Jade didn't get to spend much time with other talents often, but with Cerissé, she had taken a personal interest in and demanded that she get to personally watch over their latest talent. Mr. Renegade was quick to cave and it was Levi she had to convince, but the woman was quite used to getting what she wanted from her boyfriend.

Besides, having the face of Renegade Media toting around their exceptional violinist was good for PR.

Plus, she wanted to focus on being out of the limelight a little after the festival.

"Cerissé," Jade said, pressing the mic button so the woman would hear her in the studio. "It's time for a break."

Mr. and Mrs. Belcourt had been thrilled to see their daughter suddenly taking an active interest in her future. Not in the way a middle class family would have been, but rather with her lack of social interests, they'd somewhat feared their daughter would end up alone surrounded by hoarded stacks of violin sheet music, plucking away at the strings forever.

Now she actually seemed to leave the house and sometimes have at least one person she spoke about more than in passing.

Though it was still vaguely.

Cerissé had never spent so much time out of the house that wasn't at the school or in a practice studio - though she did still seem to be in a studio. Only now it was playing seriously, not simply practice. When properly warmed up, Cerissé Belcourt had pointedly shown she could make that violin that she'd lusted after her entire life sing like it was the entire orchestra. But that also meant there were frequent breaks. She'd been adjusting the strings of her instrument when Jade's voice broke into the little room. Looking up she nodded. "One moment," she prompted - not really requesting patience. The violin was gently placed back into it's case, the top closed, though unlatched. As she exited the recording room, she stretched her hands, carefully working out any tightness in her wrists and fingers.

Best to not risk carpal tunnel, after all.

"How did that recording sound?" she inquired once she was at Jade's side.

One of Jade's favorite things about the fact that her charge was a talented violin player instead of the typical say singers was that more often than not, most things didn't need to be auto-tuned the way voices needed to be for a studio track. Plus, Cerissé was not one who cared to have her face in the limelight, no it was all about the instrument and the things her hands were capable of bringing to life with it.

She thought the woman might get along with her younger Argent, quiet Isaac who preferred to keep to himself and practice guitar and compose music. Something for later, once her sweet protégé was more firmly in the palm of her hand.

Swiveling in her chair, Jade's hands were wedged between her thighs and she was leaning forward, wearing a large grin on her lips. "It was really good, better than the last one but there were some off-key parts that I think we can smooth out. Let's grab some coffee or food and I can playback what we've got."

She already had it loaded on her phone.

"Plus, I want to discuss another business matter." She'd been building up to this the entire time they'd been working together and she just had a delicious idea of how to make use of Cerissé's talents for both jobs.

The small frown that graced her lips implied that Cerissé had expected a few flaws in the current recording, but also was disappointed that they were so obvious. "My E string was too tightly wound. I've adjusted it, so that should help." The tiniest details of string management could effect so many notes. A too tight string could effect how neatly it could be pressed to the neck of the instrument and cause strange things to happen.

"That is fine, my wrist needs to rest for a few minutes anyways." though she wasn't exactly sure if she was hungry, she would at least entertain a drink of some sort. Probably lemon water or a simple tea. Something to keep her palette clear for a later meal. Food was so weird.

"Another business matter?" Cerissé asked, brows rising ever so slightly, making her seem slightly suspicious, more than curious.

While Jade was no where near the level of talented or skilled as her charge, she had a decent ear for pitch and the more she was exposed to a piece the more she could pick up on the discrepancies. This was the fifth or sixth run of the day and the woman was eager to make her first contract the best. "Oh yeah," Jade waved a hand, implying it was no big deal. "We've got the studio all day, so as long as you're still up for playing we've got all the time to revisit as much as you want."

Jade snagged her bag from the back of the chair she had been perched upon during the recording and slung it over her shoulder, strap settling in the center of her chest. Popping off the chair, she strode towards the exit door and pulled it open, waving Cerissé out before her.

"Yeah, I just see a lot of potential in you." She shrugged, nodding her head in the direction of the nearby cafe while she pulled the door shut behind her. When she strode forward it was purposeful and with confidence. "There's this other..." she paused, unsure of the right word to use, "company, a bit more militant than RM, but it's got a far reach. Definitely more globally commanding." She shrugged. "We'll go over it a little more when we've got drinks."

