CW/TW: Suicide

Zanthvos stood on the beaches edge, staring out into the horizon, a cold wind blowing the hair from his face. Though he couldn't feel it in the same as if he was with Jason. Golems weren't exactly made to feel sensation. But the picture of the serene water and the gulls calling overhead was still nice, Though not enough to calm the turmoil that was happening in his own mind.

He had considered himself to be quite the intelligent demon, able to think himself out of many a situation. Using honey tipped words was his forte, and he wielded this skill to get what he needed. Most of the time to just mess with his hunter, because life was a game and he was all for making the best of it.

But now the game had stopped being fun. His hunter was hurt, but it was not the kind of injury he could heal. The mental damage that had been caused by the experience was something he couldn't just fix with a few nice words and a 'here's a shoulder to cry on hey lets go make out' schick. He knew Jason so well now, could read his thoughts and emotions, knew when to push and when to pull, when it was time to offer words of wisdom and advice. Jason was dear to him, so, so dear. He may lead him into strife but never would he seek to hurt the blonde.

In short, he was his everything, and this time he hadn't been able to help him. How could he when he was but a servant? The copy was not the real thing, but it had Jason's body. He couldn't lay a claw on him. Not that he could have anyway, the thought of bringing pain to those bright blue eyes was a painful thing in of-

Zanthvos buckled. Something pulled at his mind, a sensation, like a string had been pulled taunt. Pain. He felt pain. Though he wasn't in pain, he was.

Oh by Jacks mercy

He was running now, his wings opening and flapping uselessly as if he could take off and fly but of course not because Mark sucked and didn't make golems designed for flight.

He knew what happened, he could feel what had happened.

He sprinted into the lab building, hunters jumping out of the way as the 6'4 fallen angels wings flapped and knocked over items, something shattering but he wasn't looking at that, running past the golem facility, his expression grim and even frightened.

His hunter was dying.

She wasn't' upset so much as worried. Jason hadn't been himself as of late. Not just due to running into when Zanth had taken over but in general. He was- aggressive. A lot more than she liked. There was a few times it was nice to see him so firm but she missed Jason. The one who'd run fingers through her hair and hold her softly like she might break. The Jason who smiled and didn't care how messy she looked waking up or her weird french rumblings about nonsense.

Supportive, kind, wonderful and loving Jason.

Her work at the labs had ended early that day, and she planned to surprise him with dinner. Something simple and warm. Maybe find a nice card game to play.
When she mentioned it to an aid she was given an odd look. Apparently, Jason had come by earlier, shoved Zanth into a golem and darted off looking fairly ill. She'd frowned and dismissed it. He was just tense and stressed, probably wanting time apart from the sex crazed demon.

She had no way of knowing. No way of thinking it was even in the realm of possibilities.

Opening the door to see him slouched over. A dark red puddle under him, hands limply clutching a dagger.

For a moment Solia stood frozen in the doorway, staring at her boyfriend who lay in his own blood.

Later, someone would tell her she'd screamed. But she wouldn't remember that part. What she would remember was trying to wake him, and no matter what she did his eyes would not open. Israfel couldn't heal him. She didn't have bandages and why was the blood not stopping she was applying pressure but there was so much, too much-

Solia couldn't stop screaming his name.

The link grew weaker with each passing step he took. Jason was slipping away, and even if he prided himself on his ability to keep Jason's body pure and clean from messy scars he doubted he could heal the damage he could feel through the link. He needed assistance. He needed help.

Zanthvos had never thought to ask Jason for his phone, which would have made this quicker, costing him precious seconds but he had no other choice, his long legs making great strides, sweeping past startled hunters.

He was glad Jason had picked Moon. The other division leads probably wouldn't care or didn't have the expertise to save him, but in moon their lead was strict but always fair. She would help.

Down another hallway. Take a left here. He felt sick even if it wasn't possible for the golems to have such a feeling. He was not with Jason to have stopped this, and now there was nothing protecting him save his own human body. It wasn't enough he needed more, Jason for the love of whatever you hold dear just call me-.

