Giulia had a great affection for animals. All of the animals. So many animals! And so when the opportunity ever came that she may be in a position to lay kisses and spoils and affection upon such creatures as four-legged flufflebutts, she was all in. All hands on deck. All for the pettins. Spoil the animals, feed them, collect them and start an animal farm. Or at least just fill the big house with so many animals that all the rooms were full. Jada thought the house was big and lonely, and sometimes, Giulia felt the same way. There was so much about it, and not as much laughter as there might have been. So many rooms had no one sleeping in them, and it felt strange. So puppies and kitties would make it feel less empty, and make the house feel less sad. Her plan was that when Jada came home, she would be confronted with said army of kitties and puppies, and then she would submit and give Giulia all of them. It was known. It was clear. It was going to happen, if only she could make the animals stay! The kitties were running away, and the puppies were stealing her food and being growly and one of them had tried to bite her. But f she completed her goal, then there was no way that Jada would make her give up all the lovely pets, or take them to the pound- and she knew Jada wouldn't just set them free. One had to be a reposible (was that the right word?) pet owner and take care of their health. But back to what had led her on this merry trail of thinking; there, not that far from her, was a kitty. Not just any kitty. One of the pretty star-head kitties, and all by itself. Which clearly meant that it required love, and Giulia was one hundred percent the perfect person to give the kitty the aduly-lun-late- the love that the kitty so clearly needed. “Kitty!” she called cheerfully, in her high-pitched, young voice. “Pretty kitty, look at me. I have a snack for you!” What did she have as a snack today. “I'll share!” she opened up her bag, digging around. An apple. Some chips. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A single chocolate mint. A thing of sugar free jello. She sighed. “You can have chips?”

Brioche had been wandering the streets a little aimlessly when Giulia had found him. He was more than a little listless and discouraged these days since the hunt for his bonded person seemed to keep ending in failure. Every scent he tracked and every signature he thought was right turned out wrong and he was left sadly wanting and pining for ever. It didn't seem quite fair to him, but what did he know, he was just some poofy old cat.
That being said, he still managed to find joy when approached by a young girl, especially since there wasn't any danger to be had. Even MORE joy could be had when the little girl offered him a snack. While he wasn't the fattest cat out there, he certainly was a hungry one.
Tentatively he approached and sat infront of her, fluffy tail swishing back and forth in minor excitement.
"Pretty Kitty does enjoy chips." He spoke softly and in jest, his voice not exactly deep but rich in it's sound and clearly that of an older man. "You are very sweet to wish to share with me."

Kitty came closer to her, and Giulia giggled in joy, wriggling her way down to her knees, holding out the chip. Just a little closer, pretty kitty. And then kitty spoke. And it wasn't a meow, either, it was an actual.... man-voice. From fluffybutt kitty. With its pretty, waggly tail. Giulia's brow furrowed, ad she looked from side to side, looking for the man, but there was.... no one there. "Kitty?" her confusion was clear. "Are you a magical kitty?" she paused. Sighed. "Of course you're a magical kitty." But... had the kitty really spoke?

Brioche couldn't help but swish his tail in an amused, fashion as the girl came to realize just what his nature as a being was. It was cute, her confusion, and in hindsight maybe it wasn't the best idea to reveal himself to a normal human, but hey, too late now!. Atleast he got a chip out of it!
Once within range of her hands, he gently took the chip from the girl and took a big bite out of it, chewing it happily.
"I am, indeed a magical kitty. Though... I'm not sure if I was supposed to tell you that or not... Ah, oh well. My name is Brioche, little one, what's your name?"

AH! Giulia's face glowed as she realized she was feeding chips to a magical kitty. AH! If she had been in a position to clasp her hands together, jump a little bit in place, and scream.... she would have. Unfortunately, she was not in a position to do so, so Giulia instead made some garbled, reverent choking noise. Magical kitty took a bite, and chewed, and she almost died. "Giulia." she whispered to the Brioche, eyes almost starry with excitement. "Are-" her mind flicked to other starry-headed kitties, their love for chips, and... "Are all starry kitties magical? Or are you just special, Brioche?"

Brioche continued to chomp away at the chip for a moment, watching the girl react and finding it highly amusing. She was really adorable! Meeting children like this, who weren't all grabby handed and rude always did make an evening very nice for him. Normally he didn't talk though. Oops.
"Good evening, Giulia." He said with a mouthful, and licked his lips before sitting on his hindlegs and looking up at her again.
"I do not know, do all little girls give snacks to kitties?" His voice wasn't condescending or teasing, just curious as he pawed the remains of his chip before eating it all up. "I'd like to think I'm a little special. I'm out here looking for my friend. What are you doing out here?"

He talked again, and her eyes widened still further, giggling with more excitement. Castor never talked to her, and neither di any of the kitties at the stores, or the kitties her friends had. Truly, this was a sign that she was a princess. Truly, this was a sign that she was special. Brioche sat up on his back legs, and Giulia's eyes went wider as she tried to straighten herself up to full size. "All good little girls give snacks to kitties." her tiny voice was firm. "And all good kitties answer little girlses questions." her tiny nose wrinkled, and she watched him eat the last of the chip. "I am out here to sit. I want to bring lots of kitties and puppies home. Who is your friend? Is it another magic kitty?"

