Alya, true to his word, had not been patrolling without a partner. When a youma attacked him while he was walking home, though...he knew what he had to do. He couldn't very well risk getting hurt, so the youma had to go. Alya was not a fighter, but the youma was barely one, either.
At least Alya had taken some self defense classes.
The youma charged at him after he powered up and Alya managed to deliver a swift kick, sending the beast flying towards a building--and into a puff of dust.
It was hard for Alya to believe; he stared somewhat incredulously at the dust wafting in the wind, waiting for the youma to reform and attack him or something.
...That had almost been easy.
He was so distracted by trying to make sure that the youma was most certainly gone that he was not even aware of other nearby energy signatures--and even if he had been, it wasn't like he was very good at understanding what they meant, yet.
He planted his hands on his hips and tilted his head at the building, still not certain that the youma could really be totally gone? Was he seriously just that lucky? This wasn't at all like the agent who had attacked him, or the youma Julienne had warned him about.
That...that, he could do. That made him feel like maybe he was cut out to be a Senshi.

Whisler had felt the youma, and he had also felt the basic senshi, and he wanted to at least attempt to help. Help the senshi, that was. He was still on the side of order, no matter who he kissed. Or slept with. For now at least, he had to help those on his side.
By the time he got to the senshi, he found that he was too late...and the youma was already taken care of. Though...he thought that he could at least...introduce himself to this incredibly beautiful senshi.
“Good job, that was pretty impressive work you just did. I’m glad you weren’t hurt at all, I felt the youma and tried to get here as quickly as I could to assist, but you were already finished...I’m Whisler...knight of Polaris. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He flashed a smile at the other blonde and hoped that this meeting would be as good as he was beginning to imagine it would be.

Alya seemed a little surprised by the sudden voice behind him and turned to eye the Knight. He was grateful for introductions and nodded. "Oh, yes, it certainly is," he said, eying the man quickly. A smile dawned on his face and he held out hand in greeting.
"My name is Alya, Senshi of Apathy. You're the first Knight I've ever met and," his voice trailed off for just a second. "I have to say, I'm impressed. You're everything I thought, and more."
A little bit of flirting was okay, right? His only other patrol partner was a young girl and he had to get this out somewhere. Besides--this gentleman was certainly easy on the eyes--much better to look at than that youma had been.

Oh, he did have a way with words, this Alya...but…”Apathy? Really? You don’t look to be someone who is likely to inspire apathy in anyone, Alya. You are stunning.” He crossed the small distance between them and took Alya’s hand, gently kissing the back of it.
Now, here was someone who seemed like they understood how to flirt, and more than flirt, perhaps. “I’m really everything you thought a knight would be? And more?” Well, besides flirting, that was just plain flattering. Times like this...when he was being appreciated for being a knight...it made him proud of what he was. It drove out the feelings of dissatisfaction and resentment that he was having more and more often...it was nice.
“And you, beautiful Alya are all that I picture a senshi to be. Strong and beautiful, I love it.”

Another smile twitched onto his face, this one a bit more real. "I'll take the beautiful, but I'm still working on the strong. This was my first youma," he confessed, nodding to the dissipating heap of dust that had all but floated away entirely.
"I didn't know what to expect, but I'm glad you came along. I thought I was lucky that it wasn't a strong one, but," he flashed the Knight a coy smile. "It seems like my luck's only just beginning. I'm a bit sad I didn't get to see you in action, though. You'd be fun to watch."
He liked the attention, the worry, the praise.
Yes, tonight was going to be a good night. At the very least, he was going to go home dreaming of Whisler's eyes, and his handsome face. Of him holding his hand. Oh, yes--this was the stuff of dreams, and Alya intended to relish it.

Whisler laughed softly, not releasing his hold on the Senshi’s hand. “Well, I’m sure we’ll meet again one day...I know I’d like to, that’s for sure.” Gently, he tugged the hand, nodding towards a nearby bench. “If you’re not in too much of a hurry, perhaps we can go and talk for a little while? I’d love to get to know you better...and I do hope you’d like to get to know me better…”
He turned to get his eyes locked on Alya’s, giving as sensual a look as he could muster. “It was your first youma?”
The knight was already walking to the bench and sat down upon it, smiling. “That is really impressive for your first one...I’m assuming you haven’t really been a senshi for long then. It really can be dangerous on your own though...but you can call me whenever you need a patrol buddy, I’ll spend time with you whenever.”

