Aiday sat curled up on a couch in the common room, waiting for Iah. So they could go over their notes together for a class they had together. She looked up from her notebook to see if he was coming in yet. Then she looked back down at her notebook. Humm math. She didn't always understand all the problems they had to do, and it was nice that Iah was willing to go over there notes with her so she could understand and pass these classes. Aiday wanted to finish all this stuff up so she could take math class one more time then move on to studying the stars, which technically would require math anyway she sighed.

Iah slithered into the commons room where him and Aiday would be looking over their notes, his messenger bag filled with all the notes and books they would need for their math class. Iah was more into math than Aiday was, mostly because he was more into the science of the stars, which one needed math for. However he was more than willing to help his friend out, especially since it was something he was passionate about. "Was I late?" Iah asked as he went over to the bean bag chair by Aiday, sitting down in it and opening his bag to take out his notes ", I couldn't find one of my notebooks for math, so I took longer than I should of."

Aiday shook her head and said "No I don't think so, it's alright if you were, thank you for helping me with my math." She said in her normal soft tone. Aiday laughed "I wouldn't have expected that. I thought you were really good at math, why are you losing your notebook?" She asked looking Iah over to see what was going on this seemed a little strange. Aiday had known Iah since she was a freshling, they had crossed paths before in classes and because Aiday knew some of his adopted siblings. Aiday liked Micari and Natsumi quite a bit.

The truth was Iah had been trying to make himself presentable for Aiday, having lost track of time and having to rush to get there. He liked Aiday quite a bit, but wouldn't ever admit it. He simply wished to have her as a friend, and that was how it would remain ", Yeah I forgot I left it on my desk, so I spent all this time looking through my notebooks for other classes when it was simply on my desk. So-"He took out the notes Aiday needed help with, offering them to her to look over ", I haven't seen you much as of recently. So much has been going on, and we really haven't talked a bunch. What has been going on?"

Aiday nodded and said "That makes sense, I sometimes lose things and learn they were right under my nose the whole time." Aiday blinked at Iah's next question, she didn't think he worried that much about what she did, so she was a bit confused by his sudden interest in what she had been doing, but maybe he was just trying to be nice. Small talk before they went to studying math right?? "Umm well I have been going up to the dorm roof to study the stars, since that is what I want to do when I grow up, what about you??"

"I've been good," he replied, looking up from his notes to her with a soft smile. She was turning out to be a beautiful day dream ", Been trying to get my act together on what exactly I want to do when I get older. I know I want to do something with the stars, and my family is happy for that... but they wish I would go down the path of a astrologer. I wish to follow the path of a astrologist, which is hard when your family is pushing you to follow their ways of life," he looked down to the floor and sighed some ", When I was starting to become a junior they wished to take me home because I showed an interest in science over the divine. I put my tail down and told them I refused to go home. After a while they did back down, but still nag me to follow their path. They love me still, but it is hard."Before Aiday could talk to him on the issue, he quickly tried to change the topic " , But enough about my problems. We are here for math. Is there anything you have been having a hard time on in the class? I understand it, but I am wanting to make sure you do too."

Aiday smiled sadly "I don't have a family pushing me since I don't have a family." She said softly. She had enjoyed hanging out with Micari's adopted family once in a while and with Natsumi. Otherwise, Aiday didn't have many friends or family, that was alright though since Aiday still grew nervous when she was around large crowds. "I'm sorry they are pushing you to do something you do not wish to do." She said softly "I am interested in science and the stars as well, I want to know what else is out there in the sky." She said in a dreamy tone. Aiday blushed and said "I'm not really good at any of this junior math, how about we just start from the beginning of the junior math book?"

Iah simply gave a nod and opened to the front of the book, seeing what was there. Surely Aiday knew some of what was on the page, right? After all, she was one of the smartest students he knew. There was no way she didn't understand all of it ", So you sure you don't understand any of it? If we are both going to study the skies, we will be needing some of this math for sure."A growl emanated from his tummy, the naga looking down at his stomach before he pulled out a snack bar from his bag. He was about to open it and take a bite to quench his hunger until he thought about letting Aiday have some. Maybe she was hungry too? ", Would you like to have a snack bar as well? I have a few of them, so I don't mind sharing. I also have a few flavors to choose from."

Aiday looked at the book and found some things she did understand and found the things that really puzzled her. She showed them to Iah and then she heard his tummy rumble. "What flavors do you have?" she asked softly looking at the food bar that Iah was eating. Aiday never ate meat and she didn't eat some other things, she was rather picky with what she liked to eat in general since she felt like a plant herself. She nodded "Yes I suppose you are correct which is why I asked you to help me with my math studies." Aiday wondered if Iah was comfortable with tutoring.

He looked over the flavors, trying to find something Aiday would like to eat. Since he preferred meat, it was hard to find one that would be suitable for her. He really should of thought of that before offering one to her " , Umm... it would seem most are meat flavored. So uhh...." he panicked a little to try and find a normal one for her, finally coming across one that could work ", Oh! Chocolate and peanuts! That should be a good one."His hand reached out to offer it to her, wondering if she would like it at all, or even accept it ", I'll have to remember to get more variety in what you would eat for you next time we do a study group," then a thought occurred to him ", You say you are having trouble with understanding the math... is it because of the lessons being focused around using a calculator?"

Aiday was very glad that the flavor Iah had offered her wasn't a meat flavor, she didn't really eat meat so it was a good thing it was peanut butter and chocolate, it also would have been fine if it was honey and nuts or something like that. She smiled and happily took the snack. "Thank you Iah." She said in a friendly tone. "It's more this." Aiday said and she opened the book to a part of the book that covered a certain type of equation that Aiday wasn't getting, it had so many letters and ( ) it didn't make any sense to her. "How do I do this one??"

"I'll show you how to do it without a calculator," he responded, taking out a piece of paper to help her figure out the problem. He remembered as freshlings how Aiday found it easier to do the math when it didn't involve the calculator, so it was best to try that out now too ", I figured out how to do the equation without it on my own, so I might as well teach you the secret." It was moments with Aiday that always made him gleam with joy, getting to be close to her as they learned more about the world around them. He hoped that they could keep growing closer as they aged, and at least remained friends through the ages. She was his best friend, and that was exactly fine with him. fade to black