"If all little girls give kitties snacks then I must not know many little girls. Thank you." While he didn't typically talk to non-magical people, he couldn't help but allow himself to slip up every now and then. Partially he did so for amusement for himself, the other part was to let the knowledge that not all cats were horrible things and to spread rumors about magical ones, in hopes that the people of DC would treat more strays properly.
"What question?" Brioche was taking far too much delight in teasing his new little friend, his tail swishing in a big fluffy blur as he spoke and gave a toothy cat-grin. Ultimately, he was nice enough to answer her.
"My friend isn't a kitty, I think they are special too, but I haven't found them yet. My nose tells me they smell like fluffy fresh baked bread, though."

"Not many good little girls," Giulia agreed. "Kitties and puppies require all the love and spoilings and affections." It was known. It was part of the little girl oath. That the magical kitty didn't know many good-taught little girls was a bad sad thing. Almost as bad-sad as the kitties and puppies who didn't live with Giulia but lived in the yucky pen-house. Pretty Kitty decided to tease her, and Giulia gave a loud, playful huff, reaching out to scratch his ears. "You know what question," she protested, wrinkling her nose. Luckily, he answered this time, and she tilted her head, considering. "Do you need help finding your friend? I don't have a very good bread-nose, but I can walk you around, if you want company. Otherwise, I can give you... my sandwich? And you can have the food to help you keep searching for your friend."

"Ah, of course! Good little girls. You are incredibly sweet, thank you." Were Brioche less fluffy, a nice little pleased color would come across his cheeks. She certainly was such a kind little girl!
His tail swished happily as the girl scratched behind his ears, and he pressed his head against her hand, purring. How could he resist!
"Thank you for the offer to assist, but I do not wish to bother you. It will be getting dark soon enough, and that's when my friend is likely to come out. As kind as you are, you should not be out after dark, Miss Giulia." The mention of the sandwich was incredibly appealing, though
"I would not mind a bit of your sandwich, however! I can keep it under my hat for safe keeping until I am hungry again."

Giulia giggled, cheeks flushing with pleasure at being called sweet. She did try and be a good little girl, and the calling out of her effort made her so happy! If she wasn't doing the pettings, she might have cheered, or done more than just blush and giggle. His soft, kitty head pressed against her tiny hand and she resisted the urge to coo at the magical kitty. That might hurt his feelings if she forgot and treated him like a normal cat. But he was purring, and it was so cuuuuuuute. Such a mannerly kitty too, concerned that she might be out late. "If you are sure," she said dubiously; it was a strange friend that wouldn't come out until play time was over. Giulia's unhappy face was brief and then moved on- no use in sad! A bit of sandwich she could definitely do, and Giulia pulled it out carefully. The sandwich had been cut into 4 triangles, just like Giulia liked, and she selected the largest for Brioche. "Will this be enough since you are kitty sized? Or do you need more?"

"I am sure, and it is plenty, thank you." He nodded just a bit before taking his big poofy hat off. Once the sandwich was offered, he gently took it from Giulia's hand between his teeth, and placed the quarter into his hat. It was a tight fit, but good enough! Brioche then slipped his hat back on then gave the wee lass a happy little grin.
"Thank you so much, Miss. If I am out and about and come across some sweet kittens or a cat that would love a home, I'll be sure to send them your way. I'm sure they'd absolutely adore having a sweetheart such as yourself as their friend. They may not talk though, if that's okay."
Though winter was over, there were still plenty of kittens and cats that were struggling out in the chilly spring air. Surely one or two or ten wouldn't mind coming by to give the sweet Miss a few snugs. He'd make sure they wouldn't have fleas either!

It was fascinating to watch Brioche remove his hat and slide the sandwich under it, and Giulia shifted, peering with interest in her bright blue eyes. He was such a talented, smart magic kitty. As the hat slid back on, she giggled, teeny hands clapping. "Of course you are welcome, Brioche," she assured him softly, beaming happily, "I would be happy to have new friends. I'll make sure to be nice to all the kitties who can't talk, and make sure all the star-head kitties get lots of love as well, okay?" Sending kitties her way was the best idea. "I can take care of lots of kitties," she told him eagerly, "We have a big house and it is warm and we have plenty of food."

"Lots of kitties need lots of love, and you do look like you have lots of love to give so I will send as many kitties as I can to say hello." He promised, going closer to her once more to press his head against her leg as a sign of good will. And perhaps to get another pet before he continued on his way.
"I have to go now though, Miss Giulia, so do get home safely now, okay? And if you need any help, you can leave a note right there and I'll come by every few days to check, just okay? And my kitty friends will come and let me know if there's anything too!" He truly did hope the little one would be alright.... And could manage to stay out of this war. She seemed far too sweet to be mixed up in all this craziness.
"For the next time you're looking for kitties, try cheese. We really love cheese!"

Giulia leaned down as Brioche approached, tiny fingers scratching behind kitty ears, and a childish kiss pressed to the kitty's starry face. "That sounds real good!" she enthused to him, excited by the idea of a lot of kitties coming to visit her. "I will go home real quick and make sure I be safe," she promised. "I will write you notes to say hi, and let you know I am fine, and tell you about the kitties you send to me!" it was like having a pen-pal! Cheese! the little blonde nodded eagerly. "I will keep cheese in mind, Brioche," she promised. "I have to go home though too, so, you be good and safe too and I hope you find your friend, okay?" Kapoodles Fin on your tag? =D Or this can be close!
