A thriving city filled with steam and magic, Idreiya is the capital where the president, Elusive Eight, and most everyone lives. While it is not suffocating here, the streets are slim and depending on what side of the island you live on you will be in a more advanced district or less advanced. Children play in the streets daily, and while homelessness is not a huge problem in the city, there are always the exception. Waterways, crossing wires, and organic trees line the vast city, and the technologically advanced city is a wonder to behold to outsiders.

...Never mind your happiness...

The sound of metal against stone, it clacked with each step as the abysswalker strode through the capital. The sea of bustling people parted for the armored mystery and whispers rang out as he walked. The trademark cowl obscuring his identity in a shroud of darkness. Though few knew the man that lay beneath the suit Ragnar sought out one of those who did. Per the usual his charge the one he was tasked with watching had eluded him. She seemed to enjoy making his life more difficult, relishing each and every opportunity to slip from his company. Though no matter how many times she left him he would find her and seek her out. She was his duty, the one task he was given; and he dare not fail in his duty.

"If I was her, where would I be?" He mused stepping lightly even with a hulk of a sword across his back. The void that lay in front of his face seemed to scan the perimeter looking down alleys as he moved. He cared not for the whispers of those around him, the sea of gasps and lingering stares brushed by the knight with no regard. He would find her and nothing else would matter until she was once again in his sight.

Dezaira heard the whispers before she saw the man they were about. She had been sitting at a stall that sold exquisitely good rice bowls, enjoying her time there as well as she let out rumpus laughter with the owner, when her ear turned on the cacophony spreading thin before her. Rolling her eyes, looking over her bare shoulder, her green orbs looked to the horizon where the man would undoubtedly be seen shortly. Making a face, paying the man quickly, she vacated her seat and began to climb up the cityscape. It was easy, the city being her playground since she was little, and how thin the streets were compared to the jutting fixtures on the walls of the technologically advanced city, it made it a cake walk.

Her cloth armor hung below her as she walked across one of the taut wires, it having no use of electricity flowing through it and more so that the buildings would not move when wind ripped throughout the island, and her eyes seemed hungry as she watched the man walk with purpose. The many civilians were too busy watching him that they had not noticed her antics, and right before he got to the stall, Dez made a loud noise as she dropped from the wire. She was not attacking, and rather was trying to land on the man's huge back, as per the usual. But maybe this time she could actually surprise him! Yeah right, she thought as she dropped. Her long hair whipped behind her, and her cloth armor danced above her along with her sword.

...Never mind your happiness...

He continued to scan the environment until he saw a woman kissed by fire climbing up the area around him. With sigh shook his head slightly before deciding he would play along. She was the only person who could bring this side out of him. To get him to play her little games. The others he would just mock or ignore but being around her for so long the man had grown a bit of a soft spot for her. Partially because playing along and ruining her fun gave him satisfaction. To see her pout and whine always seemed to bring a smile to his face, not that anyone could see in his current form.

He continued to walk towards the stall pretending to be oblivious to the woman tight rope walking above. What an acrobat she was it often gave the man headaches and he felt today was going to fall in line with the past ones. He finally made it to the stall before halting and waiting, knowing the woman above would have to pounce she was too predictable not to. He stood waiting, the void that was his face aimed at the owner as if chatting the man he halted awaiting the perfect time to spring his trap. It was a good thing his face was obscured as a smile danced across his lips though he would never let Dezaira know she was the cause of such a thing.

The unsurprising noise came signaling his marks strike. As she descended upon him both hands rocketed up one opening over her back and the other on her upper thighs catching the heiress. His hands came down with her fall slowing her descent over time as opposed to trying to stop her descent immediately. It would look graceful as if rehearsed and done many times. She ended up in his arms being carried like a maiden as from behind the void a familiar voice teased. "Why must you always attempt the impossible?" The tone was bored as if to try and ruin the womans fun. Though behind the shadow a playful smile lingered before fading. He had found her, the first step was complete but he would not have to ensure she did not slip away from him again. He was intentionally holding her in such a position knowing her boisterous pride filled personality would hold some objection to it. Ragnar surmised she'd leap from his arms soon and then she'd likely drag him all about the city something that was as sure as the setting and rising of the sun.

