"I don't understand, I'm 17, why do I need a babysitter?" Tegan questioned her parents, "Honey, If you'd stop getting into so much trouble I wouldn't have to get you one!" Her mother argued, "I'm practically an adult, dad tell her!" She begged, "Well if you start acting like one, we'll stop finding a babysitter." Her father snapped, Tegan let out a loud groan and got up from the dining table where her parent's sat her down to talk. "This is ridiculous."" She mumbled, crossing her arms and headed towards her room. The second she heard the doorbell ring, "You better stay out here, Tegan!" Her mother demanded, Tegan rolled her eyes and sat down on the couch so she wasn't facing the front door. She was too embarrassed to have a babysitter, hopefully it isn't someone from her school.

Giving the large wooden door a few raps of his knuckle, the male took a step back and adjusted the strap of the duffle bag that hung over his shoulder. Confidence and professionalism marked his features. He had handled plenty of unruly boys and girls in the past; Nicholas had been picking up babysitting jobs for a little more than a year now to earn a little extra money on the side.

In a matter of seconds, the door flung open and he was greeted by a friendly face that belonged to the women that he guessed responded to his ad. "You are right on time. Come on in," she said enthusiastically, welcoming him into their home. "Heather, I presume?" The male asked, stepping inside with a smile that showed off his perfect pearly whites. "You would be correct. It's a pleasure to meet you." Nicholas's smile just carried on as he spoke, saying, "The pleasure is all mine, I assure you." He shook the woman's hand and her husband's as well before glancing around for the girl.

"Where is little miss Tegan?" He asked the couple, mildly confused. "Oh, she's not--" The husband started, although Heather was quick to shush him before smiling towards Nicholas. "She's in the living room. Now if you'll excuse us, we really have to go. Come on, John." She tugged him along and he hurriedly picked up the luggage before following her out the door, Heather saying, "thanks again!" as she went.

Nicholas watched them go with a rather muddled expression on his face. Why were they in such a hurry? And without even saying goodbye to their little girl, also? Scratching the back of his head, the male simply brushed it off as them being late for their flight and turned to head into the living room where Tegan was said to be. "Tegan?" He called out, his English accent profound. Although there was no response, a faint smile touched his lips when he saw the back of her blonde head on the couch. Children were always stubborn, this sort of behaviour failed to phase him; they refused to warm up to him until after the first couple days or so. Glancing towards the television, Nicholas was surprised to see that she was watching one of those crime shows and wondered if her parents allowed that. "Do your parents let you wa--" He was cut off when he saw a girl--a much older girl than he was anticipating, sitting on the couch. She was practically a woman!

                                              "You're not eight years old...?"

While listening to her parents converse with her 'babysitter', Tegan sat there watching one of her favorite songs, Criminal Minds. Her parents rushed out of the house and didn't bother to say goodbye. Proof that they didn't really care for her anymore, they were going to be gone for 3 days but didn't bother to tell Tegan what for. She knew the only reason they got her a babysitter was so the house wasn't bothered. They cared about the house the most. Ignoring the male when he called out her name, she continued to enjoy her show.

The second the male questioned if her parents allowed her to watch this show, she rolled her eyes and leaned back on the couch, why wouldn't they let her watch the show?! She's 17, about to be an adult, they really had no choice. As soon as the older male mentioned her not being eight years old, Tegan turned her head towards him, slightly confused. "Why would you think I was eight years old?" She asked, already annoyed with this guy. Getting up from the couch, Tegan walked away from the living room and towards her room.

Already, he didn't like her. She gave off that bratty teenage girl vibe that he was all too familiar with. "Well it certainly wasn't an assumption," he started, slipping his hands into his pockets as he walked leisurely towards the staircase. "Your parents responded to an ad that I had posted on Indeed, one where I had specifically stated that I don't do teenagers;...they lied about your age and here we are." The male pressed his lips into a smile that displayed absolutely no contentment. If it weren't for the grand sum of money that Tegan's parents were offering him, nearly five hundred dollars for three days, he would have been out the door a long time ago. Watching the girl march up the stairs towards her room, Nicholas chuckled a bit. "I suppose you're headed up to your room to sulk about how horrible your life is now?"

