The top section of the the highest tower in Karst lays the observatory. The place in which a man is able to watch the world and beyond. It also happens to be the home of the Archmage. The tower was built from the bottom up with all ways out being sealed so that no one can gain entry climbing the tower. The only entrance from above restricting visitors to those who can fly. Though with sharp winds and jagged mountain tops all around this is a very dangerous trek. Only a very powerful flyer would be able to make it to this entrance unscathed.

Once inside it will become apparent just how incredible this home is. All the walls are lined with books, ancient tomes with spells and information on just about anything that can be imagined. Planets like the ceiling and tapestries of depictions of mythical creatures long extinct or lost to legend decorate the walls. At the very top lies a telescope that the Archmage has cast a very powerful spell on allowing him to see anywhere on this earth. He uses this to find new locations to visit and new people to see. It is an extremely powerful tool one that the Archmage cherishes.

This observatory is guarded by extremely powerful barrier magic making it very difficult for anyone to force their way in, and once inside a myriad of traps do exist to deter unwelcome guests from staying for long. Very few every see the this place and even fewer live to tell about what is inside.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

From within the gust of wind the roar of fire pierced through the snowy howls, the Archmage of Karst came in through the door and sighed shaking the snow from his form and allowing whatever lingered to evaporate away in moments. His grotesque appearance was a reflection of the act he had just committed. He had just slaughtered a village, eradicating a group raiders nearby. It wasn't the action that revealed this but the way it was carried out. He slaughtered them, burning each and every alive save for one so that the screams would be forever etched into the survivors mind and so that the raiders would not come near his city again. He looked around seeing the myriad of rare books and artifacts in his home and smiled softly if that were possible. His form didn't allow for such frivolities like emotion. It was good to be home and finally alone. He walked over to his desk and opened it up before pulling out a piece of dried meat snacking on it as he flicked his wrist causing a book to remove itself from the shelf and opened to a blank page. Surtr sat down and began to write, adding information to the book. It was title "Mythical creatures and their history." Surtr himself was writing on sprites updating the information from his most recent venture to Dragon's Reach.

After writing a bit filling a few pages Surtr set down his quill and flicked his wrist allowing the book to return to its place before taking another bite of the homemade jerky allowing a resounding Mmmm to escape his lips. A bottle and cup found their way to his desk and poured itself and Surtr took a drink before sighing. "Meat, Mead, and books.... what's not to love." He said aloud smiling softly as he stood in his domain. It wasn't too convenient to sit in this form so he would remain standing until he cooled off.

...and to the dust we shall return...

"It seems as though you enjoy that form of yours, Archmage of Karst." A smooth voice called from a shadowy corner of the room. The figure took two steps out and it's form was revealed to be that of a woman, likely about six feet tall, hair fashioned in a messy bob. Her lips reflexively curled up into a smile, though it was empty and without meaning. This woman had searched high and low for the College of Karst to seek out an old...friend. That friend, was Archmage Surtr I.

Phavia Ominura was the name of this woman and she had known Surtr for many years before. He was the one who had brought her back to Karst after her betrayal and was granted a full pardon by then King Xavier Torres. It appeared as if things had changed and the college had been moved to the mountains, a rough terrain for any race that hadn't adapted to it's harsh and unyielding climate. Blizzards pelted the land day in and day out, perfect defense against any that would've threatened to sack the college.

"Do you remember who I am?" Phavia asked, eyes hidden behind a black veil that she was able to see through(the opposite was impossible), scrutinized Surtr's present form. She inched closer, her heeled boots clicking against the stone of the floor. Though they were friends in the past, Phavia had to remain diligent, or her life would be taken from her...again.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

Words, from someone else echoed through the silent observatory. The hollowed skeleton of a man turned slowly to peer upon the intruder. To be able to enter she must be powerful. Coming into the light a pale woman appeared. "That voice" He mused causing the blue fire that clung to his form to rise a bit as if the sound of that woman served to draw something from him. Like a fan to flame it brightened his form. His hollowed eyes peered deeply at her unable to see through the veil. His skeletal form remained stoic but the fire that licked at him seemed to raging as if to hint a bit of excitement. "Yess... Being marked as curssed it every manss dream." He teased in reply, his voice hollow and laced with death. Pronouncing the letter "s" was an arduous task in this form and often lead to it being over accentuated yet another lovely side effect.

