~Zephyr Coast Nir Border~ On the very southernmost edge of the Kingdom of Sylvenor in the Nir Distrct lies the direct border coast. Named after a rare sighting of a mythical beast during the lunar eclipse; This serves as a recreational area for elves of all kind to gather and enjoy nature at its finest. The flow of mana is abundant and creates the essence of pixie like glitter in the sand. The water reflects the color of teal with transparency of almost half the bottom leading off the distance. The vegetation and air are very subtle, fresh, always lukewarm to the breeze.

It used to feel like a fairy tale Now it seems we were just pretending We'd fix our world Then on our way to a happy ending
Stepping out of the tree, just about the same time the sun broke the horizon. The young half-ling made her way towards the water. The wind blew lightly as must of would be cut off by the mountains. Approaching the and letting her bow rest on her shoulder, she began to kneel down before placing her hand in the water. It was really cold, and she didn't spot any fish around. Maybe further down, they may reside. She took both hands, cupping them together as she dipped them in the water, filling her hands. Salt water... Which the smell of the ocean was in the air. The water must have cut through the land here for thousands of years. Maybe in another hundred thousand years, this whole area would dry up as the land raises. She sighed and flicked the water off her hands before standing up.
"Where ware they...?" she asked herself quietly as she walked along the edge of the water, staring into for any signs of life. She had left really early, hours before the sun dawned, and she didn't really eat before leaving. The energy she burned to get here was now asking here for a return. And like magic, the fish she searched for were there, in the water and there was quite a small school of them. With a smirk, she pulled out an arrow from her quiver, and began tying a rope to it, her eyes fixated on the fish. Once the arrow was prepared, she took her bow off her shoulder and placed the butt of the arrow on the drawstring. Aligning the arrow to the bow as she aimed toward the fish, pulling the drawstring back and using her finger to aim the arrowhead. The Girl exhaled, focusing on the fish in her surroundings. Even hearing her own heart beat as she locked on to a fish she wanted, the biggest one in the school of 'em.
But, when she was getting ready to release the arrow, the sound of a fallen twig inside the treeline startled her before making a complete 180, releasing the arrow into the forest, where the twig snapped.
Then it turned out life was far less like a bedtime story Than a tragedy with no big reveal of the hero's glory

¤ Surtr ¤ Location : Zephyr Coast Company : Unknown Elf Feelings : Wounded... ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
The arrow cut through the trees before a thud. A resulting cry in pain followed. Masculine in nature but still a cry nonetheless. Out of the woods stepped a tall blond man with her arrow resting in his chest. The man was dressed in quite the regal attire for such a non formal setting. He seemed oddly alive despite the arrow resting in a lethal place. "You should really ask if someone is there before just firing." The man said before reaching up and pulling the arrow from his chest. He sighed he looked down and saw blood on his shirt. "What a shame, my favorite shirt." He said dropping the arrow into the sand as he walked to the waters edge before washing the blood from his hands. The man had a ball of fire on his head resting there and it had eyes! Those eyes would watch the elf while Surtr went about his business as if to ensure the elf didn't try to shoot him again.
"Well, I'm Surtr.... And you are obviously an archer. Judging by the kingdom and your slender physique I'd say an elf?" He inquired while rising and looking to her now. At the top corner of each of his collar was a gold sun. If this elf was familiar with the knew king she would have known that he was called the Sun King though to connect dots so early would have been a bit of an astonishment. "So why are you here?" He said looking to her now studying her and making no effort to hide his gaze as he did. The water that remained on his hands would steam evaporating away in a matter of moments. This coupled with the ball of fire on his head would tip the elf off that he was fire user.