Though no matter how many times she did this Ragnar would always be there by her side. He wouldn't leave her, no he couldn't leave her. It was his duty to protect her and no matter the events that transpired he would fulfill his obligation until his death.

Dezaira made an otherworldly sound as she was caught. Warm hands touched her thigh, something that the girl could feel even through her pants, and she was happy to know her descent onto the man didn't come with a jarring realization in her gut. As she was bridal carried, she began to thrum her fingers on her inner arm, showing her annoyance but not verbally letting it be known. She could never get him, and even if she already knew this it still left a disdainful taste in her mouth. He wasn't that older than her and she was the one inducted into the Eight first!

She blew a raspberry when the man spoke. "Because it's fun?" she answered back with zest. "You know you're smiling behind there!" Dezaira put her finger out as if to push the cowl to the side, though she knew her own boundaries. She didn't move her index, instead keeping it resting at the bottom of the sheet, waiting for him to respond. If he kept his face there, she would simply sigh and fall back into his arms, though if he moved his head away she would, well, do the same thing.

Dez knew her boundaries. And she would never cross them.

She enjoyed this man, the one given to her so long ago. She enjoyed their games and the way they spoke to another. The silent bond and understanding between them. She wondered if he would ever leave her, ever die because of her, and though Dez hated them she always had the intrusive thoughts nonetheless. Or worse, what if she ever died because he first risked his life to protect hers, and in turn she sacrificed herself so that he may live? It shouldn't happen any time soon. The Fallen have been imprisoned and asleep for over ten thousand years and after the human's technological advances, it wasn't like they could so easily be picked on by other races. They were proud now, and while they weren't invulnerable, they were at least a threat. Because of that, there shouldn't be any room for war, nor any way of losing her guard. Wasn't that right? So why did she worry?

As if to answer herself she responded to the man, "You make it too easy to leap onto you, you know that? Need to stop wearing dangerous armor, dope."

...Never mind your happiness...

The two began to walk heading towards who knows where but Dez's sentry wasn't one to remain in a place for long. Some unknown thread could be lurking and always being in motion made predicting movements more difficult. Despite his job having been lax for the most part Ragnar still treated it like the was some great threat looming. His being could not fight such urges and as such he treated every day the same regardless of how mundane their activities were.

Though this autonomous action was halted by a childish sound coming from the lips of his charge. The knight halted and his shadow covered face turned down to her as if that raspberry had woken him from a slumber. She spoke of him smiling and some erroneous concept like fun. Then a finger came daringly close to his form but halted just at the threshold of his cowl lingering on its border. It was classic Dez, tiptoeing the line and with skill as usual. "I guess we'll never know..." He said softly the words almost teasing in their tone insinuating that Dez could be right but since neither could see Ragnars face it would remain a mystery.

As he finger lingered the abyss walker abrubtly shifted her causing that pesky arm to go back to her side where it belonged. About as playful as Ragnar would get and likely a rarity for him. while it could easily be explained that he was merely trying to get a better hold of the girl they duo both knew why he did that. She was far too light for him to acctualy need to reposition her and in turn he was in rather high spirits today so the combination lead to some rare sighting of Ragnar one such being that jostle of Dez in his arms.

As the two resumed their journey Dez in his arms she mentioned him being too easy of a mark and that in turn her needed to stop wearing dangerous armor. Though the final word gave the man momentary pause. Dope? That was not his name and yet she continually insisted upon addressing him as such. "If memory serves you are the one who ends up in my arms each time. I would argue it is you who is too easily captured." He said in a phlegmatic tone knowing those words were all that was needed to get a rise out of the woman. One side effect of being around her so often was that Ragnar had become rather skilled at getting under her skin.

"As for this armor, it has saved my life and yours many a time so I fail to see the danger in wearing it." The knight said praising his esoteric protection. It was true that since their technology had evolved armor like this had become more suited for displaying than combat, but Ragnar was a man of the old ways and he would not give up his family sword or suit of armor just because some labeled it obsolete.