His ocular bones were hollowed back with two dull blue flames swirling deep within them it gave the appearance of a comatose man, though this wasn't the case. He was studying her.... trying to confirm his suspicion. He was a smart man someone strong enough to enter would be unwise to anger in such a fragile environment. So he would play her game until he could conclusively identify her. She asked a question wondering if he remember and yet again that voice reverberated through his mind. He stood motionless as she approached and then it came. Through the cavity where his nose would be that smile, pine.... and death. His skull would tilt back as a deep breathe would flow through him the smell consuming him and bringing back a myriad of memories pulling them from the recesses of his mind.

He stepped forward and his left hand rose the plate metal coating it gently brushing against her cheek. One would expect the steel to be cold, but it was warm unnaturally so. "Phavia...." He whispered softly as the hand retracted from her to return to his side. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" He inquired as a cup of mead poured itself lingering on the corner of the desk for Phavia to take if she so chose. She was different.... empty.... like him, though at least should could hide it. In this form it was exposed like a fresh wound for all to see.

...and to the dust we shall return...

Phavia almost nuzzled Surtr's...hand? It appeared as if the armor was cold like death but it was surprisingly warm to the touch. He cooed her name as if longing to see her once more. It had been years since Phavia had last seen Surtr, she was rash then and unafraid of death. She had saw the other side. Died in the most gruesome of ways, torn limb from limb. Her body was experimented on and she, some how, was brought back. There was nothing there. Nothing but darkness. No family, no loved ones, no heaven or no hell. This frightened Phavia and of all the emotions the woman could no longer feel, fear is the one that stuck. Fear was primal, felt deep within and not something that could be easily rewritten.

Phavia rose her hand and shook her head to decline his offer for a drink. "I do not come for idle chatter, Surtr." Her voice, though soft, was determined. Surtr knew her for years and could tell when she had her mind set on something. The rigged jawline, pursed lips. All signs pointing toward her wanting to get into something dangerous. "You are familiar with the island country of Ith correct?" Phavia knew that he did, but wanted to make sure she was as clear as possible. "My...birds tell me that a dungeon off her coast, as tall as this mountain, emerged from seemingly out of thin air. This puzzles me because not even you, can conjure a tangible object from nothing." Phavia described, her hand went to her chin in thought as she paced a bit. "Not only that, 150 men have entered the dungeon and have not returned. It's been three weeks..." The woman ceased her pacing and stopped to look at Surtr, to study him. His features could give no indication as to how he felt about the situation. "Though it is not our problem, I have a hunch that these dungeons hold the key to a wealth of not only knowledge, but power as well. What do you think?"

It was quite obvious that Phavia was trying to coerce Surtr into coming along with her. The thought of obtaining knowledge was his weakness and she was going to exploit that at the moment, but she didn't mean any harm. Surtr could read anyone like a book and being misleading never worked. Phavia had already tried time and time again, failing 10 times out of 10. She knew he was going to think this strange. The two hadn't saw each other for years and now she pops up with different and with knowledge of a dungeon that he couldn't possibly know of? She was sure he was going to have plenty of questions for her before he agreed.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

She declined his drink and the walking skeleton seemed to remain idle while she spoke. The flames that licked at his bones being the only movement of his form. It was unsettling to see a body so motionless, no rise and fall of the chest, no hair dancing in the subtle breeze that chilled the observatory. Nothing. Not even the steel that clung to him made a sound. She went through her whole speech covering it all and Surtr did not move his skull remained forward the sunken holes where his eyes should be were watching but there would be no indication of that. A statue appeared to stand before her.

