The Mist lounge was messier than usual after the teenpocalypse due to the fact that no one from the janitor division came to clean up after someone else's mess. The quality of furniture had also dropped in the past few months. Some hunters treated the lounge as a place to swap out their broken furniture for the less-broken bits in the lounge itself, giving the entire place a hodge podge mixture of couches and chairs that looked more at home in the junk heap.

Lance was sprawled in a massive arm chair, studying a new scar on his face in a small hand mirror. At a table a few yards away was the division assistant Bree, tapping away on a laptop with a Starbucks cup dangerously close by. She would occasionally take a sip from it, grimace, then set it in a new hazardous area before glowing at the screen before her.

As Mist hunters filtered in and found places to perch, stand or sit, Lance finally put his hand mirror away and stood up, waving a hand to grab everyone's attention.

"A'ight everyone, it's that time of year again. I know I haven't been around much due to being off Deus, and Bree's usually locked away in her secret server-dungeon, and -- ah. Wait. How many of y'all know Bree?" He looked around, then pointed at the division assistant. "That's Bree. Just look for her cyan dreadlocks, you'll find her whenever she manages to crawl out of the darkness. Anyway, let's get this meeting underway."

"Do we have any specialists here? You're up. Introduce yourself, tell us a bit about what you're doing, and if you want a bonus to your budget then now's the time to plead your case."

General OOC

WELCOME TO THE MIST DIVISION MEETING

gaia_star [ IF YOU HAVE A PROJECT PROPOSAL/UPDATE ]: Feel free to simply post in A SHOUT POST STYLE explaining fundamentally what it is, what you do, and just some very base information.

These meetings are meant to allow your character to propose projects and ideas, they can be used as a quick way to get NPC/GM approval or as a way to enable certain things that interest you for your character! They can also simply be used to introduce your characters to others in their division, both players and NPCs. Or just as a way to tell everyone what they've been working on!

You do not have to present a project. Every Mist hunter on Deus is assumed to be present at the meeting. 14 year old Jr Hunters are allowed to attend and watch the meeting to get an idea about what the division does.

gaia_star [ LECTURE BONUS ]
- Attending the meeting with at least 400 words is +1 bonus point. (so if you write a full 800, that is a total of 2 rp points)
- Proposals earn +2 bonus points
- A follow up RP working on approved projects with at least 2 other hunters will earn + 2 bonus points (usable once)
- FREE RAFFLE FOR POSTING GO HERE

- In addition you will be able to purchase these things for RP points. Once used, these rp points CAN NOT BE USED AGAIN:
- 10 RP points: Request "hands on" training with any of the Mist division NPCs (including former division leader Aria, however please note some restrictions may apply*). This will set up a PRP where they go on a mission to teach and test skills. (PM Marushii)
- 25 RP points: Clearance to begin construction and basic supplies/funds of any part of towns for their small business (ie: a hot dog stand, a donut stand, we don't care).
- 50 RP points: Portal compatible laptop (FULL HUNTER ONLY). Your character as long as they are carrying that laptop, can now use the portals OS to request a portal to almost anywhere in the world at any time/location, and as long as the laptop can ping the satellite signal, request a return portal back from any location. This can only be used once per mission for a max of 3 people at a time.
**PORTALS OS MUST BE TIED TO LIGHTHOUSE APPROVAL ON DEUS TO LEAVE**

*By "some restrictions" I mean "Aria is involved in a side plot I've been headcanoning for awhile. Said plot is along the lines of a personal/character plot. I'm honestly not sure how else to describe it, aside from putting up a warning that it could lead into something bigger, or something terrible, but most likely boring because I'd be involved, and we honestly know how often I finish RPs. ._. - Maru

Specialization OOC

Specialized Mist Hunters are encouraged to create group content such as experimentation RPs and Missions! ICly they get bonus pay & greater budget+supplies for these activities. OOCly they will earn and also be able to distribute extra RP points via this content.

