Natsumi was in the academy's dance studio, she stood at the bar in front of a row of mirrors on the wall. She was starting her warm-ups and stretches before starting on working on some new dance moves for her next dance class. Natsumi still wasn't sure what dance style she wanted to focus on for her career but she loved to dance. She had dryad feet so she didn't use most types of dance shoes. So she was leaning towards modern and jazz style dance. She didn't have any music on at the moment, she was just focused on her warm-up moves.

Natsumi glanced over at the little freshling who had come into the older class studio, they looked grumpy. She wondered why and if there was anything she could do to help them feel better. She finished her warm up then she started working on some modern dance moves that she was working on a dance piece for her next dance class. Natsumi didn't rush the freshling treating them like a little badger that might very well claw her if she moved too fast in their direction. If the freshling wanted to come to her they could, if not that was ok too. Natsumi knew from her other siblings you could lead a horse to water, but sometimes you couldn't get them to put on their shoes. She went down on the floor and did a roll, twisting and turning as she rolled across the floor. Then she stood up again her arms moving in a graceful arch. She lost herself in the movements not thinking of anything else but the dance piece she didn't need music to dance, the music was always running around in her mind as she moved through her day. Natsumi knew that there were others in the past that thought her dreams were silly but she never let them talk her out of her dreams.

Natsumi had to let go of her fear of performing in front of others when she was a freshlings just starting to learn to dance. If she had not she would have had a lot of trouble, grabbing hold of what she wanted and running for it. When she was a freshling she had dreamed of becoming a ballerina but when she grew older she realized that might not work for her. So she started trying jazz and modern instead. She went through the first part of the dance she had come up with for class, then she paused to think.

The next part needed something more, she went through the leg kick overs and the knee rolls, then she paused again. There had to be something else she could do in her piece that would show her dance teacher she was ready for the advanced dance classes. Twirls and such were easy, she needed something more flashy but still controlled. She couldn't show Zoey a messy piece that would never fly. Natsumi glanced over at the freshling doing their warm ups, thinking about things from her freshling class. She laughed softly then went to the prop closet to get a streamer then did her moves again with the streamer ribbon. It was something Miss Zoey had her freshling dance class do.

Natsumi finished up her piece and she smiled when she finished she grabbed her towel and her water bottle. Then went into cool down stretches it was important to stretch before and after. That way she would be able to continue her dancing day after day. Natsumi was confident that she would pass her next dance assignment. She was looking forward to seeing her teacher's reaction to her new dance piece. She didn't know what Lilan's reaction had been while she was dancing since it was way to hard to dance and watch the audience's reactions to her work. She didn't poke or prod Lilan for what he thought of her dance. She was confident, so she didn't need someone to fluff her up. She did turn to him and ask "Did you see any mistakes?" freshlings were often very honest so there was a good chance that if the freshling saw a mistake he would be blunt and tell her the truth not try to spare her feelings.

Natsumi smiled at the little freshling when he said her arms needed to be more fluid it was a good note and helpful. Since she was part dryad it was something she might have to fight with since she had wood in her DNA. "Thank you." She said warmly, "Have a nice practice." Natsumi said nicely. The freshling hadn't disrupted her practice in any way. So she had no reason to scold him for anything. Natsumi liked freshlings, she liked her siblings a lot, no matter their personality, she loved them no matter what. Natsumi didn't judge freshlings harshly if she could help it. "See ya." She said picking up her bag to head off to clean up and go to her other classes.
