As you wander the booths littered all over the grounds, you stumble upon one that is very brightly colored with two banners depicting a bird of some sort. There are cakes, cupcakes and cookies stacked on top and behind the counter. The owner of the booth merrily waves to you as you pass by. "Wonderful night isn't it! How about you come try your skill or learn a new one!"

just past the booth are several tables, next to those are boxes, neatly filled with everything you could need for baking. The boxes filled with ingredients are marked separately from those filled with utensils for mixing those ingredients up and baking. "Since I know some of you don't bake, there are some recipes for you to follow as best you can!" She points to a stack of paper on the middle table.

Punkie saw that shade of green and made her way to the booth owned by her friend. "Calida!" Punkie called, coming in to hug her friend. "This is a nice ******** booth ya got! Cooking, huh? Can i cook some ******** punkin pie?" Punkie smiled. To be honest, she only really cooked punkin dishes, punkin pie being her favorite, but she would give this cooking things other than the holy gourd a try.
Punkie was in the zone. She grabbed a punkin, tore it open and harvested the meat inside. With a string of loud holy words screamed at the top of her lungs she added the secret juggalo ingredient, Faygo. The orangeblood sat in front of the oven, chanting, as she watched it cook. Finally, she decorated it, giving the cup cake a nice juggalo face paint design. Punkie turned it in, eager for Calidia's approval. When the greenblood child barely glanced at the orangeblood's cup cake, well it struck a nerve. "Calida!?" The orangeblood cried, in a fit of fury and feelings of rejection from someone she thought to be her friend, she threw the cake at the greenblood, and turned to stomp away. Grinding her teeth, Punkie made sure to keep all tears at bay. She was in public, she could not disappoint the Messiahs with ruined face paint.

Zeylla came upon the booth just as the orangeblood(the same one she had seen at another booth?) chucked a cupcake at Calida and stalked off. The greyblood raised a brow, but said nothing as the angry troll stalked past. She was not here to start fights, she was hear to have...dare Zeylla say it, fun. She gave Calida a small, rare little smile and nodded, "Hello Calida," she greeted, glad to see the young greenblood in a crowd of unknowns, "alright, let me try a hand at this" she said try, but the confidence in Zeylla's voice said 'I got this, step back, hold my carbonated drink.'
Things started well, with Calida watching with a huge smile on her face as Zeylla mixed her ingredients, and while she wouldn't admit it, this boosted her confidence(if Zeylla's confidence could be boosted anymore than it already is), but, also not admitting to it, she let them sit in the oven for a just a moment to long as she basked in her own pride, and when she pulled them out they were a little dark, but not ruined. Zeylla liked things a little darker anyways.
Of course, she decorated them carefully with grey dyed frosting and a little squiggly white mark on top to represent her lusus, and turned to chat with Calida for a moment, when the little greenbloods face went from smiles to a little 'Oops!' face. Zeylla turned around to see Calida's lusus just finishing off her cupcakes. A mixture of frustration and irritation bubbled in her stomach, and if she had an extra cupcake she might have thrown it at the big bird just like the orangeblood had. But she had no cupcakes, so she only sighed and looked at Calida.
"Well...huh," she managed, because really, she wasn't sure what to say. She was kinda bummed out, "I guess...they must have been good?"
Calida tried so hard to play the part of cool judge, but she just couldn't. Watching punkie storm off hurt her so badly and the cupcake that hit her was just, well the icing on the cake. She could feel tears welling up but she grit her teeth and tried to hold them back. She'd go find Punkie after her booth duties were over for the evening.
stringency
Not willing to let this disturbance pull her away from her booth though, Calida smiled widely at Zeylla, "Wow zey, you did really well! have you been practicing?" she asked they hemoanon troll excitedly. "S-sorry about mami! she doesn't control herself well around cupcakes, umm here," she handed Zeylla a plate full of cupcakes in return."I'll have a stern talk with her about that! enjoy these cupcakes instead! I made them myself!"

