Hobbies:

Sleeping - The ultimate escapism, living in a world of one's own limitless imagination.... Faerydae enjoys a good nap as much as, if not a bit more than, the next person. And let's face it - There isn't much to do in the Rift that would humans would likely call a 'hobby.' So, just had a nice energy meal? Time for a nap. Just scared the crap out of some unsuspecting officers? Time for a nap. Nothing to do? Time for a nap!

People-Watching - People are strange, and they do nonsensical things that defy logic and sense...it's like a train wreak she just can't look away from. Although she has a hard time understanding emotions on....many levels, she has a very clinical interest in observing how people act and react in their natural environment. Perhaps this is in an effort to better understand and react more appropriately in future interactions? She's not sure herself. However it's quite invigorating to try and understand actions that would challenge her world-view, and adjust accordingly.

Lamp Collecting - Faerydae doesn't remember anything about when she was human. The only thing left of that era in her life was a little kerosene camping lamp. Since then, she has made a habit of collecting various lamp-like things she finds throughout the Rift, accumulating quite the collection of crystal-lit lamps. An officer would do well to earn her cooperation through lamp-offerings.


Virtues:

Rational Planner - Faerydae appears to have a deep understanding of the logical consequences of each move they make, and easily grasps how each step necessitates or entails the next when coming up with a plan to achieve some goal they have in mind. She will design plans for all the contingencies which are bound to arise and can see the forest from the trees, and can usually foresee systemic errors when a complex project is undertaken. With a pessimistic though objective view, she is not easily swayed by emotion, hope, luck, or chance when making her calculations.

Come as you are - One of the positives about being a pessimist is that you really don't expect anything from anyone. This has lead Faerydae to be a surprisingly really accepting being. She expects and accepts the flaws in others, and can take them in stride without letting it sully her view of the person. She is the kind of person you can bare your worst to, come to at your lowest, and she won't think any less of you, and might even, in her own strange way, make you feel better about your own demons. As such, she kind of becomes a matronly figure to the downtrodden and depressed. She isn't there to tell you it's going to get better or anything like that, but she's there beside you so show you're not alone.

Flaws:

Alexithymiac - Faerydae doesn't know how to vocalize her own feelings, because she can't differentiate emotions from one another, limiting her ability to distinguish and describe them to others. Thus she experiences a detachment from her own emotions, and difficulty connecting with others as well. She often seems to lack proper reaction to things, making her appear apathetic, bitchy and unapproachable even, when mostly she is just confused and just doesn't know how to deal with what she, or someone else, is feeling. Especially strong showings of emotion make her even more uncomfortable, to the point where she may just 'shut down' until things are calm again.

Party-pooping Pessimist - Faerydae seeks to show the distasteful realities of the world and eliminate the irrational hopes and expectations of others. Party-pooper? Yeah, that's Dae. Toooooootal buzz-kill! Although to her, she's not a pessimist, but simply a hyper-logical realist. Life is disappointment. Life is best lead without hope. You can't be disappointed if you have no expectations to begin with. She definitely does not view the world with rose-tinted glasses. To her, the glass is neither half-empty or half full, but likely poisoned. Everyone has their own interests at heart, etc. So what keeps her going? Fear. A pessimistic belief that....it can always get worse. That waits after death...could be worse than living.


Abilities:

Physical - Scathing Scales - A moth's wings are made of millions of tiny scales. In Faerydae's case, hers aren't quite so microscopic, and when she wants to attack, her wings will glow and then with the fluttering of her wings many small scales fly off at their target. It's like having hundreds of small shards coming at you. Can cause many superficial cuts. Like paper cuts. (so small, but omg the worst.) Uses: up to 3 times per battle

