Name: Narisa
Age: 29
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider / (Jr. Weyrwoman?) / Searchrider <-- Can they be this?!
Previous Rank/Craft: Apprentice / Vintnercraft
Physical Description:
A petite little thing, Narisa stands at about 5'2" at her fullest (with an inch or so added from the small heel of her boots). Her hair is short in length, going a little below her chin and auburn in color though it looks a deeper red at night. Light blue eyes will gaze out at you always with a smile and maybe a small hint of mischief. When Narisa smiles, it is a pretty thing that seems to brighten up her already soft and warm features. She tends to keep her appearance clean and presentable but typically spends most of her time in pants that she can easily throw a skirt over when needing to appear a little more dressed up with a nice tank top or blouse, depending on the occasion. Her riding leathers are never too far behind either.

Personality:
She's always been an ambitious woman that wanted to do her family proud. When she was younger, this was quite apparent in how she would push herself to work hard in learning the art of brewing for the vintner craft. It ran in the family, so to speak. And she had every desire to rise up in the ranks and be a skilled vintner. Until she was blindsided by a bold and passionate dragon he swayed her ambition from her home craft to the Weyr. She will work endlessly to achieve the best results she is capable of in attempt to be the inspiration some seem to see her as. Her ambition is not so strong as to make her blinded by power or desire a seat of leadership. She wants to simply use her skills and determination to assist those that she can in whatever task she's needed.

While being an ambitious and hardworking woman, Narisa is also a devoted one. Both in her love and loyalty to friends, Weyr, and a weyrmate. A trait that seems to go hand in hand with her hard working nature, she will devote herself to the task at hand while encouraging others to do so right along side her. Her devotion to her dragon and Weyr is strong and true. She'll take that extra step or go that extra mile if asked. She tries very hard not to be solely devoted to one thing or another - the exception being her dragon! This has helped her to learn how to work with her people, especially when she was a junior weyrwoman. She gave help to everyone equally, letting them know she always had time to spare for them. Her devotion has made her a stronger woman and given her strength over the turns.

If you were to ask anyone if they knew something about Narisa, you'd probably be surprised to find many people could answer this! Narisa is a very open individual, never hiding how she feels or what her opinions might be. Though this doesn't mean she won't hesitate in some instances. But this is due more to her doubting herself then not wanting to share what's on her mind. Her openness has also allowed her to grow closer to people as they feel comfortable talking with her and listening to her advice. It has also allowed her to be more outgoing and rarely shy, like when she was younger.

Even after having some turns working with her Weyr and dragon, she still suffers from self-doubt in herself. She has gone through many things over the past turns that have increased this side of her. This was especially more apparent after Thread hit them so hard. They were unprepared and lost many. A part of her feels guilty for not being able to do more of fight along side her people. Another for not paying as close attention to the old ballads and teachings. She had heard that High Reaches continued to practice the old traditions. Maybe she should have tried to encourage this? Deep down, Narisa knew it wasn't her fault and that all of Pern was caught unaware, but she still fell into a heavy self doubt session where she questioned everything she did. It has made her less confident in her ability to be a potential leader. And with the heavy hits all the Weyrs took and her choice to transfer to Western, she feels that this is the first opportunity for her to really discover what she is really capable of while not having to worry about being just a Goldrider.

Positive Trait List Ambitious, Hard working, Devoted

Negative Trait List Hesitation, Self-doubt, Lacking some confidence

History:
Born into a family of Vintnercraft folk, Narisa has grown up among the smell of the grapes and sweet scents of the brewery. Her father is a well established and higher up Journeyman that could be a Master one day but has never taken that next step up. He is happy where he's at and with the fellow vintners he works with. Starting from an early age, Narisa's father was teaching her about the different grapes and fruits specially grown for the wines, the fruits used for ciders and ales as well as the herbs to spice things up and help give their drinks that right kick.

Being too young to actually work with the alcoholic drinks (at least too young by her parents standards), Narisa has branched off and started an apprenticeship that focused on ciders. She is able to brew a few of her own ciders without the assistance of a journeyman ranked vintner. When not brewing, she is being taught how to carve the wooden stoppers and make the lipid seals for vegetables. A small section of the gardens have been marked aside for the apprentices to claim a portion of and perfect their skills in growing their ingredients.

Once she hit the age of 17, she began being schooled for the possibility of testing to be of journeywoman rank. Her father has taught her what he knows and has expectations for her to walk in his shoes. All this was met with a big smile and a fully prepared Narisa.

Then something that none of them expected. A Rider came to their Hall on Search. Narisa was chosen as a candidate. She was shocked like most candidates surely were, and could only sputter out responses as the Rider spoke to her. He even walked her out and introduced her to his dragon. A fine beast it was. Between both man and dragon, they explained what it meant to be Searched as Narisa had only heard from word of mouth what it meant. It was a big deal and she had asked for the chance to talk with her parents. Both her mother and father were hesitant to support this at first but after talking it over with the Rider, they were pleased that such good fortune had befallen their daughter. Parents smiling proudly, Narisa was soon taken to Southern Weyr where she began learning what Weyr life was like.