Having carried her for quite some time now the knight couldn't resist but poke a little fun."If I didn't know any better I'd say you miss the touch of a man..... I'm sorry though I'll be of disappointment if that's your intention." Ragnar said in a calm tone insinuating that she both fancied men now and was intending on seducing Ragnar. The cherry on top was his mentioning that he would turn her down adding a final piece to his tease. She had really brought out that playful side of him with that raspberry and finger and now she'd have to put up with his sometimes sharp words. He was not a particularly subtle man and as such his jests often times were a bit too much.

Dezaira's long hair flowed behind them as they walked. She was never one to allow it to get cut, more like trimmed up so it could grow longer, and in Ragnar's arms it flowed down below his hips. This, of course, was only because of the position she was laying, which wasn't a real testament to her hair, though she wondered in that moment if it could grow so long that it could trip him one day. What a fantastical thought!

Her arm shot backward at an uncomfortable angle when her guard suddenly shifted her. She made a face, rubbing the lithe of skin connecting her shoulder and collarbone. She was glad he wasn't in the mood to carry her like a sack of potatoes, but the girl also knew they wouldn't get far if that were the case. Kicking and screaming were her strong suits, and even if most of the civilians knew there was no reason to try to help, it still caused enough commotion to get him to stop.

A snort shot out of her mouth as he answered and quickly she responded, "Did you ever think I let myself be captured? Free trip, no walking, best thing ever." Relaxing even more, even putting her her hands behind her head, she continued, "And it only works so well because of my stellein. If nothing else, you'd just be a normal guard who isn't worth his salt."

Her words rang true, even hurtful in a way, but she said them with conviction nonetheless. His armor was obsolete by today's standards, and there was no reason to be wearing such armor other than for honor and pride. If anything Dez could get him a CEBA unit with built in runes to be more efficient in combat. Honestly, it would probably help keep him from bruises, but the effective ruins on his armor and sword now were some of the best Dez has ever done. Granted it was only because of tracing the runes rather than putting them on the armor herself, but her magic was still poured into it, and thus it was so.

The girl flung her head sideways, letting out a bellowing laugh as she did. "You can't miss something you've never had! Though you've got me thinking, I really need a drink and find a woman in the process. I think watching would do you good, find some moves for once." Dez made a face as she looked at her friend, trying not to laugh as she said, "You should take off that armor once in awhile. Things will start to stink and itch."

...Never mind your happiness...

He continued to stride about whilst carrying her noting her face of discomfort at his jest but choosing to ignore it. Served her right for teasing him so. He also noted her rather illustrious locks trailing behind the pair though that he allowed to slide as well. He never understood such a frivolous thing as allowing ones hair to grow that long. It would only hold her back in battle and get caught on things. Far more trouble that it is worth. Then again Ragnar had always been ignorant to such things. He never understood any of it and doubted he would begin to anytime soon.

As she replied and got comfortable the faceless knight shook his head continuing his movements in such a way that allowed her to get comfortable. "I suppose in my arms you easiest to watch so this is a rare occasion where you get your way." He said mocking the girl while conceding to the fact that he had become her own personal mode of transportation. Thinking back on it he had carried her an inordinate amount of times so perhaps she had actually been allowing him to capture her. After a moment or two of further thought he shrugged the thought away. It didn't particularly matter, his job was to guard her and if carrying her was the most strenuous part then he must have been doing an exceptional job.

"Yes, the generations of knights, the lifelong training, the unparalellered determination, and the honor that binds me..... all of them pale in comparison to your ability to trace etchings upon my family sword and armor." He said in a dry sarcastic tone very clearly contesting her words but not bothering to formally argue with her. She could speak whatever she want in jesting way or as a piercing insult. Ragnar knew who he was and how he became the man he is. Something as weak as teasing words wouldn't crack doubt into the stone foundation that defined him.