Magical - Flutter Bye - Largely similar to the butterfly effect, Faerydae temporarily erases one thing from the target's past, causing the target to zone out and mentally live whatever reality would have happened had that 'thing' never happened/not existed. The 'thing' is random, and completely up to the target's player. Attack lasts for 30 seconds, although it may feel like it was longer to the victim. If the player chooses, the character may have lingering mental and/or emotional issues regarding what they experienced. Uses: up to 3 times per battle

!! I'm just putting this here for my own reference as I work on and tweak this idea before officially sending it in for approval. <3

Special introductory plot I'd like to do for her, while putting an offer out to those who maybe had been away/had a Nega character out of play for a while, and are looking for an excuse to have had them MIA;


So, initially Faerydae's magical ability lasted for, virtually, forever. Faerydae would encounter lost agents who had wondered deep into her little pocket of the Rift, and ensnare them in her magic, feeding off of their energy. Those under her spell would unknowingly be wrapped in a cocoon and kinda just...hung around her lair. (In the cocoon time would conveniently pass more slowly so victims don't age as quickly, thus preserving their lives longer.)

Now, with this information out of the way, I'd like to run a plot where a noticeable amount of agents (a few player, but mostly disposable) have gone missing while exploring the Rift....more than usual, at least. To the point that a search/rescue party(Mostly player characters) is sent out.

The closer they get, they start to find old 'remains' of Faerydae's past victims. Apparently some have 'hatched' from their cocoons as minor feral moth youma! They very much resemble normal moths, but are about 3' tall. The first 'wave' are pretty weak, seeming to cause more of an annoyance than anything. It would be a small battle with some easy dice rolling.

The party goes a bit further and gets hit by a second, stronger, wave. These seem to have developed more monstrous features. And abilities. From their wings they can emit a kind of sleep powder. (These youma are underlings working for Faerydae, and this sleep powder helps them bring her new victims.) Another small round of dice-roll battle ensues.

It's here that at least one member of the search party needs to fall victim to the sleep powder, and get snatched away by one of the moth youma, who will take them to Faerydae.

Going after their kidnapped comrade, the search party eventually is hit by another wave of the sleep-powdery youma. This time, they all fall victim.

Now the entire search party has been taken to Faerydae's lair, and are in cocoons, mentally living a new alternate reality.

Players make at least one post of their characters living this alternate reality.

Players then roll 1 100-sided dice.
1-20 means they are still deep in their alternate reality.
21-40 means they might feel like something isn't right.
41-80 means they DEFINITELY know something isn't right.
81-100 means they break out of the spell.
They may roll as many times as are needed, but each unsuccessful post must contain another snippet/slice of alternate-reality life. Or wait for another character to free them.

Once a character has broken the spell and wakes up to find them self in the cocoon, they have to break out, which is done easily enough. Now feeling drained of a significant amount of energy and probably quite mentally disturbed, it's time to help free your friends!


Player rolls a 20-sided die.
Even Number = Huzzah! You rescued a companion!
Odd Number = You just released a newborn moth youma! But hey, this is one of the easy ones! No sleep powder here!

Once all of the search party is freed, the only option left is to flee, or delve deeper and hope it's not too late to rescue the other lost agents. Of course, the only real option is to carry on!

After walking for what seems like forever, a very loud flutter of wings echoes above the party, but they see nothing. Then a voice echoes, talking to them in a pleading, hurt voice. Eventually the replies turn angry. A sudden gust of wind kicks up dust, and when it settles, before the party is Faerydae. Behind her are the cocoons of the missing agents.

CUE BOSS BATTLE.

Boss HP: ?,???,????
Minor Minions(x??) HP: ??
Sleep Minions(x??) HP: ???

Severely weakened, Faerydae cries out, and her body hardens, and then explodes. What is left is a much smaller version of Faerydae. All the cocoons with the missing agents dissolve in to goo, and then dust, and the agents start to wake up. Faerydae pleas for mercy, offering her willing service.

In this weakened state, Faerydae loses her ability to create minions, and her magic is severely weakened to what it is in the profile now.
