It had been a bit of a while since Mi-Hi had powered up into her alter-ego Sailor Sadalsuud.

In fact the last time she had powered up had been back in early May during the Adventure Port event...

And then things had gotten kind of busy - there had been school and then after that some relatives had come to visit and between one thing and another suddenly it was early August.

Which was how perhaps the small dark mirror senshi had found herself out and about.

It was a nice evening for it - warm, but without the sweltering heat from the day, her green shoes quietly tapping along the sidewalk as she walked quietly along the streets.

And okay so she hadn't walked all the way to her current position - a handy and somewhat convenient mirror that she had come across and remembered had taken care of part of the trip - but the evening had been pleasant so far - pleasant if a little lonely.

Which is why, when Mi-Hi... No she was Sadalsuud like this - saw what looked like a figure up on a nearby field - it hadn't taken much thought for her to make her way in that direction or from calling out cheerfully as she got closer and within earshot "Good evening."

Merkeb looked up from her telescope with a bit of a surprised look on her face. The whole point of her powering up while out here was make sure she wasn’t snuck up on. Well… so much for that.

“Hello!” The senshi of Wishes put on her best of smiles and waved at her guest. At least the girls aura felt friendly enough; similar to Remarque but far less overbearing, which was nice to say the least. “What brings you way out here?” She asked curiously.

The light glow from her laptop screen, though not bright enough to illuminate the area, shut off as the computer went to sleep leaving the two under a blanket of starry skies and a beautiful glimpse of the milky way.

The figure had turned out to be another girl and her smile and friendly wave drew an answering one from Sadalsuud.

She wasn't particularly very up on auras, but the other girl's aura felt like those of the Dark Mirror senshi that she had met briefly at the Adventure Port event and her outfit was super pretty.

"I don’t really have a reason" she admitted.

She glanced at the laptop briefly for a moment, her green eyes curious before looking back at the other girl as she continued "I was just wandering and I guess you could say that my feet and a mirror led me here."

And perhaps she wasn’t supposed to have said as much, but it wasn’t as if she was talking about the Court or Court secrets… Although truth be told Sadalsuud didn’t actually know about any Court secrets - at least she didn’t think she did.

“Isn’t it so much fun though!?” Merkeb leaned over to wiggle the mouse a bit to turn the screen back on so they’d have some light. “I’m actually tempted to bring a mirror up here and hide it somewhere so I don’t have to carrying all of this with me every time I want to go stargazing.”

“By the way,” The senshi of wishes reached a hand out by way of a more formal greeting. “My names Jen-ahhh uhh… Merkeb.” Her eyes went wide realizing her error before her head fell forward. “Eh… sorry, this whole second identity thing is pretty new to me. Heck you’re the second senshi I’ve seen since I passed through the black mirror; hell I’m surprised I even remember my new name.”

Sadalsuud nodded "It's really, really neat and useful too" she agreed, before admitting "Although I haven't really done that much of it."

Even so it wasn't something that Sadalsuud would ever get tired of - because there was something pretty awesome about being able to step through mirrors.

And whilst admitted, she hadn't really done that much Dark Mirror things yet - it was something that she was planning to rectify.. And figure out…

Her smile turned rueful "I know that feeling" she admitted at Merkeb’s admission, a heartfelt note in her voice. "But at least you’re name’s shorter than mine."

Her smile brightened, her hand reaching out to gently shake the offered hand as she added cheerfully "Oh you had to step through a mirror too" because she had had to step through a mirror to become Sadalsuud that first time in mirror space with the Prince and Miss Kitten...

And whilst that probably wasn’t quite how it had gone given that , it was probably close enough.

She continued "I’m Sailor Sadalsuud and Miss Kitten said that means that I’m the Dark Mirror Senshi of Clover and it’s nice to meet you Merkeb."

“It’s definitely nice to meet you too. I’m the senshi of Wishes. But... I’m pretty convinced my magic is broken since I haven’t quite figured out how it is suppose to work...” The blue clad senshi shrugged her shoulders. Aside from knowing how to summon the translucent stars she was at a bit of a loss on the mechanics of what to do before they disappeared again.

“Any idea how yours works? Magic that is.” Merkeb asked curiously since this whole senshi thing was both new and fascinating and appealed to her child like wonder.

Sadalsuud shook her head at the question "I don't" she said. "Although I'm guessing that it has something to do with clovers somehow."

Because she was supposed to be the senshi of clovers.

"Although..." her cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment as she admitted "I haven't really tried to use it. Although I think I've mostly figured out the whole mirror walking thing and I can summon my wraith."

She hadn't had to try to use her magic during the whole Adventure Port thing - it had mostly been using her wraith or at least trying to - and then when things had got busy she hadn't been able to do any dark mirror things - much less try to figure out her magic.

It was on her list of things to do however and was right up there with trying to figure out all the rest of the dark mirror stuff.