Then she asked a question, as if her soft voice brought the creature to life Surtr suddenly moved going over to his desk and pulling out a satchel. "We leave in the morning." He said softly before grabbing a few pounds of dried meat a thing of water and some parchment to write with. Surtr knew Phavia wasn't one for games, she had given that up long ago. If she came to entice him with such a tale there must be something good there and in addition there must be something dangerous for her to tell him rather than go it alone. That or this was all a trap, he had noticed there was something different about her. She was colder now, though Surtr himself was colder. Compared to his old form he would be like ice. The flirtatious archmage had become calculating. With the loss of the mother of his child Surtr had changed, hints of him remained but for the most part his analytical side now maintained control. His mind had decided the reward was more than worth the risk. If anything he would get to find out more of Phavia's intentions, a woman so powerful was one to know. This would be enough but it appeared there was far more to be found.

After he finished packing his satchel with his armored hand being such not to use his other so nothing caught fire he turned to her. "I imagine we'll depart at dawn? It would be besssst for you to stay here..." He said his expressionless face aimed at her. His fiery hand rose slowly the finger pointing to a door that was open though what lay beyond the threshold was obscured the dark. "You may have my room, I'll sleep out here." He said offering her his abode. Surtr was a rather chivalrous person but in his current form her couldn't use the bed anyway. It took a while for him to "cool" off, that or something very unexpected had to happen but both possibilities were unlikely to happen.

After concluding their plan Surtr walked over to the back wall where a great map lay across it, he was obviously charting out their journey mentally. Unsure of what Phavia intended to do Surtr would get down to business. Something as tall as this mountain came from the sea? Whatever lay inside must be frightfully strong. The flames seemed to grow around Surtr his excitement rising at the prospect of finding something new. She had Surtr right where she wanted him, but then again this was exactly where Surtr wanted to be as well. It would appear their relationship was rekindling and Surtr for now saw it as symbiotic in nature.

Phavia remained still, waiting for Surtr's opinion to her findings. The woman narrowed her eyes from behind the translucent veil. He was eerily still, contemplating her words before deciding on his. "We leave in the morning." Phavia smiled inwardly as she was successful at getting Surtr to come along without actually having to ask him. He began packing without a single word and Phavia silently watched as he moved, deftly scooping up what he needed, deliberately. Phavia wished that she could tell what the man was thinking but alas she would have to ask at an opportune moment.

"I imagine we'll depart at dawn? It would be besssst for you to stay here..." Phavia nodded at his comment in acknowledgement. "I believe that would be the best course of action." The white haired woman motion to leave but Surtr's hand pointed to a door where he offered his room to her. "No." Phavia shook her head in defiance. "You will either sleep with me or I will sleep out here, " Her voice was even and absent of a seductive undertone however, her accent could easily coerce the mind into thinking that way. "Either way, since you've permitted, I will get comfortable." When Surtr moved over to the map, Pavia took it upon her self to find a chair off to the corner of the room and began to undress herself all the while keeping her eye of the Archmage

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

As she agreed Surtr nodded his mind pleased that they came to the same conclusion and would be departing soon. He was scanning out their journey trying to determine the best approach given the wind patterns and such. Though he stopped tracing over the massive map on the back of his wall. She just agreed that she should stay but decline his room? He went to turn when suddenly her words crossed through his mind. The fire that was constantly licking upon his body suddenly dulled her words snuffing out the flame. All that remained was a skeletal form. He was genuinely caught off guard by her words, she wasn't like this the last time they were together. She was never this bold or direct despite the lack of an alluring timbre something like this was never said.

