- - Their meeting had been brief, but to Kissy, it was terrifying.
Sadiki had made it very clear that he didn't believe he wasn't related to her, and that he would be watching her. That didn't make her feel very comfortable, well, anywhere. Even with her uncle Shion's assurance that Sadiki really meant no harm, Kissy had stayed home from school for several days. When it was no longer possible for her to do her work from home, lest she miss all the lectures and activities, Kissy went to school alone. Insisting that both her mother and father let her be, and not be found out, themselves. The school day had gone by without a hitch, and now, at lunchtime, the little hybrid found herself sitting at the base of a tree in the garden, curled up and crying. Her family, she believed, was now in danger because she was foolish enough to talk to a stranger.

Malik heard a sound as he went outside with his lunch bag, he frowned and turned towards the sound. He could hear very well so hearing the sound of someone crying was no problem, seeing who was crying was the hard part. He squinted and looked at the dark colored figure. Malik moved closer to the figure and asked. "Are you alright??" He wondered what the figure who looked to be about freshling height would be crying at lunch time. Was the lunch food that bad?? Malik wasn't sure since he brought his own lunch. "You can have some of my cookies if it will make you feel better."

- - Three eyes shot open quickly as someone spoke. She was sure that she'd not been followed, and hardly anyone came this way normally. This particular tree never grew fruit, so no one ever bothered it. that she knew of anyways.
Nevertheless, she looked up, wiping her face with her sweater sleeve. How could this kid know about what she was dealing with? It wasn't like the situation could be explained to anyone, and anyone who found out...Well, it'd be a hard time. But she had to say something, right?
So, forcing a smile, she stood up. Brushing her bum off, she blinked a few times when offered cookies. Cookies? For no reason?!
"Yeah...If you're okay with that...?"

Considering Malik couldn't see the tree well enough to see if it had fruit on it or not, that matter not a bit to him. Malik's world was mostly sounds and scents since he couldn't see very well. His world was made up mostly of blurry stuff. The figure who had been crying was a burry purple and black blob to Malik for the most part details didn't focus well with Malik's eyes. Malik nodded "Yes I just want you to stop crying, it's worth the price of a few cookies to me." Malik said softly. They hadn't answered his question which was kinda of strange but Malik didn't want to press them for answers they were unwilling to give.

- - That was awful nice of him. The last time Kissy had been asked to stop crying her older uncle Jiyun had threatened to lock her up in a gravesite if she didn't stop! No one believed her when she told on him for being mean, and only her auntie Sei had comforted her. She was too scared to tell her parents or her siblings, afraid they wouldn't believe her either. Taking the cookie gently, she nibbled on it, only once in a while hiccuping.
"...I'm Kissaki. B-but you can call me Kissy." she said between bites, giving him a small smile. "I'm...okay. It's...my family kind of...something happened and I got...yelled at..."

Malik frowned as he heard Kiss tell him she had been yelled at, he asked "Were you doing something not safe?? If I get hurt my parents panic and yell at me because they are worried about me, or if I don't clean my room after I've been told a bunch of times. Is that what you mean?" Malik didn't understand the idea of his own family being cruel or mean to him. Malik was used to fun and happiness and reasonable strict lines so he didn't go overboard in what he was doing. His family loved him that Malik knew, even when his three parents confused him.

- - "N-no...I keep my room perfectly clean! I'm not as clean as my sister...but I'm cleaner than the twins!" She insisted, waving her arms around frantically. She tried, she really did try to keep her room clean all the time....but no one in the family was really that strict about it.
She tried to think about how to best tell him what had happened. It was difficult, since she didn't know 'why' she couldn't talk to the man.
"I...I told someone who I was, and I wasn't supposed. Because..." her ears twitched. She didn't want to call him a 'bad man'...because what if he wasn't? "...Because...I don't know why I wasn't supposed to. A-and I did! But I didn't think before I did, so now he knows who I am...I think."

Sign frowned "A bad guy knows who you are??" Malik asked. "Maybe we should go tell you, parents or Miss Ava, I bet the caretakers could help too, I heard the school is making some changing after that scary time." Malik didn't remember much from that time. The seniors had kept the freshlings well out of harms way but it had still be scary the seniors, teachers, and caretakers shuffling the freshlings around to keep them from getting hurt. Malik didn't know this freshling well but he didn't want them to be afraid. "Come on let's go tell an adult so you're safe." Malik said firmly hiding this didn't sound like a good idea to him.

- - While that was a good idea, Kissy really didn't know if that was a good idea.
"I...I don't think he's bad. He didn't seem bad! Mommy and unca' just said he was bad...He was kind of scary, but we might look scary to others..." Her three eyes closed as she sighed. "I'm only afraid that he might be really nice, and that I hurt his feelings by running away when he told me his name...."
Finishing the cookie, she stood up and offered him her hand. "If you want, you can come with me? I'mma go and get some more lunch...and I think I owe you a cookie, and you owe me your name!" Her tails wagged happily. "I mean...if you wanna be friends, that is."

Malik listened he wasn't so sure that Kiss was safe since they seemed so afraid, but they said they were ok so Malik didn't want to push or tell them they were wrong and they should go tell an adult again. "Ok lunch would be good I was meaning to eat mine anyway." Malik said gesturing to his lunch bag with his free hand. His other hand he offered to Kiss and said. "I'm Malik nice to meet you." Malik said softly at Kiss who was still a blurry blob to Malik but that was ok, their voice was nice to listen to.

- - "We can have lunch together!" She exclaimed excitedly, taking his hand. "And if they're there...would you wanna meet the twins? I think they'd be happy to meet you, too." As excited as she was, she was able to pick up on Malik's vision...or slight lack thereof. So instead of just running off with him, she gently tugged him in the direction of the lunchroom, waiting for him to continue on with her.
"You know..." Kissy paused, unsure if she should even bring it up. But the twins always spoke their minds, why shouldn't she? "...you would look very cute with glasses." she remarked with a little grin.
