The snows fell gently outside. So gently that even the sun was shining through and making all the ice sparkle. It was like a magical wonderland, especially to a young girl. Grinning, Katori peered out a window in the main hall. It was super pretty! And very, very enticing to just watch each flake slowly fall down. Her daddy always made the ice look super pretty too like little flowers and other figures when he played with her and Taaru.
Maybe he could do that today?
Katori pursed her lips thoughtfully. That was right, her mommy and daddy had business today so they couldn't play. Tilting her head the girl crossed her arms as she continued to think. Maybe she could get someone else to go play outside with her instead then? She needed to go wake Taaru up so he would stop being lame and sleeping anyways. That decided the girl began to head back towards her shared bedroom and leaned over the bed so that she could nudge her brother, "Taaaaruuuu. Get up!"

"Ugh, Tori, It's too early." Taaru groaned. He rolled over in bed. He really didn't want to get up at the moment, at least until he looked outside. He loved it when it snowed, they could make all sorts of stuff with it. They made huge snowforts one time and- There's no time to think about it, we have to go outside!"Oh! It's snowing!" He jumped out of bed and threw some clothes on. "I'll be right out!" With his clothes on and poofy hair sort of tamed, he flung the door open. "Come on! Let's eat then go play with all the animals in the snow!"

Serana stirred the oatmeal in the large pot in the kitchen. She was preparing breakfast for Eresin and Talisia's kids. She promised them they could go out together while she watched the kids for the day. And, of course, kids need to eat healthy meals three times a day so they can grow up to be big and strong. She moved over to the stove, where she was frying eggs and some meat. As soon as they were ready she put some oatmeal in the bowls she set out, the eggs and meat on plates, and put them on the table. She heard the clumsy footsteps of the kids running down the hall. Ah, perfect, right on time!Serana poured some fruit juice for them and prepared for their arrival at the table. She was excited to be babysitting them. Surely, nothing would go wrong, and they could have a lot of fun. Right?

" Never too early." Katori pouted as she tugged at her brother. She was glad, or rather he was fortunate, to see that the sight of snow had excited him enough to get out of the bed. Else the girl may have tried to push him out by force! Grinning, Katori nodded at her twin before darting out of the room. They were going to go play! Oh she was so excited! Snow raptrix, snow raptrix! They could build all the things! Though she paused with a frown at the mention of food, " Really Taaru?" Of course he would want food! " So lame, I wanna play now." Still, the smell of food in the kitchen did catch her interest. Alright, so maybe a quick bite wouldn't be so bad today. " Seranaaa." Katori peeked her head into the dining hall, " We're going to eat quickly and then we can go outside, okay? Okay." Smiling she motioned for Taaru to follow her before skipping towards where the older iceling waited for them.

"We'll get to play, don't worry!" His stomach growled in agreement. He walked over as she skipped ahead of him. He peeked at the table and gasped. He loved eggs and meat for breakfast. He also loved Serana's oatmeal. He had never liked oatmeal, but ever since he tried hers, he couldn't get enough! Actually come to think of it, he pretty much ate anything Serana made. She was such a great cook. I wish Momma could make food like this, he thought to himself. "Wow! This looks delicious Serana!" He promptly sat down, ready to chow down. Even though he wanted to play around and do stuff that his parents wouldn't exactly want them to do, he tried his hardest to earn those brownie points. He perked up when Katori mentioned going outside. "Yeah, we're gonna play in the snow and make all sorts of stuff! You'll see!"

Serana finished pouring the juices just in time as she noticed the children coming into the dining hall. "Ah, Katori and Taaru! Good morning, you two." She smiled and did a slight bow. "You're just in time for breakfast." She smiled at the compliment from the boy. While she knew he could be a bit of a troublemaker, Taaru was quite the sweet little boy. Serana was warned that they could both be a bit of a handful, but she was up to the challenge. She never really had much interactions wit hthe kids outside of cooking their meals, but from what she could tell, they were polite and well behaved children. Some of those boys from my village could learn a thing or two from them..."Come now, enjoy your breakfast. I've made eggs, meat and Taaru's favorite oatmeal." She sat patiently and waited for them to dig in, making sure it was to their liking. While she waited, she poured herself some juice and sipped it. She too would need some food for the day ahead.