She then said she would get comfortable and Surtr then turned so that he could dispute her claim when suddenly he saw her removing her clothes. "What the..." His words were cut off as black wisps of fire began to seep from his armor. Surtr sighed before turning and running out of the observatory. After a second a deafening eruption came and a few moments later the flap of wings was heard. A man entered plumage black as pitch covering his lower body up to his waistline. It ran up his back onto his shoulders and over his arms coating all the way down to his fingertips. Two large prominent wings large enough to easily carry Surtr and more clung to his back. They folded up resting as he sighed and the feathers would suddenly retracted off his arms and shoulder receding back to cover just his lower half. "What happened to you?" He inquired stepping closer to her his lavender eyes peering at her veil watching her now seeming unaffected by her removing her cloths.

Her continued to stride to her stopping just a few inches from her waiting. His body was chiseled, svelte in nature but incredibly defined. From thousands of years of adventuring and fighting Surtr had acquired a very impressive physique something that was uncommon for a mage. His chest was littered with scars all save one savage in nature. It looked like a bear or something had mauled the man, on his left side between two ribs laid a long scar precise in nature obviously cause by a medical blade. He looked at her veil studying every inch of her face wondering and waiting what she would say. Something had changed her something happened to make her so different and while the two seemed to be at an impasse for sleeping arrangements but that could wait for now. She would feel the natural heat emanating from Surtr an old familiar thing returned now in his this form, it would envelope her enticing her to tell him the answer to his question.

A rather confused expression crossed Phavia's features when Surtr whirled around. It was as if he was surprised by her actions. Those flames all but snuffing themselves out. The Archmage turned and ran from the observatory which prompted the porcelain skin woman to walk toward the balcony he had jumped from. Phavia pursed her lips as she waited for him to return, knowing that he would. Low and behold, he did. She backed away from his landing area to give him some room. Surtr landed gracefully and she couldn't help but clap her hands at the marvelous display. "It appears as if you are a man of many forms, Surtr." She stated as he approached, halfway expecting him to follow up with a witty remark or something about her undressing but it did not come. Instead, the archmage elected to address the elephant in the room.

"What happened to you?"

Surtr's eyes, that Phavia now saw and remembered were lavender, studied and scrutinized her, longing to stare through the windows of her soul. Out of force of habit, she averted her veiled eyes to turn away from the man with the body of a Viking warrior and walked toward the desk that held the cup of mead he had offered prior. Phavia took a breath before picking it up along with his to show him the same courtesy he'd shown to her. She handed him the cup, clinked hers against his and finished it's contents in a few gulps. "Put simply Surtr, I got what I wanted..." Phavia sauntered back over to the desk to place the cup back where it was, a very deliberate and mechanical action as if doing it to come up with a reasonable explanation for her actions. "I do not wish to hide anything from you Surtr but I fear you will not believe me. " Phavia began to untie the veil that hid her eyes and Surtr would understand just why she had worn it. Her eyes glowed an icy blue, something that forever marked her as the property of the First. "I died..."

She clapped and Surtr rolled his eyes. "Many forms perhaps but beneath it all the same man lurks." He said with a sigh replying to her little witty mark with a bit of wit of his own. When she came with the cup Surtr took it allowing the clink before opening his palm and allowing the cup to move back to the desk of its own volition. She spoke that she got what she wished. It caused his head to tilt, when the two parted ways her path was unclear. It appeared she had gotten what she came for and now she had returned? Something didn't quite add up. His eyes narrowed upon her as she walked back to the desk setting the cup down in a routine way. Like an automaton she move with precision but without life.

As she moved away he followed, like a dance they were somehow in perfect harmony. Every step back was a step forward, he would not budge on this. Especially after her following words. When she turned to him he would be just as close as before his warmth calling out to her as she turned. She began to undue the veil that concealed those eyes and as she gazed upon him Surtr's own eyes widened.