Having released the arrow and then hear a cry of pain, she felt her heart sank deeply. "Oh no..." she said in a shocked yet in slight disbelief she just shot someone and not some animal. Seeing a man step out from the wood, her eyes locked onto the arrow in his chest which led her to raise her hand to her mouth gradually. Having trained so much to shoot but not so much on the restraint part. Did she just kill him? It was only second as her eyes immediately started studying him; his blonde hair, attire, his hand on the arrow before ripping it- "Wait! Don't rip...." The deed already done before she could start the sentence. Did she really just kill him? And his clothes were quite... Regal and Karst-ish. Actually this man looked exactly like the King of Karst. There's no way she just killed him and ended the alliance and start a potential war. The thought made her lightheaded that she almost toned out the man's voice. "I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!" she panicked as she dropped her bow on the ground fast and made her way over to him. Which slowed her pace when he started to wash his hands in the water. Other than the obvious blood wound, he acted like he was fine. Even so, she was still tense. Another glance at his body and the fireball that stared back at her. He can't be Surtr, not him. She couldn't have shot him. He can't have been here, of all places. Alone? None of this made since and his outfit was not for traveling far either.
Finally he indeed confirmed he was the King of Karst, Surtr. She was going to die today, wasn't she. "Y-yes... I'm from Sylvenor as well as an elf, yes. And a mage. Well, I'm half of both..." her eyes went to the floor as she couldn't look him in the eye. She just shot him! "I'm gathering materials. Minerals, wood, animals pelts." she paused for a moment before look at the water, still seeing the fish swimming about. "Food..." she added on.
"My name is Lunari Jinsoyun. I'm a merchant... Or... well yeah, a merchant." she told him before returning her eyes to land then to his feet. "I understand what I did was wrong and you have every reason to have my had. Please, this was not planned. I had no idea anyone was out here... very much less a king." she said, still tense, stiff as a statue. Luna wanted to ask why he was even out here but she knew her place. Probably six feet under ground now.

As she rushed to his side and began to insist her not pull the arrow out he chuckled softly. "Oh it's fine, no harm no foul." He said with soft smile while batting his hand as if to brush off her shooting. "See?"/ He inquired while unbuttoning his shirt, as he opened it she would see the wound had since disappeared and the blood dried already before seeming to burn up and disappear. Surtr was in fact littered with scars it looked like he had undergone a bear attack actually. Animalistic scratches and bite marks, though depending on how good the elf was at gauging wounds she'd see these were inflicted by a human. An elf actually, though that was a tale for another day. "Sylvenor you say? Oh a hybrid. Any apt for magic? I imagine if so that bow of yours could do wonders." Surtr said nonchalantly while re buttoning his shirt. The cloth was soft and breathable perfect for traveling. Surtr was required to wear it so that all who saw would know him, he hated it personally but this was the only rule he had to follow in order to be able to travel freely.
"Well would you like any help? I'm just here studying the area so going after local fauna and flora aligns with mine. You can keep whatever we collect I don't need money." He said with a soft chuckle. He was more interesting in learning than making a profit and a local would be ideal for aiding in this. As she seemed intent on avoiding his gaze Surtr would walk up and turn his head while bending over so that she was forced to look at him. The angle was a bit awkward so he was closer than intended now within a few inches of her. "No one will be taking your head today Lunari.... Especially it belongs to such a beautiful woman." He said with a playful wink before returning to his natural position. He would wait for her to answer. Perhaps she wouldn't want to help him since she just shot him. Though if she declined he'd just be back where he started aimlessly wandering about looking for something of interest.

