"Careful now..." she purred.

She had been watching him for some time now; high above him in the trees, he hadn't even caught a glimpse at her as he wandered through the forest. This didn't mean that he wasn't aware of her presence; she'd noted how he had stopped every so often to glance about. Suffice it to say that his training with Adar had proven to be successful. However, this didn't mean that he didn't have anything else to learn, to say he had considerable weaknesses was a tad too much, but he still had some vulnerabilities that needed to be addressed.

After all, the lioness had already received her briefing and acknowledged what her commander had said. While the Collective might have a variety of unique individuals within it, each designed to cover the vulnerabilities or weaknesses of another, Tethys did not have that luxury. Thus the lioness had taken her orders to heart and had promptly set off to find him.

Her lessons, were in theory, simple... She was here to teach him about the phantoms and their methods of combat. However, Destati had been very particular about how this should be done. Under no circumstances was his son to find out that the collective were responsible, not yet at least. For this reason, Suu'marle had been charged with educating him as best she could without him putting two and two together. Given that subtlety was one of her specialties, she had taken to it like a duck to water.

...That didn't mean that Tethys had of course.

Completely unaware of the little traps that had been set here and there, the lion was coming dangerously close to setting them off and she simply didn't want that. There was a point to these traps, and unlike Adar's trials, she had no intention of using them to kill the young lion.

"One step too many and you're going to be as high as a kite and seeing tap-dancing gazelle," she warned.

He knew it.

The moment he had stepped in to this forest he had known that he wasn't alone. All those peculiar sensations that he had experienced when he had been subjected to, well, everything...Had ensured that he now understood what Arina meant by a feeling. It was difficult to describe, but the nagging sensation had been persistent and hadn't left him regardless of what he had done. He'd looked around regularly and seen nothing; yet he had encountered so many individuals on this conquest that seemed to simply be invisible that he was no longer fooled by his vision.

"All right," he replied and came to a halt. The female voice didn't seem to hold malice, if anything it seemed to be warning him about an inevitable consequence of proceeding further. It was another time when he was forced to look about him, though he wasn't looking for her so much as he was looking for whatever she had identified as a danger. So far he couldn't see it, to him everything appeared to be normal.

"Perhaps we should start off with the easier questions," he stepped backwards and glanced up. The voice had definitely come from above him, but as of yet he was still finding it difficult to place the location.

"First; where are you?" he queried first and narrowed his eyes.

"Second; who are you?" he continued, his eyes slowly taking in the canopy above him.

"And three," he paused as he caught sight of something that wasn't quite what it should be. It was very difficult to see, but it was there, the almost perfectly camouflaged shape of a feline. "What do you want?" he finished, fixing his gaze directly on the spot. He'd ask the rest of his questions once she was properly within his sight, but plenty of exposure to surprises had given him a renewed sense of awareness... No one was going to catch him off guard that easily anymore...

His father would be delighted to know that he was no longer easily surprised, Suu'marle watched with interest as he once again took in his surroundings and even afforded a smile when his eyes finally found her's. Now that was a vast improvement on the last time - gone were the days when he couldn't find a simple cave entrance. The Captain now had the capacity to spot even the most well hidden creatures in environments which clearly benefited them. Suu'marle could do nothing more than confirm his suspicions and she slowly began to unwind herself from the tree branches.

...To say lions couldn't climb trees was a rather foolish assumption indeed.

"The first question you already know the answer to," she replied smoothly as she made her way gracefully towards him. Aerial acrobatics aside, she continued to answer his queries as she drew nearer.

"As to the second; my name is Suu'marle and you have entered my domain," she finally landed, as softly as a whisper and gave herself a small shake. What leaves had been stuck to her fur soon loosened and drifted to the ground.

"And the third, is to ensure you don't disturb my companions while they sleep," she smiled mildly and motioned towards the bushes; while he couldn't see them at a glance, if he really looked he could see the ditches beneath and something was in them. "While you can certainly adapt to their venom I don't imagine you've had the time to do so," she chuckled.

"If you and any of your friends are going to be making use of the resources in this forest, then perhaps you might be open to some tips to avoid any accidental injuries," she hazarded and raised a brow. "And I can ensure my friends remain undisturbed, of course..."

Tethys watched as the green lioness descended from her perch; she was of a slighter build and significantly more lithe than those he was accustomed to, but this all seemed to work for her. After all, someone as large as him might struggle to climb quite so high as her, hell, he didn't even think that his weight would be supported up there. He had seen the twigs that could splinter from high above and there was nothing to them. Credit where it was due, she certainly utilised what she was designed for to the best of her ability...

Nevertheless when she finally began to answer his questions he did narrow his eyes and quickly afforded himself a glance towards the nearby foliage. Strewn about him, the clusters of plantlife completely covered the floor, and yet what she was pointing towards had obviously been right in front of him. He couldn't see it immediately but he stepped forward a few steps to peer down, only to find the slumbering serpents beneath.

...He could only imagine how many 'friends' she might be referring to.

That being said her intentions seemed logical enough and he afforded her 'friends' a final glance before returning his attention to the lioness.

"It has a number of things we need," he confirmed in a slow, measured tone. "So it would be advantageous for you to tell me what you know," he confirmed as he took up her offer. Perhaps while she was giving him information on how to avoid these accidents, he might also be able to gain a greater understanding of the region and everything else that was in it as well...