As she made her intentions clear the knight whirled on his heels rather gracefully before beginning to walk towards a bar he knew she liked. "Probably for the best you remain ignorant. Would be far more troublesome to guard you if you were constantly swooning after me." He said teasingly some of his words almost sounded.... playful? Whatever Dez did she managed to put him in a mood today. He ignored her mentioned of him watching and picking up some moves. Women were but distractions and that was something he had no use for.

She looked upon him and teasingly mentioned him needing to escape his armor to avoid smells and itches. "I can assure you my hygiene is not an issue.... You seem so intent on seeing me out of this armor....." He said his the void of his cowl turning down to her. "I've told you before Dez my duties don't extend that far." He said softly almost whispering those teasing words before returning his focus to what lay in front of them. They would be nearing the bar soon and knowing his mark she would likely grow more boisterous and tiring upon entering. He would soon fade out of her mind knowing alcohol and women would take precedence allowing him to watch over her without getting a headache.

Ennya would be sleeping like normal, a typical thing that many humans would find as the typical behavior as sleeping was her favorite past time, yea it meant she was lazy, but she wasn't a bad guardian she would protect them if the time came, as a dragon she was actually formidable, of course with little experience actually fighting since not many events require her to actually fight, This sleep would soon be interrupted by a sound of a chirp, which would cause her head to jump up with curiosity much like it was a natural instinct. "bird..." she muttered before her view of the city would start to move down, caused by her sudden movements she was sliding backwards off the already small orb she was on, she would soon find herself falling downward, not even flinching from it or even reacting, making it clear that it happened many times before. as she was falling she would find herself landing on roofs and rolling on them only to keep rolling her way down further and further soon until she would find herself rolling near Ragnar and Dezaira as hey made their way to the bar, due to them not watching where she was rolling she would end up rolling into one of them causing her to stop. looking upward, her eyes just staring upward before they would find themselves looking at the two of them, she was small, very small compared to them, she was like a child but everyone knew she was much older yet she continued to act this way. she remained silent as she just stared at them, almost waiting for some sort of response, she didn't even bother getting up as she seemed dead set at staring at them with her eyes,

Ahh the human capital city of Thaoria, Idreiya . How long has it been since Yosana been here last? One hundred years, two hundred years or maybe more, she honestly can not recall. She walked slowly around the streets with her axe strapped behind her back. I wonder how sis is doing. She asked herself as her orange eyes scanned for any sign of her dear sister. She was here for her, after all, to see how she was fairing and to tell her tales of her many adventures around the world. If I was an adorable dragon, where would I be? Hmmm Just after she said this her ears picked up something falling and sliding. curious she followed her ears and caught a glimpse of a white-haired lass rolling down some roofing before crashing into a group of people. ..... sigh She shook her head at the sight before slowly making her way over.

Dezaira nodded as her guard accepted the fact she was more comfortable and easily detained in his arms. It was better this way, not because any chance she got not to walk was always amazing, but for the reason of keeping her strength up. If they were about to head into her favorite bar, maybe even get Ragnar to get a trim, she needed all of her power to wrestle down someone, drink an alarming amount of alcohol, and go to bed when the sun finally fell and it turned to dusk.

"Glad you agree!" she happily said, lightly punching Ragnar's armed shoulder. "Those etchings are the only thing keeping you toe to toe with the other Eight. Advanced material will always stunt old metal, it's just a fact. I know how much it means to you," she said, quieting slightly. She did know, and she cared about this man. Trying to lessen her words she continued, "At least it's a pretty suit of armor."

When the man whirled around, making Dez hold on ungracefully to his shoulder pad, she laughed as they began walking toward the bar. She was getting pumped, her blood rushing in her veins of the fun she was about to have, and her playful attitude broke out. "Hah! Puhlease, like I'd ever go for someone so... old." It wasn't a real comeback, and she knew it, but it was still something hilarious to say. Men, especially guards, had such problems with their age and it was always fun to poke at their sensitive egos. Not that Ragnar cared, but who could hold it against her for trying.

