The Cloudridge Gym is the 1st gym. The leader specializes in Grass-Type Pokemon and gives away the Herbal Badge and TM86 (Grass Knot) to any trainer that beats him/her.
Kit brushed her bangs from her face as they talked, this guy was ok. Normally she had a harder time talking with others, pokémon she could handle but people not so much. Being one of nine siblings and the oddball at that didn’t do much for her social skills. Kit pulled her mind back fully to the conversation.”I don’t have much of a green thumb myself. Love the getting messy part but keeping track of tending the plants is just not my thing. I would rather take care of something more… huggable. I have had pokémon around me since I was born, in fact my Isis is the daughter of my parents flareon and umbreon, same with Rensha. Your daddy is my daddy’s arcanine isn’t he… oh yes”Kit cooed at her partner, getting him a loving pat.
Kit grinned a little at the butterfree landing on her. It reminded her of all the grass and bug types her sister had or rescued. She listened to him talk about his jobs and nodded. ”My sister is great, she runs a nursery and center for abandoned or rescued pokémon on that land…. Looking at her you would never think she could throw down… She likes to cook and make treats for pokémon and people. Then again since she is the oldest girl among nine children she had to learn hu” Kit laughed. His garden sounded amazing and peaceful, a place she would enjoy a calming moment.
When he spoke again her jaw dropped, he knew the way? That was perfect then, but was she ready? She bit her lower lip and toyed with a strand of hair for a moment. Isis and Rensha nudged her, bringing a smile to her face. She smirked a little and looked him in the eye.”Well that worked out just perfect then didn’t it? Let’s go, I am ready. Lead the way.”Kit answered, her pokémon agreeing with her. She returned Rensha so he could save his energy but let Isis walk with her. Isis was very rarely in her pokeball. Kit followed Jay to the gym, feeling excited and nervous about her challenge.

⤷XXXXXJay smiled as he listened while Kit spoke, leading her to the Gym as they talked. He could see that she loved her Pokemon very much, and her Pokemon loved her, in return. He blinked when Kit mentioned that her sister ran a nursery and care center for abandoned or rescued Pokemon, and that the older girl liked to cook treats for both Pokemon and people. "She sounds like someone that loves what she does," he said, smiling.
⤷XXXXX Jay smiled a bit more at the surprise on Kit's face when he offered to show her the way to the Gym, and he watched as she returned Rensha to his Pokeball before following him to the Gym. When they reached it, he gestured for her to enter first, then followed her inside. "Oi, Jay, we're getting ready for lunch!" Andy, another chef, called out, catching sight of Jay returning. "Sorry, Andy, I've got something to do first," Jay said, indicating Kit with a nod. "Ah, you've got a challenger, then?" Andy said, giving a knowing smile. "In that case, good luck to both of you!"

Kit walked along with him, chatting as Isis walked next to her. Kit shrugged when he mentioned her sister loving what she does.” Ame has always known what she wanted to do. No surprised Rose became an leafeon…. She is very good at what she does. The work suits her, she rarely gets mad. She has a patience you rarely see in people, especially considering the rest of us…”Kit told him with a smirk. Isis laughed at that comment, her own siblings were just as crazy. Kit bent down to pick isis up and carry her the rest of the way.
When they reached the gym she grinned and looked around as she entered the gym first. When the man called out to Jay, she paused with a puzzled look. The gym was the restaurant? How strange, wait he owned the restaurant. Kit’s mouth dropped open as the man confirmed the thought trail. She opened and closed her mouth a few times in surprise. ” You are the gym leader?! Oh my…. I almost took the leader out… literally…. Why didn’t you just say so! Ugh now this is weird… Tsk I might even feel bad when I win”Kit huffed, hugging Isis to her a little before she jumped down a moment later. She had to be confidant, doubts were ones downfall. Something Ace had taught her. She shook the thought of her brother from her head and looked at Jay with determination. ” Ready when you are”