Trainees/Intermediates/Hunters

Your rank effects how much of a budget you're given, as well as extra techs to help you, work space allotted, and equipment. Trainees are generally encouraged to help higher ranking Life hunters in their projects, as trainees don't have much clearance in regards to being taught runic coding.

Henry, quiet and inconspicuous as he was, slipped into the room relatively unnoticed. He hoped. The trainee had managed to sort if settle into life on the island, but figuring out a day to day routine to go along with whatever remedial duties he was assigned was probably a bit less than he should be doing. He'd heard about things like training courses, spars, but had yet to work himself up to doing it.

Which he recognized needed to change.

In the mean time, it seemed like it might be a good idea to avoid drawing attention to himself and what he hadn't been doing so far as a hunter. He took a seat off to the side, tucked into the corner of a couch that had seen better days, and watched the Mist lead has he addressed them and introduced them to the assistant, Bree.

Nice hair.

|Agreed.|

Zeke came ambling in with a note book tucked under one arm, a pencil behind his ear, and his glasses resting on the top of his head. For once, it looked like he'd had enough sleep, and he even seemed to be in a good mood. It was a rare day.

In his wake, looking as though his presense at the meeting was not entirely under his own control, a surly trainee in black. Possibly glaring daggers into the back of the taller Mist's head. Zeke had happened upon him in the dorm lounge on his way over, and had insisted on Von following.

Inside the room, he'd take a seat on one of the love seats, left leg coming up to rest his ankle on his opposite knee, notebook on his lap. He'd wait for Lance to do introductions, wait a moment longer to see if anyone shot to their feet to talk specialization, then lifted a hand to get the lead's attention. "Not a specialist yet, but I have a request that pertains to it that I'd like to make when everyone else is finished."

Noemi came rushing in with piles of papers and notes and her nurse mask still on and wide eyes that were anxious.

"I'm...I'm not late am I?" She scanned nearby before taking a seat admist a very uncomfortable reclining chair. With a small wince, she opted for setting her stuff on the ground and sitting next to it.

Her gaze tumbled around unfamilier faces, though she wasn't really one to talk. Almost a hunter didn't mean that she new the elusive mist division well.

Dakota couldn't make it to the meeting, due to various search and rescue missions he was pursuing, but he did send Lance a cookie.

If there was anything that Nellie knew for a fact based on the division meetings that she had previously attended, it was that snacks and drinks weren't always provided and it was advisable to bring your own to pass around. Which was exactly what she did when she arrived at the Mist lounge shortly after Lance began to address them, a bag of freshly baked cookies in her hand as she made her way to the couch located in a corner of the lounge and the trainee (Henry) who was seated on it.

"Cookie?" She smiled and held out the partially opened paper bag as an offering, her other hand pointing to the obviously empty spot that was next to him on the couch.

"Is that seat taken?"

Roland finally got the notice for the division he was originally a part of, he wandered into the Mist meeting room blinking at just how, varied? That would be the word he would chose for describing the furniture in the room. It wasn't that it wasn't comfy but it was clear bits and pieces had been re-arranged a fair bi or swapped.

Climbing into a chair with a comfy cushion and big arms he took a comfortable seat breaking out his 2nd box of strawberry pocky from the sun meeting he had attended while watching other mist wandered in.

Having previously been trying to not attract attention, Henry startled as another trainee wandered over to him and offered him baked goods. Wide eyes stared up at her for a moment as if he expected her to yell at him, but then his attention dropped to the cookies, and his brain finally seemed to process what she had asked him. "Oh. Uh, sure. Thank you."

The smile he flashed her was very brief, and fairly unsure, but it was more of a smile than anyone else had gotten from him in a long time, so that was an improvement. Granted, no one else was offering him snacks. He took a cookie happily, and after a bite she'd receive another smile before he wiped any chocolate off his mouth with the back of his hand. "These are really good, thank you."

Then he seemed to remember his manners, because he rather suddenly extended his cookie free hand. "Sorry. I'm Henry. I'm pretty new here."

