Season had passed sliding from beneath the cold days to the warmth of the incoming spring leaving the beachfront awakening from a heavy much needed sleep. Birds chirped lovingly as the gulls called out over the constant rolling waves letting the quiet serenity of paradise yawn with a waking smile. How long had it been since the storms ceased and the ocean sung vividly within the shining rays of tomorrow. Many a query passed in a growing stallion's mind as he stretched his stocky legs accompanied by a playful tail. As always his brother had awaken leaving him to dream endlessly as the more intelligent of the two lended a hoof to their ever watchful matriarch of the herd. Being viewed as quaint to others the more capricious sibling adored it just the same. Training his mindset as a tiny colt prepared him for the future of adulthood whilst also leaving him to his more sporadic devices. Both his brother and enchanting mother comprised with himself made an ideal herd living among the waves.

Breathing inward he scented the salt infused air letting it create his tiny squeak of a sneeze. Shaking his head he stepped proudly outside leaving his stiff limbs to awaken gradually always keeping his tail in check. That creation was something of a nuisance but as it grew in length his body and thinking kept it under control. If he were to roll on his back or side it was precisely his own device in play. Chuckling he stepped out into the sandy grass feeling warmth sinking into the coolness of winter still announcing its stay. Snow was a rarity here but nights did seep in with a chill that made one's fins shiver.

Pulling himself into a canter he followed the well tracked path to the beachfront sinking deeper into the damp sands. Head poised with certainty he noted the wind was carrying from the South Seas. Letting his ears flick in curiosity he breathed once more taking in the scent of his herd. To his avail there was no response in scent nor movement. Tilting his head the stallion moved alongside the ocean as she lapped upon the shore sometimes leaving a shell in her passing. Usually he'd be overjoyed to receive such gifts but today he seemed perplexed noting in concern both his mother and brother's scents were faint. Pawing at the ground he took off in a balanced canter seeking those that were missing in his wake. Reaching the highest point where the water became an ocean itself he paused inhaling the air once more scenting them both but again it was fairly faint.

Two directions they had taken leaving the path for him to genuinely decide whom he'd pursue more. Possibly another scent or two mingled within the air's breath leaving him perplexed if immediate dancer was present. Perhaps a dream and yet he fathomed the actuality of the situation. Dreams never tasted of sand and surf as the gulls made their cries for no reason. Closing his eyes he nodded stepping away from the ocean following the course his heart spoke of him to respond to. Then with a bolt of stamina he picked up his pace extending into a massive gallop seeking someone dear to him.

Something called to him perhaps a whisper upon the wind drawing a sleepy stallion to his feet. Gazing downward he noted his brother snoozing deeply behind his large fishy tail.

"Hello. Are you there?"

Ears flicking forward he strained his hearing again to pick up the sound of the spirit calling his attention deep from the shadows.

"Come find me".

Looking one last time at his brother the eldest sibling trotted out of the grotto then galloped away from the ocean. Deepset in his mind he knew something called to him yet the reflection was blurred and overly confused. Turning into a steady gallop he pulled his stride inland ears focusing, searching, seeking the voice calling out to him. Leaving the ocean behind he moved further into the forest traveling endlessly till he came across a strange new landmark that was familiar somehow. "Hello?!" called out listening to the soft yet haunting voice of the other. Most of the time the eldest sibling known as Bahamas was a quite individual spending most of his days hunting shells with their mother or simply soaking in the salted air that strangely made his coat feel cool and refreshed. Flicking an ear again he scanned for that voice that grew quiet now. Taking in a deep breath he frowned more so in his eyes then his expression. Dreams were more fluid lately months after they'd evolved into hardy stallions able to swim some currents but not withstand the majesty of the sea herself. Kasumi's father their grandfather was said to be born of the Ocean as was his sister Lady Undine. Quite a sensitive subject their Grandfather usually turned away at a moment's notice. The Sea on the other hand had spoken to the twins occasionally still reminding them she was always there.

Now he walked slowly toward a grove of trees that grew thick entwining branches together. Pausing he closed his eyes speaking with his mind, "I am here" he nodded waiting for the voice to respond. Then giving caution to the wind he wiggled his smooth furred body through the opening till he was on the other side. Indeed, he stopped for his breath was taken quickly in awe and surprise. There before the stout nixie lied a paradise of flowers, trees, and most importantly a small pond that vaguely smelled of the Sea. Walking slowly toward the pond he craned his neck downward to inspect the crystal blue water lipping at it as he always did when retrieving a drink. Pulling his head upwards he blinked for the water was refreshing yet it did harbor a hint of the seawater he lived by daily. Blowing outward he prepared another taste test of the water only to let his head fly upward in surprise as something stared him directly in the face. When he blinked the creature disappeared quickly back into the water hiding in the shadows. Bahamas snorted craning his neck outward again to see if the creature was still there. Could it of been his imagination he wondered not seeing any trace of the other whom had been there previously.