⤷XXXXXJay smiled when Kit said that her sister, Ame, was good at what she did, and that she had a patience rarely seen in people. When Andy said good luck to both of them, Jay glanced at Kit to see how she would react, and he couldn't help smiling as it registered that he was the Gym leader. He couldn't help chuckling when she asked why he didn't just say he was the Gym leader. "You didn't ask," he answered, then nodded when she said she was ready when he was. "In that case, follow me," he said, then beckoned to her as he led the way to a room off to the side.
⤷XXXXX Jay opened the double doors that led to the battlefield, then flipped the lights on. As the light flooded the room, he could see Eggy, his Alolan Exeggutor, lying in the middle of the battlefield, apparently taking a nap. "Come on, Eggy, up you come," he said, patting the Grass/Dragon type gently. Eggy raised his head and looked at Jay before getting to his feet and rambling off to one side, where he laid down again. Jay smiled, then turned to Kit. "I apologize for not telling you right away that I'm the Gym leader," he said. "One of the things I like to do when meeting a challenger for the first time is to see how they react to certain situations, such as the way we met. It gives me a chance to gauge how they might react during a battle."

Kit crossed her arms and huffed at his remark, but she pushed the remarks she thought of away. She had to stay focused. Isis walked next to her as they walked into the room off to the side. Kit thought about his butterfree, was he a bug type gym then? She had seen those before, or perhaps a flying gym? She didn’t have any electric pokémon but she could work with it. Isis shivered in anticipation of what was to come, she wondered if she would get a shot to battle. Kit crossed her arms across her chest as she let her brain start working.
When she saw the alolan Exeggutor she couldn’t hide her surprise. She chewed on her lower lip for a moment in thought. She didn’t have any ice types nor did any of her team know ice moves. She tapped the heel of her boot in thought, the pokémon didn’t seem so interested in fighting. That could be a good thing for her, still she would hold off on using one of hers just in case.” Well don’t expect that to give you an edge here. I grew up with eight other siblings… I am very good at adapting. No matter what you throw at us, we will be ready. Right girl? Besides… how we met isn’t a common occurrence for me… Anyway lets get this show on the road. Nothing gets us fired up more than a battle”Kit said with a smirk. Isis agreed, looking determined and excited for battle. It had been too long since they last had a battle.

⤷XXXXXJay could almost see the gears working in Kit's mind as she wondered whether the Gym was a Bug-type Gym, and he could see the surprise when she saw Eggy. "Don't worry about Eggy, I don't use him for Gym battles," he said. "He's mostly here to keep an eye on the battlefield, though I do like to test his skills every now and then." He looked up when the referee approached, and nodded in response to the man's unanswered question. "Let's get this battle going, shall we?" he said, and motioned for Kit to take her place at one end of the field.
⤷XXXXX Once they were both in place, the referee took his place on the stand to one side of the battlefield. "This will be a 5-on-5 battle between Jay, the Gym leader, and Kit, the challenger," the ref said. "The battle will be over when all Pokemon on one side are unable to battle. In addition, only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokemon. Are you both ready? Then let the battle begin!""Don't hold back on me, Kit, alright?" Jay said, holding a Pokeball behind his back. "And I hope you're ready for this. Loomy, help me out!" Pulling out the Pokeball from behind his back, he threw it into the air, and it opened to reveal Loomy, his Shroomish. "The first move is yours, Kit!" Jay called.

Kit stared at the alolan pokémon once more before nodding. She had a few guesses on what his types were, but until he revealed his first one she wouldn’t know for sure. Kit walked over to her place opposite to him and smirked. She gave a small nod to Jay and the ref, Isis sat at her feet waiting patiently. ”Oh don’t worry… I don’t know the meaning of hold back. Lets go”Kit said with a grin. When he choose a shroomish she couldn’t help but grin a little. She pulled out her first pokémon, her Charmeleon.”Go Synge, lets show them what we got. I actually have a shroomish named Broom. Go Synge, hit it hard”Kit directed and the battle started.
The battle waged on for a while, Kit frowned at some of her pokémon going down. She did a risky move and choose Kurenai, her Trapinch, after her gold vuplix was knocked out. Kurenai did better than Kit thought, she secured the win for her. Kit stared in shock before running up to her Trapinch and scooping her up with a yell. She tossed her up and down, hugging Kurenai in excitement.[#000080]” You did it, good job. You so made up for biting Rensha’s tail earlier. We did it!” Kit cheered, spinning Kurenai around and cheering as Isis danced around her feet. Kit stopped and cleared her throat before grinning at Jay.”Thank you, that was a great battle. It was fun.”