His wings fluttered and his body coiled. He saw the glow, the cold icy look.... He knew it all too well. Within a split second one hand was around her throat and the other cupped her cheek. His grip was firm but not tight and his touch on her cheek was gentle. He leaned in getting extremely close as he eyed the woman his lavender eyes shimmering as they peered into the luminescent ones before him. "This ....... was what you wanted? Why? Why have you come to me? Why did you let this happen?" Surtr said his voice soft but the words breaking. Pain was laced into each pause, each breath he took slow but loud enough to convey the wound those eyes had given him.

"Phavia....... why?" He pleaded looking upon her his thumb gently moving back and forth over her skin. She had become what he knew had never been destroyed. Her eyes brought back pain, suffering, and guilt. It washed over him as he looked to her and yet to see such a fond friend, a person he admired and cared for to become this. Surtr could not bring himself to snuff out what was such a bright fire. How could he? He was responsible for what she had become and he was responsible for her. He had failed her then and he couldn't fail her now.

His right hand that was around her neck moved to cup the other cheek so that he was now forcing her to look upon her. "Tell me what happened...." He said softly his words now strong as he requested more. She had come into his house, perhaps she thought he wouldn't know what she was regardless Surtr knew and was aware of what she had become. Though he knew the face of her master, and killing her wouldn't serve to end that being. So he would descend into the rabbit hole and see where it took him. Surtr wasn't normally one to get close, he wasn't one to touch, though in this moment Surtr cast those normalities aside. He was in the presence of an enemy that was now told the children to scare them at night, they had resurged it seemed and Surtr intended on finding answers.

...and to the dust we shall return...

Phavia halfway expected the reaction from Surtr. His body lurched forward and his hand went for her throat. She didn't resist, nor did she bring her hands up to protest him choking her. If Surtr wanted to kill her, he simply would've done so not gently caressed her cheek. Pure sadness welled in his eyes as they told the story of how he was feeling at the moment, while Phavia had nothing. She had particular emotion towards what she had just told him. She accepted the thought of her being a complete monster of legend. Surtr had questions of his own and she would answer them.

"This ....... was what you wanted? Why? Why have you come to me? Why did you let this happen?"

Phavia gulped, and a soft raspy breath escaped her lips. She placed her small hand on his wrist loosly but did not answer his questions. It was not defiance but silent determination. Determination to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. She didn't want to convey anything that could be misconstrued as a lie. Phavia was known for her silver tongue and her way with words could convey a lie when it was the truth. That's not at all what she wanted.

"Phavia....... why?"

Surtr pleaded again with her, his eyes moving around rapidly, desperately trying to discover any semblance of reasoning for Phavia to have become such an ungoldly being. His thumb rubbed her cheek underneath her eye and Surtr's other hand released her throat to cup her cheek, forcing her to look at him. Phavia breathed in deeply sharply.

"Tell me what happened...."

"I was killed Surtr. I know it." Surtr finally got Phavia to break. "One minute I was casting a spell for research, then..." Phavia paused as she fumbled to find her words, her breath became short. "My life flashed before me. I remember before the darkness my best memories were of you. That is why I am here." Phavia tore away from Surtr so she could catch her breath, leaning against the desk with her back turned to the archmage. "I do not wish to trick you. I do not wish to entrap you. I realize that I am this world's enemy and if you resign yourself to destroy me. Do it."

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

He looked upon her waiting watching. She moved her hand up its cool touch meeting his warm skin, it almost sent a shiver down his spine. To be so close to what he had sworn to eradicate. How could he kill her? How could he end her now? How could he destroy the one he taught alongside. His lavender eyes looked into those icy ones and arguably the most conflicted emotions welled up. Hatred for that color, and guilt for letting it happen to her. This was his fault in the end. He failed to keep his people from creating them and now she had become one. He couldn't kill her, no there was only one fallen he wished to kill.

She began to speak and it pulled him from his internal strife so that he was now hanging on her every word. His eyes raced across her face as she spoke taking in every possible detail he could to discern what she was saying. He knew of how convincing she could be and he was intent upon keeping from being fooled here. She spoke that she was here because he was her fondest memories and his eyes to widen in shock. What? She broke from his grip and his stunned demeanor allowed it, though as the cold left him it snapped him from his trance. She leaned against the desk facing away form him and spoke. She admitted knowledge of what she was and offered her life to Surtr. He saw an opening a moment to strike and he would take it.