"We bettah!" Katori pursed her lips in determination before noticing the food. Alright so perhaps it wouldn't be such a horrible thing to eat something...would be a waste after all. The little girl nodded before following her brother into the dining hall, " Good morning~" Even if she was a little rambunctious the child still knew her manners. Well, for the most part. Pulling herself up onto a chair, Katori reached for some juice and drank it. Ah~ That was always super refreshing! Smirking, the child glanced across to look at Serana, " Ya gotta eat quickly too, Serana. So we can get outside and play before it's too late!" With that said she began to quickly chew on some eggs so that she could swallow them along with a few bites of other things. At least it was yummy so eating wasn't a problem. That was thankfully why she was happy that Serana was here when Zyphire or Daddy wasn't. They had a chance at a good meal then!

Taaru shoveled the oatmeal into his mouth, filling his cheeks. "Mmm dif if fo goo." He chewed a bit and swallowed the huge gulp of food. He quickly finished his food and downed his juice. "Okaaay, I'm ready!"

Serana watched Taaru shovel food into his mouth faster than a Perzi in a fish shop. "Oh! Be careful now. You don't want a stomach ache right before you go outside to play, do you?" She finished her meal, took the dishes to the kitchen, and put them in a bucket to soak. I suppose I'll wash them later. They are quite eager to go play outside.She walked out and clasped her hands together. "Well then, shall we go outside?"

Katori smiled as she pushed her plate aside, "I'm ready!" She wiggled out of her seat and even tried to carry a few dishes after Serana before posing next to the older girl, "Shall we?" She quipped lightly in an attempt to resemble the more mature woman, "I think we shall." Grinning then Katori lost her posture so that she could reach over and grab Taaru's hand, "Meet you outside, Serana!" And like that she was off. The next thing Taaru knew, he was being dragged down the hall towards the door. "Whoa whoa whoaaaaa!" They were soon outside, and ready to go. "Oh, We should go get the animals! Gamu, here I come!" He made a mad dash for the animal barn and said "Come on, Tori!"

Serana found herself alone in the kitchen, her mind slowly catching up with the fact that they had already run off outside without her. "O-oh! W-wait for me, kids!" She made a mad dash for the door, but it was too late. They were already outside, the door wise open. As she made her way down the hallway, she saw them disappear from view. "Oh, no! If I don't hurry, I'll lose them."
She shuddered to think what kind of trouble they could be in if she didn't catch up to them. Well, if they headed in that direction, they must be going towards- "The barn!" She ran as fast as she could.

Sin of Qurupeco OOH LOOK ANOTHER QUOTE >:U ...don't kill me. Katori giggled with glee as she emerged outside with her brother. Even though she was thankfully covered in a nice heavy dress with fur the girl was excited just to feel a tingle of cold against her skin. She loved the snow and she loved how the bitter wind just sent chills down her back. It just meant that she could run around as much as she wanted without worrying about overheating and stuff! Following her brother Katori let out another laugh, "Sure sure!" Though she wanted to build a snow raptrix it was even more fun if they had one to base it off of! Or a mammu that was Taaru's favorite, " I think JiJi is here!" It was one of the young mammu that was usually housed in the stables. A calmer mammu, but one that was huge and still capable of causing some trouble with the twins. While Taaru had Gammu she had JiJi as well to play with.

Taaru ran to the animal barn, opened the doors and slipped inside. He looked around and spotted his favorite familiar in one of the stables. Being a large animal, he stuck out like a sore thumb, as he was taller than the walls that kept him in his spot. Taaru always wondered why he didn't just burst out and roam free. He knew the mammu was strong enough to, but he guessed he liked it there. "Gammu!" He said excitedly. "Hang on buddy, I'll get you out of there. We're gonna go play in the snow!" He said as he opened the door to his stall. The mammu walked out, being careful not to rattle his neighbors, and once he was outside, he picked up Taaru with his trunk and put him on top of him. Taaru pointed forward and said "Let's go!"

Serana rounded the got to the exit of the mansion in time to see the kids in the distance go into the barn. "What in the world-" And just then a mammu came out of the barn and picked Taaru up, put him on his back and started off in the opposite direction. "Oh my gosh!" Panic started setting in as she thought of all the scenarios of how he could get hurt.
Without hesitation, she ran to the barn. If she was going to round the kids up on familiars, she would need hers too. "Oh boy, Iska, if they get hurt, Eresin and Tali will kill me... I'm gonna need your help." She said to herself on the way.
