Gen had been the one to ask her.

Everyone else had accepted her choice, even when she was little.
'I want to be a dancer' was her reply, every time, to 'what do you want to be?'. It had never been questioned, only accepted. There was no teacher that made her explain her decision, they all seemed to be supportive and willing to let the question be answered as-was.

Coming back home with her grades, fair but not exceptional, Gen had asked her a question that no one had ever asked her before.

'Are you sure?'

After Gen had left for xir night shift at the coffee shop, Seoul was left with her thoughts.

Self-doubt had never been her thing. She was always confident to the point of cockiness, and loved to make sure everyone else knew it. It seemed that she'd been gravitating towards those who didn't call any of that into question, even if some were kinda jerks about it.

But now...she had to think about it. And even as she went to bed, she was still thinking. She loved to dance. She loved learning new moves, new ways to dance to a song, new songs to dance to. Her legs were strong and her other muscles were getting to be so much better, too. She loved it when people watched, and even if no one wanted to dance WITH her, it was still nice to dance alone.

But...was that what she wanted to be the rest of her life?

Never before had she doubted her passion, but the next morning, Gen has xir answer.

"I don't know."