"I will always be ready to play." Cerissé confirmed, "But only if I don't hurt myself doing it." she added. She continued to stretch out her wrists as she spoke, practiced through every step. A studio just for her for a whole day? It was wonderful as far as she was concerned. Jade was following up on her promises convincingly, at the very least.

As Jade waved her out, Cerissé glanced back. "Should I have grabbed my violin or is it safe here?" certainly they had the place to themselves, and of course they would be coming back, so it wasn't as though she was abandoning it there.

"So you have a parent company you're interested in....introducing me to in order to expand what we have going on is what you're saying?" Cerissé clarified, brows raising - if she was meant to be interested, that expression was the most interest she showed at any given juncture with the other woman. "I'll definitely be interested in hearing more," she paused, a slight smile on her lips, "once we have drinks." Because drinks were important to this venture, apparently. Or perhaps being seated.

Jade offered her charge a smile, shoulders rolling in a shrug as they walked. "I don't doubt it," she replied, cheerily. Her own musical skills with an instrument were shaky at best and she didn't have that type of stamina no matter how hard she tried, which meant that she found Cerissé's ability to play continuously incredible.

"It'll be safe, studio's got a code on it that's just for us today." A fun little feature that had been added for security and to keep people out that weren't supposed to be there. "Just you, me, and Levi have access for now." Jade did hesitate, giving the younger woman a once over contemplatively. "If you want to go back and get it, we can."

She didn't think it was necessary, but she wouldn't deny her companion the comfort of knowing her violin was safe.

The topic changed gears again and Jade resumed her gait. "Yes. Levi and I hope to merge things a little more solidly than they are now, but we can only do so if we have the right people on our teams."

A long look was cast to the door as Jade established that the contents of the studio were safe. What sort of a fool would Cerissé look to be if she spent all of her time worrying over the violin so much that it insistently went everywhere that she did? Would she become an old lady in a nursing home, clutching her violin desperately to keep it safe? Yet her gaze lingered for nearly longer than comfortable before she took a deep breath and looked away.

"No, it will still be there when I get back," she more said to convince herself then to tell Jade her needs - it simply served both purposes.

Matching pace with Jade, Cerissé tilted her head at the mention of 'Levi', uncertain as to who that was, but assuming it was another person that worked in the building - perhaps more of a management position if they were making plans to smooth things out a little more. "That sounds like a lot of work." While perhaps that sort of management was something Cerissé could have handled, she much rather would have left it to someone else.

She had more important things to do.

Confident, or confident enough, that her charge was fine with leaving her precious instrument, Jade led her to a cafe just a few businesses down from the studios that Renegade Media owned. Opening the door, she ushered Cerissé inside and gestured at the counter.

It was a quaint little cafe with a pastry case that led the way towards the register. Inside it were homemade tarts and flaky pastries along with a selection of cake, or cheesecake, slices. Overhead on the walls were chalkboards with the menu written in neat blocky letters. The tea selection was expansive while the espresso list was condensed compared to places like Starbucks.

Still, they had some of the best coffee beans she had the pleasure of experiencing.

"Come on, Cerissé, get whatever you'd like."

Jade always took her to the nicest places.

There was something about hole-in-the-wall places with tea that hit just the right note in her heart. For a few moments, Cerissé just took it in, though her expression didn't straight up betray any notions she was having about the place. The menu had so many options, her original tastes were reconsidered. A glance behind the counter cemented her most concerning thought about any place that commercially tried to sell loose leaf brewed tea by the cup - water heaters, each with their own temperature on the front in digital numbers.

Be still her overly prissy heart.

"I'd like a..." she looked up at the menu to check the sizes, "20oz Hibiscus Tea...." she trailed off then looked almost longingly at one of the tarts, but said nothing about it. Were those Blackberries? Lord above, she was going to move into this place on composing days if it was quiet enough.

While her companion ordered a nice tea, Jade opted for something heavily caffeinated and sweet. Clearly, she was taking a page out of her boyfriend's book and his sweet tooth when she ordered a white chocolate mocha with four shots and two pumps of blackberry syrup. It didn't stop there, either as she fished out the company card from it's place in her phone wallet case. "We'll take a blackberry tart and that cheese danish, warmed please."

