Criel City News

Feb 7th
A incident at the park have left several shaken –a man and his apparent daughter were attacked, and while details are currently unclear investigations are underway looking into the nature of this event, the identity of those who fled the scene, as well as the possibility of it being a act of meta extremist terrorism.

Feb 8th
Meta terrorists have taken over parts of the inner city of Criel. In a statement made from someone identified as “Mise Fortuna” claiming to be leading the extremist group “The Meta Mafia” he claimed responsibility for the attack at the park yesterday, and that this is in a continuing effort to undermine Criel authority. The Police Chief has assured us this dangerous criminal would be brought swiftly to justice and they would fight valiantly to protect the safety and rights of all Criel citizens. No civilian casualties have been reported as of yet, however several have reported injured after venturing into the meta-infested territory. For your own safety we advocate staying out of these areas while police bring a swift end to this activity.

Feb 9th
The Meta Extremist “The Meta Mafias” occupation within the inner city of Criel continues as local forces were unable to enlist support from a national level – whom we can only suspect the leaders of which have become sympathetic to the Meta Menace.

However, after being armed with the latest cutting edge technology the authorities have been able to fight the terrorist organization on their own terms. This technology allows them to simulate the same sort of unnatural powers that Metas manifest – to fight fire with fire, as it were.

Some of the more Meta Sympathetic have suggested that after this insurrection, that the police might hold onto this power to abuse humans – however this notion is absurd and the police chief was quick to assure us that there was no reason to worry about such a possibility – as it would only be used on Metas and perhaps suspected Meta Sympathetics caught aiding violent Meta Extremists.

Feb 10th
It is a bleak day as a unknown third force has entered the city, turning what was a managed if unruly situation into a active warzone. Details are lacking, as the situation is still developing and new information is constantly coming in - however it is suspected that the third group are the ancient true races, and they seem to have sided with the Meta Extremists as they are attacking our local police forces. If this is true then we have to be worried for our own safety – Efforts to evacuate the area are now in progress. We however will remain active, reporting on the ongoing situation until either the situation is resolved or until the once great city of Criel falls.

Feb 11:
The third force has been identified to be a combination of True Races from no identifiable city. Using the chaos caused by the meta Mafia they invaded deeper within the city and are now starting to fight not only Criel defense forces but the metas as well.

Feb 17th:
Criel army has mounted a two front attack on both true race and metas to push them out of the inner city. Evacuations are proceeding as planned, those outside of human controlled areas are advise to stick together and find shelter.

Feb 24:
A week after the start of the attack no new sightings or speeches from the leader of the Meta Mafia, Mise Fortuna. Rumors are circulating that he was seen falling under the last attack by Criel's forces but with the battle so fierce there has been no way to confirm. Reports are coming in every moment, we will continue to keep you informed on any changes.

Feb 28:
Evacuations have now been placed on the entire metropolitan area of Criel. Evacuation orders are a followed. *picture* Depending on color and region head to nearest station located here *dots on picture*. Avoid these regions due to the increased violence in the area *picture now has circles*

March 4:
Criel forces have been pushing back the meta threat for the past week. Ground along the district of Hercu and Glasi have been regain but fighting is still fierce at Iluni, Clas, and Mani. Non-Human races have taken control of the south eastern part of the city while the mafia continues to hold a continuously shrinking territory in downtown Criel.

March 9:
Two attacks on a gasoline stations within human control areas and ensuing fire delayed forces for 2 hours. Similar attacks have been reported in Non-Human controlled areas as well hinting at an attack by the meta Mafia.

Breaking News:
The Blaise Eternal, member of the Murder Squad has been seen terrorizing downtown Criel. Updates as we get them.

