[alignleft] [/alignleft] There had been a lot of, caffufle, in the Bahari of late, much was happening and her world was in turmoil. As a Mwani she had certainly seen her share of injuries in her time but at the moment it seemed there was no end of sprained paws, small scars and scratches, painful ears and dry tongues, seriously who drinks from the sea? She had been busy, very busy.
She laid quietly at the edge of the waves now bathing her sore paws. She wasnt sure if she had ever been this busy, but it had certainly cast away the thoughts she had been contemplating of late. What was beyond the Bahari? Even now as she sat with the water lapping at her toes she let her mind wander to the thoughts, yet, she knew she could not leave, she loved this place too much, she loved her family, she loved the sea and yet a little part of her tugged for her to just see the outside.
"I know, I never would." She sighs casting her thoughts out to the calm cool sea.

The outside was rather full of strange and unusual places; add to the fact that it was also full of strange individuals and there you would find Tethys. As part of the outside world he was causing quite the stir as of late, as were his band and several others he had brought along with him. To say that a mini (albeit peaceful) invasion had occurred was an understatement, as it stood the Bahari was positively swarming with outsiders.
...And all of them were under strict orders to behave.
Thus the lion had taken it upon himself to patrol - it wasn't that he didn't trust his own band, but to reassure those they were currently staying with, he thought it was in their best interests that he be seen. Unsurprisingly everyone was behaving, there'd be no fights, no disputes, and for the most part his brothers had spent much of their time regarding the Bahari with unbridled amusement and curiosity - they were just so vulnerable, and yet it was as if something sacred seemed to keep them protected. Otherwise how else could they possibly live here? Without the protection of something or someone, they were sitting ducks!
He soon found himself on the beach though, satisfied that his reavers were on their best behaviour. If they could relax then he was allowed to relax too!

The sound of sand shifting between someone's toes made her turn her head from the waves. Her dark teal eyes fell upon Tethys. She sort of recognised the big male, he was the leader of the stormborn group that was gracing their shores. Tilting her head curiously she waited, wondering if she should speak to him, she decided it wouldn't do any harm.
"Greetings, I hope you are enjoying the sea this afternoon." She sounded so formal and she laughed at herself inwardly causing her shoulders to shake in amusement. "Sorry I heard myself say that a nd it sounded weird." She smiles, he seemed friendly enough if a little formidable, but she had grown up around massive males who could be very intimidating with their dark coats and huge frames. It meant that seeing these large beasts about didn't really frighten her, but that didn't stop her feeling cautious, they were alien, from outside her usual scope but maybe he could tell her things, things about not 'here'.

"How very formal of you," Tethys replied with a wry smile as Tarni broke the silence. He was accustomed to seeing them lazing about in the Bahari, when not 'working' they often seemed to relax. He hadn't noticed too many of them straining themselves and in a way he could appreciate that. Life was much more relaxed here, everything moved at a slower pace and it seemed to work for these particular lions even if he might have found himself a touch bored!
"You can relax," he reassured her and chuckled as he drew closer. Wary as she might have been of him, she like the others, really didn't seem to give off a threatening vibe. They might have been concerned as to their overall intentions but they didn't appear to fear them... This was good, given that Tethys would probably be on their doorstep more often than not to receive the help of the Hlare.
"Unless of course that is how you speak when you're relaxed in which case I may be lacking in a bit of etiquette," he confessed and shook his head. "I'm not great at the small talk when it comes to scenery and the weather..." he explained.

Tarni chuckled to herself. "I'm sorry I don't usually speak like that at all. I wasnt really sure how to greet you." She smiles and tilts her head looking the big male over. "I have a feeling you are considered intimidating." She stated pulling her toes from the waves she moves in to a seated position so she could look at him more squarely.
"My name is Tarni, and you are?" She raises a curious brow her tail flickering in to the water causing a subtle splash on to the soft white sand. "My father has said that you all come from a different pride. What is it like, out there?"

"I'd just suggest going with 'hello'," he mused. It was clear that he was a laid back individual, at least in an environment like this he didn't appear to have the inclination to be anything other than pleasant. If he held an arrogance it wasn't noticeable, if anything he presented a quiet dignity alongside what seemed to be a reasonable sense of humour. He could certainly take a joke if his reactions were anything to go by and he definitely didn't seem to be offended by any misstep she might have thought she'd taken.
"Or if we're going to go with completely relaxed 'I happen to be on vacation' vibe then 'Hi' might work out even better," he added with a grin. "Name's Tethys, and your father is right," he responded to her queries immediately after dissecting her greeting and waved his paw. However he did pause for thought, and gave himself a moment to consider the lioness's question. Suffice it to say that it was one that he had gotten a lot since he was here.
"Do you mean what's it like at home or what's it like out there," he motioned to all around him. "Because I'll be honest with you out 'there' is pretty damn big and it could take a while to explain what it's like..."