“Hmm…” Merkeb rocked back on her heels with her arms crossed over her chest.

“Clovers and Wishes. Honestly I don't see how either could be bad such as fire. It is up to you, but if you'd like to try our magic out and see what we can do I’m definitely game.” Better now while there was nobody around than being caught flat footed in a battle just to find out your sphere is completely useless. “However, if we do try our attacks out may I suggest we move away from the telescope.”

The Dark Mirror senshi of Wishes offered her companion a friendly smile and playful wink. “You know... just in case.”

"I’d like that" Sadalsuud agreed. "At least if you don’t mind that is?" She made it a question, as she made sure to put a bit of distance between herself and the telescope.

"And I don’t mind helping you try to figure out yours too" because the whole idea of magic was fascinating to her..

And there was the fact that neither clover or wishes was something dangerous like fire…

Well at least Sadalsuud didn’t think that either clover or wishes were particular dangerous.

“That would be great!” She had tried summoning her magic once before and in truth it was kind of lame. A clear star shape like one of those luma characters from Mario Galaxy just kind of fell into her hands and did… well they did nothing. Kinda sucked that there was no instruction manual with how it was suppose to work. The little mauvian tried to explain but it was all really vague and offered little to no insight on the actual mechanics.

“Ok, why don’t you go first?” Merkeb tried to appear relaxed but in all honesty she just hoped that she was right on clovers not being something to really worry about. The last thing she wanted was to show up to dance rehearsal covered in unexplainable cuts or anything like that.

"Sure" Sadalsuud agreed cheerfully.

Although despite having readily agreed, the actual summoning of her magic was easier said than done.

Miss Kitten hadn't actually gotten round to telling her how to summon magic - at least Sadalsuud couldn't remember her doing so and she was sure she remembered most of the details of the evening when she had first met the small black kitten..

Because meeting a talking cat had a way of sticking in the mind - particularly if it was something that combined with meeting a Prince - as had happened in her case.

Maybe magic was a concentration thing - after all her mother was always telling her about how important it was to concentrate - to focus...

And it couldn't hurt to try.

Sadalsuud closed her eyes, face scrunching up in concentration for a few moments and then a few more moments as she mentally tried to will something to happen - to work.

There was no sudden flash, no hidden sparkle - instead there were words in the back of her mind - words that seemed important.

"Clover's Luck!"

Green eyes blinked at the glowing golden four-leafed clover that suddenly formed in her hands.

Just a few feet away Merkeb stood in the dark with her eyes squeezed shut. It may have been her idea to do this but it didn’t mean she wasn’t going to at least flinch. When nothing seemed to happen she opened one eye and after noting the bewildered look on Sadalsuud’s face the Senshi of Wishes visibly relaxed before stepping near.

Blue brows knitted together in a mildly confused expression. “It’s pretty. Any idea what you’re supposed to do with it.” She asked while reaching out to tap her finger on one of the golden petals curiously.

Sadalsuud had been staring puzzledly at the golden clover that had seemed to suddenly appear, but at Merkeb’s question she held it out so that the other senshi could get a better look at it.

"I'm not sure" she admitted, frowning slightly as the golden clover suddenly glowed brighter before fading away.

She glanced around looking to see if she had somehow missed something "I don't feel any different" and the surroundings didn't look any different either…

But the clover had definitely magic of some sort and pretty with it too.

“Maybe it is situational?” Merkeb wondered aloud. “Clovers are supposed to bring luck right?” She thought on it for a moment but could offer no suggestion on how to test the theory.

"Maybe..." Sadalsuud thought it over for a few moments. "Although I don't feel any different?" The words came out as a half question.

She thought it for a few more moments before admitting "At least I don't think I do."

Impulsively she tried to summon her magic again "Clover's Luck!" and was a little surprised when a second clover formed.

She held the new clover out to Merkeb so that the other could take a closer look at it.

The Senshi of Wishes accepted the offered clover. “It feels weightless,” she commented as it began to glow brightly as the previous one did before disappearing. “You’re right. I don’t feel particularly different.” It didn’t hurt at least which was a positive sign.

“I suppose it’s my turn.” Merkeb took a step back, held her hands out in front of her and drew in a deep breath “Wish upon a star!” Missing the manifestation of the two white colored stars that now hovered above her hands she finally took a peek to see that all was well before letting out an exhale in relief.

“Well that’s kinda cute!” she commented, handing one to her new found friend. “They kind of look like those luma’s from that Mario game. Well minus the eyes of course”

Sadalsuud glanced at the two hovering stars, before taking the one offered to her "It's really pretty too" she said as she gingerly held it up to take a better look at it and the soft white glow.

"It makes me think of crystal" because it certainly looked crystal-like. "Have you ever tried to wish on one?"

She smiled ruefully and then admitted "Sorry - the words you spoke made me think of the Disney song."

“Haha, glad I’m not the only one. But to answer your question, no. This is actually the first time I’ve summoned them before.” Merkeb turned the star over in her hand noting that it too felt weightless.