Report 2:
"Still following Breaking News of oldest daughter of Dr. Elaena Eternal; Blaise. She arrived on scene in Criel at 2pm and has been terrorizing civilians of all races and ages. It is still unconfirmed if she is in alliance with the Meta Mafia, as members of the mafia have made appearances saving children caught in the crossfire. She has since been focusing on government buildings and deviated from heavily-populated civilian area. There are floods of injury and death reports around the city, 72 death and 59 heavily injured on what is being called a homicidal crusade spurred from political unrest and the opportunity to stir public views over the impending second war. Report 3:
Breaking news, a contender has appeared on the streets of Criel to fight Blaise. The current status is unknown as both Metas fought through the streets and ended with an explosion that leveled an entire block. More deaths and injuries are still being reported.

March 16:
“The Haven branch (name…) who has been helping Criel forces against the meta and true race threat has been completely destroyed in yesterday’s blast. True races are currently facing off against Criel forces as they desperately try to get to the lower levels.”

“The perpetrator of yesterday’s event , Blaise Eternal, has yet to be found alive or dead. However, we finally have a name for the masked meta that fought her yesterday. Andy Eternal, second in command of the Renegades under Renegade leader Zaku Shiroi. She is a full time member of the Efficacious Eight who has terrorized the Criel leadership multiple times and Blaise Eternal’s sister. Footage of an attack days before was intercepted from Morrad’s news channels showing her without the mask moments before killing one of Morrad’s prominent heirs and close ally to Criel, Delcard . Her current status is also unknown but both are believed to be dead from the blast that destroyed Haven and every other building on that block”

March 17:
"Reports are flooding in that Norcrest has organized their military and are already en route to aid Criel in what is being called the Second Great War. Reaching out to Norcrest government for comment was responded with a statement that they will protect their fellow humans in Criel as they can no longer stand by and watch True Races and Metas simply gang up on a vulnerable city. It's appalling non-human could act in this fashion and Norcrest will deal with any traitors to the capital to the highest degree. More on this as reports continue to come in."

March 18:
The true races continue to violate the treaty and attacked the remains of one of our closest allies. The fighting has been so fierce that any attempt to gain entrance below ground to aid those who survived were meet with increased violence. Prior to the arrival of Norcrest forces, True Races broke down to the lower levels sometime during the night. We now fear there are no survivors, those innocents whose only fault was to work to help the humans fight the metas threat. These true race rebels..or soldiers will now be meet with the real strength of the human forces.

True Race News

Feb 10:
Ancients from our races have taken to the streets of Criel to fight to the abuses done to all our people. The humans in Criel have broken the pact and unburied our dead to use their relics against the meta problem that has recently plagued them. Many who have lived through the great war and buried love ones only to have the humans back out on their words have taken arms and are now invading Criel taking it both out on human and meta-kind alike.

Feb 28:
Groups are currently in the south east of the city and holding. No response from Criel’s government over the the use of Relics and the breakage of the treaty. True-race cities are starting to consider this might not be an isolated incident.

March 9th:
Metas have been infiltrating ranks and passing as true races to cause havoc.Methods are being developed to root out current and future infiltrators. However, metas managed to set one building on fire and explode a supply van before they were brought down.

March 13:
No new changes on the warfront, but in more domestic news the heir Delcard Reynard of Morrad, was killed by an unknown masked meta. Ties to the Mafia are currently suspected.

March 15:

Report 1:
Blaise of the Murder Squad was seen causing havoc in the governmental area of Criel, currently under control of Criel’s forces. A masked meta has appeared to fight her and seem to be holding her own.

Report 2:
Breaking News:
A large explosion has rocked the area, blasting back buildings around the Haven center. Reports are still coming in.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown, though many experts believe that we witness the true threat of the meta force while others believe that Haven was responsible.

Currently our forces have moved in to claim what is left in the lower levels of Haven, but have meet with resistance from Criel military. Currently, the battle has been raging for the past 5 hours without any clear winner.