"Oh, I'm not in a hurry," Alya assured, letting himself be lead to a bench. He sat down, keeping everything about his posture trained on the Knight. Whisler clearly had his full attention, and Alya leaned closer. "My first youma, yes. I'm still very new. I've only really met one other person, sans the woman who tried to kill us. But you're the first Knight--the first male."
The first one probably even close to his age.
"So I think there's already a special place in my heart for you. I would love a patrol buddy, I will be happy to take you up on that. If you don't mind my asking...How long have you been doing this? And," he reached up his free hand to stroke across one of the glowing marks on Whisler's cheek. "What are these?"

Whisler really enjoyed this attention. He was craving it more than he could really admit, and when fingers were brushed across his cheek, he couldn’t help but shiver in delight. “Oh those? Those are…” He hesitated and finally just let out a laugh. “A mistake. They’re a big, ******** up mistake. I...I’ve been doing this for a while...but, I didn’t start out as a knight…”
He was surprised that he even could admit that...but this guy...he was as easy to talk to as he was to look at.
“I became a knight...honestly I don’t remember why, or how. But I know I had been part of the Negaverse before that. My name was Mariposite...and...these marks...they…”
The knight sighed, bringing the hand he still held back to his lips, placing kisses on each fingertip. “They make it so I can never go back to the Negaverse...I…”
Why was he telling all of his darkest secrets to this guy...he was going to send the poor thing running from him as sure as anything. “I made a mistake with them...I don’t know how it happened...but I would give anything to get rid of them…”

Alya nodded as he listened to Whisler's story. "You started out in the Negaverse?" he asked; it was a redundant question, but he just seemed surprised. Not afraid, just captivated. It was easy to listen to a man when he was so good at making you feel important--no matter what he was saying.
"...I heard that they were bad. But...you don't seem happy that you don't have to worry about corruption. Do the marks do something to you?" he asked, resting a little more against Whisler. "Or...do you just miss the Negaverse?"
He wasn't judging; he wasn't cruel or suspicious.
Just curious.
Whisler was a lot of firsts, and Alya wouldn't deny that he found the guy attractive. A dark past, a man with a problem, mysteries abound...
It was alluring; Alya wanted to know more.
...And he didn't want those little kisses to stop, either; even if they made it a little hard to focus.

Whisler nodded, moving his kisses down to Alya’s palm, enjoying how soft his hand was. “Yeah...I started out there...but like I said...I can’t remember it at ******** with your memories when you switch sides, I don’t know what it is but...I can’t remember a damn thing…”
He swallowed. “No, they don’t do anything to me...they let me visit my Wonder...the place I protect...I can visit there more than people who don’t have the marks, Transcendance marks, is what I’ve been told they’re called...but...I can’t go back. I can’t go home...”
The knight’s voice broke and he felt oddly vulnerable. “I...love someone in the Negaverse...and he dumped me a few weeks ago...and I can’t...deal with it...and...I just want to go back...I want him back...I…” He pressed close to Alya, swallowing a sob. “...I’m sorry for dumping all of this on you...I don’t know why this happened…”

Alya nodded slowly, taking in the words as well as he was taking in the attention. They were feeding off of each other, but he didn't even care. He wasn't use to this sort of raw emotion, and ultimately, he wasn't sure how to deal with it.
But he knew about a broken heart.
"Come here," Alya said, reaching over to draw Whisler close to him. He wrapped his arms around him and snuggled into the crook of his neck.
"It happened because you've bottled it up, haven't you? You've been afraid to talk about it because any Senshi or Knight will call you crazy--and the Negaverse is the Negaverse." It made sense to him. He was too new to have any solid allegiances; he only knew that someone in the Negaverse had tried to kill him.
He stroked Whisler's hair as he held him, speaking softly into his ear. "Why did he dump you?"

