kind of a tea merchant. Well no, I’m not yet at least. I’m a prentice still you see… But I might not even become a tea merchant. I don’t like to travel…” Cassia closed her mouth quickly and realized she’d been babbling on. One thing she had noticed was that his voice sounded hoarse. She glanced up at him once. “There’s tea for your throat if it hurts. It would help with the hoarseness. Lessen the pain too.” She didn’t know if he had pain or not, but she may as well give him all the facts.

Uzumati just found himself blinking in confusion towards the girl. Tea merchant? What was that again? The man frowned thoughtfully as he tried to piece together the word and the item it reference. His uncle had given him something like that before right? Or had that been more of a medical thing? Uzumati sighed as he glanced between the girl and her bag again, " What tea?" He finally found himself asking rather sheepishly. It at least was an improvement from just grunting but still didn't give much. He rubbed his throat thoughtfully though before shaking his head, " No pain."Honestly he was trying to remember those things called 'manners' that would keep him from simply grabbing the bag she had and sticking his hands or head even inside to check it out. But Uzumati did move a few steps closer to the other leafling in an attempt to get a better scent from her and the bag. She definitely smelled of something strong and herbal - he just didn't know exactly which since it seemed to be a few mixed together.

Cassia slightly turned her body away from him when he drew a little closer to her. She didn’t know if he was dangerous or just curious. “Do you have any boiling water? I could make you some tea?” Cassia always had tea with her of course; you never knew when you might need it. Just like now. Grabbing the bag at her hip, Cassia tugged at the strings and opened it up to reveal some dried leaves. She brought it up to her nose and took in a deep sniff before extending it to him. “I think this one will do just fine.”

Uzumati rose a brow at the question of boiling water and shook his head. He never did anything like this so why bother? Others were lucky enough if he even made a fire to roast some meat. He could build a fire though...Uzumati sighed as he glanced around thoughtfully. He still didn't have anything to boil water in though. His thoughts stilled, however, as the girl reached out some leaves towards him. Seeing her sniff at them got his interest and as he closed his fingers over the leaves the man brought them to his own nose. Not expecting the strong scent immediately made him crinkle his nose and then sneeze in surprise. Rubbing his nose the man just made a face before handing the leaves back. These were supposed to make that tea? What was it medicine? The thought made him take a step back. He knew medicine thanks to his uncle and that stuff was not tasty at all.

This guy didn’t speak much did he? Cassia wasn’t sure if her nerves were trying to make her fill the silent void, but she was itching to babble on about tea to him. “It’s really good I swear. Tea is good for the body and mind. Especially injuries.” She paused when she saw his face and him backing up. “I’ll even drink some with you.” Was he afraid of the tea? Why would he be afraid of the tea? “Are you afraid of tea?” Cassia made a confused face. “You know this is just dried plants right? You’ve never had tea before?”

Uzumati crinkled his nose again before shaking his head slowly, "Know medicine, no tea?" He blinked thoughtfully at her, "It's different?" He knew dried leaves and had tasted his fair share of them, just not in brewed water unless it was some strange concoction his uncle had prepared for his 'health'. Uzumati almost groaned at the memory of the foul, bitter things. But if the girl was willing to drink it with him then surely it wasn't so bad? That or she was a very strange creature who wanted to enjoy such an awful substance?

Cassia chuckled. “It’s most definitely not medicine.” There were of course some teas with medicinal purposes but this was not one of them, at least not the one she was currently offering him. “I promise it will be a lot better than medicine, it’s not even close.” She gave him another smile, half trying to convince him and the other half trying to urge him. “Worst case, we can go back to my place and we can get some boiled water if he want some.” Though giving this guy a once over, he’d probably never, if very rarely stepped into any kind of village.

Uzumati gave her a wary look even as she told him it wasn't medicine. Could he truly trust that? The wildman gave one last sniff her way before finally listening. Worse case he could spit it out and then chase her off for lying to him. You never knew with earthlings after all. Unlike animals who were themselves these people were constantly changing and shifting in their words and actions. And now she was wanting him to tag along? Uzumati leaned his head back in frustration before finally glancing at her one last time, "Fine." His uttered word was low and guttural but he was willing. At least he could get her out of here by following her home and then leave as soon as she was safely out of his territory. Now that sounded like a good plan to him.

“Alright then!” Cassia gave a small relived smile. She was glad he was coming along; it meant she could just go home and show him there! “Follow me,” she said and began making her way back home. “You know if you want some to take back home I can give you a bit of some of your favorite. We have many flavors you know. Do you like more flowers o fruits? Or maybe something more earthy?” He definitely looked like a more earthy kind of guy. But who was she to judge right? She hoped her mother wasn’t home or she’d wondered where she’d found him!

Uzumati could only frown at the energetic girl. Did she not realize the hassle that this was? The man had to take a deep breath before keeping an eye out. If the witu were near then surely they would pick on such an easy target. She was fortunate to have run into Uzumati indeed since the beasts knew better than to fight with him. He had won back his territory many times after all - the scars attested to that. Though he had to pause at her sudden questions, "Fav....orite?" The man shook his head, "Anything." Just anything so that he could drink it, satisfy her, and then be on his way. Who picked favorites anyways when you had to survive? Whatever there was to eat then that would work!