March 16:
Through Morrad sources, the masked meta was revealed to be Andy Eternal, second in command of the renegades and sister to Blaise Eternal. Current whereabout remains unknown. Experts are currently trying to decipher the reason for the fight and if it is a larger plot to destroy the human governmental infrastructure that soured.

March 17:
Reports are coming in that Norcrest have forces en route to bolster Criel’s human military after yesterday’s explosion. Norcrest Counsel in a bloodthirsty move is currently calling the battle for Criel the Second Great War and refusing to acknowledge the use of relics by Criel’s government, a blatant breach of the (name)Treaty . Experts on respective human governments are trying to weigh in on the current rumor circulating that humans manufactured the current battle against the metas to have a reason to move into a Second Great War.

March 18:
True Race fighters have managed to repel Criel forces long enough to gain entry to the lower levels of the Haven facility prior to the arrival of Norcrest. This Haven facility has been helping and supplying Criel forces with our people’s Relics since the start. More updates as they come in.

"Zaku Shiroi the former meta leader of the Renegades has been executed by Norcrest Government minutes ago. Video has been released for a confirmation to the masses that none of the human governments are taking the meta threat laying down. The following video is graphic":

The video showed Zaku tied up and drugged with a faint smile on his lips as he was shot multiple times.

"We have report that this was all done in the temporary Norcrest base in Criel. His remains will be transferred and studied in an attempt to duplicate his powers and quell the current Mafia threat. They are warning that his bounty will not be lowered as a safety measure. Details on capture are currently pending "

Following the news of Zaku's death, only two days later, news stations all over Treterra are taken over by an unknown hijacker. The image shows a backlit figure, a woman as she speaks in a young voice. She cannot he identified by sight or sound. She speaks to the people.

"We are the renegades. As a whole, as one voice and one cause. We reach out to the people of Treterra. We ask you listen, and understand. These are trying times, and our hearts ache with the people affected by the destruction within Criel. We are floored by the actions being displayed. It is why we, as the renegades, must stand up and say Enough! While we confirm the dissolved status of the infamous Efficacious Eight. We have decided to reform a new group to a new cause. A specialized group of people, The Council of Order.

We will be opening refuge homes for those affected by the current situations in Criel. There will be scheduled protected transports out of the city to safer locations. If you have loved one or children that are missing, please inform us and we will do everything in our power to find them. What is happening is a travesty and cannot be deemed anything but. The renegades, despite our attacks on governments, only extended to those who chose to support support organizations of Haven, the ones who seek to experiment on us like lab rats. We will not tolerate attacks on the common people of any race.

I want everyone to take a look at the events occurring curtailing the speeches of Mise Fortuna of the so-called Meta Mafia. We ask him to cease. This was never the fight we wanted. Our founding father, Zaku, would never have endorsed such things. If we must divide our own people to seek peace between all the races, then we will.

The reports begin to flood in, the worst devastation of Treterra since the Great War. A tragedy befallen Criel as there are numerous reports of explosions. The city has fallen, as it appears the entire city has been bombed and now covered in fire and smoke. They are predicting no survivors, there is no communication to the city whatsoever and responders are making their way to Criel to search for any survivors.

A lot of the civilians had been evacuated, if not all. But everyone military and responders within are likely deceased.

The fires have finally been brought under control as search and rescue crews continue to scour the rubble for survivors. The total survivor count so far is up to 37, those who were lucky enough to have been under ground at the time of the explosion and those who seem to have some fire resistance and were not killed by the falling debry.

The efforts continue on the search for human casualties, any and all metas and true races found are currently under arrest.

Military from Elissa are currently protecting the area, to prevent further destruction and desecration of the city and to help with the rescue and eventual rebuilding efforts. The great city of Criel will not be forgotten, it will rise again.

There is a new warning for all people who used the Renegade transport, Norcrest official are warning that the destruction of Criel could have been cause by the powers of specific metas that allow them to infected into the blood stream of specific people such as our allies and turn them into small range bombs.

