Jada had just gotten off a 9-hour flight, and it was hella early, or hella late, and her a** was sore and she didn't want to ride in a car. She had texted Elzo to let him know she would swing by later; her dad had been notified she was back in the US, she had sent off notifications of gift-bearing to other friends... And tomorrow night she might be dead. Well, any night she might be. This was just the first time in a while she was deliberately stepping into risk.

The decision to walk, after dropping off her packages in the four-bedroom 'city home' she had bought in college, was an easy one.

The sky was clear and beautiful and perfect as she passed under lights and over rooftops. The shattering of glass was less lovely, and Scylla reached out her senses to be greeted with no surprise- Negaverse. The store below had cameras, but no police were nearby. Bright red lips pursed, and the Eternal gave a heavy sigh, listening to the song.

"That is a pretty necklace," she called cheerfully; "you should put it back. Not your type." what was even happening here other than sheer crazy?

Great. She had gotten a true crazy. But there was something more off about this woman than just her attitude- It was like there was something on her face. What the ever-loving ********; she'd seen a face like that before. "Definitely not your style. It's your neck. Too stubby for something that elegant."

How about no. Great. the head twisted, and bile rose in Scylla's throat as she settled her stance, feet shifting on the ground. ********, this was not going to be a nice, peaceful HALT, EVILDOER kind of night.

"My gold isn't for giving away, creep," she said cheerfully, "And if you want it, you'll have to keep me alive when you present me. Which isn't in the plan for today, though we can perhaps reschedule for Friday, if you're free."

The magic pulsed through her, and she swallowed, considering all the angles. The woman felt more powerful than a normal agent of chaos, but the aura was... wrong.

And that creepy-a** smile.

She was fighting a harpy, it was known.

But at least the Nega thought her neck was cute, even if she also wanted to cut it. "Stubby!" she yelled back, and then-

s**t! Daggers out, game on. Scylla barely got out of the way in time, the dagger slicing shallow down her arm- holy s**t. "I'm not that white!" she snapped, and kicked out at the Captain, gut clenching with fear. Back, back, back.

She had a long day ahead. She could hardly afford to die now. Which meant she needed to beat the crazy out of the other woman and get gone.

"Stubby and slow," she mocked, "Come on now."

This was the second to worst night for this. Under her creamy skin, her face went paler and paler with every screech and yowl of her creepy-faced enemy. What the actual hell was wrong with her? What had happened? She didn't look like any other Negaverse Agent that Scylla'd the misfortune to meet, more like-

More like Tanzanite, actually. Like she was cracking, somehow, preparing to break. Her kick caught the other woman, shoving her back, and Scylla took the moment to catch her breath- but a moment was all she had before the Captain screeched at her again.

She couldn't hand to hand a Negaverse Agent. Couldn't keep letting the woman and her daggers that close to her skin, to her throat, to her starseed. She might want blood more than energy or death now, but there was still a danger she could change her mind and worry about the blood once her starseed was separated from her chest.

Stubby and not that slow, after all.

Scylla caught the next blow of the dagger with her arm, the dagger slicing deep down the edge of bone on the outside, barely missing important muscle. Her cry of pain was sharp and loud in the empty street. She couldn't hand to hand her. She couldn't leave her this crazed for the police to find, either. She had to try and wear her out, or drive her away.

"Scylla's HUNGER!" she shrieked in the Agent's face, and tentacles rose up around her enemy, thick and angry, jerking at the agent, pulling at her, mouths gnashing.

Get her away from me! she thought to the magic, commanding it as she tried to dance back away. Keep her away!

Scylla struggled away from the Captain as her tentacles took over the 'hand to hand' as it were, allowing her to struggle back, holding her deeply bleeding arm to her midriff. Bright red, and far too much of it, and the pain lanced up her whole arm. A vague half-look- it wasn't bright enough to mean she'd had her wrist cut, one of her- ugh.

The world swam, but the Captain was gone. She gripped her sash, tying it around the cut, and stayed powered the whole way home. her extra healing factor would surely help?

It was a quick phone call once ensconced in her own home that got her doctor to come and stitch up the wound. Hopefully it would look better before she had to meet Elzo, the twins, and Ice later today.
