Hobbies: Baseball - Jolene is a complete jock and loves competing in one of the local recreational baseball leagues. Being in top physical form is important to Jolene because she likes the way it makes her feel like she's capable of anything. Getting to play in a sport with a team of other athletic people gives her motivation to work well with others but also try to keep up with them and possibly even out do them performance-wise. Basically, the sport is an outlet for Jolene to work out, make friends, and push herself!
Cooking - With a big appetite, it was only a matter of time before Jolene started cooking for herself. While her original incentive was that she was hungry all of the time, Jolene has grown to enjoy making tasty food to share with others. She loves getting praised for the dishes that come out great but also equally enjoys reactions to things that came out badly. Cooking is an adventure! She is a fan of cheap greasy things as well as more cultured tastes, not really aiming to become a professional chef at the moment but enjoys all cuisines as a sort of playground she can experiment with.
Guitar - Initially Jolene had no interest in learning to play an instrument but as she grew she noticed it seemed to attract others and thus picked up a cheap guitar at a garage sale. She's since then practiced enough to be able to follow sheet music decently and likes to whip it out to serenade others to get attention. While Jolene isn't at the level of an actual musician, she's pretty good at covering up her mistakes by ad-libbing when she screws up. Aware that she's decent, Jolene is determined to get
good at guitar and does her best to find time to practice, despite not having any real goals for her music.
Virtues: Adaptable - Jolene is quick on her feet and also quick at adapting to any situation she's thrust in! When things go wrong, Jolene bounces back fast and will find a way to either fix things or minimize the problem. She's able to read how things are going and adjust herself or her environment to account for others, whether it be coming up with a way to comfort a sad friend or learn how to glue something back together. Jolene can be dropped into any spot and figure out a way to make it work!
Lively - Always up to something, Jolene is an energetic and friendly girl. She likes to keep busy, even if it's something small like trying to flip a pencil during studytime. Jolene is able to keep herself and others entertained and loves and crowd. Cheerful and social, she is good at engaging others as well as joining in to see what other people are up to. Fun and friendly, she is always around brightening some area with her silly antics.
Flaws: Audacious - It's great and all that Jolene's confident and bold but sometimes her behavior can be a little reckless or thoughtless. She doesn't always understand that she's overstepping her bounds or making assumptions that aren't okay. She doesn't try to act bossy on purpose but sort of tries to lead others into things she likes or manipulate situations towards her own desires without considering what others want. She tries to push for what she wants up until she reaches other people's limits and struggles with the delicate balance.
Forgetful - Part of why Jolene is good at adapting to things is because she's a very forgetful person. Her busy lifestyle doesn't leave her a lot of room to slow down and think. She'll show interest in a lot of different things and then forget half of them, which tends to disappoint those who she forgot. Flighty and kind of a ditz when it comes to the details, Jolene isn't great at keeping herself organized and is often scrambling to make it on time to things or failing to remember to bring back borrowed items. If you remind her enough times, eventually she'll get it but this girl is one who needs to be nagged if you really want her to do something!