It used to feel like a fairy tale Now it seems we were just pretending We'd fix our world Then on our way to a happy ending
No harm no foul? Not to long ago he screamed out in pain. Still when Surtr shown her his body, she peeked at where she shot him but was quickly distracted by the other scars on his body. He has seen and been through a lot of battles that Lunari couldn't even imagine. Of course he has live almost a hundred of her own life times. She was because just a blink to him in comparison. In some eyes, she was still a baby. Saint Takari is considered young, yet its so hard to even put age to an account since mostly everyone she knew was way older than her. Except the one in school she grew up with but, again people she liked to hang out with were older. Lunari's eyes dimmed in looked towards the floor. Surtr had a type of healing factor, thank the heavens. Though still felt bad for shooting him.
He seemed slightly intrigued she was a hybrid. One would think magic would have been her main skill. She did pick it up really face compared to the others her age, but she also picked up archery fast too. She was a quick learner and very determined on learning more. "Well, I am but not in a way you would think. I can't make..." she eyed the fireball before looking to the floor again, not wanting to brag in front of the king who has way my experience than she did by far. "I focus more on enchanting when it comes to magic. I'm still learning though, so it's nothing special." Luna explained to him.
When he had asked to help her collected materials, she was quite surprised.when he asked if she needed help. Shouldn't it be the other way around? But she wasn't going to tell him no since he would also benefit from it with his research. "I can also help you if you need to locate a pacifi-... pacific..." She brought her hand to her head, wondering why she had a hard time with the word. "Specific flower... or animal." she managed to get out and sighed loudly, only to quickly realize who she was talking to and swiftly covered her mouth. "Excuse me your grace..." she looked to the floor again. The guilt was heavy on her but when he got his face in her field of view, she blinked a few times before smiling, slightly embarrassed that he noticed her avoiding his gaze. He assured her that he wasn't going to take action against shooting him and commented that she was beautiful. "Thank you, your grace." she said to him and slightly bow her head to him, trying to remain respectful. Which she realize she never really treated the Grand Sage so formal and more like a father figure.
"But yes, I would like to accompany you. Or you to accompany me." she really didn't know how to talk to him. He was so friendly and not what she was expecting for a king. Luna smiled before pulling the rope, winding the arrow on the ground back to her. She frowned when she looked at the arrow. This wasn't even going to leave her head anytime soon. "The Grand Sage would probably want me to escort you around for day after what I had down. I'll ask next time I blindly shoot." she told him and smiled weakly before looking back at the water. "I was fishing. With my bow and not a line, I know. I always seen it as a way to get better at my aim. And... I'm too impatient to fish normally. " she explained as she placed the butt of the arrow on the draw string. "Did you want a fish? Are you hungry at all?" she asked as she aimed at the school of fishes.

"Oh come now enchanting things is still a gift." He said with a soft smile before waving his hand at her as if shooing something away. "Please, enough with the pleasantries. Treat me like any other man you've shot." He uttered playfully teasing her as he stepped forward looking to her. She seemed nervous, an unnecessary thing. Very unnecessary considering who she was dealing with. "I am interested in all the world has to offer, so I will accompany you around and I'll simply look at things that interest me as they appear. In addition I could help you catch fish or hunt animals. I just need to know what you are looking for and I can be of assistance." Surtr said with a soft smile. "Well for now don't worry about what the Grand Sage would want. I'll be sure to tell him a wonderful elf Lunari was kind and showed me around. Please just treat me like a normal person." He insisted his tone still soft but it being obvious he was requesting something.
The man had been waited on hand and foot since becoming king. He hated it, absolutely despised it in fact. Doing everything he could to escape the cohort or servants he would travel alone so that he could get some peace and quiet. It seemed he had finally met someone of interest and he hoped she would be able to give him what he wished it would be refreshing to just get to be himself and allow his title to slip away for once. As she asked if he wanted a fish his tummy seemed to grumble loud enough for both to hear. Surtr would smirk before rubbing the back of his head. "I suppose that is a yes.... If you catch it I will cook it?" He offered with an excited smile. He reached into the folds of his robes and pulled out a myriad of spices. It seems he just carried them on him? In truth Surtr loved to cook and he always traveled with certain flavor profiles so he could try new foods whenever he got the chance. It seemed Lunari was speaking his language now. She'd catch the fish and he'd get to cook a beautiful woman a delicious meal? Seemed like getting shot was the best ice breaker this king had used in a while.

Luna released the arrow from the bow, letting slice through the air before spearing the water. She took a breath before reeling the rope in, keeping an ear to Surtr as he spoke. He wanted to be treated normally, like an everyday person on the streets. She smiled as she felt the opposite, ever since she was a little girl. There were many reasons the girl snuck into the palace. Though Takari did show her over the years how taxing and boring it could be and thus her need to travel alone, Surtr really wasn't all that different in that regard. Still found it funny how the opposite side of the spectrum wanting the life of the other. Lunari did like her freedom though of time though.
"Are you sure?" she asked. If she was free to be herself, then she wouldn't hold back. "Okay." she said simply, pulling her catch out of the water. The arrow pierce the body of the first fish and through the head of the other. Pull her catch up to her, she examined them before smiling. "I'm still going to tell him that I shot you. To shoot first and ask questions later can be really bad. And you are actually the first person I shot. I have you know. I am kind of a... 'Hot head'" she snickered. When he offered to cook it, she was going to turn him down but the little fireball made her remember that he was a fire mage. Cooking is probably a daily thing for him, and the excited look on his face... And the spices he had with him... "Hokay." she said before tossing the arrow equipped with fish to him.
"We'd be collecting the wood from the tree line, Lavaralda and Nessamelda. Wolf or deer pelts, well any pelt if we come across them. Ovlar; plants, we will be looking for are Alfirin, a white flower, and Athelas with is a herb we use for most medicine, kinda looks like a flower with a crown but made of leaves. And maybe iron ore. I'll handle that... " she told him and smiled. "That's pretty much it." she said before untying the rope from the arrow in Surtr's hands.

