Background
The Mages, powerful beings with great magical power. Great intellect and the ability to learn and adapt to any situations. The ideals of the kingdom is simple. Stay alive. The previous tones of the kingdom brought nothing but war and hatred among the people. With this, jealousy. It can't be said whether the war was righteous or not or that the actions of mages can always be beneficial to everyone. However, that the best part. The mages are for themselves and themselves only. The mage life is quite simple, Freedom. Do whatever you want to do, but please realize the consequences of those actions. No one is going to risk saving a mage that is trapped because of his or hers foolish actions. The kingdom, there are no standards of ethical correctness. Cheat, lie, steal, do whatever comes to the mind. Buy prostitutes, hustle others. Not even magical? The college can fix that and give you magical power beyond the wildest dream. Well, maybe one rule comes into play. Don't ever Cross the King. Play with the dead? Fine. Steal from others, fight, cause a little bit of chaos through out the lands. That is fine. However, if come for the King. Nothing but Death is the outcome

The History of Karst: A Kingdom Finally Free
A Kingdom that has stood the test of time. A Kingdom that has survived the weights of agony, the gloomy fate of destruction, and many invasions and attacks. Many may try to deny the resolve of the Kingdom, but vitality is where this place shine. Though, many believe that the History of violence against Karst wouldn't of happened if the previous Rulers weren't such fools. Or grew a spine. Before the Military Coup, Karst was ruled by a wicked Queen accomponied by a pathetic excuse of a King. While she allowed similar freedoms, magical restrictions were placed on the Mages and her loyalty expectations rivaled that of a Dictator. Many who have rebelled ended up exiled, or worse, Killed. However, after the Conflicts involving the Dragons and Vampires, the ruling power of the Kingdom seemed weakened. The amount of lives lost, the regret, dread, and disgust of older mages,..a revolution was inevitable. It would have taken Centuries, but it could not be avoided.
Revolution came soon and with it a knew King rose. Though his time spent was as fleeting as the revolution he lead. With him gone a new king had to ascend to the throne. Unanimously decided Surtr (against his will) was made king. He was placed at the apex of the kingdom being thrusted into the spotlight. His first move was to change the system Karst is no longer a monarchy and instead has moved to the oligarchy with a head representing 3 branches (the people, the college, and the military) a council was formed. This council now works together to build a better Karst and to ensure the continued prosperity and growth of its kingdom.

Though don't underestimate them, professors are some of the most knowledgable mages and in this kingdom knowledge almost always equals power.
Battle Mage: Mages that are very skilled with fighting. They typically fill guard roles or such. They are granted many freedoms and besides when they are needed for duties they are usually free to come and go as they please.

Civilian: Citizens of the Karst Kingdom. Not necessarily magical. Can perform some spells, but not seen as gifted in the arts. Failures of the Kingdom some call them. These also includes refugees in which enter the Kingdom. If gracious enough to be taught magic, refuges to the Kingdom are able to learn 1 discipline (Natural or Neutral with permission) from a Mage who chooses to teach them. Be warned, Karst Mages rarely teach those who are not mages themselves. However, surely there is someone around who may do so.
