Gaddok looked up at the vast skyline, admiring the purplish blue hues created by the bright starlight. It had been a long trek, but finally, he found himself at the edge of Iory - His hometown. Nothing had felt right these last few years, and meeting up with Warren to get back into the swing of this was exactly what he needed. He was far from redemption and knew there were more difficult paths ahead, namely, getting forgiveness from Lon.
Feeling a slight tug on the line he tied to his big toe, Gaddok righted himself and carefully pulled the string closer to the log he had been perched. A fenk is what he had hoped for but when a rocky spine broke the surface instead of a fin he growled, "Great, a lerim..."
The poor aquatic amphibian was all tangled in the line... didn't even take the bait, and by the looks of it was very irritated with the current predicament it was caught in. untieing the line from his toe, Gaddok pulled the creature ashore and began attempting to untangle it. With great protest, the amphibian squirmed, hissed, flailed and snapped at Gaddok as it attempted to make its way back to the water.
Stepping a bare foot on the critter's tail. Gaddok worked the line around the rocky torso, then a limb, then-
The Lerin thrashed far enough to wrap its mouth around Gaddok's toe and clamp down.
"Ouch!" he growled while stepping off the creature, "I can't just leave you tangled..." Gaddok snatched up the line and continued to finish untangling the limbs.
Turning midstep the creature snapped its jaws at Gaddok, bit a chunk out of his finger, and with a gurgled snarl scurried back to the safety of the lake.