She inquired if he was sure and then mentioned her being a hothead and Surtr only chuckled at this. "I am positive and good, your hot headed nature should keep things interesting." Surtr teased playfully enjoying that little snicker of hers. It seemed she was a firecracker, this was good news he wanted to see that spark of hers in action. "So I assume we are eating before we begin your hunt for things." Surtr said with a playful smiled as he looked to the sand. A few logs and a bunch of logs suddenly came together as if of their own free will. In reality Surtr was using his telekinesis but that didn't matter much. He sat down on one of the logs and pull out a very sharp thing knife making quite work of the filleting process.
He found two sharp sticks, pierced the fish and then seasoned then. He winked at the logs and watched as they ignited in flames. The fish would begin to cook and Surtr would tilt his head to the log next to him offering for her to sit. "Please join me. I'll help you find those items after we finish. Would you prefer me not use magic? Because I can certainly do that." He said looking up to her wondering if she would accept his offer. As he waited the fish would begin to smell heavenly their aroma filling the area and brought a smile to Surtrs lips. The prospect of the meal exciting the man.

She was definitely interesting, she had to admit, but so was he. What was he doing out here. You would think he wouldn't have too much free time, yet here he was. "Yes, it's best to eat first before working. Energy, plus I haven't ate before leaving because i figured i could while hunting.." she explained. Luna was a bit caught off guard when logs started to come together without anything moving them. She took a step back before slowly turned her attention to Surtr, who did have magical capabilities. It was him who was manipulating the logs.
She was very observant, and how accurate he was with his power and it would sure help her out if she had it too. She smiled before looking at Surtr when he asked if she prefered him not use it. "No no, it's fine. It's a lot quicker this way. Quick is good. Better." she told him before walking over to the log he laid down for her to sit. Once Lunari sat down she looked down at the fire as he worked his cooking magic. "I sound probably learn how to cook too. I mean I know how, just not with spices and.... you know delicate stuff."
After a while, she had to ask, "Hey, Surtr... Are you really just looking out at the terrain? isn't there a lot of tension... with Karst and other kingdoms? Is it safe for you to be out here?" she asked. Her eyes looked at the sky. "Aren't you worried? I mean I don't need to tell you how to run a kingdom because I have no idea the stress you must go through but, worried for your kingdom? if you mind me asking that is..." she mentioned before being her eyes back to the fish. "All I hear are rumors. I never looked at what's actually going on."