Taking the first two steps of the staircase, Tegan turned back once the older male informed her that her parents lied about her age. "Those assholes." She mumbled under her breath, "You can leave and come back Sunday night to get how ever much money they offered you. I won't tell." The blonde smirked and stepped up the rest of the stairs, hearing the stranger comment on her going upstairs to sulk about her horrible life, Tegan rolled her eyes. "At least you understand." She added, walking into her room without bothering to close the door. Sitting down on the side of her bed, she pulled grabbed her remote to turn the tv on so she could get back to Criminal Minds. The sitter her parents hired but didn't bother to tell him her real age seemed annoying, some one who had to make a comment on anything and everything. A dude who couldn't keep his mouth shut.

"Just one of the many perks of having a teenage cousin," he muttered. After Tegan had dispersed up the ever-growing staircase, Nicholas looked around figuring he may as well give himself a tour of the house since no one else had been gracious enough to. Noticing a slight smudge on the right lens of his glasses, however, the male pulled a black handkerchief from his back pocket and took off his glasses briefly to wipe it away using his thumb and forefinger. He did this as he walked aimlessly around their home, before sliding them back onto his face as he approached the kitchen.

His cousin, Sarah, was like an annoying little sister to him. Every couple weeks, his parents among other family members would gather at his uncle's home for a barbecue/family dinner. Nicholas was always trying to weasel his way out of attending, making up excuse after excuse, although his mother would see right through him nearly every single time. With every conversation that he and his cousin had, it would somehow, some way, always spiral into an argument.

Which would then turn into a yelling match, or even oftentimes a wrestling match. And then she would run off whining to his mother saying he hurt her when he barely even touched her. She would say something like, 'Look at it, do you see what he did to me? At this point, if I wanted to lie out, I could not wear a bathing suit.' To which he would reply, 'Over exaggerating, yet again. Learn the concept of the word privacy and we shouldn't have anymore issues.' He loved her to bits, though.

The kitchen was magnificent - spacious, with a dining room connected, an abundance of storage space with all the cupboards. He quickly discovered where everything was kept, so that he could cook up dinner tonight without a struggle. The living room was nice and big - a fire place under the plasma screen television, beautiful decor, hardwood flooring. On the walls were several paintings and framed family photos. He decided to avoid the upper floor and maybe give it a look when Tegan passed out. The backyard was great - with it's wood patio, outdoor furniture and barbecue and a stone walkway that lead out to the rest of the backyard, where a pool and hot tub awaited, as well as a vegetable and flower garden. Lawn decorations were placed along the fresh green grass as well.

Til dinner, he decided to lounge in the living room. Finding the remote, he lowered himself onto the cushion of the couch and crossed his legs, ankle over knee. He flipped through the channels for a bit before he landed on something he enjoyed, a rerun of Game of Thrones.

After hiding in her room, Tegan got a text message from a girl she went to school with telling her to come out to a party tonight. Tegan always found a way to get to the parties her older friends invited her to. Standing up, she looked around her room, trying to think of a good way to make Nicholas believe in some random lie she'd come up with. Texting her best friend, Amanda, to pick her up, Tegan packed two of her nicest dressed, a pair of heels that would pair with the both of them into a backpack along with a binder from her schoolbag. Heading down stairs when Amanda said she was here, Tegan pulled her most serious face on and stood at the entrance of the living room. "Hey," She started, getting his attention, "I'm leaving to Amanda's house, we have a project to work on, my parents should have mentioned it to you."

The girl was pretty good at lying, she learned from the best, her mother. Her mother was the best liar in the world, she could pass a lie detector without trying that hard. "So, may I go? Amanda's outside waiting, she'll bring me home tonight too." Tegan said, although she knew she wouldn't the two always found someone else to give them rides because the two loved drinking. Adjusting the straps on her backpack, Tegan glanced at the show Nicholas was watching, Game of Thrones.

Tegan was ready for Nicholas to question her, he looked like a guy who had to know everything. Plus she was prepared for him to ask what was in the backpack, which was why she purposely put the binder in there when she grabbed the two dresses she was going to decide on wearing.

Upon hearing Tegan walking down the stairs, Nicholas turned his head slightly to see her coming into the living room with a backpack strapped over her shoulders. "They didn't. You were supposed to have been an eight year old girl, remember?" He asked rhetorically, sounding unimpressed. He couldn't quite tell whether the young lady was lying or not. "But I suppose I could grant you some leeway," he began, grabbing the remote to pause his show briefly. Once again she asked if she could go and stated that her friend, Amanda, was outside waiting for her.