Jade hadn't missed the sidelong glance towards the pastry.

After they'd paid, she ushered the woman towards one of the booths that lined the building's window walls. Jade liked to people watch too much to resist and opportunity to do just that. Moments after they were seated, out came a barista with their pastries on plates, followed by another with their drinks.

"Thanks~" Jade cooed, waggling fingers at the handsome barista flirtily.

Peeling off a part of her danish, she focused those bright blue eyes of hers on her companion. "So, RM has provided you with a lot of opportunities right? What do you say to maybe accepting an offer that will..." she paused, voice lowering, "enhance you as a person physically?"

Just listening to Jade make her order made Cerissé's blood sugar go up far higher than she liked it to. Though it sounded like Jade was far more observant of the silent stares than Cerissé was subtle about them. "Oh. Thank you." She had been trying to hold off but ....she was too polite to just say no. Even if she was certain the politeness was mostly out of habit than genuine state of being.

While less interested in watching the people, the booth allowed a nice vantage to fully take in the look of the building and all of it's little nooks. It was at least a popular enough place that it kept it's charming doors open for business, but kept a rustic feel to things. Some places were simply so....commercial. It was a nice difference.

As Jade made her flirting passes at the baristas, Cerissé regarded them. Were they the type to be flirted with? Maybe she just wasn't the type to check out pretty people and flirt. No flirting bones in her body. None whatsoever.

Instead, she took a sip of her tea. Ooof. It was sour. She'd known that it would be, but it was still nice. As Jade pulled her danish apart, Cerissé used a fork to carve a piece of the tart off for a bite. It was as good as it looked. Lord, this was a good break. Her green eyes looked up attentively as Jade spoke. Enhance her as a perso-

"Are you saying I need surgery?"

No Cerissé. No.

Jade's drink had a healthy dollop of whipped cream that seemed to delight the older woman. Dating Levi was going to give her cavities at the rate his tastes influenced her own. At least the danish was savory enough to offset how sweet her beverage was, mostly.

Cerissé would learn that Jade flirted with everyone. It was part of how she spoke to people, just enough of a subtle interest to keep things friendly but open the door for more if both parties wanted it. It was how she kept up her personable personality and how she managed to get excellent service at any place she went to.

It helped, of course, that she was mildly famous - internet and YouTube famous. The more she worked with RM, the more recognizable she was.

Pale brows arched up and Jade laughed, head shaking and while locks fluttering around her face. "No, no. God, no. I mean more...you know how there are stories about mother's lifting cars off of their babies? I'm talking about strength and capabilities like that."

There was a very particular scene playing through her head right then.

It was the image of a female body builder, gussied up with make-up and fantastic hair. Her hands were enormous and strong and made the violin look tiny. It was her. She was very macho. Cerissé blinked a few times to remove this image from her mind.

"So I need to go to a gym?" was her next guess as to where this was going, "I mean, I thought I looked fine but..." was there a weird 'buff ladies playing violin' subgenre of music she'd never heard of before? Cerissé wasn't exactly inclined to join that subgenre if that's what they were hoping for.

"What?" Jade blinked, danish plopping back onto the plate as she stared at her companion like she couldn't understand what she was saying.

"No. It's - " How did she explain the Negaverse without showing. "You know the vigilantes that are all over the city? The ones who can do incredible things, like jump a two story building effortlessly, or tame those monster things that crawl through the city from time to time?"

There, that was a good start. Unless her charge didn't have any idea of what went on in the city.

"It's that. I'm offering you that. It's more complicated, but it'll allow you to reach your peek condition without interrupting your career. In fact, it'll further you. This company, the one that can grant you these gifts, they have world wide influence. Traveling to other countries and showcasing your talents will be much easier than if you're just part of Renegade Media." She lifted her cup, licked some of the whipped cream off and took a sip.

When she set the mug back on the saucer, she licked her lips to chase the foam. "I want to bring about your true potential Cerissé. Give you everything you want and this - this would be how to do it."