If you or anyone you know was taken out of Criel by Renegade members please check yourself in into the nearest hospital for a screening. Due to the variety of meta powers, infected people may not know they are infected until the meta decides to activate the attack. Haven research is currently volunteering with the efforts of pinpointing infected individuals and deactivating the power.

Please be aware the Renegade are part of the Mafia and any and all properganda shown on TV is a way to attack families, friends and love ones as they take their goal of a world just for metas...without humans, further up.

Norcrest News:

In a surprising take, Norcrest council in a recently unveiled decision, voted against the New Start program allowing a handful of metas to join the city as citizens before possible being extended city wide. One of the most stout supports for metas rights surprisingly voted against the bill dooming it a hour before Criel's destruction. Currently there does not seem to be any link between the bill and the destruction of Criel. Currently there is a strong push to gather up and isolate metas in Norcrest for fear of another assault such as what happened on Criel.

In other news, mourners and family of love ones who were in Criel during its destruction are gathering to hear any word of survivors at the Samuel RedHart base in Norcrest.

Morrad News

Leader Griselda Fox has sent troop support to Norcrest, citing that in the best interest of our city the human governments should be working together against the meta and any threat to human and true race lives. That the destruction of Criel is a warning to our complicity in dealing with the metas and that action is sometimes the best defense.

A mysterious footage appears, unsanctioned, broadcast. It shows an array of scenes ranging from normal, odd, weird, and down right disturbing. There is little explanation for the video or any claim to it's origins. It just plays out of nowhere once, twice, or even three times in a row before everything goes back to normal. This continues every few hours at a seemingly random pace.

Scenes

1: Looks like a live feed from inside the Norcrest government building. There is a meeting, talking about the state of affairs in Criel and plans to send military to fight.

2: Two of the Norcrest council are sitting on a kid's park swinset and swing back and forth. A woman with red hair and green eyes (Penny Dixon) enters frame briefly. She calls to them to come "take their medicine" and the two council members take off running for her excitedly like children.

3: Mise at one of his speeches, but he faces away from the audience. Nothing else is out of the ordinary here.

4: Zaku is chained up, he pleads loyalty to Haven. He looked broken distressed, and bandaged.

5: The dictator of Morrad is licking a lampost and is holding a leash that is attached to a goat. Kylar is excitedly riding this goat.

6: There is another Norcrest meeting, this time talking about how they will ask Mise a good time to set up the attack. One man in the meeting is nervous. "Won't that cause a war?" There is small outcry. The two men from the swings look at each other before assuring that is the point.

7: A human girl with black hair is being placed into a machine labeled "Fun Time Junction". One attendant inquires why they are experimenting on her when there are hundreds of metas to work on. Metas are too unpredictable the others says. They turn on the machine, screams and pleading before the machine indicates her heart has stopped. They try to resuscitate her, even use a defib, but none of this works. This was clearly not supposed to happen.

8: Zaku is on top of a medical bed, strangling Mara, they are both wearing party hats. There is a cake off the the side with lit candles. As Mara takes her last breath, dies, a large amount of norcrest officials burst into the room cheering. Several form a conga line. Zaku exits without acknowledging any of this and looks remorseful.

9: Andy is standing on a building ledge. She stares down at destruction, a leveled city crying.

10: Penny Dixon (norcrest) is standing next to Mise who is giving a speech, she licks the side of his face. Mise is suddenly wearing a party hat.

11: A night vision camera shows Andy and the Morrad dictator "sleeping" together.

12: Same scene but now Andy is wearing a Lolita dress and bonnet. People walk into the room and pop streamers over them and cheer loudly.

13: Andy is standing on the building again, she jumps and dies below.

14: Mise is now in chains pledging loyalty to Haven. Zaku rides a horse in the background.