"Right, well, you are to be back before eleven. Gives you plenty of time to work on this so-called 'project', and I would like Amanda's address as well as your number." Retrieving his phone from the front pocket of his trousers, the male opened notepad and handed the device over to Tegan so that she could enter the information. Once that was over with, he shoved it back into his pocket before standing up to walk the blonde to the door. He opened it for her and saw Amanda's car parked out by the curb. "Do not take my trust for granted, Tegan. Are we clear?" The Englishman questioned while the girl slipped on her shoes, the expression on his face solemn and unmoving.

Nicholas had already decided on a punishment if he found out that Tegan was doing anything other than studying - he would put her on house arrest for the duration of the weekend. Even if that meant he had to install new locks on each and every window and door of the house.

Smirking when Nicholas reminded her that her parents told him she was an eight year old little girl, Tegan thought it was funny but still a little ******** up. Curfew at eleven? Although Tegan wasn't going to bother getting home on time, that was way too early. Her parents never gave her a curfew, she was never sure why but didn't bother to complain. Letting out a quiet sigh, Tegan walked into the living room and set her backpack on the ground so she could write down Amanda's address and give her phone number to him.

Writing down her address on the notepad and taking Nick's phone to put her number, the younger female put her real number just to be safe and if anything happened. She knew he'd be blowing up her phone when Tegan doesn't show up at home, so she'd have his number. "I'm not, Nicholas. Okay?" She said and turned around so she could roll her eyes and slip her white slip on Vans on. "I'll see you at eleven, Nick. Thanks for trusting me." Tegan called out and walked out the front door, locking it behind her. Smiling as she saw Amanda's car in her driveway, she adjusted the straps on her backpack and ran towards the car, jumping into the passenger seat.

After getting ready at Amanda's house, the two drove to their friends house where the party was. Tegan was wearing a black, tight, short dress that showed off a lot of leg and some black heals. Her hair was slightly curled and there was a red solo cup in her hand full of some shitty drink, she didn't care how bad it was though. She desperately wanted to get drunk tonight.

After a couple of hours into the party, it was almost one in the morning and her phone wouldn't stop going off so she turned it off, so Nicholas' messages would stop messaging her and he wouldn't be able to track her phone to where she was. "Tegan, come with me." A guy from her school begged her, "Why? She asked, the boy grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the stairs. "I want to show you something." He smirked, Tegan was pretty drunk so she decided to follow him up the stairs.

The boy had tried to kiss her and touched her breast, Tegan pushed him off a couple of times but he kept touching her. <********, stop!" She yelled and ran down the stair to find Amanda. After searching for her all around the house, Tegan decided to call her last resort, Nicholas. Running out of the house, she walked down the road while her phone turned on, wiping the tears away from her eyes. "Nick? Can you pick me up, I'm scared and I want to go home." She begged him, more tears running down her face, "I'll text you the address, can you hurry?" Anyone could hear the fear in her voice.

The second his phone began to vibrate on the counter, Nicholas dropped what he was doing in an instant and picked it up to see who was calling him - although he had a pretty good idea. He scowled in anger and frustration when he saw Tegan's name flashing across the screen. The man had been blowing up her phone since eleven o'clock, two hours ago, he had called her at least a dozen times only to find that it would go straight to voicemail every single time.

Nicholas swiped his thumb across the screen and lifted the phone to his ear. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, TEGAN?!" He yelled in rage, although his light blue eyes were quick to widen in fear when he heard the girl crying as she spoke. After two hours of blatantly ignoring him, she needed his help. Pathetic. He ran out to the car and started the engine up, shaking his head as the blonde went on. "Tell me the address now, I have my GPS right in front of me," he said, sounding a dangerous mixture of pissed the ******** off and highly exasperated.

Soon enough, Nicholas was pulling up to the house that Tegan stood in front of, only he purposely parked a good twenty feet ahead of where she was standing. Petty, though she deserved it. His lips were pressed into a grim line as she entered the vehicle and he didn't bother waiting for her to even get settled in before he zoomed off. "So," he started, breaking the silence, "you have some explaining to do. Go on, let's hear it." At this point, he could care less of what happened to Tegan at the party she was at. He never said he was nice and he had no sympathy whatsoever for liars.

After getting off the phone with Nicholas, Tegan sat down on the sidewalk a couple of houses down from the one she was at while she waited for Nicholas to come pick her up. She was still scared and her eyes were filled with tears, wiping them away, she dried her hands on the back of her short dress and watched for Nicholas. A couple of more minutes went by and a car that looked a lot like Nicholas' flew past her, she knew it was him because he stopped right in front of the house. Standing up, Tegan sighed and walked over to his car and got into the passenger seat, he quickly headed back towards her house before she could get her seat belt on.