saihen
Zeylla happily took the plate of cupcakes, and gave a shrug of her shoulders, letting what irritation she had about the situation roll off her. She wouldn't honestly admit it straight out(especially after Calida's compliment), but she was much more happy to have Calida's cupcakes instead of her own.
"It's alright," she started, and then with a little more excitement, she added, "I'm sure these will be delicious as usual," meaning, they're probably way better than the ones Mami had just eaten. She glanced around at the booth set up and added with an approving nod, "You did a good job with this booth, but then again, your usual set up is quiet fantastic as well," fantastic meaning very glittery, as Zeylla thought back to that green, sparkly booth she had met Calida at.
"Calida! Hi! Oh my gosh, you got it open!" Psykgi said, barging in amidst her neighbor's booth with her usual cheery invasiveness, "That's fantastic! It's been such a hustle, getting everything set up! It all looks great!" And smelled great, too!
"Hello!" she waved at the hemoanon person at the booth, but she really wanted to get to the cooking part! She did baked goods on occasion! It should have been easy fun... except, for some reason, it wasn't. Easy, that was. Fun, it definitely was - it was hard not to have fun while making a horrible mess. The only way that baking could be UN fun would be if she somehow burned her hand off, and she did not.
She also did not make anything vaguely resembling cupcakes. "Oops!" she said, laughing, "I could start a 'cakeball' fight with these..." but, they were better served feeding her lusus, who happily clumped herself together to accept the goopy, meh, offerings. They were nutritious. They were sugar. They were perfect for the swarm.
She got to cleaning up the mess she'd made - satisfying in and of itself.

Gnash liked sweets. Making her own cupcakes sounded like a good skill to have, plus, it seemed really fun! The booth was pretty and the owner had metal arms too, which Gnash was burning with curiosity about. Still... cupcakes!
She was surprised she had done so well, despite mixing together salt instead of sugar in her batter, the cupcake looked nice and held up, and even was able to be decorated all pink and red, with glittery sprinkles. "Did I do a good job on the cupcakes I mean it was sort of my first time and also I do not know much about cooking or baking or anything like that," she said to Calida. "I do not mind when things taste somewhat not-good though so even if it is not good in flavor I think it is pretty!"
Reemus, aka Toothy-the-kinda-hemoanonymous liked this heat. Pleasant, much easier to deal with than the swamp. He didn't even have to wear a whole lot while out in disguise. No scarves to chew on out of habit. Well, that was actually kind of a mixed bag for him.
He hadn't been to a summer Bloodfest since childhood, actually. How time flew. Like usual, there was a food booth managed by a redblood. So when he smelled pastries elsewhere, he was a confused boy! Reemus wheeled around to see another bakery booth. Okay, well, Cerise's booth wasn't so much a bakery stand this time around, but still. It was different. He couldn't help but amble over.
The game was different, too. Looking it over, he learned that this was a DIY baking gig. Cooking wasn't Reemus's forte. But making mooncakes was fun. So maybe this would be!
He stepped up to try it out. Unfortunately, as he got in the swing of things, the mixer went berserk. He furrowed his brow and brought his fist down on it to make it behave.
The baking part wasn't too bad, probably from his experience with mooncakes this past Harvest Jubilee. Thinking about it made him miss Voscil. They'd have to rendezvous soon...
He presented the result soon after, pretty chuffed, but found himself ignored. That stung. He'd just eat these cupcakes and all the free samples, then.
Since Calida had come to visit their booth earlier, they thought it would be only polite to come visit hers! They were a little nervous though, baking wasn't something they'd ever done before. Try as they may, they just couldn't get things to mix right. Calida didn't seem that impressed either, which just spiked their worry about making a total fool of themself.
Well, into the oven. They were so preoccupied with worrying about what Calida would think and their earlier mishap with the buzzbeast that they totally missed their timer going off! By the time they realized it was done with, their cupcakes were totally burnt. Oh the horror.
Wincing, they pulled them out and tried to... hide them from view, or something. Anything to keep Calida from seeing this utter embarrassment!

Elidae was aware she wasn't that great of a baker, but the way she baked her cupcakes tonight sure did reaffirm that. "Uuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." Elidae put her hands against the sides of her head. "Nooooooooooooooooooooo..." She whispered under her breath, trying to contain her disappointment. They just didn't come out right! She tried to cover up the goopy cupcakes, but the frosting just wouldn't do what she wanted! "Next time will be better!" Elidae tried to reassure herself.

"Having trouble?" A warm voice asked from behind Elidae. Nodding a hello, he glanced down at her cupcakes and failed to hide a laugh at the mess she'd made. After he'd placed her on a pedestal for so long, it was nice to see she struggled with some things too. Scooping a finger into the battercakes, he gave it a taste and twitched but tried not to spit it out.
"Here, let's try it again. Together." The greenblood offered and began to mix up a batch of cupcakes. He'd made some on occasion for his business, The Nightly Grind, but had started to let Eilidh handle the pastries and sweets these days. Which explains why his cupcakes left a bit to be desired as well.
"Ahaaa... thanks!" Nucleo laughed as Calida gave him a brief compliment about his decorations before moving on. He didn't mind her critique of the baked goods. He did mind, however, giving Elidae a weird impression of him though! Here he'd tried to act all smooth and ended up creating a batch of crapcakes!
"Well, it was nice to see you. I'd better go check back in at my booth though, I heard Amonee's been adding things he didn't run by me first!"
