Khaleel was a mysterious sort of creature. He had come into the lives of senshi and Fiona like a whirlwind, establishing a place as a friend and then squally was whirlwinded back to his parents place in Jordan where he spent some time with them. Almost...almost a years worth of time. Of course, he wouldn't leave his best friend behind without things, so he made sure to text her and send her letters AND he flew her out first class to visit him and his parents villa.
But now he was back in Destiny City, with an apartment he was suppose to fill with living items since his parents were like...okay no more freeloading on friends and whatever.
Except instead of being in his apartment, he was lounged out on Fi's living room floor like a cat.
"And then, Father said that you were too pretty and smart to be my bride." Khaleel made a loud sighing sound, "My father has not stopped talking about you since you visited. He still emails me about you." He looked over at the redhead with his green eyes winking. "What should I tell him?"

While Khaleel was gone, Fiona had missed him but life kept her too busy to visit him as often as she would have liked, but they had managed because technology was a wonderful thing. They still spoke frequently and she couldn't help but inquire every so often when he was coming home.
Fiona didn't like having her best friend in a place so far away like Jordan.
"Your parents were lovely, you know that?" Fiona replied, siting in the chair kitty corner to the couch that the man was sprawled out across. "Your father is welcome to e-mail me you know, I wouldn't mind." Frankly, Fi thought it was cute that his father cared so much about her after the short trip.
"You can tell him that, while we'd make a lovely match, we're unfortunately not destined for each other." She spoke cheerily, even if there was the nagging feeling of something else pressing against her. "I'm unfortunately off the market..."
Had she told Khaleel about Pat? She wasn't sure.

She would think that his father's charming personality was cute. After all, she thought he was cute and that made them best friends. He made a small face and waved his hand in the air. "Father is father, I could tell him you were married and-" Except her words sunk in and his green eyes widened.
Fiona off the market? Fiona was not single? Fiona, his best friend, whom he would consider the closest person to him besides his guardian cat and Colin....Taken?
His body lifted up, like one would see the cyrptmaster rise out of his grave and his eyes blankly looked at her.
"To whom?" He made the voice as dead pan as he could but his face was showing some real concern. "I don't know about this?" His small cry of anguish was well...just that, anguish.

Fiona had to put her hand over her mouth to suppress the giggle that had surfaced when Khaleel sat up and stared at her wide-eyed and surprised. Hiding her smile behind slender fingers, the redhead shrugged, drawing her knees closer to her chest.
"It's been just over a year now." Which was surreal in itself, knowing that she had been seeing the same man for a year even if the time they spent together was fleeting and spotty at best.
"Our schedules don't align much, he works a lot of nights and with everything," she waved her hand in the air to imply their senshidom without having to say it. "I- " she hesitated, looking a little embarrassed.
"I haven't really told anyone. Not because I'm ashamed, but - it just hasn't come up." She had been meaning to let Cordelia know, but with everything with Arin and Lucien and conflicting schedules...
Fiona couldn't remember the last time she had spent time with her partner.
"His name is Pat. He's really wonderful and I think you'd like him."

"It's been a year." Khaleel placed a hand on his forehead, "Oy Vey!"
It's been a year and he was finding out now and what kind of best friend was he?!?! THE IGNORANT KIND.
"It is coming up now, no?" He waved his hand around, like he was feeling faint.
He was being overly dramatic to be honest, because he just couldn't believe the happiness of this news.
"Pat." His voice was deadpan again and the name came off as a short blunt statement. What a simple name for his Fiona. He was judging now. He was totally judging.
"Pat."

"A year," she echoed quietly. In truth, Fiona was still surprised that her and Pat had made it this far with little to no roadblocks or bumps. At the same time, she felt guilty that very few people in her life knew about their relationship.
She couldn't pin Cordelia down worth a damn to even try and bring it up. Eventually, she'd given up trying and Khaleel had been coming and going for a majority of it and it just never came up.
"Yeah, it is." She grinned, surprised at how relieved she was to know that someone knew about her boyfriend and she could talk to them about him.
"Hey, be nice. Pat is short for Patrick and he's really good to me. You'd like him."

"A year." Khaleel made a small noise again as if the facts hadn't been stated TWICE now.
He shrugged at her comment, making a small face of...pouting. He was pouting to be honest.
"I might like this Pat. Patrick. Pat. I might." He just shrugged, "No one is good enough for my Fiona! But that's because I am biased. How did meet?" He rose a brow, "Does he know about....Dene?"
Because he would like to think that if she was serious about him and had been for the year, then he would probably know about her powered side....

This time Fiona hummed instead of giving a proper response. Time had been moving forward and they'd hardly had any chances to catch up properly. Hell, she was lucky to see people outside of clients half the time anyway.
Maybe that was just the way things went as you got older.
Being a magical superhero probably didn't help either. Still, Fiona tried her very best to keep the people she cared about as active members of her life.
Khaleel hit her with some questions and she was pulled from her thoughts. "You'd like him, I promise." She refused to think otherwise. "We met on a blind date, I don't remember why I signed up." Probably because she was lonely, it happened when one of her friends was traveling back and forth from the states and home and when her other friend was too busy.
"No, not yet. It hasn't come up. We...we don't see each other that often."

Khaleel scooted closer down to his friend and played with her hair a little. Mostly to comfort himself and hoping that the redhead didn't mind.
"Will you tell him?" He cocked his head, "Is this Pat serious enough to know about Dene?" He scoffed and then sat back on his palms, her hair abandoned for a sheepish look.
"Am sorry that always out of town." He frowned, "Soon will be leaving again,
for a long time this time. We will still email each other yes?" He was worried about leaving Fiona, and even worst, leaving Denebola. Especially if Cordy and Fritz weren't around.
Ohana meant no one was left behind, and he didn't want Fiona to feel left behind.

"Eventually, when the time is right." When that would be, she had no idea but she planned on telling him some day. Some day just kept getting put off over and over again.
"It's okay," she reached for her friend's hand and offered him a smile. "You've got a life outside of me." She never expected to be the first in anyone's world. The last time she'd done that she'd gotten her heart smashed to pieces and she still hadn't recovered.
"Just come and visit sometimes, okay?"

"Yes of course." He hugged her tightly and frowned, "You are one of best friends to me Fiona. If anything happen, you call me immediately? I will make time for you!"
And he would do his best to visit when he could, and and and....
"This Pat will be good to you while I am gone, I make sure." He hugged her again. Besides, he needed to enjoy what little time he had left with her now since he'd be leaving soon.
So they'd watch movies and talk more anyways. And when he left, he made sure to spam her emails ALL THE TIME.