Playfully getting down, pushing herself away so that her feet would touch the ground, she swayed her hand in front of her face as if to convey his words meant nothing to her. "Your duties are whatever I say they are. Besides," she said, holding her nose closed, "I don't think I could stomach you on top of me." Sticking out her tongue, about to laugh, she made a discomforted sound as something bumped into her from behind. It was something Ragnar probably saw coming from a mile away, and Dez was too caught up in her own remarks that she hadn't cared to notice.

Looking down, a laugh caught in her throat as she saw the small dragon peering up at them both. She didn't move, just laid there, and Dezaira reached down and picked the small thing up. Letting her fly in the air as she did, using the momentum of the ascension to propel her, she brought the little girl in for a nose rub. Patting her head, her motherly persona activated, she looked to Ragnar.

"Look who's joined us! And just in time for food." Rummaging around in her cloth armor, Dez pulled out a half eaten piece of jerky and held it out to the girl. The dragon was like her sister, at least Dez thought so, as she had literally grown up around her. "Did the bird wake you again, or are you just hungry?" In truth the dragon had a stomach like her own, never filled and always expansive, but it was always good to ask.

Because of Ragnar's duty to always be around Dez, he knew of the guardian and of everything that surrounded her. While the heiress had still not told him of the Fallen and their possible reign, she promised herself to never hold secrets from him as well. It was common knowledge to know of the guardian, but not many had actually been around her, though very little knew of the sister that was walking up the streets. Humans did not flat out attack those that were different, but the wariness in their gaze was still abundant as they saw the pink haired girl walking toward the trio.

...Never mind your happiness...

Dex began to toot her own horn but Ragnar wouldn't mind. He had long since become immune to her bragging. She did have a point without the markings that imbued his armor and sword it would just be metal. Though it was very high quality it metal, ancient wasn't incorrect but its quality was still very high. He had looked at the new suits, seen what was considered modern. It felt excessive. Too much flash no substance. Ragnars plate male was thin and he was built just like his father meaning the armor was pretty much crafter for him. It hugged his form in such a way that he felt uncomfortable without it clinging to him. He could move freely and it provided very good defense even when the runes did not give it power. Sure he couldn't move as fast as some of the other members but with what was etched upon him he brought a very unique style of combat that had allowed him to carve a name for himself and make him a well respected member. Despite that reverence Ragnar was often the butt of jokes being mocked for his devotion to the old ways.

He ignored her words about the armor having meaning and it being pretty. While its ornate nature was a fact Ragnar just didn't feel right in the CEBAs he felt more man than machine. As if the suit was fighting and he had become a bystander, it disgusted him in truth. He had far more respect for Dez's style of etching upon herself, at least she still relied upon her own strength. In his armor despite it looking like an antique he always knew he was in control, Ragnar was a man of honor and pride. He could never live with himself if he became so dependent upon a machine like some of the other members were.

She mentioned him being old and Ragnar rolled his eyes beneath his shaded cowl, not that Dez would see. "I've seen you take home a myriad of women. On some of your more drunken nights a few of those women could have been older than this." Ragnar said allowing steel to tap steel insinuating Dez had bed women older than his armor. A far sharper retort than she had laid out though she had brought this upon herself and Ragnar would not bother restraining himself now. As she countered again about her duties being whatever she said they were a few chuckles escaped the abyss of his cowl. A delicacy that laughter was, an occurrence so seldom that Dez could count the number of times she'd witnessed it on a single hand. "I live to serve..." He said with a piercing tone behind those words. She had a point, his job was to guard her and for the most part that meant she defined his very existence. Though there were times when Ragnar defied her order. She had tried to get him to drink once or twice and he declined even after she in a drunken tone demanded it of him. While he was hers he could defy any command that did not relate to protecting her. Though unfortunately for Ragnar Dez had realized this long ago and with her wit was often able to phrase the request in such a way so that it related to her safety even if it was in some obscure manner. Despite such a dominate relationship, Dez respected Ragnar deep down and it was that fact that Ragnar had stayed on as her ward and would continue to do so until he was no longer fit.