A small delicate laugh echoed in his ears again as a small splash caught his attention, "Alright I know you are there. Are you the one that brought me here?"

It started as a game as she swam into the cove nearest to the shoreline. Curiosity filled with intrigue of a band of Soquili digging for treasures and shells. Sure she'd seen others as her strides took her to the different islands but this stretch of land seemed fascinating. Doing a bit of exploring she noted passages winding beneath the land itself filled with water. Some were indeed tight in corners pausing her curiosity to extend to a new approach. Making mental notes she soon factored out the areas that confined her possibilities to free flowing water to help her glide easily. The most intriguing find was the spring a good ways off from the coast. It was a fairly large capable to hold two or more Soquili within. Swimming downward she also noted it was rather deep but not enough to drown if another were to join her. Pondering she grinned then dived back into the water flowing out of the Spring to the ocean once again. This time she slipped back out into the lucrative waves blending interestingly with the depths. Popping her head upward she mused seeing him there with his mother digging in the sand for shells and trinkets.

For days this continued till one day the lone stallion was left upon the shore shelling by himself. Playfully she scooted inward blending seamlessly with the waves, "Hello?" she called out keeping herself out of sight. In response the stallion with the big finned tail would seek the voice curiously. Laughing to herself she call out once again with the same response in tow.

When the winter wedged inward she was forced to stay out in warmer climates keeping away from the colder inset winds. The happiness of her surprises were lost in the swept currents as she waited out the colder months. Once spring laid around the corner she returned playfully seeking out the elder of the twin stallions. Calling out to him she noted dutifully he actually returned her fascination sometimes speaking to her.

Finally one morning she swam inward as far as she could calling out to him, " Hello. Are you there? "Come find me".

Impatiently she awaited him with a small snort, "Hello? Come find me!" she called out till she sensed he had awoken. Then she left a shell upon the beach before diving back into the depths again heading toward the spring through the tunnels. Popping upward as she broke the calm surface of the water she waited hoping he'd come. Sure enough she sensed him heading there making her heart race for no other had reacted to her hide-and-seek game as he had.

As he leaned inward to get a second drink from the spring she pulled in closer her ebony eyes studying him curiously. This of course had been the first time she had even dared to be this close. Once he finally noticed her she dived downward in shock then paused hearing him call out to her. The game had indeed been fun but what lied in wait after reality kicked in. Shrugging hr shoulders she broke through the surface again, "Of course she responded with a small laugh. Who else would it be?"

Granted she was far enough from harm but currently his calmed soul spoke no threat what so ever to her.

Finally the dark angel had spoken leaving the pursuer with knowledge not insanity.

Still a shadow among the rippling water he couldn't make out who this "female" was getting his attention. All he did finally accomplish was learning she wasn't a figment of his imagination. "I don't know" he responded craning his head to see if her profile was in view. Her hiding skills were quite the challenge to one that was used to the open beachfront lingering along the shore as she followed ebb and flow. This peculiar creature kept herself hidden as if there was a game in motion putting herself close yet further away from the one being "it" in the game.

"What are you?" he asked with a swish of his long aquatic tail letting the fins brush over the grass in contemplation.

Her presence had been within his thoughts for several days now always calling out to him. It seemed a strange endeavor that Bahamas would be apart from his twin brother this length of time. Her element of mystery though caused the stallion to step forward letting his tiny hooves rest upon the water, "How about I come closer unless you mean me harm?" In truth he wasn't sure what devil or spirit he was communicating with presently. Many stories were told to children about lingering monsters luring them from their security of trust. If a child or in this case foal became to invested leaving safety to the wind they'd seek themselves a watery grave thereafter eaten by the monster spotlighted. It was pure fairytale he assured himself stepping in further that the cool water rested upon his chest now. The creature's scent was fate but he reminded himself she was a breed of himself just more equipped for the marine life far out from sea.

"Might as well show yourself" he murmured with a touch of bravery. This was Caribbean he'd be headfirst into the spring looking for danger. That's the oddity between the soft spoken Bahamas and the outgoing Caribbean. Reassuring himself he stepped in letting his neck be encased by water leaving only his head out of the crystal waters now filling with mud as he loosened it from the spring's surface. Keeping watch he paused letting himself settle in the deeper water. Being freshwater that wasn't swaying in constant routine he found his footing to be sure his tail propelling him like a rotor as it pushed back and forth from the current around him. Her sudden movements made the water even more cloudy as she skittered beneath the waves.