She agreed to eat first and that was good as once he started it would be ill advised to stop and come back to it. As she mentioned quick being better Surtr chuckled softly as he glanced to her. "Quick is not always better. Sometimes taking your time is far more rewarding." He said with a rather playful gaze. She could interpret those words how she wished Surtr was always like this so better she get accustom to it. "I could teach you to cook if you like. You'll just have to come to Karst or I could meet you out here. It really isn't hard you just have to identify flavor profiles and ensure balance." He said realizing the base concept of cooking was reinforced by many other tasks.
He huffed softly to blow a few strands of sandy blond hair from his view allowing his fiery eyes to be better seen. She then began a string of questioning, Surtr allowed her to run through all her words before responding. Finding it better to address everything in once as opposed to interjecting. The question was sound and he wasn't insult. He watched as the fish began to hiss and the skin started to crisp meaning they were almost finish. "Correct, I am here to learn of this land. I have read books but almost all writers as not as thorough as my eyes, so it's better to come first hand." He said turning to her with a soft smile on his face. "As for tension our kingdoms are actually in an alliance. I intend to see the grand sage at the end of my journey and ensure it remains that way." He said with his smile growing as if pleased to meet the man.
"It is certainly safe.... I have my little guardian right here." He said glancing up to the ball of fire atop his head and smirking as it turned pink. "In addition there is a crack shot archer with me who shoots first and asks questions later. So I doubt any harm will come to me now." He said casting Luna a playful wink as he removed the first from the fire. He handed Luna hers before nodding. "In order to best serve my kingdom I must understand the other kingdoms. Each land has its own agenda, its own needs, and its own ambitions. By learning of the lands that the kingdom resides over and its people I can better understand each kingdom and in turn ensure that each kingdom and my own maintain a symbiotic relationship." Surtr said with a bright smile as if his plan was fool proof. It sounds phenomenal on paper he couldn't deny that but the execution of such a thing would be no trivial task.
He would wait for her to take the first bite but the aromas were quite haunting and even the little ball of fire seemed to be on the edge of its seat in anticipation. "Worrying never solved a problem, so I have little need of it. I am concerned with understanding. If I can know each kingdom I will know how to serve all the kingdoms including my own." Surtr said looking to her intently. He had relayed some very philosophical ideals and wondered how she would handle them. His logic was sound but that didn't always mean his company would accept it.
She was a rather beautiful elf he had to admit, if she wasn't such a youngling he would perhaps begin trying to court her. Though he could see how young she was in the way she moved and hear it when she spoke. It was cute to be sure, though there was no way he would attempt to take such a young creature regardless of how enticing it may be.

She wondered if he was hinting that quicker wasn't always better because she shot him. She grinned and shook her head slightly before continuing to listen. She was happy that he said he would teach her how to cook, and even invite her to Karst. She hasn't even left Sylvenor but seeing another kingdom would be exciting. "I never been to Karst or anywhere outside of Sylvenor. I would like to one day." she told him quickly before watching the fish. They really smelt good, the spices he used filling her nose.
Lunari knew that Karst was their ally but, Durandal? Nightvale? Though he did answer her curiosity if he was planning on seeing Vergaelus since he was here. He really had a gentle smile which she just couldn't get over how kind he was. Since his was studying this land in person, was he gonna study the other kingdoms at this time? But she didn't question it, "I'm sure the Grand Sage has no plans of breaking this alliance." she told him before looking at the finish since it was almost finished.
She couldn't help but laugh when he said that he had a crack shot archer to protect him. "Ha, ha. You're funny. This king likes to 'roast' people." she said before watching him take the fish from the flames and handed it to her, which she took with excitement. "Thank you." she said, looking at the fish but listen to him as she blew on it to cool it off slightly. "So, you are going to all of the kingdoms?" she asked and bit her lip, eyeing him. "Sorry, i just have a fear of dragons. When i was a little girl, I heard stories how big they can get, and swallow people whole. Turns out, they really do get really big, so I don't plan on visiting Durandal anytime soon." she laughed nervously before blowing on her fish again.
Once the fish was cool enough to not burn her tongue, she bit into its side and looked at Surtr. "It's... amazing. What spices did you use?" she asked before continuing to eat. She then heard that he cared about learning than just worrying around. Worrying doesn't solve anything. She frowned because she did worry a lot. It was hard not to worry. "That's the ideal thought process. If the world thought like that then there wouldn't be a problem. I see why we have our alliance as we want the same thing.." she told him. Yes she was young and inexperience but she knew what she would want to keep the peace. She started nibbling on her fish.

