She followed the other mare and looked around the area curiously. Despite the cold temperature of the night before, the day was looking to be much more comfortable. That was the problem with early spring, she thought to herself, pleasant one moment and dismal the next. At least it hadn't rained recently making walking a slog and flying near impossible with moisture adding extra weight to one's wings. She wondered if this was unclaimed territory but then thought better of it. While the area was nice she figured that upon closer inspection there would be a plethora of little issues, hence why no one had claimed it previously. This spot was probably just a convenient spot for anyone passing by due to the availability of water and grazing.
She carefully stepped over a fallen branch and then realized she'd been so caught up in her own thoughts that she could quite possibly being rude to the other mare by not offering some light conversation. Although the other mare didn't seem like much of a talker but manners was manners and if the other mare wasn't going to offer any then she might as well. Unless the other mare didn't want to talk to her about anything, which given the silence was heavily implied. However, Episca hadn't tried to talk to her therefore she was just making assumptions about the talkative state of the other mare.
She chewed for a moment on her bottom lip and then glanced up at the other mare in front of her. Should she? Should she not? It couldn't hurt to try. right?
She let out a small sigh. Sometimes wished she was more like her father. Granted her mother said he was beyond crazy but he at least seemed to be decisive enough to know what he wanted when he wanted it. Episca was not so lucky and instead spent far too much time in her own head trying to figure out the situation. Usually to the point of going way to far and completely the wrong direction.
Well that was about to change! Time to be more decisive! That was the point of her journey right? Well, that and trying to see that her impulse control was as good as she thought it was. Thus far she had felt the urge to harass zero small animals. A good thing in her opinion.
Alright! She would introduce a conversation topic with the other mare! She took a deep breath and lifted her head slightly, only to immediately get her horn caught in a low hanging branch. She squeaked for a moment and got herself free, only to lose her footing and stumble a few steps before regaining her composure and glancing at the other half-breed and hoping she hadn't seen that.