But fate had other plans for the vintner girl. She had not been at the Weyr long before the eggs hardening on the Sands were ready to hatch. A deep thrill of excitement and equal parts fear filled the young woman. Would she be worthy enough of finding her lifemate? She desperately wanted to believe this. To make her family proud! But her fear began to grow again once the eggs actually did begin to hatch, seeing the amazing creatures that tumbled - or in some cases, exploded - out of the shells. Narisa watched as one candidate after another was chosen by the bumbling little ones. However, all eyes seemed to remain on the Queen egg as the hatching grew closer to the end and it had yet to hatch. When it did, Narisa couldn't believe how beautiful a creature the little Queen was. There was a passionate air about her, as if she didn't feel the need to inform everyone of who she was. She knew. And that was enough. Of course, Narisa was in no way prepared for that golden beauty to turn her gaze upon her!

Your Cepheith is hungry Narisamine. Feed me.

Before she knew it, Narisa found herself staring down at a golden hatchling demanding to be fed. And thus, Narisa became a goldrider. A potential candidate to one day be a Weyrwoman. Something she never even dreamed of being possible when first coming to the Weyr. But then one fiery gold had chosen her. And Narisa had done her best to fill the overly large boots she'd been given. Some claimed she did it well. She never felt that she was doing enough. But she formed close bonds with those she met, and even found herself having a few riders to call best friends.

It was several turns after the pair had made it through weyrlinghood and Cepheith had gone through her Maiden Flight that Thread returned. They had read about it over and over. Had witnessed some of the drills that were only lightly followed at the other Weyrs. But like many, they had been lulled into a false sense of hope that the silvery menace was gone for good. And, like many, they suffered the consequences of this. Their Weyr was not adequately prepared. They were not adequately prepared. In the end, Cepheith suffered Threadscoring while they tried to assist in getting their wounded to safety.

When the Fall had passed, the pair was able to see the true devastation that had befallen them. And worse still, Narisa realized they had a decision to make. While she hoped that, given time and proper preparation, Southern Weyr would be ready to fully combat Thread, she could not risk her dragon again. And she feared that they might view Cepheith as nothing but a breeding machine to help repopulate the Weyr, wanting to keep her safe by taking away her freedom to fly and do what she pleased. She knew her dragon would not stand for such treatment or restriction. It was a difficult decision to make, but in the end, the pair opted to be transferred to Western Weyr, where Narisa felt she Cepheith would be able to maintain her freedom and they could do some real good and help while not being so restricted by the color of her dragon's hide.

DRAGON
Name: Cepheith
Age: 10
Color: Gold
Size: Average
Physical Description:
Average in size, this golden beauty seems to mimic her own little sun! She's built solidly with a nice lithe form muscled just right. Her wing span is impressive and seems to match the rest of her nicely. There are a few scars that can be seen when in closer proximity along her golden hide from threadscores received during Threadfall.

Personality:
Cepheith is a gold that knows her place and is comfortable in that knowledge – she doesn’t need to prove herself or impress her importance on others. This confidence is deeply rooted and powerful, making her the sort of personality that people notice. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and sees no reason not to speak to people other then Hers, it is her opinion and you have yours and as long as her opinion is recognized and respected there are no problems. However, should someone slander her or needlessly criticize/be petty, Cepheith can have an explosive temper. She is as intelligent as she is confident and often runs circles around those she argues with. Should someone keep up with quick, sharp wit, she may pursue debate simply for the entertainment and challenge. Indeed, much like a Supergiant, she can spontaneously burst into frenzied activity – be it organizing, training, moderating dragons, leading (to the point of nit picking) or mating. Her peers will have to learn to handle these sudden, intense bursts of activity and Hers will also need to learn to channel this energy constructively as when the mood strikes her, it is often applied to all aspects of her life and can be both damaging and productive.

This is most notable during her mating flights – she may be average in size but her sheer reserves of energy enables her to fly long and hard. Only those who provide a challenge for her will be allowed to catch her but beware, just because you’re close doesn’t mean she’ll accept you. Cepheith can and will tear at an unacceptable male and heavens forbid a second gold Rise – the two will surely fight to the death.

Cepheith is strong, bold, and noticed not for being flashy but for her passion. Intelligent and proud, this gold requires someone who has an equally strong personality who can keep up with or at least soften the edges of Cepheith’s passion. This dragon may get angry but she will never fall down – there’s simply too much energy and drive and presence in Cepheith to succumb to depression. The Weyr certainly had their hands full with this fearless Queen!

I'm going to approve her. If you could just fill out this little bit -- Had witnessed some of the drills that were only lightly followed at ?? Weyr -- even if it's just "other Weyrs" or "Monaco Bay Weyr" or whatnot.

I know Benden Weyr still sometimes touted prestige for tourism purposes. Otherwise she's good to go!

She'll be in the Blazing Gold Queen's Wing at Western. gaia_star

Edit: She'll be a Wingrider for Western Weyr and being a Searchrider is also fine!

Thank you for catching that, MH! <3

I thought I'd changed it but must have missed that one. I've just put "other Weyrs" in for it! Thank you, again! :3