When she mentioned him being atop her the knights head shook twice. "Good thing the only way it would happen is if you managed to get me on my back." Ragnar said insinuating that he would never be the one to initiate such an encounter and that perhaps she would have to take him by force. The two in their younger days did play a few games similar to this, pinning one another to display their strength. Ragnar would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy that game though he had never played it in a suggestive way. As the creature bumped into her the knight once again shook his head. She was always so absorbed in her own words that things often snuck up on her. It was a good thing he was always vigilant or else he would have likely failed his duties long ago.

He stood silently watching was Dez threw the dragon up and down before carrying it and showing it to Ragnar. He merely nodded his shrouded face conveying a very stoic acknowledgment of the creature. Ragnar knew who and what it was. Though he never really cared to speak to it. Its job was like his own a guardian and while Ragnar had a level of respect for it, their jobs were independent so he didn't interact with the thing. His head tilted slightly as yet another new comer joined. It appeared it was another dragon one wearing armor that wasn't even useful. He never understood that, he had protection and could move with ease and yet he had met countless women who wore next to nothing claiming it accomplished the same thing.

His arms crossed over his chest as he stood silent his eyes watching Dez and the newcomer as well as the bustling streets they were on. He was ever wary and always watching. He didn't address either dragon nor even turn his head so it looked like he saw them. His duty wasn't courtesy, he need not be noticed or paid any mind to. His job was to protect Dez and until she was in peril or addressed him he would not bother speaking.

Ennya would soon be picked up and thrown into the air. The little girl seemed used to this that she didn't freak out by being thrown upward or even being close to Dez's face for the nose rub. she would simply resiprocate it by reacting back towards it with her own movement. she would look at Ragnar when she was picked up and when Dez seemed to chat with him, IT wasn't until she heard the word 'food' that her head would turn to face Dez meeting eye to eye, she seemed interested in the idea of food, her eyes wandered down with the Dez's hand in her armor pulling out jerky from her clothing. Everyone would see her eyes focusing on the jerky, her mouth would seem to water a bit from the fact she watched it, The moment she would take her eyes off the jerky and Ennya, Ennya would instinctively grab the Jerky and throw it into her mouth, chewing on it as she would stare at Dez, trying to make it seem like she didn't just take it. Ennya had grown up with every single child that was a leader's child, and often would play or sleep around them when she could, for more purposes then one can list. The two would soon find the other dragon that was wondering, he was slightly bigger than the guardian, but was much stronger than her and more experience, She was once seen as a threat to the island long ago, but was gradually accepted to be a visiter after it was found out whom the dragon was. As this was happening Ennya would just stare at Dez "I want to eat the bird" she stated finishing eating the jerky she took. To most peopleit would sound like she was just trying to eat the bird that woke her, but to Dez it sounded more like she was saying the bird woke her up thus ignited her hunger. After she spoke to Dez about her 'needs' she would turn to where everyone was more or less focused at, The pink haired dragon that was wondering the town, and was walking towards the three of them "oh...Yosana" she stated pointing at her

Yosana noticed the looks the humans who passed her gave but paid them little mind for they were not the one she was here for. The one she was here for laid ahead with a group of two humans, one who seemed to be very friendly to her sister. The other, however, seemed to hold a different set of mood. She shook her head as she approached the group and gave her dear sister a smile. Hello dear sister.. how have you been? She asked in the sweetie's voice she ever had. She would take notes of the humans as she addressed her sister. New friends I am taking?

Dez stuck out her tongue at such a remark of her habits with women. Granted, they were all true, and on more than one occasion she could remember women that could have been her mother's age. Not that it truly bothered her, seeing as they were all consenting adults and what was the harm? It still made her react accordingly, and she snorted.

"Getting you on your back is pretty easy, Ragy," she said, looking down towards the dragon. What she said made Dez laugh slightly, holding her to her bosom, and she responded, "That's okay. We'll go eat lots of things. I might even get a haircut." The warrior winked at the girl before turning her head toward the direction Yosana apparently was. She knew of the dragon, though in her lifetime she had never visited. The fact the new dragon completely ignored Dez made her slightly ticked, but it made no difference to her as she continued to hold the girl. "Hello to you too. How are you enjoying my kingdom?"