15: A small girl with braided brown hair waves at the camera. She is the cameraman as she runs through a dark hallway, at the end of the hall, she opens a door and it is a large room with a pile of dead bodies in the center. They are all children. All races. There is silence as the camera focuses on it before "you there!" is yelled in the distance. The girl holding the camera gasps and panics and takes off running.

16: The exact same scene again. There is text at the bottom of the screen. [This is fun.] As she enters the room this time, all the bodies are decomposed to unidentifiable bones. The text now reads [We will all befall the same fate.]

17: Mise stands at a podium, saying nothing. There is no audience. Only a line of caskets that stretch farther than the camera can see. [The only inevitability is death.]

18: There is a girl in a cloak, the renegade patch on her shoulder as she stands in a cemetery of thousands alone. The area is desolate. Smoke in the distance. She stares down at a grave. It is silent. [No side is right until the war ends.] A female human child enters, running and hugging the leg of the woman in the cloak. The child is wearing a vest with a norcrest symbol on it as it explodes, killing them both. [Die for nothing. Just keep killing.]

19: Norcrest officials are digging through rubble in Criel, finally uncovering the same woman in the cloak, her hood down to reveal short pink hair, blue eyes and freckles. She is covering and protecting two children, a true race demon and a human. The officials help them out and continue to dig for others while the three are given medical attention. The pull out another. A toddler who looks very much like Echo at a glance. She cries and they help her out. The small meta toddler runs over to the pink-haired woman and hugs her leg scared. [It is not too late.]

20: The feed is distorted, its now showing Criel laid to waste just as it is now. It pans over the city just as dawn is breaking. [Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by mutual understanding.]

21: Kids are playing at the park. All races, just generally having a good time without a care. [If we don't end war, war will end us.]

22. Blank screen. [You're choice. I really don't care anymore.]

Golem:
After the meta child absorbs the embedded clay item they are heated until it activates the DNA held within. Any who do not who these signs are dispose of.
They are able to mimic their donor perfectly to the point they think they are them. If the doner was a meta they will imitate their power. If it was a human, outside if the first change, they exhibit no other powers. At death they do not revert back, such as a clay pot does not revert back to mud once it is broken. They may be programmed with simple commands or suggestions prior to item addition or removal. Making them ideal at being sleeper agents.

Through use of the meta code name Fairy Ring ,multiple blood sample for golems taken, we are able to study the affect of parallel worlds and send a few to these places. Sending originals none
-golems allow for less problem in harvesting blood samples and conducting experiments. At times souls are transferred to their doppelgänger. Interrogation reveal more information about these worlds. Project manages focused on world Treterra35 for being 35 years in the future but having similar concurrent if sometimes opposite events.

What is known is that the city of Criel was destroyed by a group named the meta Mafia and they have slowly gained traction to the point of becoming an army. Humans and true races have joined forces to fight this growing threat, some even becoming police states to counter the threat.
Renegades are still active, taking in metas from the SIU department in Belrad even if reluctantly. In group fighting has been seen as normal. We have the control list for Trisuri Gold Shiroi, married to Zaku Shiroi below

The Zaku of this world has violent episodes where his soul separates from his body. Fairy Ring has indicated that his item might be calling to the spirits of his dopplegangers. If true then we will need our Zaku to affect things in that world and use Fairy Ring's soul switching ability to modify things here. Once Zaku has been captured he will finally be useful without ever knowing it.

Until then we are looking for other avenues. Tentative outreach to our counterpart in the other world has been met with skepticism, but we do not necessarily require their help. Currently efforts are indicating there is a surge of powerful metas somehow. Out next project details that.

PowerBoost
Using the meta project Sun79 we try to infer the origin of the strength of meta powers due to the dangerous nature of his powers and the lack of fine tuning. Unfortunately, due to the heat a good sample of blood for golem creation has not been successful. Originally assumed to be part of Deep Space it was quickly concluded he had no knowledge of the group. Placed in the reward program battles against golems give us good data as we develop a way to extract a safe and while sample.