⤷XXXXXJay let Kit start the battle, and her Charmeleon began with Ember, which hit Loomy hard, since she was a Grass type. "Loomy, use Charm!" Jay called, and the Grass-type obeyed, effectively lowering Synge's attack. It wasn't enough to stop the Fire-type from knocking out Loomy, and Jay called her back with a word of thanks before sending out his next Pokemon, Happy, his Lombre. The battle went on for some time, and in the end, Jay was only able to knock out two of Kit's Pokemon before she finally defeated him, using her Trapinch, of all Pokemon. "Come on back, Arrow, you did well," he said, recalling his fallen shiny Rowlet.
⤷XXXXX Jay watched as Kit stared at Arrow in shock before running to her Trapinch and spinning it around, cheering that they did it. When she calmed down and looked at him, saying it was a great battle and thanking him, the Grass-type Gym leader smiled and nodded as he took the case holding the Gym badge from the referee. "You and your Pokemon did very well, Kit," he said. "I haven't had that much fun in a battle for some time, and I thank you for that. As proof of your victory at the Cloudridge Gym, I present you with the Herbal Badge, and this TM86 Grass Knot." He waited until she'd taken the badge, then spoke again. "Now tell me, did you learn anything from our battle, Kit?" he asked.

Kit smiled at him a bit as she shifted to holding Kurenai under one arm. Kurenai stared at the badge with interest. Isis growled a little and glared at the quiet troublemaker. Kit looked down and shook her head, setting Kurenai on the ground.”Oh no you don’t, this is not for you to eat or chew on.”Kit scowled at her. She looked back to Jay, unable to stop smiling. She took the TM first and placed it into her bag before gently taking the badge. She held it up the light a little and grinned. She could barely stand still, the adrenaline starting to calm a little in her. Isis stood on her hind legs to get a better look at it.”It has been a while since I had this much fun in battle as well. I couldn’t be more proud of them….They were amazing.”
Kit smiled closed the case and placed it into her bag before looking up at him, brushing a strand of hair from her face. His question surprised her, what had she learned? She chewed her lower lip a bit before smiling. ” Besides the fact you are tricky? I suppose I learned not everything is so simple, you looked to have bug types having a butterfree. Then I wondered if it was grass or maybe dragon types… I also learned… Kurenai here… she can do it. She is an ornery thing who likes playing pranks… and I had wondered if she could handle gym badges just yet. I tested her out in this match. I think we all learned she can be serious hu? I am proud of her, of all of them. I couldn’t do this without them. Thank you” Kit told him, petting her trapinch once more. Kurenai looked pleased, bouncing a little in excitement.

⤷XXXXXJay smiled as Kit reprimanded Kurenai, her Trapinch, then said it had been a while since she'd had that much fun in a battle, as well. He listened as she answered his question, and her answer intrigued him. "Like I said before, I like to test how those that challenge my Gym will react in different situations," he said, when she was finished speaking. "Flutter and Eggy were part of that test, but they aren't the only ones I've got that I don't use for Gym battles. I've got many Pokemon back home, in the Alola region." He fell silent for a moment, smiling as Kurenai bounced a little in excitement, then spoke again.
⤷XXXXX"It was in the Alola region that I learned to battle the way I do," he said. "When I took the Island Challenge on each of the four islands that make up the Alola region, I learned many different things, such as the fact that not all people and Pokemon battle the same way. By challenging Gyms in different regions other than Alola, I learned that each Gym leader had their own style, as do many trainers. But most of all, I learned that in order to be successful in a battle, I needed to trust my Pokemon, and that we had to work together as a team. You and your Pokemon have shown a wonderful bond of friendship and love, and I wish you the best in the rest of your Gym battles." Then, as if remembering something, he looked at Kit again. "How would you like to stay for lunch?" he asked. "It's on the house, for giving me such an exciting battle."

