Talking to Sherry had been the best idea, Caroline concluded, giving herself a pat on the back for that one. She'd loved every minute of making the cake together, and she was so sweet that hanging out with her was a delight on its own. That they both got to wish Mark a happy birthday as a result of it was even better, and she was humming with excitement by the time they got to his door.

After a deep breath, exhaled through a childlike puff of her cheeks whole she thought, she came to a conclusion with a wide grin.

"Both."

And with that she was already knocking loudly on the door with one hand, the other reaching to open it for Sherry to make her entrance.

Caroline's grin was answered by one from Sherry. So far, things had been pretty great. They'd had some very good bonding time as far as Sherry was concerned, and things were only going to get better. They were about to surprise their mutual friend for his birthday!

"Ok!" Sherry nodded as Caroline opened the door.

"Hi!" Sherry said as she walked in. The plan might have been to say 'happy birthday' but Sherry just kind of... stopped. Mark wasn't decent. She probably would have been concerned about the expired cereal if 1) she didn't already think he could eat anything and 2)he was dressed. Way to intrude, ladies. Sherry had a moment of staring before she turned to Caroline. "He's not ready." Was she blushing? Yes. Anyone would be, honestly. It's what they got for surprising him like they had.

And then Mark was asking an odd question.

"What? No, Mark." She looked to Caroline expectantly. They really really should say it together.