“I guess... we we do what I said...?” She seemed somewhat confused if not hesitant in her own suggestion not sure what else to do. “I wonder if we’re supposed to say it out loud or just think it.” It was a valid enough curiosity as there were superstitions associated with voicing a wish aloud; mostly that they’re jinxed to not come true.

“I wish… I had a... I don’t know.” Merkeb looked at Sadalsuud as if she were at a loss for words. “A can of bug spray” she finally blurted out when a moth fluttered between them. Pausing for a moment she waited for something to appear or happen. “Guess not…”

Personally Sadalsuud didn't think it would hurt to say things out loud, although she didn't really know that much about magic either.

She wasn't about to let that stop her from trying to help as best she could however - even if 'as best she could' wasn't really that much.

Merkeb's wish for bug spray hadn't seemed to do anything and so after scrunching up her face in thought for a moment Sadalsuud held up the star in her hand and said "I wish I could have a kitten like Miss Kitten."

Because Miss Kitten had been a sweet little thing and cute with it too.

“Hmm nothing… makes me think wishes for tangible objects or living things aren’t possible. Like an unwritten quid pro quo. I feel like our magic needs to come with a manual.” The Senshi of Wishes laughed while shaking her head. It was at that moment her stomach let out a rather strange sound.

“Sorry about that… wish I would have thought about bringing some snacks.” At the mention of food the white star in her hand began to glow blue before dissipating completely. “Oh oh! It did something!” Much like Sadalsuud’s attack, what it did was beyond her.

Sadalsuud nodded "A manual would make things so much easier" she admitted with a smile.

She frowned thoughtfully "So bug spray was a no and a kitten like Miss Kitten was a no too" she murmured half to herself.

Something not tangible or not living...

Sadalsuud was distracted by the sound of Merkeb's stomach growling, shaking her head a little as she turned to look at the other girl "It's okay" she said before adding "And having snacks would be really good about now."

And then she was distracted from thoughts of snacks as the crystal star in Merkeb's hand sudden glowed blue before vanishing.

"That's neat" she said "Do you feel any different?"

“Uhh…” Merkeb looked down at herself then patted her stomach, sides and the arms. “Not really. I mean I’m still hungry but I feel like I just downed a triple grande nonfat latte or an energy drink.” Her heart felt like it was beating faster than normal, as if someone had just startled the crap out of her but clearly nothing like that happened.

“I have no idea if it is from the wish or just being excited that something happened.” At least it didn’t blow up in their faces; that would have been really bad.

"Well maybe it's the magical equivalent of coffee" Sadalsuud said with a laugh as she glanced down to look at the star in her hand...

Well where the former star had been since by the time Sadalsuud looked down her hand was empty.

She blinked and then opened and closed her hand a couple of times, however each time the result was the same.

"I guess there's also some sort of time limit too" she said - because there had definitely been a crystal-like star in her hand earlier and there definitely wasn't a crystal-like star there now.

“Huh… I honestly don’t feel like we’re much closer to figuring out what our magic exactly does than we were earlier. I wonder if there is anyone we can ask or if it’s going to continue being trial and error.” It’d suck if that was the case because at the moment the little transparent white stars seemed pretty useless.

“At least, if I need to stay up late studying for a test I I know what I need to do to stay awake?” Merkeb joked. “I don’t know, maybe different wishes give different results.” She shrugged having no other explanation.

“Speaking of coffee though, would you like to maybe meet at a cafe sometime? There is a place downtown that has some of the best scones. My treat!” She offered, a smile alighting her face.

"Well we know that yours seems to act like pretty magical coffee" Sadalsuud admitted "But without actual coffee."

As opposed to her magic which just seemed to look pretty.

Her green eyes looked thoughtful at Merkeb’s question "Maybe Miss Kitten would know" she said after thinking it over for a few moments, before admitting "If I can find her again..." Because truth be told Sadalsuud hadn’t seen the little black cat since that night with the Prince.

"But if not then I’d be happy to keep trying to puzzle things out if you want?" She made it a question.

Of course there was perhaps the option of asking Prince Remarque as well, but it wasn’t something that Sadalsuud wanted to bother the Prince with - because he was a Prince and even though he was also a really nice Prince he was probably busy with Prince things.

"And yes I love coffee" perhaps not quite as much as tea - but she did enjoy mocha coffee.

“Excellent! I’ll get my things put away and we can mirror walk them to my house. I’ll ask my mom if I can borrow her car; knowing her it’ll be fine.” Thank god for drivers licenses. Unfortunately not owning her own car meant she had to share but luckily Jenna’s father had openly offered to get her one of her own once she found a job; yay for having a dad that’s a lawyer?

Merkeb made quick haste of packing her belongings; carefully stowing them away in their protective bins and with little else delay she guided Sadalsuud to a mirror she had stashed in the woods.