Now he closed his eyes listening to the water as it lapped upon the edge of the spring, "I can do this all day" he murmured again reopening his eyes in nearly a bout of shock. About a muzzle length away floated a smaller seathi black as the night yet more beautiful, Well hello there" he spoke with a small laugh looking into those deep ebony eyes.

Simplistic innocence brings admiration and laughter to one seeking attention.

This being the case of a playful seathi mid-stride in a curious game of hide-n-seek nonetheless. She found great amusement sliding through the dirt lined base causing a swirl of camouflage that kept her hidden from view. Keeping the other in a world of confusion lead Vanmoriel the upper hand in playing keep away from this confused nixie. Her laughter was soft yet it lingered as if caught by a spider web dangling soft and sweet. Purposefully, she'd dredge the bottom to keep concealment from the male she desired a game of tag from. What this seathi was not calculating upon was the male calling her bluff as he entered the water nearing to her hiding spot. Flicking her ears she breathed quietly letting only her head rest upon the water keeping a vigil over him now. The further he approached her the more the game was becoming a stalemate over time.

Facing the music as he was intermediately right in front of her she finally let herself be seen. Games she supposed only lasted for a few moments in one's lifetime. Apparently, hers had passed giving the thought to approach him herself. Swimming silently toward him Vanmoriel remained as quiet as a leaf resting upon silent water. As he closed his eyes to clear his thoughts she swam forward till her small muzzle barely touched upon his eyes wide in curiosity he was this close in her personal space.

"I know you can" she responded softly looking deeply in his eyes, "Hello finally."

Taking in the sight before her as her little hooves churned the water to keep afloat she noted he was a bit bigger then she. His mottled colors reminded her of the sea whilst the blues remained open and soothing like the ocean on a calm day. Even his remote swirls were like waves swirling in farout whirlpools or churning waters. Thinking to herself the little seathi pondered how vibrant he was compared to the deepness she was herself.

"I'm Vanmoriel named for the depth of night because of my coat. Sorry if I possibly drove you nuts seeking me out. I was just amused that you went to certain lengths to involve yourself in my games". There she'd apologized but her ambition was to learn who he was making him a different entity from his brother. From a distance one would notice that both siblings were identical yet at close glance they carried different markings. Suddenly she paused seeing the light shimmer over the male's eyes. How pretty she remarked to herself seeing the depth of the ocean in a soft teal like the reflection of the island water.

"Alright stranger what's your name if I may be so bold to capture your attention this long".

Seeking that which can't be found brings the biggest self doubt upon oneself.

Meanwhile Caribbean had set out in the opposite direction of his brother unknowingly seeking answers to missing questions. Growing into a stallion he rarely tripped over hi own tail these days as the foal version of him had repeatedly. It was all in balance and yet determination played a singular role in his ambition. He could now hold a suspended gallop in an nixie fashion pulling off confidence for an overachiever such as himself. His stout smaller legs carried him away from the shoreline out into the woods moving steadily over brambles and rocks placed haphazardly in his stride. Keeping pace with his tail navigating his speed he carried onward till Caribbean was a good pace away from his home. Stepping out of the forest his bright blue eyes gazed upon a meadow him nor his brother had ever visited before.

"I didn't know about this place" he mumbled blinking at the sun as it warmed his fins and back. Sniffing the air he noted plainly there was no danger as it lead him in single steps toward the tall long grass. Tossing his head he playfully walked inward letting the long strands brush his smooth sides. Grinning he moved a little faster feeling a tickling sensation combined with laughter out of his small muzzle. Craning his neck he nibbled on a strand closest noting the bitter yet interesting flavor. Through his childhood he prefered seaweed or even small fish as long as they were tasty now he was filling himself on spring grass reaching high toward the sun and clouds floating by. Sniffing once more he moved freely along the grass till he encountered a stream. Playfully he followed in suite upwards now standing in the water his little legs splashed upon himself in amusement. While it wasn't warm as the summer season incoming it still felt good upon his smooth fur that he was covered within. Like his sibling he carried a smoother coat with fine hair growing outward. This was the design of the rare nixie breed that swam within water that didn't overpower whilst also living on land like the normal full sized varieties.

As he followed the stream it opened more into a river giving more scent of fresh water vs the ocean. Swimming inward he relished in the coolness around him diving downward till he could run free spirited along the riverbed bottom. Occasionally he'd n** at fish swimming by eating it entirely as if he were one of those dino ponies. Bobbing his head moving upward he'd gather air then swim deeper inward as the river expanded outward.

While he explored Caribbean never pondered his whereabouts leaving his identity in limbo as he burrowed deeper under the water exploring this amazing new world. Occurring to him briefly the little stallion acknowledged this was what his kind was meant to do. The sea in her riles was way too difficult to navigate but the rivers, ponds, and streams were definitely more to his liking.