The teal lioness laughed quietly, it seemed he was rather jovial, she wondered why some of the pride were weary of the visitors. "Hi, would be just fine." She smiles settling her tail so it was still she felt a wave tug at her back paws and it made her feel safe, brave even.
"Will you tell me about your home? I'v never been beyond the borders of the Bahari'mtoto, I'd like to know what's out there, even if its just a little." She raised both brows curiously, her mind reeling through the possibilities. Sure she had heard tales of the rogue lands and even spoken to creatures from the neighbouring pride but Tethys was a rare beast, a creature from far away lands with different customs. Her curiosity was getting the better of her.

Tethys took a seat and rested all of his weight to one side; if a lion could slouch then he was certainly doing it now. This was another question he'd had before, and he'd given it some considerable thought as to how he might answer it. He had been warned by the King not to paint such a pretty picture that the naive might think his home was wonderful, but at the same time they hadn't openly encouraged him to give all the gory details either.
Hrm...
"Well," he began thoughtfully and rubbed his chin with his paw. "It's a lot more grey than this place is," he said finally. "We have more jagged cliffs, lots of fog and not quite so much colour," he continued. He glanced briefly in the direction of the various jungle regions around the Bahari'mtoto. They really did have the benefit of plantlife and flowers to add a great deal of vibrancy to the land, there would no doubt be some in the Stormborn who might envy it.
"Colder too, our weather isn't quite so benevolent," he smiled and nodded to the waves. "The water at home is more likely to drag you into its depths and swallow you whole if you get a little too cocky," he smirked.
"But we're not a bad lot, most of us anyway... Just pretty rough around the edges. We compliment our home."

The lioness listened intently to the pale pale as he settled himself comfortably on the sands. She couldn't imagine the world he described, though he was very eloquent in his speech about it she couldn't put her paw on what it was. Maybe it was because she had never seen it? She decided that this was the reason and let it go. She couldn't imagine a world without as much colour as the Bahari.
"Is the whole world so gray?" She sighed, she felt a little disappointment in her bosom, she had hoped for some grand literary yarn about high seas and rolling fields, massive forests, and colours she couldn't even dream of. Gray was just, she wanted to say boring.
"I'm sure you're tired of hearing these questions. Our land must seem very.." She couldn't find a word so she shrugged "Have you ever wished for some excitement?" She sighed.

"I get plenty of excitement...so I don't have to wish for it," he replied with a small chuckle and cleared his throat. "As for whether the world is grey everywhere, no, it isn't," he replied reassuringly. There were certainly places that lacked for vibrant colours, but they all had their own unique qualities. Whether it be snow, forest, desert or otherwise, there was always something a little different to see. "What colours you find is largely dependent on where you go," he explained and raised his brow.
"Your land is a welcome change of pace," he added, dismissing her assumptions that it was boring. Perhaps over a prolonged period he might agree with her, but it was a fantastic place for some R&R for his band and they seemed to be enjoying it. "Exciting in his own way," he mused as an after thought. Sure it might not be explosive in terms of drama or action, but it was different.
"If you would like I can tell you about some of the places I've gone to," he offered and tilted his head to the side. "Might lull you in to a sleep as I've been to a fair few... But the offer is there if you'd like."Syrius Lionwing Almost a good stopping point methinks? =O Since he can talk the night away with his adventures! xD

Epine de Rose Sounds good! I shall wrap it up Tarni smiled a gentle smile, it was nice to know that there were places full of colour out there that there was excitement and adventure on the horizon. Hearing his stories, she felt maybe they would keep her tethered to her world.
"I'd like to hear of more places, will you tell me some of your tales?" She tilted her head and started to move up the beach. The tide would rise soon and as much as she liked to sit in the water it was much easier to listen to his stories if they were some where dry.
"I don't think I could get bored. I'v never felt bored here after all. Hearing of the world outside it reminds me just how wonderful home really is." She purrs leading him off towards the dens for a night of stories and wonders and reasons to stay home.

Ahhh so she had wanderlust - he'd definitely seen that in a few of the Bahari already. Gender seemed irrelevant as both seemed to be suffering from the same curiosity. It was curious really as the King didn't appear to restrict their movement too heavily, was there a particular reason she didn't want to wander too far? It was food for thought, but he would save it for another time.
Instead, he simply took the lioness's invitation. He'd not say no to a curious spirit and if his adventures could sate her curiosity for now then perhaps he would be doing the pride a service!
Thus he followed after her, she seemed to know where she intended to go, so he'd not argue against it...