Rolling her eyes when he demanded an explanation, she crossed her arms and laid back in the passenger seat. "It doesn't matter anyways, you're not my parent." She snapped, still upset from what happened at the party. Wiping away another tear, Tegan watched Nicholas take the third exit off the round about near her house instead of the second. "It's the second exit, you need to turn around." She told him.

Finally making it to her house, Tegan got out of the car and stumbled into the house, the girl was drunk off her a**, she'd probably have to sleep in the guest room downstairs and hopefully find some clothes in the dryer, so she wouldn't have to climb up the huge spiral stair case. Heading towards the stairs, Tegan avoided Nicholas yelling at her and took the two first steps before sitting down, the drunk was already dizzy. "Nick can you help me up the stairs, maybe instead of bitching at me?" She asked, ignoring everything thing he bitched at her.

Nicholas followed behind the drunken Tegan into the house. He had been trying his absolute hardest not to lose his temper with her during the ride home, and had succeeded thus far. Shrugging off his jacket and putting it on one of the empty coat hangers, the male kicked his shoes off onto the mat and was prepared to go straight to bed -- when Tegan asked him for help. Help, after the stunt she had just pulled. The 6'2" male paused and turned to Tegan, clad in a plain black t-shirt with a pair of plaid pyjama bottoms.

"No," he answered flatly, no emotion audible in his voice. He was so livid, so inconceivably irritated, that he felt as though yelling would only be a waste of his time. "You can sleep on the stairs for all I care. We will discuss your punishment tomorrow morning." He turned and continued walking down the hallway then, disappearing into the guest room. On top of all his pent up anger, he was also tired and in dire need of some rest. He was never one to stay up till all hours of the night, and right now it was nearly two o'clock in the morning.

After brushing his teeth, Nicholas stripped down to his boxers and got into bed, falling asleep almost instantly.

Her brows furrowed when Nick told her no, what a great babysitter. He cared so much when she didn't come home after her stupid little curfew and rushed to her side when she called him crying but couldn't bother to help her up the stairs. He walked out of her sight and turned all the lights off. The guy was a p***k and didn't know anything about having fun, Tegan would have to show him how, he probably hasn't even gotten high before.

Before she knew it, Tegan had fell asleep on the stairs. How? She had no idea, the stairs were just shined wood and were hard as ********. Maybe she was that drunk, sitting up, she looked around the dark house and got up to walk to the laundry room. Kicking her heels off, she dug through the dryer for a large t-shirt she could be more comfortable. Grabbing one of her fathers shirts, she stripped off her tight dress and was left in only her panties. Trying to figure out how to flip the inside out shirt, she gave up and put it on. She was still pretty drunk, walking out from the laundry room, the drunken girl stumbled towards the guest room, passing the kitchen and checking the time, it was almost 5:30 in the morning. Opening the door, she yawned and jumped into the bed. Landing on Nicholas' body and hitting her forehead on his chin.

"What the ********> She yelled, gripping her forehead, "Why are you in here?!" Tegan asked, she assumed he'd stay in the upstairs guest room just so he could keep a closer watch on Tegan. Moving so she sat down on the edge of the bed but still facing the older male, she crossed her bare legs and covered them with the blanket. Although it was dark in the room, he might turn the lamp on the night stand on.

A loud, disgruntled groan was the first thing that left his lips. "What in the--" He began furiously, rubbing his hooded eyes tiredly as he reached over to the lamp. He fumbled with the string for only a moment before he finally got a hold of the damned thing, giving it an aggressive yank to shed some light in the room. "Why do you bloody think I'm in here?! I sure as s**t didn't go to the guest room upstairs, did I??" He shouted back, brunette locks a tousled mess and a light stubble visible on his face. Cursing under his breath, Nicholas pressed his lips together and grabbed his phone from the opposite side of the bed to check the time.

"Just get to bed, it's five thirty in the ******** morning," he muttered, turning the lamp light off before laying back down and turning away from the teenager. Children were so simple to take care of...they ate, they watched tv, they ate some more, and then they would go to bed at a reasonable hour. While teenagers were just these obnoxious, entitled little pricks that Nicholas had zero tolerance for. He couldn't remember ever acting out the way that Tegan did. Then again, the man attended a prestigious private school and his parents had been hard on him his entire life, especially his father.