Wearing Swim trunks, sandals, and a simple white tee, Onyxia made her way through the gym. Having set up her gym in Mossdeep the Surfer girl hardly looked like the role. She was on her way to visit Jayson, as they had been friends for a little while, plus he was an amazing cook. "Jayson! Where are ya Bud?" Grinning as Vic, her Vicinti, her partner was jumping from tray to tray with some banana's in hand. "Vic... that’s rude, off the trays." Catching the little terror and the banana's. "Fresh too." She looked to the other person and smiled. "Sorry, I’m Onyxia Bondi, the little rascal here is Vic." Pulling her hair back and putting it in a pony tail. It was a simple look, but she liked it. "So... I missed something didn’t I?"
Kit smiles a little at him as he spoke. So he came from Alola then, that explained Eggy then. " I can understand that. Its what you know. I grew up mostly in kanto, my father is a retired gym leader so we are used to how gyms work here. Plus we have traveled other regions before, however we have never been to Alola yet. "Kit told him with a smile. When he asked her to stay for lunch she arched a brow.Isis and Kurenai stared up at her with interest. Kit smiled a bit and nodded. [color#000080]"Sure, that would be great thanks. It's been a while since we've eaten... These guys are hungry after that fight anyway. Thanks, and I agree that battle was awesome" Kit agreed with a slight grin. Her partners jumped with excitement.
When the woman burst in with an excited Victini Kit jumped a little. She seemed to know Jay, when she introduced herself Kit nodded."Nice to meet you both. I'm Kit, this is Kurenai and Isis. I uh just challenged the gym... That's all "

⤷XXXXXJay nodded when Kit said his battle style was what he knew, and he was a bit surprised when she said her father was a retired Gym leader. "If you don't mind me asking, what other regions have you been to, Kit?" he asked. "Alola is a beautiful place to visit. Each island has its own Island Guardian, which are all Pokemon, and there are Pokemon there that aren't found anywhere else, as well as Pokemon that have different forms than their Kanto counterparts, as you saw with Eggy." He was about to say something else when a familiar voice caught his attention, and he looked up to Onyxia and Vic, her Victini, burst onto the battlefield.
⤷XXXXX"Still as energetic as ever, I see, Onyxia," he said, grinning at his fellow Gym leader. "How are the waves over in Mossdeep?" It was well-known that Onyxia loved to surf, and that her Gym was a combination tattoo parlor/surf shack/Gym, much like Jay's was a berry/herb garden/restaurant/Gym. It made for an interesting scene, no doubt.
⤷XXXXX Before he could say anything else, he heard a slight commotion from the direction of the restaurant, and he beckoned for the girls to follow as he went to check it out. As he stepped into the garden area, a blur of purple ran past him, and Jay took a step back so that he wouldn't be knocked over. "Come back here, you little thief!" Andy called. Thinking quickly, Jay pulled a dark-type poffin from his apron pocket and called out to the fleeing Purrloin. "I've got something that tastes a lot better than that spoon," he said. Catching the scent of the poffin, the Purrloin turned and made its way back to Jay, who knelt down and held the treat out. Sniffing it, the dark-type dropped the spoon it had stolen and snatched the poffin before bolting out the open doors. "Purrloin have a habit of stealing shiny things," he said, turning to Onyxia and Kit. "That one happens to love the poffins I make for Dark types, so it saves a lot of hassle buying new silverware all the time."
⤷XXXXX Just then, something hit Jay's leg, and he looked down to see Moonlight, his Umbreon, headbutting him. "Speaking of Dark types, this is Moonlight," he said. "He's another of my resident Pokemon, and one of the first I ever caught. Onyxia, I don't think you or Vic have met Moonlight, have you?" He knelt down and offered another Dark-type poffin to Moonlight, who promptly took it and gobbled it down, licking his lips afterward.

Onyxia smiled and nodded a little. "Always! And the swells are amazing or at least lately they have been. Alola always has the best surf." Vic waved to Moonlight before grabbing some berries and juggling. Onyxia shook her head at the sight. "Oooo a Trainer. We will face each other someday, maybe catch some waves, give you a tattoo. But you are right Jay, we have not met Moonlight. I think Vic though is my... most playful resident." As an idea popped up she grabbed her phone and showed pictures of Jay in a little surfer outfit. "Vic is just too cute in these and it also embarrasses the little rascal." Turning back to Kit she nodded. "I see a bright future for you Kit, you’ll go places and probably run into a sneaky Sneasel if you haven’t seen the Professor yet. I would show more of my team but a fair amount of them need Water." Looking back to Vic who seemed to be having his own conversation with Moonlight, Isis, and Kurenai. It was always good to see when Vic seemed to have made friends. "But congratulations still, beating a Gym leader isn’t an easy task in the first place."
