Galla woke up early, like usual, to grab a cup of coffee on her way to class. It was something of an adventure she would have every morning, looking up some new coffee place and trying it out. Destiny City had a large variety of coffee shops, from the small independently owned drive through, to the mega chain StarBanks Coffee shops. It was fascinating finding all the little shops nestled here and there, hidden in the big city. Little neighborhood favorites, or big ones with wifi, plush chairs, and over-priced scones. Galla looked down at her phone, the place she was trying today should be right around the next corner. The girl smiled as the coffee shop came into view, and she inhaled, smelling the fine sent of coffee.

      It'd been a rough week.

Aaron was used to staying up late at this point. The case he'd taken was turning out in his favor, but with great effort and strain on his part. He'd been quite overwhelmed with all the work he'd been given, but drinking good, strong coffee every morning kept him awake, kept him sane, practically. It was near his workplace and he liked to visit almost every day. It was to the point that the staff knew his name, knew his orders, and respected his need for personal space. He didn't like to make small talk, and it was comfortable. The only problem: It'd gained a lot of attention since he'd moved the Destiny City. The line reached the door of the establishment, and Aaron released a loud sigh before relenting and standing behind a jet blue haired female. His eyes were dull and uncaring, bags obvious under his eyes as he stared blankly ahead, empty. He looked like a zombie.

Galla didn't look up from her phone as someone opened the cafe doors and stood behind her. She just needed to finish this text, and oh, check that one, oh a new snapchat! Cant let that go unanswered! Galla giggled as she viewed the ridiculous video her friend from economics class had sent, and was finally all caught up on her social media! Well as far as anyone can be. There was no such thing as "caught up" when it came to social media, but Galla had come to this new cafe to actually see Destiny City, so she might as well get an eyeful. It was quaint and cute. A little shop, not one of the big industrial chains. The workers all looked chipper and friendly, and it gave off a feeling that Galla could not help but smile to.

She peered over her shoulder at whom ever had just walked in, and did a double take, letting out an audible "Yikes!" He was an older man, yes, but the grey tint to his skin, the bags under his eyes, and the vacant stare added ten maybe twenty years onto the man. Galla blushed as she realized she had exclaimed out loud, but she did have some concern for the guy. "Uh, Good morning! Are you okay, sir?" Galla asked, turning her attention to the obviously sickly looking man.

A yikes caught his attention, eyes darting to the girl infront of him as his nose wrinkled in disgust. It'd been a giggly, annoying teenager with her nose stuck on her phone, skin glowing, eyes wide and innocent, obviously uncaring to the world around her. She was too focused on her phone. Damn, he sounded like an old man. I technically am. He rebutted to himself, eyes dull as her face reddened and she asked him a question. His eyes narrowed, cutting to the side as his tongue clicked. "Morning." He responded, lifting a hand and adjusting his scarf, obviously uncaring. She sounded like she was mocking him, teens these days. "I'm fine." He said stiffly, hoping that would be enough to keep her from talking to him. He didn't want interaction. He just wanted his coffee.

Galla tried to just turn around and pretend nothing happened, just stand in line and wait for the coffee she was anticipating. The hair on her arm stood on end tho, and she felt uncomfortable just leaving it. Galla glanced back over her shoulder at the older man, trying to be stealthy, and quickly looked forward again. She felt it, that need to do something, at least to get this weird hair-rising feeling off herself. Galla glanced over her shoulder again, then fighited with her phone. Finally, she turned at least a little more towards the man, and hesitantly said, "Umm..."

She was still staring at him. What, was he some sort of a show? Aaron's mouth curled into a frown of distaste at her occasional glances, and he looked back down at her, eyes obviously annoyed. "What? What is it?" His foot tapped in impatience. "What do you want?" The line moved forward some.

Galla flinched away at first, but felt herself grow angry. What she was going to do was offer him her spot, let him get in front of her, as he obviously needed the drink more than she did. Galla's voice started out harsh, anger clouding her good intention, "What i was going to say, was do you want my spot in line? Clearly you need your addiction to caffine far more than i do, and hey, why not let someone in front if it brightens up their day." Galla, still riled and now attracting the looks of everyone in the entire shop, stepped out of line, and swept her arms sarcastically, offering the man her spot. She instantly felt guilty for exploding, but everyone's eyes were on her, freezing her to the spot, unable to get away.

Aaron didn'5 budge, definitely finding her temper tantrum beneath him. His gloved fingers clenched tightly, and the red eyed man could feel his irritation grow. She was definitely a spoiled brat. He didn't want her to "win" though, and felt his stubborn side peek out indignantly. He swallowed it back. She'd already made enough of a scene. And besides, he'd get his coffee faster. He stepped forward, looking even more cranky after her interruption, eyes holding no gratitude. His expression held a narrowed gaze, almost as if saying, are you happy now?!? "Thanks." He said blandly, smoothly, as if regarding a child. He obviously felt like he deserved it more than she did.

Galla smiled, a little forcefully, but sweetly. She could feel her shoulders tensing up as the man sarcastically thanked her. "Its so nice to meet such sweet people of Destiny City. Do have a happy day, okay!" Galla said, then turned around and left the shop.

He won. The sarcastic response he received from the younger teen was enough to make his gaze look straight ahead. He said thanks, wasn't that enough? Apparently not. Did she want a fruit basket for her "good deed?" What a joke. She was bitter because she didn't get something out of it.

He rolled his eyes and continued waiting for his turn, disregarding the occasional stares and whispers echoing behind him. If they want to talk, let them talk. He didn't care.

      Coffee was more important.