Just as she told him to do it he moved in fast and swift, uncaring of her current form her words having dissuaded him from his typical nature of avoiding such close proximity to a woman like this. He whirled her around his body now against hers one arm wrapped around her waist the other against the desk knocking whatever lay atop off causing her to arch backwards a bit obviously establishing his position as one of dominance. His body was warm hers cold the two meeting like fire and ice. Even the feathers coating below his waist were would be warm and soft compared to the icy skin that Phavia now had.

His move was strategic he aimed to surprise her, to shock her in such a way that she would answer his question. His was close now just a few inches as his eyes were unrelenting in their gaze being sure not to miss this answer. "You said you came for me, and yet you mentioned that dungeon. Which is it?" He said so soft as if a whisper. The temperature of his body was rising slowly but his heart beat slow and steady his emotions in check as he awaited this answer. She had become what he sought to eradicate but eliminating a soldier would not clear out the infestation, not he needed the queen. Her answer would determine how their relationship would proceed.

It could have all ended so swiftly, with one flick of his wrist, Surtr could've ended the inevitable rise of the Fallen before it even started. However, the Faye didn't. In one swift motion, Surtr was upon Phavia, forcing her onto his desk with one hand around her waist. The Fallen woman opened her legs so that their hips were closer than ever. Surtr was soft and warm, a direct contrast to her hardened ice cold skin. Phavia's back arched as she assumed a rather subservient position to Surtr's dominance. His action was fairly surprising, evident by the stupefied expression plastered all over her face.

Phavia bit her lip in anticipation. Surtr just stood there, with his face mere inches from her own. His eyes darted left to right, trying to discern whatever he may think that she's hiding. In fact, Phavia was hiding one thing. She would never tell him this. She'd told him everything except for becoming a vessel for the most destructive creature in the history of the world; The First.

"You said you came for me, and yet you mentioned that dungeon. Which is it?"

Nothing that she had said tonight was a lie. Though the dungeon was mentioned to get into good graces with him, it had never been the focal point of their talk. She had wanted him to know that she was no longer the exact same person that she was before. In all honesty, she felt...better. She was more intelligent, quicker, stronger. Every physical and mental attribute that Phavia had possessed had been tripled since becoming the First, with no drawbacks. She no longer needed sleep, food or water in order to operate. Phavia Ominura had become the perfect instrument of war. "I admit, the dungeon was not the only reason I had come, Surtr. There was no way I could just come out and tell you that I've become the very monster that you and I studied but I wanted you to know. For better or for worse, I wanted you to know..."

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

He could have killed her, he still could the opportunity lay there. Her guard was completely down and she may no effort to hide it. It would be easy, a second of pain and she would be gone. Even if he could reconcile his guilt and push past it she was his greatest chance of finding the first. She was his key to opening the door he had been trapped behind for over ten thousand years. Even if he didn't care for her he couldn't kill her. He felt her cold presence her icy touch his body warming her slightly as if his proximity to her was breathing life back into her. Seeing her in this position if he wasn't desperately awaiting her response he would have immediately withdrawn avoid such things at all cost up until now.

Now he had to, such frivolous things like personal space were cast aside in order to truly discern Phavias motives. They were at a crossroad and her next words would determine the course of there relationship. Looking upon her astonished gaze if the two were in a different situation he would enjoy that look and savor it. Though right now he couldn't indulge himself he needed to be focused and sharp, to see through whatever this silver tongued woman might say. As she bit her lip for a moment it broke his concentration. He had never been this close to a fallen and not in battle, he had read and heard the higher ranking ones were sentient but he hadn't experienced it himself. Did she just confirm that theory? He shook his head slightly thrusting such thoughts from his mind to prevent himself from getting side tracked.