A right, down the hall. This was it. He forced himself into Edith's room, hoping she would be there because there was no time left to find or call her-

"Edith!" He shouted, the normally calm fallen angel was tongue tied and in utter disarray. "Jason - please - help - he needs - dying - Dorm room 158 -"

He felt it. The moon was calling him. His core was pulled from the golem, and he flew with haste to where he was needed.

As usual, Edith wasn't in her office. Fortunately, another moon was, one that had the sense to contact the infirmary, as well as a friend in the dorms who could act as a first responder. This all takes several precious minutes, that Jason can afford thanks to the sudden presence of Zanth within him. There is so, so much to heal inside his hunter, but Jason's body will likely be the least of it. The stab wound looked much worse that it was, viscera exposed to all but not punctured, not poisoning the rest of his body.

The first responder reacted immediately with weapon drawn, a healing charge already descending upon Jason with a chilled, glowing breeze. Runic bandages immediately followed and then it was time to check the rest of him, time to make things as easy as possible for those on their way. It's only a few minutes, but they're a struggle for Zanth, and whatever peace Jason had found in darkness, it shattered as he woke, just briefly, to the scene of the medic, Solia, and his own bloody floor. And then he was gone again, just as Sunny and another medic entered.

The nurse ignored Solia, focusing on the situation and making a call. "********. We're gonna risk a pendant on this one, Cal. You hold his head, I'll hold his guts in."

And then they're gone, the first responder giving Solia an awkward look. These things happened, and you try to save the hunter even if they don't want it themselves. But that's the easy part.

Jason was pulled from his brief unconsciousness into a world of pain and noise. His eyes snapped open and took in a sea of red. He couldn't understand what was going on, there were people all around him. Someone was screaming. Why, was someone hurt?

His eyes looked around and it was clear he wasn't comprehending where he was, wide eyed at the medic and Solia. It didn't even look like he knew who Solia was and that it was her that was screaming. Then his eyes shut tight as the pain hit. Agony tore a pained groan from him that grew louder until he was screaming himself. He shifted his body as if this would help the pain go away but it only escalated till his eyes were streaming tears. Moving was difficult, no energy in him to run away from whatever hurt him. He could barely move his arms, a blessing for the medic as it was clear he was trying to push them away not realizing they were trying to help.

Zanth was there in his mind, his presence all around and strained. He couldn't focus on numbing the pain because numbness was a luxury he couldn't afford. He had to focus on the healing itself, the wound needed to close and muscles needed rebuilding but first he needed to rebuild blood but he was loosing too much too fast. The heart had to keep beating to push what little blood remained. At least there was no organ damage, that was always fun to heal, but organs liked to stay inside of ones body and the fact they were not where they were supposed to be was not a good sign

There was so much noise and pain, he could see blurry figures approaching but he couldn't stay awake any longer, his movements stilled and his head lulled again in Solia's arms.

Jason would wake and drift and fall back into a restless darkness again and again. There was something wrong and eventually he'd come conscious long enough to figure it out: Zanthvos had fallen silent. Later he'd find out the weapon wouldn't speak, the strain of healing taking too much of a toll on it's power and bond to reach out to Jason's mind.

There is a certain callousness in some of those who see to him at the infirmary, resentful, betrayed by one of their own. But there's more who are just worried and cautious, treating him like glass. Jason was the last person they'd have expected to do something like this, it was shocking and upended more than a few medics' sense of contentment, that beautiful ability to assume you know someone and that they were doing just fine.

It'd only be a week in the infirmary, but much longer until Jason could summon or even speak with his weapon again.

1 week infirmary
3 months w/o a weapon OR after 1 month he can do some dire quest thingy to force it through. Dice are 2d6 and he can just a runic for any spars and fights.
indefinitely: he won't be allowed to go off alone on leave or on missions, this can be dealt with by Proving Himself in some way that regains the trust of higher ups
