Oleander sat quietly as a group of kids gathered round on a pretty open field. He wasn't sure what they were doing, but it must be something interesting to draw all of their attention. He grew closer so he could inspect what was going on and overheard them talking about teams and rules and things like that. His eyes fell upon the ball at the center of the group, his pink ears perking happily. "Soccer? You guys are gonna play? I want in!" The kids took no time in deciding their teams and Olly made sure he was the goalie. At least he can touch the ball when the others couldn't!

 Sugar maple was really uncomfortable, she had been brought to the part to play by her caretaker but she wasn't sure if she wanted to be there, cross that when the other freshlings started picking teams for soccer she definitely didn't want to be there. She was picked eventually but she was not confident about this game at all. She was sure she wouldn't be noticed by anyone and likely wouldn't make any goals. She sighed as she watched the other freshlings rush about the field. Sugar Maple was a quiet soft being not a soccer star. She looked over at the goalie maybe she would get to say hello to them later.

Olly stretched and watched as the children took their places. He was so excited that they would all get to play and run around. He would have to make sure to do a good job so that his time would win, but he wanted to have fun too! His eyes caught that of a worried looking Baphomet on the field. He called over to them with a wide smile, "Hey! Hello!" He waved his hands above his head. "Let's have fun! Do your best!" He kept his big grin as he got into position, his two pink tails lifted off the ground as best he could to be ready.

Sugar Maple blinked as she was waved at by the goalie. She missed the ball being kicked to her and she blushed. "Umm k.." She said softly "I'm not very good at this game..." Sugar Maple said sadly as she ran after the other students who seemed very good at this game. Whereas Sugar was pretty slow since she was a dryad trying to keep up with grimms and nekos running around the field in the chill of the day. Sugar was waiting for this to be over so she could go sit somewhere warm and cozy. She attempted again to get the ball so she could try to score at least one goal in this silly game.

"All that matters is that you have fun, right?" Oleander had the widest grin on his face, pumped up for the ball to come his way. The hardest part was always waiting when you were the goalie, but it was so exciting being the one to try to block your opponent! He watched as the other students ran after the ball, wishing more and more that he was out there. "Try to get it and kick it in here!" He yelled out to encourage both teams. "You just gotta be quick!" He made a pose as if he was blocking. "Like that!"

Sugar Maple looked at the smiling figure as she tried to play this game, she huffed not used to all this running. "Umm yess I guess so.." She said Sugar finally got the ball and attempted to kick it into the goal as Olly had told her too. After she kicked it. She closed her eyes she really hoped it went into the net and the others didn't yell at her or something she was nervous that no one would like her. Since she wasn't good at soccer. She liked Olly though they had been really sweet to her all this crazy game.

Olly was jumping with excitement as the soccer ball made it's way closer to him. Finally, someone was going to try to make it in and he was going to do his best to block it! He noticed the worried looking hybrid had gotten a hold of the ball and was on their way to make a kick. He got into position, his two pink tails swishing behind him excitedly as he waited. The ball came towards him and he stopped it with a well timed jump. He kicked the ball back out to his team, waving at his new friend. "Not bad, not bad!" His wide smile cheering them on.

Sugar Maple sighed and she went off the field she had tried and she had failed Olly was nice about it, but he had been nice about her lack of soccer skills the whole game. Sugar went to sit down to rest, she pulled a bottle of water out of the cooler and she took small sips while she was cooling down so she didn't get a tummy ache. Sugar watched the others finish up playing the game and then start to come over to do the same. It would be time to head home soon, Sugar was looking forward to reading a book in her dorm room soon.

Olly bounded over to his new friend. "Well, did you have fun? I know I sure did! I love running and kicking the ball and stuff!" He giggled, still excited from the game. "Will you come back to play next time? I can help you get better!" He was trying to encourage the freshling. "If you need to find me, ask for Olly! I think a lot of kids know me by now! And that includes you!" He laughed, finally slowing down. "What was your name again? And do you live in the dorms? If you do, maybe we could hang out some mote!" His red eyes sparkled at the thought.

Sugar blinked as Olly asked her a million questions, it made her really nervous and she stood frozen. Finally, she gathered her wits so she could answer the questions. "Umm well I guess so, Umm I don't know maybe?." She paused and then said "Umm I don't have any other place to live so yes I live in the dorm." She looked at Olly and then said "It's nice to meet you." Her voice soft. "Umm I'm Sugar Maple." She couldn't remember if he had asked any other questions she missed she hoped she hadn't she didn't want Olly to be mad at her.

"So you do live in the dorms? That's cool, I could walk back with you if you want!" His two pink tails wagged happily at the thought. "Oh! Oh! It would be cool if you maybe wanna do a sleep over?" He was probably getting ahead of himself as his pink ears twitched an began to relax. "My whole name is Oleander, but everyone calls me Olly. You can call me Olly too if you want!" He nodded. "It's nice to meet you! Where's your dorm?" He started to head in the general direction of the freshling dorms as he spoke.

Sugar nodded shyly and smiled a little at Olly and said softly "Ok you can walk with me if you want too." Sugar frowned "If we do a sleepover will you really come and stay??" Sugar made a sad face, "Last time I went to a campout I met a freshling but I couldn't find them afterward." She said in a soft sad tone. "I don't know where they went, maybe cause I'm not worth being friends with maybe they just left." She paused a moment and then said: "My full name is Sugar Maple, but you can call me Sugar if you want to." Sugar looked at Olly and then said "Umm I'm in the Arkham dorm you??"

Olly stopped in his tracks for a moment, genuinely surprised that Sugar Maple had decided it would be alright for him to sleep over. He never really asks seriously so that his feelings won't be hurt when they say no, but this freshling seemed to be up for it. "Or course I'd actually go and stay! We could watch movies and eat snacks and I think it would be a ton of fun!" He nodded happily, tails wagging again. "Ok, Sugar, I'm in the Eldritch dorms. As long as we tell the caretakers, they should let up do a sleep over!" He thought about it for a moment. "Well, I hope they will."

Sugar got permission from one of the caretakers to go to Olly's dorm to sleep over and watch movies, "Umm ok then let's go to my dorm so I can get a backpack of my stuff, and maybe a bag of cookies, candy and popcorn." Sugar Maple had a sweet tooth she liked sweets and something like this was the perfect reason to have sweets. Watch a movie with Olly eat some yummy stuff and maybe this time she would make a real friend and they wouldn't disappear. Sugar had enough trouble trying to understand why others had mommies and daddies and she didn't.