His lavender hues watched her, studied her, taking in every detail it seemed like each beat of his heart was a minute long he was so focused upon her. Then finally after what seemed like an eternity she spoke. She confessed that her true purpose was not to reveal the dungeon but to reveal what she was to him. She came willing for her life to end just to tell him what she was. She was his dearest student, the one he held with the highest of regard and now she had fallen from that peak she had become what Surtr carried with him. The purpose for his existence was to end what his people had started and now after 10000 years of silence one had been waiting in his home.

His hand moved from her waist and his other rose from the desk they slid up her arms slowly before coming to rest upon either cheek. "I...." He said as his eyes closed and he leaned forward his forehead coming to rest upon hers. "I'm....Sorry." He whispered in a haggard broken tone. After a moment of silenece Phavia would feel something drip on her thigh. A breath in and out calmed and centered the man before his hands slipped from her cheeks and his forehead left hers. His eyes would open and although guilt still remained the tears were gone. "Assuming we are still leaving in the morning you will stay here." Surtr said still being in very close proximity. "My bed is in the back. You will sleep there...." He said looking to her and preparing to step back. He couldn't let her out of his sight at least not tonight. He wouldn't sleep he would watch her to be sure she remained within his domain. While he wanted to believe her, he wanted to trust her. He could not give it to her so easily, she had to earn it. Though she had taken the first step by revealing herself to him.

After finishing his words he began to pull back to move away so that she could go to the back room and sleep. He knew she didn't need it, that she was no longer bound but such mortal restraints and yet he still offered it to her. Despite trying to see past Phavia and see only a fallen he couldn't. He couldn't discern it from her, and so she still received the courtesy he extended her in her previous life.

Betrayal. That was the first word that came to mind when Phavia told Surtr her reasoning for coming. Though his face seemed even, his eyes told a different story. They say the eyes were the windows to the soul and Surtr's own exposed the truth of how he felt. Her jaw tightened. This...wasn't her fault nor was it her intention. It just happened. Hell, Phavia spent the better half of her life studying the fallen and now she had become the object of her studies. Not only that, the highest order; The First.

"Kill him."

A voice rang out in Phavia's mind while awaiting Surtr's response. She visibly shook her head at the masculine voice that plagued her mind with thoughts of killing the one that she admired the most. He moved his hand from her waist, tracing it's way up her arm before finally reaching her face. He cupped it with both hands as he looked at her with a rather guilty expression, one that confused the Fallen woman. Surtr apologized and Phavia's jaw slacked, lips parting slightly in surprise at his supposed penance. His face was drawn and voice cracked. Surtr placed his forehead against hers which garnered no protest from Phavia. There was a moment of silence between the two as if the whole world had stopped revolving in that instance. Tears fell from his eyes, splashing onto her thighs. It was just a few drops but those tears held a world of feelings and emotions, ones that Phavia could no longer comprehend. So she just sat there. Finally, Surtr broke from Phavia with a breath. His hands slipped from her cheeks.

"Assuming we are still leaving in the morning you will stay here. My bed is in the back. You will sleep there...."

Surtr took a step away from Phavia, but continued to eye her. He obviously didn't trust her but that was only normal. She was his mortal enemy and unknowingly the enemy of the world. Phavia nodded as she slide from the desk, her stocking covered feet tapped the floor. The First looked to Surtr but initially did not say anything as she moved past him and to the door in the back of the observatory; not before brushing her hand against his own. "At first light." Phavia replied. "My offer still stands but until then, sweet dreams Surtr." The Fallen woman opened the door and closed it behind her. A small sigh of relief came from her mouth as she approached his bed and carefully pulled back the blanket. Phavia no longer needed sleep, however, she lied on her back and closed her eyes to think about her current situation, though it was impossible with the myriad of voices in her head along with hers but the one from earlier spoke out once more.

"You will kill that Faye."