Fishing another two more cookies from the bag for Henry and herself (having made sure that she made plenty so that everyone could at least go for seconds) before passing them around, Nellie sat herself down with a smile and tucked into her cookie. It tasted just as delicious as its aroma suggested. Crunchy yet not too dry with chocolate chips that melted in one's mouth. All in all, this was worth the amount of effort that she had put in and she hoped that everyone would be as happy as the trainee who was seated beside her the moment they got to taste the cookies that she made to share with them.

"Thank you." She smiled warmly back at Henry, making sure to wipe her hand on the side of her pants to remove any cookie crumbs that might be on it before shaking the hand that was offered. "It's ok. I'm... Nellie. Nellie was new once too." She was making an effort to stop herself from talking strangely lest she found herself ridiculed by the many others whom she had come across before Henry. But it was evidently far from perfect with the occasional slip up and she could only hope that it wouldn't be looked upon too unkindly by the new hunter.

Henry took the second cookie gladly, and this one lasted only a second or two longer than the first one had. He had the sort of appetite one would expect to find on a teenaged young man, and a love of sweets. Nellie couldn't have offered him anything better if she were hoping to make a good first impression on him.

His shake was as his demeanor suggested it would be. A little unsure. "Nice to, ah, meet you. Nellie." There was a brief quick of brow at the third person slip, but he didn't comment on it.

"How long have you been here?"

He liked the cookie. Nellie couldn't help the gleeful feeling in her heart upon knowing that. Maybe... if it wasn't too much to ask or hope for and things went well... he wouldn't mind terribly much to be associated with her as a friend?

"Pleased to meet... you too." She nodded a few times, trying to pretend that she wasn't struggling with the pronoun. It was hard. So hard to unlearn something that was already so deeply ingrained in her but she knew that she had to do it.

"Almost three years now. Still a trainee though..." She admitted sheepishly. So long as she took her time and not rush headlong into things, everything would be fine.

It was hard to tell whether or not Henry noticed how she struggled to get the right words out. He certainly wasn't commenting on it, at least. Gangly and a bit nerdy himself, it wasn't as if he could throw any stones, even if he'd had the desire to. Which he didn't, because he was much too nice and timid for that sort of thing.

They shook, and he took his hand back, replacing it on his lap with the other. "Three years, huh?" His head tilted gently to one side. "Is that a lot? I mean, is that a lot for still being a trainee?" It wasn't as if he'd know the difference. He'd only been on the island a few months now, and in that time he'd done a fat lot of nothing.

Nellie gave a shrug at Henry's question.

"There are people who went from trainee to intermediate to full hunter in three years. Some are faster even. Not me though..."

She wasn't sure herself where her still being a trainee three years since her waking up in the pod would put her among her fellow hunters in Deus. Was it normal? Or slow and she should be expecting someone to come and prod her about her lack of progress over the years?

"How long have you been here? Have you made any... friends?"

Zeke looked up again as Lance spoke up to give him the green light. He offered the lead an easy smile as she straightened his notes, and then got to his feet. "For the past few years I've been working independently on gathering and organizing research surrounding the effects of fear on aquatic wildlife. At this point I think I've exhausted the resources I have easy access to in the libraries. I've heard that there are some hunters on the island that have had run ins with various fear creatures that fall into this limited category." He slid his fingers along the edge of the notes absently. "I'd like to request a meeting with anyone that might have had interactions with marine wildlife that is made up of, or been effected by fear."

He was going to have spread his request along to the other divisions. Thankfully, twitter made that easy.

Smiling again, he sank back into his seat, slouching down comfortably.

Henry gave a small, thoughtful hum. "I'm sure everyone progresses at their own pace." Which was true enough. Everything progressed at everything at their own pace. He wasn't, however, sure whether or not that slower paces were acceptable here. If there were hunters around that had been here a long time, and were still trainees, he supposed it must be allowed.

"I've been here since the new year." That had been months ago, and he was only now trying to reach out to make some friends.

Ah well, he'd always been a late bloomer.

*You are most disappointing, boil.*

I'm trying.

*Continue on.*