Whisler didn’t even realize how much he needed this. This comfort...this…acceptance. It felt really good. Really, really good. And as it felt good, Whisler broke down, clinging to the senshi and beginning to shake with sobs.
“I don’t know…” the words were spoken only when the sobs finally vanished, and they sounded pathetic. “He lied to me...lied to me for well over a year...he had been a knight, and he got corrupted...I was there...he was so scared...he sent this message that a General Queen was after him...and I tried to help but...he got corrupted...then I kept running into him, and I wanted to help him come back to order...to come home...and he seemed like he wanted to at first...but then these things happened, awful things and I understood why he didn’t want to come back after that, and I backed off…”
Whisler swallowed and pressed closer to Alya, nuzzling against the hand that stroked his hair.
“I...was going to corrupt...to be with him again and...then this happened...the transcendance, and suddenly I couldn’t be with him anymore...and he was angry, but we worked it out...and the last time I saw him he told me it was all a lie. His corruption...he said he planned the whole thing and was lying to everyone just to...gain sympathy…”
He hiccuped and rubbed at an eye, sighing. “I told him I didn’t care, that I loved him regardless and he told me he could never love me as I am...and it was awful. I told him I’d find a way to come back...to be Mariposite again...and he called me pathetic..and I just…”
He swallowed, a few tears leaking from his eyes. “I don’t know what I did...we were fine the last few times we saw one another…”

Alya did not seem fazed or offended by the tears, he just continued to hold Whisler close and stroke his hair. "Oh, that sounds awful, Whisler. Why would he lie to you about something like that? Why would he keep lying to you?"
Part of it was rhetorical; Alya was piecing things together in my mind.
"...Do you think it was just part of a long con?" he asked softly. Using love was a cruel game, and Alya wished it to be different. But...getting mad when he couldn't corrupt? Something seemed a little off.
"...If you want to be with someone, you should make it happen. Sides shouldn't matter. Or--well, I suppose they do, if you've got people on both sides that would want to hurt you or your loved one for it. Why didn't he...why hasn't he tried to purify? Or, tried to help you find a way to remove your Transcendence?"
He was asking a lot of questions though; he didn't want to stress Whisler out. Instead he just drew him a little tighter.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. It sounds confusing. I don't understand why he would do or say those things--you seem like a great guy, who really cares for him. Something about that doesn't add up--What's his name?"
He was still holding Whisler, stroking his hair; he wanted him to let it out, to relax. Bottling up emotions could drive you crazy, and it already sounded like Whisler was already dealing with too much on his plate.

“I mean...he had said he was going to purify...he said he wanted to come back to order...but then when he got kidnapped...I thought that’s what changed him...and before that he said he was just afraid of chaos, which I understood…”
He didn’t mind the questions in the slightest...it made it seem like Alya really cared...and he liked that. He really enjoyed being cared about, even if it was by a stranger.
...So why couldn’t he talk this freely to Arias? It didn’t make sense…
“His name’s Ashanite...and he’s stupidly handsome...but…” He shrugged and pressed a little closer. “You’ll know when you see him...he has this long hair, deep blue it’s stunning...and his outfit...ugh. His whole chest is exposed, it’s pure...I don’t even know. Sex appeal? ...And he’s really talented in that area too...to be perfectly honest…”
Whisler moved a little and nuzzled close to Alya’s neck, kissing it slightly.

Alya was listening; he was trying to listen, at least. A shiver ran down his spine when Whisler moved into his neck.
Everyone had their weak spots, and his breath hitched. Instinctively, he moved to expose his neck a little more. He tried to stop his eyes from fluttering shut, but there was no point.
"He sounds like a catch," at least, physically. "...But that attitude. Lying to you, dropping you. Oh, I don't know if I could forgive him for that."
...He could, of course. Alya could forgive someone for a lot of things. But he could still think that someone else deserved to be treated better than that. He'd have to keep his eyes out for the man--Ashanite. Even if only to chastise him.
He didn't even try to figure out how a Negaverse agent and a Knight might have...
Oh, no. He did not need to be thinking about that right now.
He drew in another breath and tried to calm himself.
"You're a catch, Whisler." He didn't even care how fast this had seemed to move. He'd had nights where he'd done more with less words; it's not like they were propositioning each other or anything. Just being honest.
Alya was a physical person, and Whisler was a physical person.
And he was trying to focus.
"Don't let him make you feel bad. If he's not going to give you the attention you deserve, he doesn't deserve this attention from you. You deserve more. You deserve someone who is going to be honest with you. But I can't understand why anyone would throw you away--look at you! You're so sweet, so handsome. He's made such a mistake."
