Sa'dia could tell her mother was nervous. Bobbidi was never nervous. This must be serious if her confident and carefree mother was worried about something. She listened carefully as Bobbidi spoke and then froze. A big sister? Did...Bobbidi not love her as much anymore? If she wanted more kids, was it because Sa'dia wasn't hers biologically? They were so alike that Sa'dia had stopped thinking of Bobbidi as just her adoptive mother. "I," she started and stopped. She felt tears welling up in her eyes.
Bobbidi waited patiently as Sa'dia seemed to process her question. She seemed okay until the tears started. "Oh no, no sweetie, please don't cry," she said and moved around the table to pull the little girl into her arms. "I should have done this differently. Please don't think that this means I love you any less! I will always love you with all of my heart, Sa'di, and growing our family will never change that. That's why I wanted to ask you first. If you're not ready to have someone else with us, then I won't imbue or adopt or anything, I promise."
Sa'dia sniffled and clung to the older Nightmare, but her words soon calmed the freshling down. "You mean it?" she sniffed, then smiled when Bobbidi nodded at her. "Then go ahead. I wanna be a big sister." Sa'dia smiled brightly at her mother and giggled softly as Bobbidi picked her up and swung her around happily.