"Then you must come to Karst, I can show you the college, the grand library. We could see the dreary royal palace if you like but I try to avoid it at all costs." Surtr said with a smirk, he hated that place. He was always avoiding it not wanting to get caught by one of the guards and forced to sit on the throne listening to petty squabbles. Out here was where he belonged, out here was where he could do some good. As she spoke of her leader not wanting to break their pact Surtr nodded happily. "Wonderful to hear, I believe I've only met the man in passing. Though from what I've heard he is quite impressive." Surtr said before taking a bite of his fish. The flesh from the animal seemed to warm him and a "mmmmm" escaped his lips as he swallowed the first bite. It was truly delicious.
She mention he liked to roast people and Surtr chuckled at her remark. "I enjoy a good playful rapport. Don't mind being roasted myself actually." He uttered with a rather delightful smile the fish and her company giving him energy and drawing out his exuberant side. "Yes, I have visited all of them before but this time I will come as King and make my way to the capital to see their leader." He said plainly as if the task wasn't so difficult. When she seemed a bit nervous her batted his hand at her as if to brush away such nonsense. "Please Luna feel free to ask whatever pops into your head." He said with a smile, as she retold the stories about dragons he laughed before taking another bite. "They certainly can. I have actually been swallowed whole by a dragon. Though I didn't remain there long. Dragons are very prideful creatures. It's the only place where you can call a woman old and huge and she will take it as a compliment." He said with a playful chuckle enjoy how incongruous that statement was.
She asked about the spices and he nodded softly. "Salt from the mountains of durendal, a bit of garlic from karst, some fire pepper from Nightvale and a touch of dried lemon from this kingdom." He said with a smile happy to share the recipe with her. Surtr nodded at her words. "Yes the elves have always been more pragmatic than some of the others kingdoms. I do believe its why our Alliance was forged and so easily kept. Though I will certainly come to introduce myself to the king and maintain that relationship." He said with a soft smile beginning to eat more of his fish. He would hate to have their relationship strain because he didn't pay attention to them. So Surtr would be sure to pay his due respects to the man and ensure they continue to have a tight knit alliance.

It used to feel like a fairy tale Now it seems we were just pretending We'd fix our world Then on our way to a happy ending
She bowed her head slightly, "Then Karst it is. But avoiding the palace? Someone doesn't like their position. Is the duties of the king really all that tiring. For being away for long periods of time, I sure a few things pile up as the await your return, right? We don't have to go if you wish but... I would like to visit it. Maybe you can.." she laughed and grinned at the thought. "Put on a disguise or something." she suggested to him, but was pretty sure people knew their king. When Surtr mentioned that the Grand Sage was amazing, she smiled lightly and relaxed her shoulders, "He's amazing. He is kind and always calm. I never seen him angry before in my entire life, disappointed or irritated, but never angry. Though he probably just never shows his anger when I'm around. When I was little, I would always try to sneak into the palace. Pass or fail, but after an forced audience with him, he allowed me to train under him. By no mean am I at his skill prowess but she said I was a fast learner." she smiled before frowning. "I know its bad, but I have always looked at him as a father figure to me. Not that my actually did me any wrong, rest in peace... But, the Grand Sage was like one to me... Maybe more..." she muttered that last part. "I'm just tired of being looked down upon by others just because I'm young. I'm not a child anymore. I may have not lived on this earth for that long but I'm still an adult." she told Surtr, stopping her rant short. "Sorry, I get heated on that subject of age and experience. Long childhood..." she explained before finishing of the body of the fish. She never really touched the head of it.
When he mentioned that he was going to visit each leader of each kingdom, she tilted her head. "Not alone like this, I hope?" she questioned before looking at the sky, the sun just peeking over the hill as the sky was almost taking on it's blue color. She set a goal to be done here by noon, giving her a lot of time to work with. She flinched a bit he he mentioned he was eaten by a dragon before, and seeing that he was still here, she wondered if that dragon was still alive. She smirked at the comment about the dragon women, but it confirmed the fact that she never wanted to go there. Lunari stretched her arms over her head before standing up from the log to stretch her legs. The fish was amazing and the spice he used was very unique. "It's like a unity of the kingdoms on a plate... The fish I mean. Though there was no plate... Just some good ol' fashion fish sticks."
"He has been focusing on our Saint, Takari for a while now. To get her prepared for the throne. She is like on older sister to me but in fact, she just a little younger than my mother. Still, i some times forget how old she is because Takari looks younger than me a bit. I am pretty tall..." she said to Sunrtr before scratching her cheek. "Kinda wish I was short but hey, genetics... Anyway, I'm ready when you are." she told him before running her fingers over her arrows in her quiver to seen how many she had.
Then it turned out life was far less like a bedtime story Than a tragedy with no big reveal of the hero's glory
