MISSION ALERT:



Upon arriving, each hunter would see a set of diving suits waiting for them, along with oxygen tanks and a covered headset for diving. Headsets were also provided, and sitting on a table along with watches. Standing there was only one Life hunter who was checking his own gear and checking the lights on his helmet.

“Hello everyone. Thank you for coming. We are here to do some extermination of a problem under the island that needs a combined force to clear. Let’s all be glad we won’t have to wait on a portal to show or go to the Sahara. Very close to home.”

“I want everyone to sign in and grab the equipment on the table first. Then find a suit and get fitted in. If you need help, just call me over and I’ll help you get into your gear.” Melvin called out, dressed in a diving skin.

When Joy got the alert about a mission, she didn't hesitate to join. That it was an on island one just made her participation that much easier. Learning that it was going to be yet another aquatic mission made her want to throw her head back in amused laughter. Who knows, maybe this time she'd finally be drowned. Third time's the charm after all.

Bert should have felt some concern over the fact his bonded lacked any sense of self-preservation. And he did but she was proving harder to kill than he expected.

Terry saw the broadcast and debated on joining. On the one hand, missions meant experience. Experience meant potential character growth. And Terry certainly saw himself as someone who sorely lacked in that department. On the other hand, it was going to involve swimming and Terry was not sure he liked that. His weapon ended up being the tie-breaker as Agata relished the idea.

It's been so long since I've been in the water. she'd sighed wistfully, prompting Terry to remember she mentioned that she was a lamprey monster.

He came to the meeting spot with a bag containing two changes of clothes and two towels. And they were all for him. He was going to invest in a good sewing kit to properly monogram his towels for proper identification. When he saw who the hunter in charge was, Terry's normally blank expression seemed to brighten just slightly.

He did make sure to send a quick text message to Kim inquiring if she'd be joining before casually walking up to the gear laid out for them. "Excuse me," Terry politely said with a raised hand, "Are we required to be certified divers? Or is there going to be a hands-on demonstration beforehand?"

Lawrence gave Melvin a nonplussed look, crossing his arms defensively.

"I came to watch people swim." he said. "I'm not supposed to talk to you, you know."

Lawrence wanted to turn and run back up the beach away from Melvin and back to Rodney, he was trying to do good things, he was trying to behave.

The touch on his neck and hair though as always had an immediate effect and he was left a little breathlessly eyeing the other man. He gathered up his resolve though regardless.

"No." he said, and it was small and feeble.

Lawrence found himself more and more drawn in, liking the contact and leaning into it.

He abruptly took out his phone and typed something in it, even with his hair in Melvin's hand and his breathing halting and shallow.

Kim yawned softly and leaned her head back against a tree as she listened to music. She almost didn't notice that the phone playing her music vibrated until it sent a pulse through her leg. She made a strange sound as she looked down and noticed the message on the screen.



She rose to her feet and walked toward the gate room while searching for mission statuses. She wanted to know what she was walking into, although she would join no matter what. Terry would likely get himself killed if she didn't. Poor guy.

For some reason thinking of how hopeless he was, made her flush a little.

Lawr locked his phone with a click and waved his missing hand at Melvin dismissively. "It says, none of your damn business Melvin." And he gave him a saucy wink, leaning his head into the other man's grip on his long delicate hair. "You'll give me split ends."

Hearing Melvin speak, Terry pulled his attention away from the screen of his phone. He managed to maintain his usual blank expression, years of practice helped in that regard, despite the internal giddy squee of having Melvin's focus on him. But Terry's glee was short-lived at the senior Lifer's strong suggestion for the physician to do his job.

"Is the doctor here to give us all physicals for mission clearance?" Terry asked, glancing over his shoulder to briefly make eye contact with Lawr before the trainee let Melvin lead him towards the diving suits.
